Synchronize two computers with one iPod

Is there a way to synchronize my iPod with 2 computers, so that my music us up-to-date on both?

You would have to install the music on both computers. If you sync your ipod with a second computer the ipod will ask if you want to use the ipod with this computer, if you say yes, it will remove all the songs and put them back on again using the library on the second computer. The ipod sync's one way, from computer to ipod. It will not sync ipod to computer. There are third party applications that will allow to do this. I have not used this application, so I can't say how well it works. Give it a try and let me know?

I have two computers (mac and win) and want my itunes songs on both machines. Actually the ipod works with the win computer. How can I get the songs from the ipod to the mac? How can I transfer/sync these songs over the ipod on both systems.

Probably the easiest way to use an iPod on both Mac and Windows computers is to format the iPod (using iPod Updater) using the PC. This will force your iPod to use the Windows file system (FAT32) which both the Mac and PC can read from and write to without the help of additional software. Of course then all your software updates for the iPod will have to be done on Windows.
If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.
However, please be aware that Apple does not officially support cross platform use.

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer (For instance you have one at home and maybe a laptop or PC you use at work) you can change the update preference to "manually manage songs and playlists. By doing this, you can listen to your iPod at work where you may have iTunes but no songs on the computer. Hi, is the iMac also 10.6.8? I had an iMac die when 10.6.8 was installed, it worked at first but after some You Tube flash videos the screen just locked and no mouse clicking anywhere did anything. It turned out that most older iMacs [ mine was from august 2007] have a graghics chipset that can't handle Snow Leopard, there were [are?] 77 pages on this "locked screen"topic in the Snow Leopard forum. I checked out a web site that tells you how much your mac is worth by filling in the sereal number-mine was worth only $168, I may give it to a friend for his children to play with, although that seems unholy. I doubt anyone woud buy it,the problem is now so well known that even Apple certified resellars here in the Netherlands refuse to repair them,they claim Apple will revoke their certification if they replace the faulty Graphics unit,it is also VERY hard to get to that unit in an iMac, everything is so tightly packed inside.
If your iMac is running Mountain Lion[10.8.0] you may have to change the app store preference to accept apps from all sites,normally ML will only allow app store apps to be downloaded.

I have two computers. Laptop and Desktop, both of them are PC platform an I have an 30GB iPod video (newest one). I am currently using to sync iPod with laptop. My question is if I can use iPod simulatelously (not sure about spelling :)) with desktop. I need this because I have a most of videos on my desktop HDD.

You can't "sync" that is automatically update an iPod from multiple libraries or computers. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply.

Often, I use the laptop remotely and need updates to the desk top and vise versa so that the folder being duplicated is a mirror on each machine...

Optimally I would like it to happen automaticall but a wired version would be OK too...

What's not clear is if it will allow you to disconnect the two Macs and then sync after reconnecting them.
iCloud is something else to consider.

While the license is only good on one computer at a time you can delete the Quicktime preferences file on the first (removing the registraion on that machine) and install on a second machine. Of course, that is only if you are installing the same version of QT on the machines. The key will be good for any updates of a given version number but will not work with any subsequent whole version number release.

I have an IMac G5 which I have my main ITunes library of music on. I also have an IBook that I travel with and occassionally I download a disc of music onto that computer's Itunes. Then I want to download that disc to my Ipod but if I connect to the IBook I will lose everything except what's on the

My Dad wants to put music from my macbook and from my mum's imac on his iphone. what is the best way to do this without mixing the two libraries, as I know you cannot sync the iphone with two computers?

OK - so I'm off-piste a little here (since I don't have two phones to try it with) - but can't you just tick "Manually manage music and videos" or something on the Summary tab within iTunes when you plug in your iPhone and then drag-drop music to it/them? I know that it won't sync - but I'm pretty sure that you can do want you want.

On the Outlook data, your best bet is to use something like Google Sync. I have three computers (one work, one home desktop, one home netbook) all synced up with my iPhone using Google. And it's free.

Sharing music on two computers with one external drive

I'm a Mac. My wife is a PC. If we both link to an external drive and put all of our music on there, can we both access it from our own separate iTunes accounts via file sharing? Will she be able to put music I've downloaded on her iPod? Will I be able to do the same? So far she hasn't downloaded any of her own music onto her computer so if she were to remove her current iTunes from her computer and reload it using my account name, would we both be able to have full access to music both imported and downloaded from both computers?
