Synchronize 755P Palm issues

When I sync my 755P I keep getting the following error message (see log below) -
can anyone help??? Not sure what "restore synchronization is" and not sure what the rest means - yet it says the operation was completed.
Restore synchronization failed
Protocol Error: File already exists. (400B)
HotSync operation completed on 01/30/08 22:19:59

During an installation session it is trying to install something from your backup folder back to your device and it already exists.
You can try doing this.
Navigate to your user folder it will be in c:/program files/palm/truncated version of your username/
In your username folder you will see backup. Rename to backup.old
When you resync it will recreate itself and see if the error message comes back.

  • Download iSync 1.2 Palm Conduit but can not use synchronize my Palm

I bought iPod Touch (32G) and I want to use only this device from now on, but I have problems to find a suitable way to synchronize all my contacts and calendar information from my old Palm V into the iMac address book and iCal and finally into my new iPod Touch.
What I tried to do until now was, that I download 'iSync 1.2 Palm Conduit' and I want to install but the system told me „iSync Palm Conduit“ can not be installed on this computer, for this version of "iSync Palm Conduit" you have firstly to install iSync 1.2!
On my iMac programs I found "iSync" program version 3.0.2. so I tried to find the version 1.2. in the Apple-world but I had no success to find this version.
Please can somebody help me out to solve this problem and to find a suitable way to synchronize my Palm information to my iMac and iPod Touch? Also answers in German language are welcome! Thank you in advance and have a great day!

I want to replace my palm V and I want to use iCal and the Mac address book and my new iPod touch in future, so that means I intend to invoke a one-time unidirectional transfer of contact information to the Address Book and iCal to support future synchronization of an iPod Touch via iTunes?
No further sync operation with Palm devices required. I do not intend to continue to synchronize my Palm V in the future with the Palm Desktop or the Address Book and iCal using iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit! As far as I understand in case I want to use iSync I needs to have in general a Bluetooth device to perform the sync operation, so and my old Palm V do not have this function!
As newcomer in the Mac-World I have firstly no idea about MobileMe, so I do not intend at the moment to synchronize contact, event and task data with the MobileMe environment!
And finally I deleted the Palm Desktop already because I made some thing wrong.
You can help me now and let me know how I get my contacts to the MAc address book and my calender information to iCal?
Thank you in advance and kind regards.

  • Has a solution been found for the Treo 755p FREEZING issue?

I have been an owner of a Treo 755p (Verizon Wireless) for 18 months now, and have had freezing issues since day one. I love the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but the freezing issue I think are getting more frequent, and I am at the end of my rope. I have been trying to hold out to see if the Treo Pro would finally come to Verizon Wireless, but if I can't resolve the freezing (10-15 seconds) issue I might upgrade to a Windows 6.1 phone.
Has there been any patches or scenarios released on how to fix this?
I have no 3rd party software installed, and it has the latest updates.
PLEASE HELP SAVE ME FROM MURDERING MY TREO!!!
Post relates to: Treo 755p (Verizon)

If there is something in the backup folder, in your username folder on the PC, that is causing an issue we need to rename the backup folder and hard reset the Treo.
    Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;
    XP
C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
    Vista
Start-->documents\Palm OS Desktop\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
Then hotsync to your current hotsync name and all your contacts, calendar,
tasks, and memos will come back over.
Show file extensions for XP or Vista
    XP
If you can not view file extensions on your PC I would like you to open a
folder go to Tools-->Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.
    Vista
Open control Panel go to Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.

  • User synchronization SUS-BW issue.

    Hello Experts,
Your help is required for the following issue.
One of our clients is implementing SRM-SUS 7.02 and would like to synchronize users (and information regarding BP) to their BW system 7.3
Configuration so far is as follows: SPRO -> SAP SRM -> Supplier Self-Services -> Master Data -> Maintain systems for Synchronization of User Data.
    Parameters:
    System Name: BW DEV
    FM BPID: RS_BW_BCT_SRM_SUS_USER_BPID
    Role: <blank>
    F Mod.: Create User: BAPI_USER_CREATE
    F Mod.: Change User: BAPI_USER_CHANGE
    F Mod.: Delete User: BAPI_USER_DELETE
"Roles in external system" have been mapped.
Now, when a user (vendor contact person) is created in SUS, it's SU01 user is created correctly in BW. No problems here.
However, when I check table SRM_USER_SUPBPID in BW system, there are ZERO entries.
I guess I am missing something here.
I checked BADI SMUM_USR_CREATE_POST, and implementation RSSBR_SMUM_CRM_SUS is Active.
Should an entry exist in table SMUM_BSAPP? If so, what should I type in "BSID" field.
Any light on this matter is greatly appreciated.

