Synchronization to another computer
Hi,
I have 2 PC's with iTunes and 1 Ipod.
I would like to use 1 PC as my "music server" and synchronize this library to my iPod and to the other PC.
But I don't want to copy all the songs of my main music library (for disk space problem)
So It works fine to synchronize my Ipod.
But I don't find an option on iTunes to synchronize my library to my other PC from my first PC or from my Ipod!
I want to have the same things on my second PC than on my Ipod (no more).
Do you have any suggestion?
I've seen on the forum that there are some sofwtare to recover ipod to PC. Maybe it can be a workaround but I would prefer to work only with Itunes if this is possible. If not, what are the (free) software you recommend?

You can use any valid email address for your Apple ID. When you do so you are given an alternate .me address, which you then use as your iCloud mail address. You do not need to use the .me address if you don't want to, but only the.me address will sync via iCloud. You can set up your regular email address in the same way as you always have done and continue to use it if you wish to do so. -

Yes, but external disks will always be slower than internal drives.
Look into file synchronization software. As long as folder structure is identical inside the two master folders, and drive letters the same, you can keep the two machines fully synchronized very easily, going both ways. The one I use cost about $50 or so.
Use a large capacity 2,5" portable (goes in your pocket) for transport. You need the entire master folder there, but once set up only new or modified files are copied.
The Lightroom catalog can be synchronized with the rest, so that you are working with the same catalog on both machines. This overwrites the catalog with a new copy every time, so a regular backup schedule in addition is a must. OTOH you will have three copies of every file, one always off-site. That's sound backup practice.
Tip: exclude the Lr Previews folder from the synchronization. They are written to disk in such a way that they take an insanely long time to copy. New previews will be built on the receiving machine. -

Getting "Media Offline" After Archived Project to HDD to Another Computer

How do you avoid getting media offline when transferring a project to another computer's C drive?
I use PrE9 and decided to transfer my project to another computer for performance purposes. I archived the project (copy, not trim) to an external hard drive first, making sure to synchronize the drive letters of the HDD in both old/new computers beforehand. Working from the external drive is fine -- no media offline issues -- but I wanted to transfer the archived project to my new computer's C drive. After doing so, the project is now riddled with media offline messages. I'd rather not deal with the clips individually as there are too many.
What step(s) am I missing? I'm sure it's easy, but this amateur has a lot to learn.Well, when one changes the drive letter (or any part of the Absolute Path) with linked media, the first time that the Project has been Opened, those links will be broken. Syncing iPhone to another computer
I have iPhone 3Gs with iOS4. I want to sink my iPhone to iTunes and have music on my iPhone that is not 'purchased' music but CD's etc copied through another computer which is now defunct. Every time I try to select Manage Music & Videos manually it wants to sink the empty library on new computer to my iPhone, thereby deleting everything. When the device is plugged in, iTunes recognises the device but doesn't show the library on the phone

Install the provided software. Your phone should come with the software needed to sync your phone with your computer. If not, go to your phone provider and ask where you can get it. Once you have it, download the program onto your computer.

Locate the "Sync Manager." Once installed, look for and select the "Sync" icon. Often the "Sync" icon is identified with your phone provider's logo. If you cannot find the icon on your desktop, use your computers search and type in "Sync."

Connect your phone. To start the Sync process, connect your phone to the computer's USB port using a USB cord. You may have to purchase a USB cord that fits your phone's USB port. Accessories can be purchased through the retailer you bought the phone through or online at CellPhoneShop.com (see Resources below).

