Synchronizing Notes

I had to replace my hard drive and I downloaded the desktop software (version 4.1.4) from Palm's site. I cannot get the Notes to sync. There does not appear to be a link in the conduit for notes. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks .....

Are you referring to Notepad, whith the freehand written notes ?
I believe that conduit only comes with the version of PalmDesktop which is on your install CD.

Error synchronizing Notes 8.x calendar with N70

When I synchronize Notes 8.0.1 calendar and N70 with PC Suite I get error message as follows:
"xyz.NSF
The ID file is locked by another process. Try again later."
Windows XP Pro
Service Pack 2
Version of PC Suite installed 7.0.9.2
Connection method - bluetooth

I was having this same issue when trying to subscribe to an ICS file on a web server. After lots of messing around with things, I discovered that the server was not sending the correct content type in it's response headers.
I added the custom mime type "text/calendar" for files ending in ".ICS" to the server's configuration (luckily this is a server I have control off) and it works fine for me now.
It looks like Calendar requires the mime type / content type to be:
Content-Type: text/calendar
You can check the content-type your server is providing in it's headers at the following site: http://urivalet.com/. Just paste the URL of the ICS file you are trying to subscribe to and scroll through the headers to see the value for "Content-Type". Let the server administrator know if it needs to be changed to text/calendar for *.ics files.

Synchronizing Notes to iphone (without using iCloud of course)

I can't find a way to synchronize Notes to my iPhone directly (using internet based services like iCloud for personal data out of the question of course). How?

Pretty sure, that like many who used to sync through iTunes to Mail, he'd like to sync to his desktop without having to put all his notes onto the internet.
I'd have preferred to do that to, sync through iTunes to Notes on the desktop. However Apple have left no option to do that with the new Notes program on ML. It has to be through an IMAP email account (I'm doing it but its not through iCloud, its through my ISP). I'm not happy about it but I'll live with it. If you don't have a @me.com account, you have to set one up to sync notes, and this will give you another Apple ID as well. I don't want to manage two if I can help it.
With a couple of recent incidents (like the journo who had the lot deleted from MacBook, iPad and iPhone) remember just because it's cloud doesn't mean its totally secure and backed up.

Jdbc synchronous not work

I design a test scenario, http to jdbc synchronous.
I send a test message in rwb, integration Engine. but I can't see message entry in sxmb_moni, and rwb message monitoring.
When I send error sql, I can see message in sxmb_moni.
I don't know why.

Quartz Screensaver with Video - synchronous not fluent, asynchronous crashes

hey, I'm building a simple screensaver with video in Quartz Composer. Basically it's a Movie Importer patch connected to a Billboard. The movie is MPEG-4 encoded. When I set the patch to 'synchronous' mode, I get very low FPS (drops down to 2!!) - the movie doesn't play fluent at all. Changing the video patch to asynchronous mode seem to do the trick - Test & Preview mode work perfect. But now the problem is, that the actual Screensaver keeps crashing asap the video starts... :( Any idea how to get fluent output in synchronous mode or to ensure asynchronous mode keeps the screensaver running?? Cheers!

Hi I had the same problem and same response. The answer for me was, go to system preferences click on sharing, and un-tick internet sharing, and then it worked fine. but I do use internet sharing for my Iphone so then I re-tick the internet sharing. As it happens I wanted to join a three way conference last night and it wasn't happening, then I remembered to switch off internet sharing and bingo it was working again, I hope this helps. Viv

IPhone 3GS - trouble synchronizing, not enough memory available

My iPhone cannot synchronize due to lack of storage space (error message in Dutch: no memory available), but I still have more than 1GB free. Last week I installed iOS 5.0 and since then I have trouble synchronizing. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this issue?

the message appears on iTunes on the computer, correct? Try removing an reinstalling iTunes according to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 for windows Vista or Windows 7 or this one: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 for windows XP
If you use mac: just install a fresh copy from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ , no need to remove anything.

