Synchronize RT target using NTP

Hello,
I would like to synchronize my system, composed of several RT target running Pharlap OS, with a NTP server located on a Windows 7 host computer.
I found some examples about how to do it using System Configuration Set Time VI.
I am considering calling this VI in a model or a Custom Device. Is it a right way to do it or is there better ?
More generally, is there any disadvantage of adjusting the clock during execution ?

If you can use LV2010 then use Network Streams, otherwise consider making your own tcpip communications vi. I would package up the data with a SOF,Payload, EOF, CRC and then require the receiver to return a verification message to complete the transfer.

• How to push a perticular request from PSA to Data target using DTP in BI

Hello all.
I have mulitple requests in PSA & wanted to move only perticular requests (Randomly, say first request & last request ) to data target using DTP in BI 7.0. How can we do this.. ? Is there any option in DTP (BI 7.0)for selective loading of requests from PSA to Data Target..
Thanks in advance..
Cheers,
sami.

Hi,
It is possible by using 'zero fetch' in DTP
If you want only the recent req to be loaded.
1. In PSA, change the status of the recent request to red
2. Do a zero fetch
that is processing mode - No data transfer; delta status in source: fetched
With this processing mode you execute a delta without transferring data.
3. change the particular request status back to green
4. Run a delta load

• Load status in PSA "Request not updated to any data target using delta"

Hi,
I need to delete the Unwanted request from PSA with status u201CRequest not updated to any data target using deltau201D
There are lot of requests are there in PSA but some of them loaded with status
u201CRequest updated in Data targetu201D u2013 I donu2019t want delete this requests.
Others u201CRequest not updated to any data target using deltau201D -- need to delete
We are deleting manually every week end.
Is there any program or tables which can delete automatically unwanted u201C Request not updated to any data target using deltau201D requests from PSA.
Thanks for your help in Advance,
Raj.

Hi Rajesh,
You may create a simple process chain, where you could include the variant "Delete PSA Request".At the bottom of this variant maintenace screen you would find options exactly matching your requirements. It's a very simple option and should not take you more than 5 minutes.
Best Regards,
Bansi.

• Master data loads Request not updated to any data target using delta

When checking the PSA the request updated ICON has red triangle and the mouse over says
"Request not updated to any data target using delta".
I am doing full loads for text data and both full and delta's loads for Attributes. This is BI 7.0 system but the loads are still from 3.1. DTP has not been implemented yet. The system was just upgraded in July. I am unable to schedule deletes from the PSA for successful loads. However, I think the data is updating to the info objects. My Info package has the selection to PSA then in the InfoObject package by package.
How do I schedule the deletes from PSA and why does the Request updated show red but the monitor for the info package show green?

Hi shikha,
The load has not failed but I am unable to delete the load from the PSA.
If you do a manage on the Data Source or go to PSA from RSA1 the first column has the green gear icon instead of a green check mark I have red triangle the mouse over says "request not updated to any data target using delta" The data has loaded to info object. I am trying to schedule deletes from the PSA and using the option to "delete only successfully booked/updated requests" So how do I get the request updated column to show a green check mark so my deletes will Process? This is for master data only. My transactions load fine and delete properly according to my settings.
Thanks for the reply.

• Request not updated to any data target using delta

I am on BI 70 using 70 DataSource. I executed InfoPackage in full update, then ran DTP in full mode. There is only 1 data target. The requests were successfully updated in the target DSO. However, when I checked the datasource PSA, the requests were showing u201CRequest not updated to any data target using deltau201D with red triangle.
My questions are:
1. Is this normal?
2. I need to do more full loads. When I run DTP (in full mode) again, will it re-load those PSA requests (the ones already in DSO) to the same data target?
Thank you.
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
To answer your questions
1. Yes. This is normal.
2. Yes. When you run DTP in Full Mode again, this PSA request (along with any other subsequent loads you might have done to PSA) would be re-loaded to the same data target .
If this is not required you can set the DTP to delta mode. This ensures that the PSA request is updated to data target only once.
Hope this helps!

• PSA showing Request not updated to any data target using delta

Hi BWers,
I am very new to SAP and have a IDES installed with BW. I am trying to do a simple data load from a flat file. I have managed to create a InfoPackage, but when I schedule it and then go into the data source -> manage and look at the screen :
Requests for PSA /BIC/Bxxxx
I see the Request updated having a Red triangle with an exclamation mark in it and it says
"Request not updated to any data target using delta"
Wondering if someone can help me resolve this so that I can further create a DTP and load the data into the InfoObject.
Thanks for all your help.

