"synchronization type" in "sp_helpsubscription"

HI everybody,
i am using transactional replication, Publisher+Distributor - SQL2005 EntEd + SP2+CU11, Subscribers - SQL2005 ExpressEditionSP2.
What is the meaning of value 3 in the column "synchronization type" in a result set of procedure "sp_helpsubscription"? The BOL describes only the values 1 and 2.

In case someone needs to know: "synchronization type" value 3: means the sync type for subscription is "replication support only"; value 4 means "initialize with backup". The sync type is the parameter @sync_type used in sp_addsubscription.
I can confirm it from my current environment.

  • Oracle eSSO - File System Synchronization

I'm having a lot of trouble just setting up a simple file system synchronization for Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On v10.1.0.2 or v10.1.0.4 (I've tried both). I've tried it many ways, but the agent never seems to be visible to the admin console. Here is the simplest example:
On a single test machine, install the Admin Console. Use the Admin Console to create a new set of Global Agent Settings. Leave everything to default except under Synchronization, click Manage Synchronizers. Create a new synchronizer with synch type 'File System'. Go to the Required subkey and enter a network share under 'Server'. In this example, I created a share on the same local machine. The share gives 'Full Control' to 'Everyone' and 'Domain Users' groups. Save these settings in the Admin Console. Then Go to Tools > Generate Customized MSI in the Admin Console, exporting the newly created Global Agent Settings to the customized agent installer MSI. Then on the same test machine, install the agent by using the customized MSI. During the agent installation, choose 'Custom' and enable installation of Extensions > Synchronization Manager and File System synchronization type.
So, that's what I've done. When I then go back to the Admin Console and connect to the repository (the share setup on the local machine) and select 'Configure SSO Support', the result is that it creates a folder called 'People' and two override objects: ENTLIST and ADMINOVERRIDE. That's it. No matter how many or where I install agents on this computer or elsewhere on the network 1) the admin console does not seem to see them 2) the ENTLIST of customized applications never gets pushed to the agents. In fact the ENTLIST shown in the Repository within the Admin Console does not seem to update when the apps list in the admin console is updated (even if I press 'Refresh' in the repository).
Can anyone help? Is it something silly like the order in which I've done things, or did I miss a step somewhere?

    Hi,
I have the same problem, but I use an Active Directory in the basckend :o(
I'm able to configure the admin console (connection to AD, create a global agent for my AD server). When I install the ESSO-Agent on the same machine (where the administrative console is already installed)...it's quite easy because the following "option" is available : "Export Apps to Agent"!!! Using this, there is no problem.
On the other hand, when I install the ESSO-Agent on the user's workstation...it's really an other story :o( For the monent, I'm not able to get the credentials (pre-configured applications) from Active Directory. I think that the (Global Agent) settings have been successfully pushed into AD, but I'm not able to get them from the user's workstation.
What are the steps to realize this operation (get the pre-configured applications from AD)?
I always get a connection window which requires the following three parameters: username, password and user path.
Because AD is my backend server, I thought that the following "values" were correct...., but that's not the case, and I'm sure that I'm not connected to AD:
    username: cn=toto toto,cn=users,dc=name,dc=com
    password: mypwd
    user path: dc=name,dc=com
I hope that you have resolved your problem, and that someone could help me :o)
    Thanks a lot.

  • Regarding Syncbo types in MI

    Hi,
Please let me know as the difference between Two way synchronization BO and Timed Two way synchronization BO.
When shud we go for S01 and when for T01 Sync BO

    Raja Sekhar

    Hi
<b>2-way</b> Executes both data download and upload in each access from a client to the server. The delta BO determination between the application DB in the backend system and the mobile client local DB is triggered in each access. This means it is based on the latest state of the backend system at the point of each access. However, the performance can be low, as it is synchronously performed.
<b>Timed 2-way</b> Executes both data download and upload in each access from a client to the server. Since the delta BO determination between the application DB in the backend system and the Replica DB for the device in Smart Synchronization is executed via periodical job, the performance is high. However, there might be cases where the Replica DB is not most up-to-date at the time of an access from the device.
    <i><b>Synchronization Type-</b></i>  Timed 2-Way (T01)
<b>Downloader-</b>Executed. Base data for delta detection is replication database.
<b>Uploader-</b> Executed if message contains upload data