    Gilberto Gallardo

  • Synchronizing Palm Centro Windows 7 (64 bit)

I was dismayed to discover, when I had to purchase a new PC, which came with Windows 7 (64 bit), that my Centro (Verizon) could not HotSync via the USB cable.  I did find the following instructions to HotSync with Bluetooth (with which I am not familiar).
    http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/49229_en.html
I purchased a Targus Bluetooth 2.0 Adapter (ACB10US) at our local Staples, then phoned Targus to verify that it i
s compatible with Windows 7 (64 bit).  I was advised that it is - to follow the installation directions (for Vista) in the package and, if it did not install successfully to download an update from the Broadcom website - but, this was not necessary.
Once I installed the Bluetooth Adapter and it appeared on my PC as a device, I followed the directions on the page above, but my Centro did not find my PC.
I phoned Palm Support and a rep guided me through configuring the Bluetooth settings and settings in HotSync Manager to change for first time synchronization.  My Centro "found" my PC and I was able to successfully HotSync!  It took a while (about 25 minutes) as I have a lot of third party programs on the Centro.  There was only one minor error (SysZLib.prc already exists), but everything else appears to be just fine, including adding files to third party desktop programs (E-Wallet, ThoughtManager, etc.).  Everything seems fine.
I hope this will be helpful to others with a Palm Centro and Windows 7 (64 bit).

  • Synchronizing Palm Treo 680 Unlocked with Outlook 2003 on Windows 7

After 2 full install and reinstall of Palm 6.2 I cannot synch my Outlook 2003 and Palm Treo 680
Hotsynch Journal says everything has synchronized correctly but new meetings and task changes in one platform do not appear on other platform.
There is an error mentioned for file PmTrcae Database (Protocol error 4004)
I must mention that Installation process seems to drop after announcing that first hotsynch will be performed, it never does, I had to start it manually from the Treo.

  • Synchronization palm m500 with mac ?

I have bought a macbook. There I use snow leopard and windows. I´ve put palm one desktop on both (leopard and windows). When I plug in the usb with my syncronization-station it only work under windows.
But I need my calender in snow leopard also, since I want to get my calender into my iPhone.
I´ve also bought the program missing sync already. But nothing works. What do I have to do ?

RIM devices cannot sync with Palm Desktop in any flavor.  They do however have their own desktop software that can pull data from Palm Desktop.
A little research on the Blackberry website will find your answers.

Just for statistical purposes, did anybody ever suceed in a synchronization between Oracle and Palm?

  • Adobe reader for palm issue

I want to be able to read eBooks on my
Palm Tungsten T5 running Palm OS Garnet v 5.4.5
Palm Desktop 4.2.1 on Mac G5 OS 10.3.9
    also using iSync 1.5
I've installed Adobe reader for Palm OS 3.05 on my Mac,
and it's installed fine on my Palm T5.
But, I've used the Adobe reader for Palm application on the Mac to add files to be transfered to the palm.
The application asks me to press the HotSync button, which I do. The Palm carrys out the HotSync,
but the pdf file is not transfered to the Palm.
    What could be going wrong?
I've read on a previous thread
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1404460&#1404460
that the problem might be caused by iSync,
and that I need to transfer the AcroConduit from Disabled Conduits to Conduits.
But there is no AcroConduit in either folder on my Mac...
Is there another reader I could use to read eBooks on my Palm?
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

This should work without a hitch, but only if the AcroConduit is present in your active Conduits folder, here:
    Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Palm HotSync
If you cannot find it on your machine, send a message to the address listed in my public profile, and I will reply with a copy of the AcroConduit which you can drag into your active Conduits folder.
You could also go here to once again download, then install, the Adobe Reader for Palm OS package:

  • Can't stop synchronization, and other issues...

I can't get my mobile accounts to NOT attempt home directory synchronization. It's a feature I've never used, will investigate at a point later in the future, and cannot figure out how to turn it off. It seems like some 10.4. server update started home directory synchronization on my mobile users against my will, just as Apple turned off the ability to "simultaneously login" for accounts (though they left the checkbox to enable the function. Guess it's just there for show) and I was using that.
All of my mobile users are getting synchronization errors, but I can't figure out what is triggering the attempt to synchronize in the first place, nor where the silly Mac wants to put the synchronized files. All I can see is that it's trying to synchronize to "Network". Nice and vague.
Additionally, when a desktop user wants to check out a laptop for the weekend I have to enable mobility for that account. When the user returns the laptop on Monday, I turn off mobility. Now that user gets two problems: their account remains mobile on the local desktop machine (which I have to clear through Netinfo Manager) even though I've unchecked everything possible in Workgroup Manager. Secondly, that desktop user now gets that same synchonization errors the laptop users get and I can't get it to stop.
Something seems broken, but I'm stumped as to what to do. If the user's system (laptop or desktop) believes it needs to synchronize to some remote location, where is that information kept and how can I modify it? Is there a list of remote synchronization points in my Workgropu Manager that I can modify to keep my mobile accounts from even trying to synchronize? How can I ask a user's system, "To what computer are you trying to synchronize yourself?" If it's synchronizing, it must be trying to copy the local files to some other place, but where?!~
    17 Powerbook - 1.5Ghz Mac OS X (10.4.4) 2GB RAM, Adobe CS2, Xcode 2.2

