Synchronization to Yahoo

I set up my 8310 curve to sync with my Yahoo address book several months ago. All was well until today May 10, when I started getting an error message when I executed the sync. The error message is: Cannot log into Yahoo. Please check your user name and password and try again.
I have not changed anything, and the problem just started today. Has anybody else had this new problem ?

I had a similar, but not exactly the same problem synching Yahoo Address Book with Blackberry. It worked fine with Desktop 5.0.1 and my 8350, as did the Yahoo Calendar. Then, it started to hang up when synching Address Book. No error messages, it would simply stop after reading all the records and then activity bar will fill completely...then it would just stop. I had not updated device software, nor desktop software. Backleveled to 5.0 Desktop and it still hung up. Happened once before, but began to work on its own. Blackberry support has not been helpful and said Yahoo isn't "really" supported.

Wireless Synchronization with Yahoo or Google?

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if it is possible to sync wirelessly with Yahoo Calendar/Contacts or Google Calendar/Contacts? It would really be nice if when I add an appointment on my BB that it would sync up to my Yahoo Calendar without having to hook the BB up to my laptop. My email is reconciled with Yahoo so I thought there might be a way for the Calendars to reconcile too.

Both yahoo and Google have synced calendars and in fact can sync multiple calendars!

Can't sync mail with Yahoo mail

I want to transfer my Yahoo contacts to Apple's mail program. I checked "synchronize with Yahoo" in my Address Book Preferences. I also went to Isync preferences and checked all there, including "enable syncing on my computer." The next thing I'm supposed to do is hit the "Sync now" button from pull down preferences but I don't have a Sync Now button. I don't want to select devices because I don't want to sync a device. Basically, I can't figure out how to get the Isync program to sync now.

iSync itself is only for syncing Contacts and Calendars to non-Apple mobile phones via a USB or Bluetooth connection. However the iSync application does provide access to a couple of settings that affect system-wide syncing.
To turn on the Sync menu, open iSync's Preferences, and then check the *Show status in menu bar* option

Address book sync with Yahoo

I am trying to sync my IMac address book with my Yahoo address book under the IMac Preferences and the option to "Synchronize with Yahoo" box is grey'ed out and won't allow me to select it.
This applies to the Google also.
How do I enable the Synchronize with Yahoo?

Unfortunately, mende1 method didn't work for me too. I am still waiting for a solution...

Downloading my Contact list from Yahoo

Please I need help from pals. I change my Blackberry phone from Blackberry Storm 2 to Bold 5 (9900). I use to back up my contact list on Yahoo and synchronizes same using my Desktop Software Manager. Presently now, despite the proper configurations of all my 5 e-mails addresses, it is only 2 e-mail addresses that appeared on my phone contact default option e-mail addresses. To make the matter worse, during synchronization of the contact list on the Desktop Software Manager, it is only Miscrosoft Outlook and Windows Contact that appeared as the platforms that can be used to sychronize. Thereby, denying me the opportunity to use Yahoo to import my contact on my phone. What must I do to resolve it. Your advice will go a long way to help resolve the stress I am passing through. Nokia Messaging error when sync: "Unable to perfor...

Hi everybody,
I've just moved from Vodafone to Simyo. Since I changed the sim card in my N97 mini, every time I try to synchronize my Yahoo or Gmail account through my 3G connection (no problem through WiFi) all I get is an "Unable to perform operation" error.
The rest of internet services (MfE contacts-sync, apps, browser, gps, etc) work like a charm through either 3G or WiFi connection.
My firmware is the last one (v30.0.016). I uninstalled all applications and made a hard-reset to start from scratch. The first thing I did was to config Nokia Messaging with no different results...
I need mail service in my cell and I can't be depending on a WiFi connection to perform mail operations... so if there is no solution within sight I'll have to consider to get rid of this (otherwise) great mobile phone.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but when I have problems switching to a different SIM card, I send a SMS to the provider, who sends back a "service message" which automatically sets all the internal connection settings. This almost always seems to work.

Blackberry 8330 Syncing issues

I have been trying to sync my phone for the past week and each and every time I attempt it I get an error message saying that Yahoo is inaccesible at this time and try back in a few minutes. I talked to Tech Support and they referred me to Blackberry and still have yet to reach anyone at Blackberry without having to pay. I REFUSE TO PAY for this. I have never had an issue syncing my phone. I even updated my Desktop Manager Software and still no luck. So I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it thinking that it would help, but still no luck. I just want my phone to sync so that all of my contacts are up to date. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I have listed an article and steps below that will help in syncing your Yahoo contacts with your Blackberry device.
***Before following the steps below I would recommend a soft reset of your device. A soft reset is where you would remove the battery for a few moments, and place the battery back in the device. The device will power up automatically.
***I would also recommend resetting your current Synchronization settings (on the Blackberry Desktop Manager) to ensure the proper steps are taken. To do this, follow the steps below:
-Connect the device to the computer using the USB cable / cradle.
-Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
-Click on Synchronize
-Click on Synchronization on the left hand side
-Click the “Reset configuration” button.

avast free antivirus current version 8.0 (40527), is blocking some yahoo email synchronization in OSX Mavericks 10.9.1. I am working with the current Mavericks Mail version 7.1 (1827)
After disabling the avast antivirus, almost all my yahoo emails (except one) had being syncronized.

You can disable the Mail shield in Avast to prevent this from happening but it will mean Avast no longer keeps an eye on your email, at all. Your best bet is to contact Avast support about this and see what they have to say. You can call them, email them or post on their forum where other Avast users can help out: http://www.avast.com/en-us/support

Synchronize local Mail with Yahoo

I have configured Apple Mail to receive mails from my Yahoo a/c. And regularly use the "Mailbox>Synchronize 'Yahoo'" option to synchronize mails between the two. My understanding of 'Synchronization' is that I have the same set of emails in all my folders on my local drive (Apple Mail) as that on my Yahoo server (online account). However, I notice that this is not the case.
My 'Inbox' seems to have the same mails. However the 'Sent' items do not. When I send an email from 'Apple Mail', it does not appear in the Sent items when I access Yahoo by logging onto the Yahoo server through Safari. And vice-versa.
Can someone help me with how to synchronize the two so that I always have all mails on both - Mail as well as Yahoo server?

If it's a free Yahoo! mail account, you can't without something like MacFreePOPs. If you've bought one of the Yahoo! Plus mail accounts, there are instructions on Yahoo's site.

Not that I am aware of. There is no standard for tasks or their transmission. There is therefore no "point" that Lightning can contact to ask for tasks to synchronise

Un-synchronize ML Mail from Yahoo account?

Just got ML yesterday and i'd like my Mail app to behave the same as it did in SL. I'd like it to be set that I can delete emails on my Yahoo email page through my browser, but that they are then NOT also deleted on my ML Mail app.
In SL I could delete email on Yahoo, but they'd still remain on SL Mail.
How can I do this in ML Mail please?

I spent an hour on the phone with Yahoo Tech support yesterday (since I pay for it I figured I might as well try)..
Long story short -- they weren't much help.
Yahoo outsources their tech support and so it was hard to understand this guy to begin with.. but he kept giving me a song and dance about how "yahoo's servers were so very powerful" they can't be connected to multiple devices.
Meaning, you can't be logged in and checking your yahoo mail via a webpage, and via another device at the same time. It would put your yahoo mail account into "error state 5"...
I pay for yahoo specifically so I can use the iPhone and the Webmail at the same time.. You can't get the pop/smtp access without paying for it.. And now they are telling me that its not possible to do this?
I don't buy it.. His excuses really didn't make sense to me.. I don't understand why I can't be logged in via two different devices..
