Synchronize multiple Photo libraries to iPad

In iTunes, clicked on Photos icon. I would like to synchronize multiple Photo folders but the "Selected folders" option is greyed out which. How can I access it to select multiple photo libraries??

Click on Photo's tab the check the *Sync Photos* box - this should lift the greyed out area - then click on *Selected photos, albums and faces* and then you can pick the albums that you'd like to sync by checking each of their boxes.
Worth noting that "events" and "albums" are 2 different things in iPhoto. You'll need to make the Albums from the events.
Have a try..

  • How to import photos from multiple iphoto libraries to iPad

How do I import photos from multiple iPhoto libraries from my iMac to the new iPad? I have 4 different iPhoto Libraries on my iMac.
I can import photos from  iPhoto library 1,  to the iPad, but when I import photos from iPhoto Library 2, created on my iMac to the iPad,
it deletes the original photos that I imported from the first iPhoto Library and replaces them with the import from library 2.
I only want to import selected photos from each library to my iPad. Can someone plese help me?

As Ralph has suggested, if you want to sync photos from your computer, you must include all photos that you want to sync - with each and every sync. You cannot import photos from another Main photo folder on the computer. You must create an all-in-one photo library in iPhoto and sync from that folder. You can select one level of sub folders from within that main folder, but all of those folders must be included in the main folder - in your case it is in iPhoto. That is just how the sync process works with Photos.
I don't know how using third party apps affects the photos that you have already synced from iPhoto, but take a look at these apps in this Google search. Maybe Wifi transfer is the way to go for you.

  • Multiple iPhoto Libraries to iPad

Has anyone found a way of syncing multiple iPhoto Libraries to an iPad yet? If not, does anyone have the ear of an App developer who can basically replicate the iPad's Photos App but with this additional functionality?

I guess you'll need to wait and make due with what's available.
Also, let Apple know what you'd like to see added at:

  • Multiple Aperture Libraries onto iPad

    I have several Aperture Libraries.
just got an iPad 2 last week.
I would like to bring in several Photo Albums into the iPad that are spread across multiple Aperture Libraries.
I appears that iTunes only lists the "current" Aperture library's albums when it gives me a choice of photos to bring in.
Is it possible to link albums from several Aperture Libraries to my iPad? I realize I could manually export everything I'm looking for separately, but don't want to do all that extra work.
    Thx

I would also like to know this.
It seems to me that the concept of syncing with the "current" library does not even make any sense for a product which is advertised to handle multiple libraries.

  • Will aperture scan and combine multiple photo libraries

I have photo in 3 differnt iphoto libraries.  Will this software scan all devices and bring all photos to one new library?

I'm not sure what you mean by "scan all devices and bring all photos into one new library."
Aperture CAN import another Aperture or iPhoto library into its own library, as long as they are the right versions (current version is 3.4.5 of Aperture, and I believe iPhoto 9.4.5).  If the libraries are the same version, then you can open one Aperture library, and then do File->Import->Library to import another library into your mail library.
So you should start with one library, then import the other two, then archive off the iPhoto libraries for a while until you're convinced all is working as it should.
Oh, and have up-to-date backups of EVERYTHING before you do this.  It has worked perfectly for me in all cases, backups are always a good idea when doing something as large as this with something as valuable as your photo libraries!

  • Can I Use Multiple Photo Libraries?

I am upgrading to 160GB Classic and also getting Aperture. I am assuming I will end up with separate Aperture and iPhoto libraries.
Would the iPod be able to automatically sync both libraries onto the one iPod?

If the folders of both programs are in the same folder, such as the pictures folder it will work.

  • Everytime I try to load a photo album from my PC to my ipad via iTunes it deletes the other photos on my ipad.  What am I doing wrong?

Everytime I try to load a photo album from my PC to my iPad via iTunes it deletes the previous folder of photos I had on there. I want to be able to have multiple photos on my ipad but have them in photos or albums for easy reference....how do I do that?

If you want to have multiple albums on the iPad, then you need to select all the folders that you want and sync them together - therefore they must all be directly off the same parent folder. Not including a folder in the sync is the way that you delete an album (folder) from the iPad - as you've found out.

  • How do I delete multiple photos from the Camera Roll?

How do I delete multiple photos from camera roll without doing it one at a time?

Thanks for your posts on this - it's something I've been wondering about, too.
I do agree with Bonzo that it seems strange that there isn't a way to do it *efficiently* without having to hook the iPad to a computer.
I know there is an alternative: in other words, you're right, Lawrence - it is possible to delete multiple files at once by following your instructions (i.e. tapping on each photo once, etc.) - but if you want to delete lots of photos, it takes ages to tap on every one of them.
Does anyone else out there know of a way to delete multiple photos on the iPad/iPhone/iPod touch without having to tap on each photo separately, or having to hook up to a computer?
I'd be really grateful for any help on this. Thanks!

