Synchronizing Page between grids in HFR

This is not only a question, but also a bit of an explanation - it might save someone decent amount of time. It is about behaviour in HFR 11.1.2.2 when it comes to using "Merge similar prompts" option in Workspace when running the report with multiple grids using the same Page/prompt.
I wanted to create report that has (let's say) 2 grids - one main, and one hidden "helper" grid that calculates some total to be displayed in the main grid (e.g., if you want to show some benchmark value against your own ones). I set both grids to use the same dimension in their Page sections. Other properties of those Page dimensions were also set to be the same - both were driven by Prompt, and were limited to the Lvl 0 members of that dimension. Based on documentation, I was expecting that if I opened report in Workspace, with "Merge similar Prompts" option checked on, that I would have report with my main grid displayed with the Page combo box showing all the members I previously allowed to be selected, and that as I change my choice in Page (e.g., picking different Payees), that the hidden "helper" grid would simultaneously change its Page member to the same one, thus displaying benchmark amounts appropriate for each Payee.
Well, yes and no. If I open the report in PDF mode, and enter multiple members for Payee dimension in its prompt (or a parent member), I get wanted results: report has a separate page for each selected Payee in the prompt, and the hidden grid produces proper benchmark number for each. But if I open the report in HTML mode, initial amounts are fine, until I change Page member in my main grid - instead that the Page member in the hidden grid changes too (as I would expect), nothing happens. Result is that my main grid now shows results for another Payee, while the benchmark number, that is coming from the hidden grid, stays the same. Not what I would expect.
So, I am either doing something wrong here, or it's just another quirk of this tool (and there are many). I hope it's the former, so if it is me missing something, please share here what it is, and how to make it work. If not, at least this post could same someone from hours of futile trying and experimenting, until they realize the same.

On an iPad, how do I insert a blank page between two using iWork Pages?

I realize how many times I used the word 'pages' in the question, I was unable to think of a less confusing way to word it. :)
I am using an iPad with Pages loaded on it. All software is up-to-date. I have downloaded a few templates apps to use with it. I have figured out how to add a blank page to the end of the document (by hitting enter at the base of the previous page before it). However, I would like advice or assistance adding a blank page between two existing pages. The other "trick/work around" is not effective. I'd even appreciate learning how to change the order of the pages so I may place the blank sheet where I need it.

Position the cursor where desired by touching the screen. In the selection bubble that appears, i.e., Select, Select All, Paste, Insert, choose Insert and from the insert menu choose Page Break. Two Page breaks will produce a blank page.

if you have hundreds of orchestration means lot of small small business processes which are tightly coupled...
It is better to publish process / orchestration as service so it will SOA base ..it will work isolate. but remember if you publish more web base service. it will be burden on IIS. we have only one Host instance to handle..we can't create more host
instance to handle like in-process host in one server..we have to go for cluster environment..so first approach will be window base service (if possible achieve business process ) to handle by in-process host instance.
If you have many small small services then we need one master service to watch/process all the services.
Exmaple...
Like one process A, need to execute five small services/processes a1,b1,a2,c1,c3
and Process B need to execute four small services/processes b1,b2,a1,c1
You have to go for canonical schema and master entry table where you can dynamically change or attached or remove small service.

How to move pages between documents WITHOUT elements shifting

Hi everyone! My team members and I are so frustrated over what I think should be a really simple issue: copying/moving/dragging pages between documents and NOTHING CHANGING.
Whenever we move pages between documents (which we have to do on a monthly basis - moving content into client branded files), at least ONE thing will shift and it usually has to do with overset text and/or text wrap. We have googled our brains out. We've tried everything on this list How-To: 10 Techniques for Copying Pages Between InDesign Documents | CreativePro.com and in the various Lynda tutorials we've looked at. We have combined our powers and still can not solve this problem so now I come to you, hoping that you can please please please help us figure out this issue before one of us throws a computer out the window.
We have this one document. And this is what one of the problem pages looks like. Everything is on one layer. (look at the section marked 5)
Then I move the pages (copy/paste the content; drag and drop the pages; etc.) into the destination document so we can apply branding.
AND THIS HAPPENS.
WHY does this text suddenly become overset?
The preferences of both documents are IDENTICAL. In fact, Document B was originally created from Document A.
AND FUN FYI: I took Document A and Saved As a new name. Opened it the new name. And tried moving the pages into the newly named document -- and the SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED.
I am going to bash my head into a wall. Can someone please shed some light on this? Have you seen this before? How do we fix it??

That's not something that I have ever heard, but since I haven't heard everything, I suppose it's possible. What you may be thinking of is that some people use idml to migrate a file to a lower version, and if that lower version lacks a feature of the version that created the file, you will either lose or modify the way that that feature worked in the original. I don't think that even in that scenario that a feature that was present in both versions would go away just because it took a trip through idml to get to an earlier version. And if idml botched shadow or effects, nobody would use it, and I don't think Adobe would have it.

The thing that Save-As does is remove little bits of data associated with undos that a normal Save retains. Sometimes this data can lead to problems, so any time you do it, it will help, but if you do it at stage 37 and you hand off at stage 38, you will have cleared out most all of anything that may have built up over time. I don't want to give the impression that it is required, but it certainly doesn't hurt, and is probably a good idea to Save-As periodically.