  • Failed to install 1 file

I recently upgraded to a Palm T/X and after a couple of issues with synchronizing and installing files I think I've  got the issues solved by changing the conduit of certain programs and upgrading to the new Palm Desktop (which I don't like as well as the old one but, Oh well!) it works OK specially installing files and that is all that matters.  My recent issue is with a program I bought to back up my Palm since I no longer could do it by just inserting the backup card and restoring or backing up. This is the message I get when synchronizing: Failed to install 1 file(s) - BackupBuddyVFS.PRC - Invalid handheld file (file deleted) -  Conduit Error: Invalid synchronization type (1012) - CONDERR_BAD_SYNC_TYPE.
I appreciate any help I can get, hopefully this is the last issue I have and I can start enjoying my new Palm.
    Thanks!!!

I upgraded from a Palm Zire72 and I'm pretty sure I followed the installation and synch instructions but I don't recall it asking to rename the backup file but I may be wrong.  I've downloaded other applications including NVBackup without any problems.  I guess I don't need it now since I have NVBackup but I paid for BackupBuddy and would like to see what it does.  The one thing I can tell you is that I deleted a few files that I thought I no longer needed to make some room such as a couple of games and AvantGo.  Hope this gives you some ideas and can help figure it out.

  • Doing catalog work on laptop when away from desktop computer

I just recently moved from doing all my work on a single machine (laptop, MacBook Pro) connected to a 5 bay external hard drive to using 2 machines, a desktop (Mac Pro) hooked up to the 5 bay eternal HD and the laptop.
My set up - Desktop running Snow Leopard, Laptop Leopard. They are networked with an Airport Extreme. I log into the Desktop from the laptop rather than use File Sharing.
I'm still using Lightroom 2.7, single license, so I wouldn't have LR running on both machines at the same time. Catalog is stored on the Desktops internal HD - User/Pictures/Lightroom/Catalog. I use a single catalog, 30,000+ images. Catalog is approx 550MB.
I've got it pretty well figured out how to export a catalog from the laptop to the desktop after returning with images from a shoot, but, while I work a lot at my desk on the desktop, I want to be able to work on my catalog with my laptop. Hoping for some advise on how to do that. I'm looking to only do catalog type work on the laptop - evaluating, rating, deleting, keywording etc. I will not be doing any Developing or working on the actual image files, which are stored on the external 5 bay HD connected to the Desktop.
    2 situations:
    1. When I'm in another part of my space with my laptop and connected to my desktop (wireless), I go to the catalog located on the Desktop, I get a msg that Lightroom catalogs cannot be opened on network volumes. So how do I simply work on my LR catalog, using the laptop, when I'm networked to the Desktop?
    2. When I'm away from my space, traveling etc, so not networked to the desktop. In this case I assume I would want to Export a copy of the catalog onto the laptop or a small portable HD and work on it while I'm away. But when I return, should I then Export the whole catalog back to the Desktop, or is there a Synchronize type function where LR updates the changes only? Is there a safe way to do this that minimizes the risk of introducing errors if the whole master catalog is moved back and forth? Should I break up my single large catalog in to smaller bite sized chunks that would be easier to move back and forth?
Thanks for any advise. If this is easier to accomplish on LR 3, that would be a good reason to upgrade.

My master catalogs are heftier than I want to clone all over the place so I use the following method.
In LR, put the files you want to work on in a subfolder of your Primary catalog
Export Folder As Catalog with previews, but without including the DNG's
At your new location/machine work on that catalog.
Here's the part that's no fun, (obviously have a backup of your catalog before you do this)
In your primary catalog REMOVE that folder from your catalog. (this will remove all references within your catalog, but leave the RAW files alone where they were)
You then FILE-->IMPORT FROM ANOTHER CATALOG, and import your subfolder export back into your Primary catalog.
It'll bring all of your changes and previews back into your Primary catalog but with unlinked RAW files.
Click on the question mark in the corner of the thumbnail that's telling you it doesn't know where the source files are and LOCATE the original file again in your file structure, with the FIND NEARBY MISSING PHOTOS box checked.
Overly complicated for what it is, but it gets the job done.

  • Exchange value from a running sequence teststand and an independent vi LabView.

I have a teststand sequence, which runs with a local variable.
I want to read this local variable in a independent vi.
    Are you an Idea ?