So my family had a computer that kept all of the songs and videos on it for itunes. how can i transfer all of that data to another computer and put that new computer as our home computer for the home itunes computer? please help me. i have been trying to figure this out for 2 months now.
open itunes on the new computer and go to the itunes store
make sure you are signed in with the apple id of whoever purchased all of music from the itunes store
on the right hand side of the itunes store home page, under quick links click 'purchased'
you will be able to download anything you have previously purchased for free

Our computer crashed almost two weeks ago so my dad took it to Best Buy to get it fixed, and they said that we were very close to the hard drive going out and losing everything. Luckily, they said that they could easily transfer all of our data into another computer, but that they would have to keep it over night.
So they did, and when I got it back I immediately went to Microsoft Word (after we installed it again, of course) to see if all of my documents were there. (I am a writer, so it's very important to me.) Only half were there, so my father took it back and they said only half transferred, but they could transfer it all, no problem, it just has to stay over night again. (They also installed iTunes, etc. for us so we wouldn't have to. It was very nice of them.)
When they gave it to my father, they said my bookmarks should be on there. Well, when we came home and hooked the computer up, the only book marks there were some from years ago, but not mine. I DIDN'T ever save my book marks to a specific file; I would just click the Bookmarks tab, hit Bookmark This Page, and then click Done, and it would appear at the bottom.
Well, my book marks are not there and I cannot find them any where; no site has helped and they are VERY important. My dad refuses to talk to the tech guys again, so I would REALLY appreciate help.

How do I remove a download that keeps trying to download. Even when I click play it says it was downloaded from another computer and I am not authorized to play it, although it was actually purchased with the same apple id on my other computer. It has downloaded for the last two years every time i have opened up itunes. I remove it and then in ten minutes it starts downloading again, and interferes with my current purchases. please help
It may be a corrupt / damaged download.
If you live in a Region that allows re-downloading Music...
Delete the Song(s) and re-download...

I need help, I couldnt get into my iphone because I forgot the password and I couldnt hook my iphone up to the computer with all my music on it. If your music was purcansed from the iTunes Store and your country allow is you can redownload it
Login to itunes as yourself on this computer then

You will also need to authorise that computer so you can play the content.
Ctrl B to turn on the top menu
Store > Authorise this Computer...
Type in your Apple ID and password and authorise. -
Backing up and restoring to another computer
Before upgrading to 10.5.7, I was able to back up iCal on one computer, then restore it on another computer so I would have a duplicate just in case. Now it won't do it at all. Both iCal versions 3.0.7 are the same on both computers. I'm starting to regret buying Leopart 10.5 altogether. Should've stayed with the old 10.4.
Can anyone help?? Is Apple working on a fix?

How did you do that, i.e. what kind of duplicate did you have?

Both iCal versions 3.0.7 are the same on both computers.
Did you apply 10.5.7 to both computers?
If you used Software Update, I would suggest that you try the OS X 10.5.7 Combo Update.

I have tried a lot of installs/clean uninstalls of DM to get my Bold 9700 to connect with the Desktop Manager. It did once a week ago but never did a proper sync? Since then I've done a ton of reading and trying to get this darn thing to synch.
I'm running Windows Vista SP2, Dell laptop and trying to use version 6.0 of Desktop Manager. The odd thing that I run into is that if I log on to my computer as a guest and open the Desktop Manager it recognizes the BB. I'm almost thinking to move my outlook and all my settings there and delete my current windows account... There has to be a setting on the computer system that is not allowing the connection on my current login. If I can login as another user and get DM to work than that shows the USB connection is good and device manager drivers are working, other software is not the cause (firewalls, virus checkers etc.). What computer setting am I missing???
I've done a clean uninstall and reinstall of the software, I've done the hard reset on the BB, I've done the new USB cable and different USB port. Can you lead me through some other ideas or suggestions? I'm at a lost and next to never post for help because most times I can find a resolution on these types of forums. Haven't found anyone mentioning the fact of logging into another computer account to see that the BB is connected and recognized. Completely stumped but in my defense I'm new to the Blackberry world and any suggestions are greatly appreciated! ITunes won't let me open it up on my desktop - says it is open on another computer
My desktop is not allowing me to play iTunes because it will tell me that it is open on another computer. I have checked all of my computers as well as tablets and phones and it isn't running.