In Tiger, all mobile accounts synchronize by default. WGM allows you to change the current settings only. To turn off sync, manage both background and periodic sync "Always" and then use a empty table of sync items. Syncing is thus stopped.
To stop syncing an unmanaged mobile account, delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.homeSync.plist and ~/Library/Mirrors/*.
Simutaneous login prevention is really a per-home directory feature so it does not work for mobile accounts. See http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1733887#1733887

  • Isync conduit/adobe reader for palm issue

I just got a Tunsten E2 for Christmas. I'm somewhat new to this PDA world, so perhaps I'm missing something obvious. I installed the software, installed Adobe Reader for Palm OS and performed a HotSync. I then tried importing a PDF file to my handheld with no trouble. Then I saw via the Palm website that I could sync using isync via the isync conduit 1.2 from apple. So I downloaded that and followed the instructions to install it. Now my addresses and calendars sync flawlessly, but I can't seem to get Adobe Reader for Palm to transfer any more PDF files.
Has the isync conduit disabled a conduit for Adobe? Is there any way to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    J
P.S. I'm using Hotsync manager 3.2.1 and Palm Desktop 4.2.1

    Michael,
I've figured out what the problem is. When you install the isync conduit it removes any conduits that it feels it conflicts with. i.e. contacts, calendars, to do lists etc. It also, for some reason, removed the Adobe conduit named AcroConduit. I think this is a glitch in the isync conduit. Thankfully, the conflicting conduits that isync removes aren't deleted. They are simply put into a folder named "disabled conduits" located in the main "library" folder->"Application Support" -> "Palm HotSync", right next to the "Conduits" folder. So I just dragged the AcroConduit back to the "Conduits" folder and configured the conduit in HotSync Manager and, viola, all seems to be working fine... sort of.
It seems that Apple's Address Book and iCal don't exactly sync picture perfect on the palm pilot. email addresses where phone numbers should be, some addresses not showing up at all, calendars not showing up in the correct headings such as personal, business, etc. Apple and Palm could do better.

  • Daylight Savings Time issue with Palm Treo 755p/Missing Sync 6.0.6

I'm not sure where the fault is, but here's what a user sees here:
User has a Palm Treo 755p with the 1.08 software installed.
Since DST on March 14th, when he syncs the iCal information to the phone using Missing Sync 6.0.6, the information on the phone is pushed ahead one hour.
But the odd thing about it is how it shows on the phone.
User created a repeating event from March 12-20 from 9-10 a.m. called "test 9" for an example of this.
On March 12 and 13, this shows as "test 9" -- at 9:00 on the Treo
From the 14th on, it shows as: "test 9 (9 am EST)" -- but it is entered at *10:00* a.m.
What I don't know is if this is a Missing Sync issue or a Palm OS issue.
User's computer is running 10.6.2 -- and both computer and Palm are in the Eastern time zone.
I'm open for suggestions here -- is this a *Palm* issue? Or something else?
    Thanks!

We "fixed" this by noticing that -- for whatever reason -- Detroit (we're in Ann Arbor, actually) shows as "Eastern Standard Time" where it seems that every other major city in the time zone (Columbus, Indianapolis, New York, Miami, Philadelphia, etc...) shows as "Eastern Time".
So we set up iCal on this computer to use New York ("Eastern Time") and all the events added to iCal after that synced properly.
I tried to add "Detroit" to the Palm, but had no luck in syncing with that.  I think the "Eastern Time" thing is key.   I have a Bug Report into Apple about the fact that the time zone seems wrong for us.
That said, while I could  change pre-existing events from "Eastern Standard Time" to "Eastern Time" in iCal, those events did *NOT* sync to the Palm correctly.
The user had to delete/readd the events in the right "time zone" to get them to sync correctly.
I'd be curious to know if this solution (?) works for you as well.

  • Palm 755p not supported in Leopard?

I have been syncing my Palm 755p in Tiger using Missing Sync for some time. Then I upgraded to Leopard... Missing Sync didn't hold a connection, and the 6.0 version seems to have it's own problems, so I decided to try iSync.
The problem is that iSync won't even recognize the phone! When I try to add the device it says, "This device is not supported by iSync". But I see that others are using it with iSync in this forum. Any idea what's happening here?
    I'm on a MacBook, with a 10.5.1
    Brad

i had the same issue. I just did not use isync. Only certain devices are supported by isync. i have a 755p Palm. The Palm Treo 755p is not supported on the palm Tungsten and Zire families. The Pocket PC is also not supported see http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/.
You must purchase third party software from http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php from mark sync for $39.95. Then your palm Treo 755p can sync with ical and mac address book. Then you can publish your ical and address book to .mac (dotmac).
First, I installed the version of Palm that came on the CD with my phone. Then, I installed the latest version of the Palm v 4.2.1 Rev D from the website at http://www.palm.com/us/support/macintosh/macdesk421revd.html#sysreq. Then I did a hot sync to secure my information. Then I purchased and installed the missing palm sync from mark space. Then I hot synced again. I followed the instructions of letting the mac overwrite the handheld for the first sync. So after the sync i had to export my calendar and contacts from palm then import into ical and address book. Then I synced again.
Afterwards, I published to my .mac and selected update automatically. No problems ever since.
PS. I am running Leopard 10.5.1 on the new 24" imac.