Collections.synchronized() not working?

I have an ArrayList that I synchronized using the Collections.synchronized() method as such:

It has nothing to do with synchronization. You should use standard for loop instead for each. The secon one uses hidden iterator to iterate over Iterable and you are trying to change the songFileWordImages list while its iterator is in use. Thus any subsequent modification to this list while its iterator is in use will result in java.util.ConcurrentModificationException. Simply replace the for each loop with standard for over iterator and remove an item using iterator remove() method:

what exactly does this mean?

Notes Disappeared

Hi, I am using OSX mountain Lion and I figured out a problem with the Notes app. The Notes will suddenly disappear and after launchng the app several times it will come back. But the point is, could anyone solve the problem for it not to disappear, and also, I checked it today and found that there are exactly same Notes being copied for several times. Will it disappear if I delete one of them? Can anyone help solve the problem? Thank you

Check the Mail, Contacts & Calendar preference pane to make sure you're not synchronizing Notes in more than one account.
If you're not, disable Notes synchronization temporarily.
Quit Notes, if it's running.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes
Copy the whole line of text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop.
The folder you're moving is named "com.apple.Notes" It is not the subfolder named "Data" or anything else.
Re-enable Notes synchronization.
Relaunch Notes and test. If it works now, delete the folder you moved. Otherwise, quit again, and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place.
Caution: If you delete some or all of the contents of the selected folder, but leave the folder itself in place, the application may not launch. Deleting the folder will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

How do I save my notes?

These days, whenever i make a new note, i have to make the same one several times before it will actually save on my icloud. It always says it's saving at the top of the window, but if i close the app or even make a new note it disappears. i've tried checking my icloud on safari, my ipad, even my emails but i can't recover them from anywhere. Is there a way to make sure it saves the first time around?

Ecatt synchronous and asynchronous update

I want some details about ECATT. In the UI control tab of test configuration there are around six start modes .What is the difference between
process in background synchronous local, process in background synchronous not local and process in background asynchronous update.

Synchronus data processing is that in which the program calling the update task waits for the update work process to finish the update before it continues processing.
In Asynchronus update the callng program does not wait for update work process to finish the update and continues as normal.
A BDC done with sessions is always synchronus.
A BDC with call transaction is by default asynchronus
unless you define it explicitly as
call transaction 'XXXX' ...... update 'S'.
( If you donot define update option it is defaulted to "A" ).
The update method is of importance when one transaction locks data which may be required by a subsequent transaction . The subsequent transaction will fail if data is locked from previous one. An example would be you are creating sales order for same material in succession ( with asynchronus update ). Quite likely that some of transactions would fail due to material locked.
For large volume of data Call Transaction will be faster but you have no restart capability here. Suppose from 1000 transactions 100 fails . You will have to run the BDC program again exclusing the ones which wrere successful. However with session method you have the option to process the error transactions again in SM35 . So if you are sure that errors will not occur use call transaction else use session method.

Issue synchro Notes since new version

Hi,
I have an iPhone 3G (os 3.1.2), itunes (9.0.2.25) and Outlook (2003 SP3) under windows XP Pro.
Synchro of Contacts & Calendar work fine.
Firts time I have synchronized NOTES it works.
But after installing a new version (itunes or/and iphone, I didin't remmember) NOTES synchro failed.
After investigation I find that NOTES are replicated to my iPhone only if they are on 'Handled Synchronisation' Outlook folder.
How to modify this & come back to replicate Notes from NOTES folder.

Yes, Bee, I clear the cache and history on a regualr basis, and I clear the cookies, too. And this was my habit when Safari was working fine for me, so it's not that.
Interesting what you say about MacKeeper. Others on this site seem to detest it, though I haven't see it cause any trouble (I don't use their anti-virus stuff or any realtime protection, though, I only use it for cleaning up duplicate files, etc.). I'll read more about it.
And I installed that way before the new versions of Safari came out and had no problems then, either, so I don't think it's the culprit.