    Sebus,
I'm not sure what you mean by an "independent vi".
If you have a VI that TestStand calls, the post entitled In TestStand, how to pass data to LabVIEW will probably be very helpful. In addition, there are Getting Started guides that explain this concept and with TestStand 3.0, there is a whole manual called "Using TestStand with LabVIEW" that walks you through step by step how to use TestStand and LabVIEW together.
If you have a VI that executes your test, this VI would be considered an Operator Interface. For this situation, you can use the TestStand concept of UIMessages to pass data from your sequence to the operator interface. This is described in more detail in the TestStand help. UIMessages are a TestStand object that you can pass from your sequence to your operator interface. Since the engine actually executes the sequence, you do not have access to the internal sequence characteristics mid-execution. By using the UIMessages, you can have your sequence automatically send data, and then your Operator Interface will retrieve these messages.
The third scenario is where your VI is not connected to TestStand at all. In this case, if you truly have no connection to TestStand, this is not possible. However, if there is a common shared application then you can use that to pass data. For instance, you could use Datasocket (see DataSocket Overview
for a brief synopsis) and have TestStand pass the value of the local variable and have LabVIEW read from Datasocket. There is also an ActiveX server that TestStand has called the Synchronization server. This is used internally with the Synchronization step types. However, since it is based upon ActiveX you can use each of the methods and properties that are available; the functions just are not documented. You could use the queue synchronization type to pass data from TestStand to your independent LabVIEW VI.
If this does not answer your question, please let us know and clarify what you mean by an independent VI. Also, the versions of TestStand and LabVIEW would be helpful.

  • E72 - Calendar not syncing via USB data cable (Out...

    PROBLEM:
Syncing the E72-2 Calendar to Outlook over USB Data cable returned synchronization errors.
    HISTORY:
Previously was using MfE and Google Calendar as a go-between from Outlook 2003 to my E72. It worked OK for a couple of weeks, but then turned to **** (appointments disappearing from phone, duplicates that couldn't be deleted, sending tons of 'decline' messages to work colleagues from my personal Gmail account...etc. etc.)  It is abundantly clear that MfE and Google Calendar were not meant to play together at this point in time.
Next strategy was to use PC Suite to sync with the Outlook calendar directly via cable.  This was not successful either.  The default Sync profile on the phone only offers Data Bearer of Bluetooth or GPRS, no cable.  Sure enough, PC Suite would fail immediately with 0 events synced, saying to check the Idle status of the phone.
    SOLUTION that worked for me:
    Overview:
    - Delete all calendar entries on the phone, even those that are 'stuck'. (Note: you DON'T need to wipe your phone for this - that is Nokia's lazy solution but there are easier ways.)
    - Run PC Suite Cleaner from Nokia
    - Reinstall PC Suite
    - Run PC Suite, connect the phone via USB only when prompted
    - Configure the Sync profile on the phone
    - Configure the Sync application on the PC
    - Sync!
    Details:
0a. Clean off all calendar entries from the phone. To get rid of stubborn ones, you can try to sync the phone via bluetooth or internet to an empty Google or other calendar to remove all entries. (I did this by syncing to an empty iCal calendar on my Mac)  Alternatively, you can also connect the phone to PC Suite, then open the phone calendar in PC Suite and delete all appointments using the trash can button.  (Recurring series will only need to be deleted once.)
0b. Exit PC Suite.  Ensure it is not still running in the Taskbar.
    1. Run the Nokia PC Suite Cleaner, downloadable from Nokia's support site. Restart when prompted.
    2. Re-install PC Suite version 7.1.40.6
    3. Run PC Suite before connecting the phone.
3a. Select Cable connection, then connect the phone when prompted.
3b. PC Suite should install the necessary drivers and software (if this is working, you will see several USB device popups in your taskbar.)
    4. On the phone, go to Ctrl Panel --> Phone --> Sync.
4a. If you have been messing around with MfE or other sync methods, delete those extraneous sync profiles from the phone. Go to "Change Active Profile" - if you see anything besides 'PC Suite', select it and then choose 'Delete' from the Options menu.
4b. After any extra Sync profiles are gone, the phone will default back to 'PC Suite.' Ensure the PIM data you wish to sync (Calendar, etc.) is selected with a red X.
4c. It does not seem to matter what you select for Data Bearer - I am using Bluetooth and that's working even though the target PC does not have it.
4d. 'Allow sync requests' should be set to 'Automatically accept'
4e. For 'Synchronization type' select the value that works for you. ('To phone only')
    5. Run the Sync application in PC Suite.
5b. Ensure the phone has not automatically locked itself.
5c. Click the 'Sync' button in the PC Sync app.
5d. You should see Connecting....Waiting....Reading.....etc.  while the content is syncing.
5e. If it stops after Waiting and returns a communication error, you may need to try the above steps again, and/or do a clean install on your phone. :-(
Hope this helps someone out there.   Note that this is mostly from memory, so if I inadvertently skipped any steps or if anything needs further clarification, please respond to this thread to help future readers.