Reg : Delta Load : Production Data
Current Scenario :
we have existing system pulling data from 0CO_OM_WBS_6 ,ZPS_0CO_OM_NWA_2
Structure underlying infocube:
2 Data Sources >> 1DSO >>1 Infocube .
Usually the Data is loaded in delta format on daily basis using process chains.
For last one month the delta is not picking properly :
Example :
A WBS Element is created 2 years back and it open and getting its update into BW ,
latest amount or cost incurred for the WBS Element is not picked for certain WBS only :
I have Tried Giving a Full Infopack load to the DSO , but as DataStructure was migrated from 3.5 to 7 landscape :
its showing this error:
Request not updated to any data target using delta,
i went and created DTP which didnt help much Because latest isnt caputered .
if i goto RSA1old and find the full req and trigger it ,it says inti overlapping ,
how to over come this as this is a production issue

• ALL IP SLAs to dmVPN spokes give invalid RTT=1 . Nodes use NTP. What can be the reason for this?

IP SLA Measurements are invalid. RTT should be 20 to 60ms, but IP SLAs deliver RTT=1ms. This applies for UDP Jitter and UDP echo IP SLAs.
Nodes use NTP time.

you can use any router you want - I use a netgear others belkin - up to you.

• Replication / synchronization with MaxDB using Windows

Hi,
is there somewhere a tutorial how to use replication / synchronization with MaxDB using Windows?
I found information about the Synchronization Manager but it seems that it's no more available for Download.
The Database Studio description points out that it will be useable for MaxDB 7.7 and upper versions,

• RV042 - Time is not being set automatically using NTP

I have 4 RV042 routers with the latest 1.3.12.19-tm firmware. I cannot get the router to set its time automatically. On the Setup->Time page I have a bullet next to "Set the local time using .. (NTP) automatically". Time Zone is set to GMT-05:00 (Eastern). I do have a checkmark next to Daylight Saving and have defined the from and to date range. The default factory setting has "Set using NTP automatically" and a blank value for NTP Server. The docs do not state if you have to type in your own NTP server. Since the date was showing as 2002, I assumed it did not like a blank NTP server. So, why do they make that the default? And, if a value is required, why not warn the user when you click on Save Setting button?
Assuming it needed a value entered for NTP Server, I typed in 2.pool.ntp.org - which works just fine on my Windows 2003 server. Yet the time still remains stuck in 2002...
I also wondered whether NTP queries should appear in the system log (or on my SYSLOG server). So far I do not see any hint of an NTP query occurring.
Any ideas?
-Thanks,
-Mike

Since my initial post I have done a lot more testing and searching and have found:
1. I can get the RV042 to sync its time properly if I run Dillobits Software's SNTP Service application on my laptop and point the RV042 to use that as the time reference - works perfectly every time.
2. It does not matter if my laptop (running SNTP Service) is on a WAN port or the LAN port - so long as the RV042 has the IP address of the laptop it will find the time service (I had a thought the problem may have been the RV042 was expecting to find the time service on a WAN port, not internally on the network)
3. I have checked and double checked all the registry settings on the W2k3 Server and I'm abolutely confident they are correctly set for it to provide a reliable NTP time service
4. I have found quite a number of posts on various forums regarding people having problems getting Cisco products to sync time with W2k3 Server. From memory, these were all Cisco products running IOS and (also from memory) the ones I read were all resvolved, usually by tidying up some settings in one or the other of the products. I have not found any solution for Linksys products and W2k3 Server.
5. At least a couple of people have had their problem resolved by changing the value of the Windows Time Service registry key LocalClockDispersion to 0. I have tried this, along with using other values small and large but without success.
6. SNTP and NTP packets are identical - the difference between the two protocols being how much work the application using the time information does to process the data (eg: the amount and complexity of statistical processing done to determine the time accurately and the method of adjusting the clock)
The conclusion I have come to is that while the RV042 should happily sync to the W2k3 Server, there is something within the time packet sent by the W2k3 Server time service that the RV042 objects to (ie: it doesn't consider it to be a reliable time source or something) and therefore rejects it.
With that, I have exhausted every path I have found that may offer a solution so unless someone else can get to the bottom of this I will purchase Dillobits Software's SNTP Service and run that on the W2k3 Server.
Regards
Derek