  • How do I sync my iPad with multiple Aperture libraries?

I have an Ipad2 and use Aperture 3 with multiple libraries. iTunes only allows me to sync with the 'current' library (the one most recently opened in Aperture) which is a pain, as I sometime lose all my photos off the iPad if I've been using a different library. Is there a way around this?
    Thanks!
    Jan-Peter

There is a work around but it requires more manual effort from you.
Instead of syncing your iPad to Aperture or iPhoto, choose to sync it from a folder.
First create a new folder somewhere on your HD and then export versions from your various Aperture libraries to your folder. You'll need to manually manage this folder. For example, if you want something deleted from your iPad, you'd need to delete it from this folder. Adding new items to your Aperture library won't automatically update to your iPad until you export them to this folder and sync your iPad.

  • Multiple iPhoto libraries & on MobileMe Gallery on iPad

I have multiple iPhoto libraries on my Mac (multiple work related project libraries & personal library). I'd like to be able to view them on an iPad. Is that going to be possible? If not, I'm hoping that MobileMe galleries will sync to the iPad. Does anyone know if either of these options is possible?

I upgraded to Lion OS and suffered multiple crashes necessitating a complete rebuild of the system - reformat the main hard drive and install Lion OS from a disk  In an effort to be absolutely sure I didn't lose data I have been overenthusiastic in transferring photos to the backup disk dragging and dropping files that contained images as well as a full transfer of "mymac" before reformating.  Time machine backup was not realistic as this was the one operation which caused most of the "hangs"  System now appears to be working well with Lion OS but I have masses of duplicate jpeg files in multiple folders and libraries - I am considering purchasing Duplicate Annihilator to deal with the duplicates then perhaps I should try to merge the libraries with iPhoto manager?

  • I am trying to attach multiple photos to an email from my ipad 2. I can see how to do it from the camera and camera roll option, but not from the photos program. What am I missing? Thanx so much!

I am trying to attach multiple photos to an email using ipad 2. I can see how to do it using the camera and camera roll ap...
But not using the photos ap..which is where the photos are. Any help would be appreciated.!

In an album in Photos touch the Edit button and then touch the desired photos (up to 5). A blue check appears in each selected photo. Next touch the Share button at the upper left and select Mail. This starts a email with the photos attached.

  • How can i add multiple photos to an imovie at once from my ipad?

I am trying to create an imovie of photos that I have stored on my ipad using my ipad. It is only letting me add one photo at a time which is taking way too long. Is there a way to add multiple photos at once? Also, can I apply changes (like removing the Ken Burns effect all at once from all of the pictures? Hopefully I dont have to do it one at a time or it will take waay too long!
    thanks

When creating a new email, open the Photos app.
    Select the Album.
    Tap Select.
    Select the items desired.
Tap the Sharing icon and select Mail.
    Create the email.
When replying to an email, it is not possible.

  • Can I merge multiple iPhoto libraries in the new Photo's app. This was not possible in iPhoto but is possible in Aperture.

Now that iPhoto is 'Photos' on 10.10.3 is it possible to merge multiple iPhoto libraries. It is possible to this this in Aperture but not in iPhoto (I'm using 10.10.2 and can't upgrade until other software I use is qualified for 10.10.3). Here's the deal - I  changed my drive to an SSD and backed up my old hard drive (which had the original iPhoto library on it. I did a clean install with my new drive so iPhoto created a new (blank) library. This upgrade was done a few months ago so now I have 2 different iPhoto libraries. Note that the newer library is connected to iCloud and if I was to 'Switch Libraries' it will delete my current photo stream. There is a way to do this manually - I could switch to the old library and locate the root folders in the 'newer library', move them to a new folder and import. This procedure is awkward and not my preferred route. So if there's anyone using the new 'Photos' app on 10.10.3 please let me know thanks!

To merge the libraries manually use "File > Export".
To save the high quality originals, set the export panel like this, with "Kind Original":
If you have edited versions with added titles, caption, places, etc, use these export settings to save your work:

  • I have multiple iPhoto libraries w/ duplicates in several. How can I consolidate and find the dupes? Some photos are versions of the original.

I have multiple iPhoto libraries w/ duplicates in several. How can I consolidate and find the dupes? Some photos are versions of the original. On my iMac, I also have many folders containing some of the same photos. My computer is used for both personal and business purposes. My libraries should be separated, one for each.

To merge libraries use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  or Aperature
To find duplicates within an iPhoto library use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -
Photos that are not in an iPhoto library can be imported telling iPhoto not to import duplicates (an imperfect procews) and then IPLM can find the duplicates
As to keeping seperate libraries - only you can do that - IPLM can move photos between libraries for you but only you can know which photos should be in which library