Herve55 I can confirm that the DC-6 (remember to buy the the one with USB-micro connection) works.
However the only reason for me wanting to use the supplied USB to USB-micro cable in the car (with 3rd party cigarette adapter) was to first, get rid of that annoying spiral cord and second to have the data cable with me at all times.
Sad to say that I´eve by now definitely tried all possible solutions for the data cable "CA-101" without any luck.
My N97 witch I was very satisfied with at start started to burn battery, reboot, loose memory, become sluggish and then after 8 months of aggravation i sent it on a flyer in the wall.
I have now after 15 years changed brand.
Conclusively the guys at Nokia seems to carry to many models for any possibility of making further great phones! in other words they´v gone sloppy.

  • Which one of these options are better for CDS updation?

    Hi,
I was going through the data flow in the outbound direction in NW mobile.
the data object instances in the CDS are updated by 3 means:
    1)  DOE triggered
    2) backend triggered
    3) backend pushes instance to DOE.
which one of these is better.
kindly explain the reason as well.

    Hi,
Actually there are only two types of Synchronization types between Backend & DOE,
    1. DOE Triggered
    2. Backend Triggered
DOE triggered adapters will pull the data from Backend to DOE where as Backend triggered adapters will push the data from Backend to DOE (there are two types in BE triggered, Key push & Instance push).
Backend triggered sync type is always better since the changes have been pushed to the DOE then & there (this can be achieved by event,etc..). So that always DOE & Backend will be consistent & the receivers (devices) will also get the latest data in order to proceed with their day to day activities (i.e. business critical data).

  • Versamail and Exchange Server

    Hello,
I currently own a Treo 755p with Sprint. I have been trying to set up my Versamail v3.5.5 with Exchange Activesync and I keep getting errors when I try to set it up.
When I setup my account and click on test, it looks OK.
But when I click on SYNC, I get the following error message:
    "AirSAMStateMachine.c 2214 6 HTTP/1.1 403 Request Forbidden Connection: Keep-Alive Date:Fri, 28 Aug 2009 03:04:49 GMT Content-type:te"
I already know that if I go to the web app on my palm and put the address that I'm trying to access is working:
    htpps://webmail.fiserv.com
When I go to the web on my laptop and type the same address, that address is automatically changed to:
    https://webmail.fiserv.com/Exchweb/bin/auth/owalogon.asp?url=https://webmail.fiserv.com/Exchange&reason=0
Any ideas please?  I'm open to use ANY Mail Reader. I know that many people in my company has access to email using their PDA's (Blachberry), but I want to keep my palm.
    Thanks

VersaMail v4.0.1 Build 77 (aka 407) definitely works with the Treo 755p. I am using it now however I am having a problem with it used with Exchange Server when a certificate is used.
When I sync my treo 755p to add the certificate database to the device following article 43375_en I receive the following error messages...
     Failed to install any files
     Duration: 1.3 seconds
     Failed to install 1 file(s)
     CertMgrDB.PDB
     Invalid handheld file (file deleted)
Conduit Error: Invalid synchronization type. (1012)
     CONDERR_BAD_SYNC_TYPE
Anyone having a similar problem?  I have had no viable specialist or escalation team support to speak of after 90 hours of wait time (and 10 hours of cue and first level support time) after multiple requests to both Palm and Verizon.  Their only recommendation was a Hard reset which I have since resorted to with no avail. The Palm kb has no answers to this problem and the "Problem Type" drop down of Chat with Palm doesn't populate so it won't even let me request support there.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?  Effective today, Verizon has discontinued providing outgoing smtp servers & I am now forced to use corporate company sponsored email.  Everyone else in the company except one chap is on Blackberry.  I ask you, is this any way to win friends and influence people?

