Synchronize email password is invalid

hi guys,
everytime i log into my email settings i am prompted to sync my @live.com email account with my bb device. it only requires my email password. when i enter my password in order to sync email account with bb, i get "account password is invalid" and then it just moves on to my added emal addresses. the email addresses have been added just fine, they work just fine, i get my notifications through my bb device, servicebooks are in order.
why does it keep asking me to sync my email account and why is my password invalid --its not like i don't know my own password --
p.s. it does not prompt me to sync my @yahoo.com account, only the @live.com

Thanks for responding Graham. Re-setting my password at home office includes the Active Directory domain, which is something only I can do. A network admin could re-set a temp password, but it would change at next log-in and I can't administrate it on my iPhone. There must be a way to stop the phone from constantly trying to sync. The phone gets hot and the percentage indicator counts down almost 1% a second.

    I have been using my BB for 1 week today.  My email has been working fine on my blackberry until some time this afternoon.  I received an email stating my email password was invalid and to reset it to continue receiving my emails on my phone.  I haven't changed my password and clearly I was in my email at the time to receive this news.  Every attempt made so far to put my password in through my phone AND via computer comes back that my password is invalid. 
    Any ideas/solutions?  This is one of the main features that I purchased this phone for and it's very frustrating that I'm already having issues with it.

    You will wait for the rest of your life. You need to fix it; no one else will. To turn off "Find my iPhone" and its associated Activation Lock you need the Apple ID and password that were used to turn it on. If you know the Apple ID you can contact Apple Account Security and have them reset the password (after you prove you are the rightful owner of that Apple ID). see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.
    If you don't know the Apple ID the phone is permanently unusable.

    Is this your machine or the company's?  Machines that came with Snow Leopard or earlier installed come with system and software install disks that can be used to reisntall the iApps that came with the machine orignally. 
    If this is your machine and it came with Snow Leopard or earlier installed the disk will look slimialr to one of these:
    If it is the company's machine see if they have the disks.
    Do a custom install and then use Software Update to update iPhoto to the highest version that is available.

    1) I downloaded a free game app that works with Game Center...Run, Run, Chicken v.1.1
    2) I opened the app, then closed it. When I opened it again, it asked me if I wanted to use an existing account or create a new account for Game Center. I chose to use an existing account.
    3) I entered my e-mail address (in my case, my Apple ID) and password.
    4) I had to verify the Location (country) and date of birth.
    5) Then I went right to the terms and conditions page, and upon acceptance, I got to the Game Center set up. I completed the set up.
    6) When I opened the Game Center app on my iPhone, I was able to get into Game Center without any sign in problems.
    This was in a different post, and worked for me

    Thanks for the question. You’ll want to sign out of your iCloud account from Settings > iCloud, then sign back in with the new Apple ID. If you encounter issues in doing so, see this article:

  • Invalid Email Password - but its not.

    Hi - I hope you can help. I had a BB curve 8520 for past 2 years and loved it.  Over Christmas, my son had my old BB and I bought a new one - exactly the same - the Curve 8520. Both operate on orange networks.  My old BB was v4 new BB is v5. 
    I have a personal email address, and 5 work email accounts - all of which have worked perfectly fine on the old BB.  However when trying to add them to the new BB, although my personal account has been accepted, when trying to input my work email I keep getting a message that the password is not correct (which I know it is. I have even tried resetting my work email password on the email server).     
    The email accounts were removed from the old BB when it was given to my son, and although they have worked on that BB for 2 years, I tried reloading them on his BB - but now have the same error message of incorrect password.
    I have surfed the net and can see this seems to be an issue, mostly for gmail accounts (My work email is not a gmail account) - but no specific response on how to resolve it.   I have carried out all the checks such as making sure keyboard is set to right language, and font does not automatically set capitals as first letter, so that isnt the problem.
    The phone is primarily for business use - so I absolutely have to resolve this.  Anyone have any ideas to save my sanity?

    cogener, please try setting up that additional account in this manner...
    Use your BlackBerry browser to go to mobile.blackberry.com
    Scroll down to Communication
    Select > Email and choose the 'other' method (not yahoo or gmail, unless it is).

  • Checking email, I get message that my password is invalid.  It is not.  Sometimes this 'fixes' itself.  How to correct?  Verizon says go to Apple.

    How get my iPhone 3G to recognize my email password?  This happens occasionally and usually 'fixes' itself somehow.  But this time, I can't get the phone to accept my email password. 