• RMAN duplicate target using set until telling me it can not find data files

I have RMAN scripts that I use freqently to clone a database from DB (production) to another (non-prod). These work just fine. I use the set until so that I can tell it at what point I want the new DB to be created from the backups of the source.
I had a request to go back a few weeks and the backup files (I do compressed backups to disk) were on tape. I had my backup person restore my backup directory for the source DB as it looked on a certain day (May 28). I have an 8 day retention policy and so the backup files that were restored showed files all the way back to 5/20 ( includes the point I want to use in my set until clause).
However, whenever I try to execute the rman clone, it tells me for each datafile:
RMAN-06023: no backup or copy of datafile 1 found to restore
Like I said, I am able to do this for a current backup that is on disk. I moved the backup files to the source db server and it works fine. However, from these files restored from tape it errors.
Here is the RMAN script:
spool log to c:\temp\clone_CSPROD_CSPRSUM1.log;

Maybe making progress.
I got into RMAN and did a List backup command. In looking at the output, I see that it does have the 5/20 backup showing. Here is part of the output:

What I am not sure is if the SCN I used in my set until sequence command was from 5/20, when I look at the backup pieces that it is reading to restore from, they appear to be from backup files taken from June.
(e.g channel d1: reading from backup piece F:\BACKUPS\CSPROD\D3\CSPROD_DATA_6148 -- this is a 6/16 backup file).
Also, as you can see it was not able to do a media recovery.
Thanks in advance for your help.

• Synchronization of Target Group with BW

Hi,
In SAP Library, it is mentioned that "To keep target group information in the BW System up-to-date, CRM and BW must be synchronized. You activate this synchronization by choosing the Synchronization with BW indicator from the properties of the target group. "
The link is : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/2b/59dc46c50911d3b29b0050da3ee986/frameset.htm
When I open the Target Group Properties in Segment Builder, there is no field for setting this indicator.
Can someone please help.
Regards,
Monica

Hi Monica,
Unfortunately I am not a BI expert. But the best practice document "Essential Information for SAP Best Practices for BI" might give you some insight. Please refer to the document

• In DVD SP when setting a target use track or chapter marker?

If you have muliple tracks, slideshows and menus in your project and the tracks have only one chapter marker and you have the option of setting as a target, the track or the chapter marker which should you use or does it matter? Also would the same rule apply for setting the "next or "previous" targets in the advanced connections? I hope I am being clear on this, if not I can add more info.

Jeff
In DVD SP there will be some limits on how you can move markers, they will not be frame accurate.
I usually use the key commands to jump back and forth between markers, then use inspector to nudge
You can also try to just export the Final Cut movie with the new marker positions and use that to set the markers in DVD SP then use the previously encoded video
Take a look here for this workaround that is good if markers do not show up and also will do what you need now

• Sequencing a node in Target using XSLT

Hi,
I need to give numbering to a node on the target evertime it occurs irrespective of the any field in the source. How can this be achieved using XSLT? I know this can be acheived using ora seq, but we do not want to touch the DB.
My target should like this
<root>

<value>some mapping from source</value>

<value>some mapping from source</value>

<value>some mapping from source</value>

</root>
the node id should be generated whenever the parent node Item occurs.
How can this be achieved using XSLT?
Thanks and Regards,
Kamal

Hi Shanmu,
Thanks for the reply.
position() and the count will not help in this case as the source is a cascading structure and we have filters on the source, hence i cant get numbers in sequence. Any other workaround please.
Thanks,
Kamal

• How to delete Duplicate records from the informatica target using mapping?

Hi, I have a scenario like below: In my mapping I have a source, which may containg unique records or duplicate records. Source and target are different tables. I have a target in my mapping which contains duplicate records. Using Mapping I have to delete the duplicate records in the target table. Target table does not contain any surrogate key. We can use target table as a look up table, but target table cannot be used as source in the mapping. We cannot use post SQL.

Hi All, I have multiple flat files which i need to load in a single table.I did that using indirect option at session level. But need to dig out on how to populate substring of header in name column in target table. i have two columns Id and Name. in all input file I have only one column 'id' with header like H|ABCD|Date. I need to populate target like below example. File 1 File2 H|ABCD|Date. H|EFGH|Date.1 42 5 3 6 Target tale: Id Name1 ABCD2 ABCD3 ABCD4 EFGH5 EFGH6 EFGH can anyone help on what should be the logic to get this data in a table in informatica.

in file /opt/tinyos-2.1.1/support/make/tinynode.target i've done for the moment the following
# mod_by_takeda
PFLAGS += -mmpy=none
# PFLAGS += -mdisable-hwmul
# mod_by_takeda
# PFLAGS += -mstrict-align
