I am purchasing a iphone4s. Can I synch contacts and calendar with outlook on my office computer and media in my family itunes library on my home computer? If so, how?
I'm having the same issue. Upgraded my 3G to OS4 which wiped out my contacts from the phone. I also use CompanionLink (Express) to sync ATC with Outlook and iTunes and the phone. Have spent hours/days on the phone with second level Apple tech support to no avail. CompanionLink IS syncing with Outlook but Outlook isn't syncing with the phone. Have tried syncing to Outlook directly (without CompanionLink) but no good result. Tried syncing through MobilMe. Can sync all Outlook contacts from my computer to me.com through MobileMe but does not sync with the phone. Tech support suggested trying to sync fewer contacts at a time as their might be a problem with the contacts file. DID manage to get 4000 of my 5600 contacts back in but can't get any more in. Previously had NO problem syncin all contacts directly and through CompanionLink. VERY frustrating.
Also, I use Outlook Express for email. Since installing MobileMe I get an error message saying that Outlook isn't my default mail handler and I need to change the settings to make it the default mail handler. I DO NOT have "sync mail" checked as I'm not trying to sync my email accounts...only contacts and calendars. Made Outlook the default mail handler which stops the error message but still can't sync the contacts and I want to keep Outlook Express for email. -
I have a macbook pro with mountain lion and now so I can not synchronize my outlook calendar office 2011 for mac with ical and, therefore, with icloude. Can anyone help?

I have been a customer of ITunes and Apple since 2007. Movies, Apps, Music and books Itunes has been my only source for my media needs. 397 Apps 759 Songs over 100 Videos 13 books 3 IPhones 2 IPods So here is my problem with ITunes I purchased an App and it is identical to one I have already brought. The App description did not say anything that it would not do what I was trying to do. I wrote sup[port and asked if they could issue a credit. Mari at support wrote back and said he checked with his supervisor and they could not issue a credit. I told them what a good loyal customer I have been to Itunes and Apple and they still refused. Granted the App did not cost a lot of money (3.99) but it’s the principle. With customers having options to shop anywhere I would think a business would do whatever it takes to retain the loyal customers they do have Occasionally I rush to buy an App without fully understanding if it meets my needs. According to ITunes support that has occurred nine times. Here is the last reply that I received Roger, I know how frustrating it can be when things don't work the way they should be and I do apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. I am sorry but we could not be able to grant your request as we have made 9 exceptions on you. You've already had 9 refunds? You understand that apps are sold on a non-return policy, presumably. You bought an app that didn't claim to do something that you wanted from it, and now that you've found that it doesn't, you want your money back.
Perhaps you've failed to explain your point properly but I can't see why you expect any sympathy from users here, not that it would make any difference. Only the store staff can issue refunds if they think appropriate. Chalk it up to experience. You could even contact the developer in advance of a purchase if you want to be certain an app does what you want. Then if it really fails to live up to the promise you would at least have a better argument for a refund.

If I have an iphone and an ipod, can i download same music and vids?
Hi - I have an iphone and am thinking about getting an ipod so my kids will stop taking my phone to watch videos, etc. If I buy an ipod, will i be able to download my content (purchased or otherwise) from my library to both devices? Or will itunes only let me download to one device? Thanks in advance for your help!
You did not say what os you were using.
For Windows based PC, not sure on a MAC.
Setup an extra account on your PC, i.e. one for you and one for the kids.
Store all your videos and music in a folder called MY Music but on the root of your C: drive not the default My Music under My Documents.
Install itunes on each user account and in the preferences under the Advance tab point your location of music to the folder you setup earlier.
Now add the music to itunes your self do not let itunes decide for you, always say no to itunes managing your music and opt for I will mange my music.
I have not tried this, it may not work, Windows may let you only install itunes once, so give it a go.
Another alternative is to use an external drive for all your media and use a second PC or laptop to do it.
The only thing you need to be careful of is copyright. Only have the music on one device at a time. This should be no problem as you would normally have different tastes in music and not want to listen to the same things. -
I have gift cards that were entered into my account. I since have destroyed the cards and no when i try to purchase music it is asking for the card information. I show a balance, what do i need to do?

I can not sync my iPhone after restoring it - my computer only gives me the restore (again and again and again) option. I have no music and only a few aps now on my iPhone. Any tips before I go to the genius bar?
If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock). Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

sound on my phone has gone so when someone calls me they can hear me but i cant hear them.The ticks cant be heard when you press the keyboard. I've checked the settings and they are ok. can still hear music thru headphones but not without. Any help pls.

I understand you are having issues with sound output on your iPhone 4S. For troubleshooting steps, the following article provides the best information:

1. Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
2. Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
3. While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
4. Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
5. For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
6. If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
7. Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
8. If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
9. Restart the iPhone.
10. If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
11. If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.

I upgraded to 10.7.4, to upgrade to iCloud. And ever since the upgrade to iCloud, my iCal, Address book, etc. won't sync to my iPhone. My iMAC does sync with my MacBook Pro but not to my iPhone. What do I do? And though my iMac sync to my MacBook Pro, there is a little problem. My iCal shows let's say 9 AM in my iMAC, it shows 8 AM in the MacBook Pro. The scheduling in the iCAL is a bet of a mess eer since of the upgrade.
PLEASE HELP ME SOMEBODY PLEASE!!!To sync to your iPhone, you need to check iCloud requirements to be sure your iPhone is compatible with iCloud and your iPhone software is up to date.
You also need to make sure iCloud is enabled on the iPhone.
And you need to make sure the iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi in order to sync.
For the time difference, be sure the time settings on each device is the same with time zone and daylight saving time the same setting on each. -

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

As a new iPod user, I am looking for some help!
Currently, I use iTunes and my iPod with an external hard disc, where my entire library is stored, and my laptop. Now, I would like to use this hard disc with a second computer as well.
Should I move "iTunes Library.itl" and "iTunes Music Library.xml" from "C" (my laptop's hard disc) to my external hard disc, and then chose the manual synchronisation between iTunes and iPod?

Yes, I believe that would be the thing to do. Be sure
to set your manual syncronization for both
computers.
If you connect your iPod to a new computer (that now
would have iTunes on it), however, it may display
"this iPod is connected to another computer, would
you like to replace the content?". Be sure to click
on "NO", and not "yes".