    I really can't comprehend the logic that leads to believe that password for old apple id will come to e-mail for new id. Buy may be I just misunderstood something. Contact Apple for assist with password retrieval. If you can verify yourself as account owner they may be able to help you.

    I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

    I changed my email password on my laptop. when I went to change it on my iPhone 4s it says it is invalid and will not let me log in. I tried deleting it off my phone and readding it - failed. I turned off my phone and turned it back on - failed. I plugged my phone into the computer and synced it... I have done everything but deleting everything and starting from scratch - HELP!!!!!!

    well after a few days of bashing my head in trying to figure it out - I DID!!!!!
    So, here's the solution to my problem - I had 2 step verification on  - after I had changed my password google and its awesome security features wouldnt let an unknown device access the account.So I disabled 2-step verification and I was able to add gmail back onto my phone. yeaay! I have my all in one calendar back!
    now..... the next question is.... if I add the two step verification again but would like to add a youtube video off my phone will it let it..... I'll post when I find out.

  • Email Password Problems (Password corrupt?)

    I need a mod to have a look at a friends email password for her.
    She hasn't been able to receive email for around 10 days via Windows Live Mail on Windows 7.  It suddenly stopped working with no changes made to the settings.
    I've logged on remotely and checked all settings, all settings are fine. We have reset the password 3 times now via the instructions on the BT Support Site and via Desktop Help. The password resets successfully but when we enter the new password we still get the same error.

    I have changed them now to reflect the instructions in that link but still no joy, we still receive the same error whatever the settings

    If  the password works on webmail and IMAP it is more likely a setting on your Windows Live Mail that is incorrect or her Windows Live Mail account has become corrupted. If the settings do not work you should save all her emails and then delete the account and re-set it up.
    Email settings:
    POP3
    Server incoming and out going: mail.btinternet.com
    Incoming mail server:
    Email user name: (prefix of email address without @btinternet.com. This is case sensitive)
    Password: Your BT email password.( This is case sensitive)
    Log on using clear text authentication
    Out Going Server in requires Authentication (Use same as incoming mail server. Some users have found that they need to enter the password and username instead of “use same as incoming mail server” )
    Outgoing Port : 465 SSL security
    Incoming Port : 995 SSL security

    My girlfriend has been using her btinternet email account for a few years without issue, but about a month ago she started getting intermittent login failures to her BT Yahoo email account; Outlook pops-up the "request network password" and Thunderbird pops-up a message about the name or password being invalid. There are no error codes. However, if she uses a browser; Firefox or Internet Explorer, there is never a problem (so we know the password is correct), but if she uses an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird then increasingly, the client is unable to retrieve emails for several hours and usually whilst she is doing something else like using Excel, the emails suddenly burst into life. I work in IT as a Unix sysadmin so know my way around this basic stuff (or so I thought) but I cannot figure out what is going wrong here. We have just spent 5 hours talking to four different Indians who do not seem to understand the problem and certainly have not been able to help. Strangely enough, if we login using a browser then invariably the email clients start working, albeit for an hour or so. We have access to two computers:
    Desktop running Windows XP and using Outlook 2003.
    Laptop running Windows 7 and using Thunderbird.
    If I use her laptop from my home then the issue is still there, which eliimates anything on her hub. If I add her email account settings to Thunderbird on my Mac I get the same issue; sometimes I can retrieve her mail, sometime I cannot.
    Nothing has been changed on her desktop but I have tried just about every setting for SMTP in Thunderbird, some work for a short while. One of the Indians remotely checked Thunderbird on the laptop and another checked Outlook on the desktop. Of course email worked just fine as they insisted we sign on with the browser. Email failed less than 10 minutes after the first call ended today and with the operator insisting email is fixed forever!
    It appears to me that some "rule" or setting on the BT mail server is causing the issue but as no-one seems to be able to help I am turning to the user community for something more tangible.
    All ideas, suggestion welcome.

    Hi Rob. Welcome to the forums.
    A few weeks ago, there were some serious issues with the mail servers causing the problems you are now seeing. Although I wouldn't say it has been fixed completely, it has certainly massively improved. However your case is probably something that seems to happen from time to time, and is typically a fleeting error - but may last a few days.
    Have a look at my shortcuts, link below, option 0d/h and alter the server names. That can very often clear the problem you are seeing.
