Synchronizing files from file explorer

I am unable to synchronize the files from files explorer so I can delete them.  Any suggestions?

Hi,
Which type of files have the issue? Are they also the Word and Excel files? From which client the users access the files on the server? If it is Windows 7 client, you could disable the Preview Pane and the Details Pane in Windows Explorer, on the client machine
to check the results.
Some troubleshooting steps are in the blog which could also be used in Windows Server 2012:

  • Can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer on Windows 8.1

    Hello,
    after I've upgraded to Windows 8.1, I can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer (directly double clicking the file). The AcroRd32.exe runs in the background (2x !) as I see the processes in task manager, but there is no user interface visible. I have Acrobat
    Reader 11.0.06, the desktop version (not Metro). I tried uninstalling the Acrobat reader and installing it again but this didn't help. The only way to open PDF files is to close the AcroRd32.exe from the task manager, open empty Acrobat Reader from the desktop
    and then drag&drop the PDF file over that window. This is quite inconvenient. Is there a way to fix this issue so I can open PDF files directly from windows explorer?
    Many thanks!

    I had to install adobe reader, but   PDF's used to display just fine with IE, any idea what happened ?

  • Drag image file from Windows Explorer to a new layer in an open file

    I want to know if it's possible in CS3 to drag an image file from Windows Explorer into an already open file in PS.  Right now when I drag over, it opens that file.  I want to have it where the image is inserted as a new layer into the existing open file.  is that possible?

    Hi, I'm using CS4 and would love to be able to drag n drop straight to a new layer in an existing file.
    At present when I drag n drop I get a new image in PS. I then have to move this to my existing image. I have tried draging to the tab, the layer box, the image, the blank space, using shift,ctrl & alt.
    A simple how to would be nice

  • Very slow opening PDF files from Windows Explorer

    When I open a file from within Acrobat X Standard - whether through File>Open or the recent files list - the file opens very quickly.  When I open a PDF file from Windows Explorer, it takes 10 seconds or longer for the file to open.  Is this an Acrobat issue or a Windows/system problem?  (I don't experience the same delay when opening Word and Excel files from Windows Explorer.)

    I had to install adobe reader, but   PDF's used to display just fine with IE, any idea what happened ?

  • Folders for saving imported files - "From Files or Folders"?

    When I "get" photos into PSE 10 from my camera or card reader, I have the option of saving each photo to a folder named after the shot date. I can also delete the original once it has been copied to my PC. Is there a way to do the same thing for photos imported using "Get Photos > From Files or Folders"? When I use the From Files and Folders route, the file organization scheme is entirely different and I would like to use the same storage organization that applies when I "get" photos from my camera or card reader.
    Thanks,

    Warning !
    There is a big difference between getting files from camera or card reader (this implies a copy from the camera or card reader to your computer) and getting files from files and folders (already present in your computer). In the last case there is no copy (no download), just a recording in the database of the real location of the files already in your computer.
    You can delete the original in the first case : it has been transferred to your computer by the downloader module. In the second case, there is no copy and the catalog is only a list of the files and their  location (paths) on your computer drive. Deleting originals will delete all.
    If you want to organize your already present folders in a similar date scheme at the default option of the downloader, you'll have to move or rename existing files and folders. The only way to do this would be to do the moves and renaming from the organizer itself, not from the explorer. A lot of work, and totally useless if you use the right tools like tags, categories or albums.

  • Store \ Retrieve files from file system

    Hi to all!
    I would like to implement a solution for storing files uploaded via apex user interface to servers file system. As well I would like this files to be retrievable by apex users. I designed the following solution:
    For upload:
    1. Through file browse item user chooses file to be uploaded
    2. File goes to custom table (as BLOB)
    -- so far i would use apex Upload\Download files tutorial
    3. File(BLOB) would then have to be written to file system to some directory and file id would have to be written to some db table which holds pointers to files on file system
    4. delete file(blob) from custom table (from step 2)
    For download:
    1. user chooses link from some report region(based on table giving file pointers to files residing on file system)
    2. file identified with chosen file pointer is then inserted into blob column of some custom table in db
    3. from custom table with download procedure fie is finally presented to user
    4. delete file(blob) from custom table (from step 2)
    Using apex tutorial for Upload\Download files it is straitforward to get the files from db table or into db table using blobs. But i have not seen any example of using BFILE or migrating files from db to file system and vice versa.
    So some Q arise:
    a) How can I implement step 3 under For upload section above
    b) How can I implement step 2 under For download section above
    c) Is there any way to directly upload file to file system via apex user interface or to directly download file from file system via some report region link column?
    Please help!!!

    marinero,
    Here is a procedure that will copy an uploaded file to the file system:
      Procedure BLOB_TO_FILE(p_file_name In Varchar2) Is
        l_out_file    UTL_FILE.file_type;
        l_buffer      Raw(32767);
        l_amount      Binary_Integer := 32767;
        l_pos         Integer := 1;
        l_blob_len    Integer;
        p_data        Blob;
        file_name  Varchar2(256);
      Begin
        For rec In (Select ID
                              From HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES
                             Where Name = p_file_name)
        Loop
            Select BLOB_CONTENT, filename Into p_data, file_name From HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES Where ID = rec.ID;
            l_blob_len := DBMS_LOB.getlength(p_data);
            l_out_file := UTL_FILE.fopen('UPDOWNFILES_DIR', file_name, 'wb', 32767);
            While l_pos < l_blob_len
            Loop
              DBMS_LOB.Read(p_data, l_amount, l_pos, l_buffer);
              If l_buffer Is Not Null Then
                UTL_FILE.put_raw(l_out_file, l_buffer, True);
              End If;
              l_pos := l_pos + l_amount;
            End Loop;
            UTL_FILE.fclose(l_out_file);
        End Loop;
      Exception
        When Others Then
          If UTL_FILE.is_open(l_out_file) Then
            UTL_FILE.fclose(l_out_file);
          End If;
      end; And here is a procedure that will download a file directly from the file system:
      Procedure download_my_file(p_file In Number) As
        v_length    Number;
        v_file_name Varchar2(2000);
        Lob_loc     Bfile;
      Begin
        Select file_name
          Into v_file_name
          From UpDownFiles F
         Where File_id = p_file;
        Lob_loc  := bfilename('UPDOWNFILES_DIR', v_file_name);
        v_length := dbms_lob.getlength(Lob_loc);
        owa_util.mime_header('application/octet', False);
        htp.p('Content-length: ' || v_length);
        htp.p('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="' || SUBSTR(v_file_name, INSTR(v_file_name, '/') + 1) || '"');
        owa_util.http_header_close;
        wpg_docload.download_file(Lob_loc);
      End download_my_file;I could put a sample application on apex.oracle.com, but it wouldn't be able to access the file system on that server.