  • Instance Push doubt about getList bapi wrapper

    Hi guys.
Another question: Is necessary to implement getList and getdatails bapi wrapper in backend adapter whose Synchronization  Type backend trigerred  and Direction only download?

    Hi,
It is not mandatory to have both GetList and GetDetail.
If you have only one structure in your BAPI, which is a header/root node and if you return the whole instance rather than just the backend key, then only GetList BAPI wrapper is enough.
But if you have root node along with some child nodes, then you need GetList and GetDetail both. Getlist returning either just Backendkey or whole root node and then a GetDetail which returns whole root along with all child nodes.

  • FIM Synchronization Service - How to provsion a group to another object type

    Hi,
i'm new to fim and use just the fim2010 synchronization engine with some rules extensions.
I have 2 ActiveDirectories and want to Provision a Group(used as Distribution list) from ActiveDirectory A as a contact object in ActiveDirectory B with the SMTP address of the Group as the targetaddress of the contact.
Can you give me a hint how to accomplish that?
Should i use the ShouldProjectToMV() Method in the rulesextension from the AD Connector of Domain A and out the Group as a Special mvtype? How do i join (what anchor to use) the Group to Domain B if i also sync normal contact objects as well?
    Thanks you for your help!

If you want to decide that object is deleted you need to implement your de-provisioning logic.
De-provisioning logic should be implemented in Provision method as well. You need there something like:
    if(I_dont_have_contact_for_group)
    Provison_new_one
    } else
    if(do_I_Have_email_on_my_group_in_mv)
    No -> delete_contact_in_other_forest
Depends on the target agent scope, if you have there other object types than contacts, you may want to implement Deprovision() method in agent extension to decide that contact should be deleted but other type of objects not.

  • Asset - Equipment Synchronization (Object type)

    Hi Experts,
In our system, Asset-Equipment synchronization is activated. An equipment will be automatically created upon creation of an Asset.
Asset Class(Eg: 10006) is sync with Equipment category(eg : M) and equipment are created automatically. A set of Evaluation group 1(Eg: F001,F002, F003,F004,F005) are defined and Equipment Object types (Eg; F001, F002, F003) are defined for selected corresponding evaluation group 1 values
It is required to create equipment ONLY for those selected Object types (Eg; F001, F002, F003). Equipment should not be created for all.
Config allows to add one object type for Asset Class-Equipment category combination
How should i add more object types to same Asset Class-Equipment category combination?
    i.e. :
    Asset Class : 10006
    Equipcategory: M
    Object Type: F002
    Asset Class : 10006
    Equipcategory: M
    Object Type: F003
Is it possible to do so...
    Appreciate your guidance

    Dear Sank
Standard Method: It is 1:1:1 assignment for Asset Class, Equipment Category and Object type.
Note that an asset class can be assigned at most to one combination of equipment category and object type. On the other hand, more than one asset class can assigned to the same combination.
However you can maintain Asset class and Equipment category assignment without any object type assignment so you would be able to create equipmetnts for all object types with specified equipment category.
User exits: AAPM0001 can be looked into to suit your requirement

  • Tips for Backup Types: Copy v. Synchronize v. Incremental

Hello,  I'd like more information, definitions and example best uses for the different backup types offered by the dashboard.  When I make a backup job, I schedule it and then am asked for what type of backup.  Although I can predict or assume what each one does, I'd still like to know more about which I should choose. 1) What is the official WD definitions of the different types? 2) What are the best scenarios for each? 3)  Example:  I created a remote backup to copy files from my office EX4 to my home EX4.  It is scheduled to run monthly.  what is the best backup type for this task?4) If I select "Copy" as the backup type, will the backup job copy all of the files over?  Will it create a new separate duplicate backup (eating up tons of memory over time)?5)  If I want to modify the backup type, how do I edit the job?  The only options on the jobs list are start backup, restore, delete job, and job detail.  Where is the "edit job" option? Thank you everyone! -Opus

    Hi,
For remote backups, you have two options, Copy and Synchronization.
Copy, will add new files and will update the existing one.
Synch, after the original backup, if you remove a file from the source, it will be deleted from the target when you run the next backup.