  • How to backup only users' relevant files from File History on Windows 8.1?

    Hi,
    I would like to find out how to backup certain user's files from File History on Windows 8.1?
    I'm planning to store the backup files on our server, over a shared network, so that client can retrieve them whenever they need.
    I manage to do one by excluding all the folders from c:\, but it occurs quite silly to me to go select one by one files to exclude them.
    Please advise if there is a better way?

  • Can't create sql file from File | New

    Creating a new sql file from File | New seems to be permanently disabled. The New Gallery dialog displays
    "To enable this option, you must select a project or a file within a project in the Application Navigator."
    This is obviously a hangover from JDeveloper which isn't appropriate here.

    File -> New should bring up an editor by default. This will be fixed.

    May i presume that your cluster is configured on a shared file system?.
              I have seen this problem only if you cluster is configured on different machines
              and if the directory structure is not identical.
              let us know..

    cluster of two weblogic servers pluged in, although I set
    weblogic.properties to round-robin, however, when I run a fibonacci servlet,
    it does not do the round-robin. It always go to one machine for a lot of
    times. Any idea?
    Thank you for your help.

  • Import file from file .jar

    hello... can anybody give me slolution on how to import the file from file.jar. and how to create the new project in java..

    I for one have no idea what you're asking.
    You can use classes in jars just the same as if they weren't in jar. The only difference is how you set up the classpath.
    Java has no idea of a "project". That's more of an IDE thing.

  • Copy and paste files from Windows Explorer

    Hi everybody,
    For a part of my application I need to copy and paste files and folders from Windows explorer to the vi shown in the picture.
    Does anybody know how to implement this with the clipboard functionality.
    Also drag and drop would be very nice (but thats maybe a later step...)
    Best regards, Helmut

    Hello Friedr,
    drag and drop is the easy part!
    Use a path control, this will naturally allow drag and drop. If a file is dropped on this a 'Value Change' event is fired! with this event you can load the data into the picture. To get a nice drag and drop functionality you should make the path transparent and resize to the size of the picture control. This will work fluently!
    To use the clipboard, LV 8 has an functionality for this, I think it is an application event.
    Success Ton
    PS I didn't see you image maybe it was removed when you did a preview these have the bad habit of removing the attachments!

  • Accessing Excel 2007-file from BO Explorer App

    Hello all,
    I have a problem when trying to access excel 2007-files in an InfoSpace ( XI 3.1 SP2) from the iPad with the BO Explorer App.
    Accessing this file from the Browser is no problem and accessing the same file saved as excel 2003 is also no problem from the IPad.
    Anybody an idea what could be the problem? I have to save some files with excel 2007 because number of rows.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Christian
    Additional hint: Always the following error message appears:
    It is not possible to retrieve the facets within the Explore tab.
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException:Character reference "&#26" is an invalid XML character.
    Any idea? Thanks!

    I do now see that you are correct: there is a difference between Excel 2007 and Excel 2010. Your particular usage is somewhat unusual and there probably isn't anything you can do, except to recognise that you are a beneficiary
    of it (although others may be less fortunate).
    The type of protection that you are applying protects the workbook against certain types of change; it does not prevent people opening it, and they do not need a password to open it, so, in a sense, it does not need to be
    encrypted. In Excel 2007 (and Excel 2003 before it), the workbook was, nonetheless, encrypted, and in Excel 2010 it isn't.
    This change means that someone can remove the protection outside Excel (just by deleting that single line of XML), something that couldn't be done before so it is a loss of security.
    I'm a Word person, rather than Excel, and I don't know all the details of the different types of 'protection' that can be applied to Workbooks and Sheets.
    I have, however, not seen anything about this before and will ask some Excel friends if they know anything. Beyond that I don't think I can help any more.
    Enjoy,
    Tony

  • Opening a file from File Explorer does not open in Office 2013, Windows 7

    When opening a DOCX from file explorer, Office Word will open but it will not load the file unless
    you open it from Office Word.

    Hi,
    Please first try to find the Word template file "Normal.dotm" and rename it to "Normal.old", then restart Microsoft Word to check the result. By default, the Normal.dotm file can be found in:
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
    If above doesn't fix the issue, please try to force a re-register of Word in the Windows registry to check if it helps. To do this, please follow:
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. Click Browse.
    3. Locate the Office folder, click the Winword.exe file, and then click
    Open. The Winword.exe file is located in the following folder by default:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
    Note The path to Winword.exe is enclosed in quotation marks.
    4. Click in the Open box, and then reposition the insertion point outside of (to the right of) the closing quotation mark at the end of the path statement.
    5. Type a space, followed by the /r switch:
    “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Winword.exe” /r
    Hope this helps.