Reader XI, placing blank page between document pages?

I have Adobe Reader XI, Version 11.0.2. In the last two weeks one our agents readers started placing a blank page between document pages. We have re-installed the product a couple time, reset standard defaults, and it is stil placing blank pages between document pages. Any ideas to rectify the problems. Every document he pulls up this happens.

Can you give us a link to a document with these pages?
Reader cannot insert pages into a PDF file so something must be up with the PDF's themselves.

Insert PDF page between PDF pages

I've asked this over on the acrobat forum but no response so I'm trying my luck here.
I've got a 500 page pdf that's 4 up.
And I"ve got a 1 page pdf 4 up that's the reverse for the 500 pages.
I'd like to insert the 1 page pdf in between each of the pages in the 500 page pdf, effectively giving me a 1000 page pdf.
I've tried Multipage importer along with another script to insert a master page between pages but honestly - it takes far too long to process a 500 page multipage import then insert a b master with the page and export back to PDF, taking well over 45 minutes.
Especially when I tried job no.2 with a 1500 page pdf where a pdf needs to be inserted between each of those pages.
Plus it ties up the entire computer.
Does anyone know of a way to insert 1 page pdf in between a multipage pdf?

to install it, close acrobat, and then copy the script into this location (assuming you work on a mac using Acrobat XI)

restart acrobat and when a file is open, there should be two new options available under "undo" in the edit menu: collate and reverse. collate works by getting file A and interleaving it with file B, so both files need to be the same page length. In Eugene's case, this would have meant creating a common back file that was as many pages as the front, but that isn't too hard to do via the finder and the "combine files into a single PDF" function in Acrobat.
That said, my earlier "bonkers" approach using the split feature worked too, but the collate script is far, far easier.

please can someone tell me if it is possible to copy pages between applications in APEX 3.0 onwards?
We are currently on APEX 2.0, where I don't think it is possible to copy pages from one application to another.

That will work only if the applications share the same workspace, However in this case, using the copy option, as Andy described, seems simpler.
If you want to import the page into a different machine, the target application must reside on a workspace with the same ID as the source workspace (most likely, the target workspace was created by importing the source workspace.

Lets say you want to replace page -2 in document -1 with page-2 from document 2.
- Open Document -1 in Designer.
- Without closing Document -1, open Document -2 in designer.
- Goto designer view in document 2. Navigate to page-2. Right click > coly (Note: It will be copied as a subform).
- Goto Document -1. Go to the hierarchy. Select Page-2. Delete.
- In page-1 . Paste. The page-2 would be pasted as a subform.
- Drag the subform in the hierarchy and rename as Page-2.
Second option: If you want you can also use page-2 of document -2 as fragment and embed it in document-1

Moving pages between spaces

Hi Everyone,
i am in difficult situation, please provide any input. it would be great help to me.
I have few pages in each spaces, i was wondering if there is a way i could move these pages between other parent spaces.
All i know now is : i can export each or all spaces which would give me .ear file and when i look into it, i see pages under .....\oracle\webcenter\page\scopedMD\sd0b3d144_bb8d_401f_8126_2fa630ab0c90\ like page2.jspx, page3.jspx, etc but i don't see content in it.....
Note: we haven't used any content presenter.
All pages and spaces are created out of the box by going through Administration in the webcenter.

You can not rearrange pages or move them from one chapter to another. However, you can move (or copy/paste) sections.
Go to... iBook Menu... Help... iBooks Author Help... Set up your book... Add, reorder, or delete chapters, sections, and pages.
From the iBook help menu:
In the Book pane (shown above), do either or both of the following:
To change the order of chapters: Drag them.
To change the order of sections: Drag a section to a new location. You can also drag a section from one chapter to another.

Moving pages between chapters

I just started using iBooks Author and when I imported a Pages file each page in iBooks Author is on a different Chapter.
Is there a way to fix this so each page is NOT on a separate Chapter.
Also is there a way to move pages between Chapters.

Empty page between frames in the output file

Hi,
I have two individual frames in the report one below the other each in different page. Everything is good but in the output pdf file I am getting an empty page between these frames. There is an empty page after the end of first frame data and before the begning of the second page data.
Any suggestion would be a great help.

I'm sure I'm pointing to the obvious answer, but have you checked that there is no page break before of after both blocks. Probably you have one more than you need.
If you have defined one block in one logical page you do not need page breaks.

Oracle marketing speaks of grid as a concept with their technologies enabling the grid. Other companys offer products that turn computers into (their defintion of) a grid - Sun's Grid Engine, Avaki's Grid, and Platform's LSF come to mind.
Gotta love the marketing folks; especially at Oracle. It seems to me that when a product doesn't succeed, they tend to rebrand and reintroduce.

In keynote - Leather Book theme - is there a way to remove the artwork in the middle of the cover page (between the two text boxes) (the squiggly thing)??

I am trying to create a poster - in Keynote - transferring it to PDF then to JPEG so I can print it - and while I like the background in this Keynote theme (leather book) I can't seem to remove the artwork that is positioned between the two text boxes. Does anyone know how??? Can it even be done?

I somehow ended up on creating a new master slide. I can FINALLY access the artwork - it has a box around it of x's - but I can't seem to do anything. Delete doesn't work. Trying to shrink the box doesn't work. I'm not getting a dialog box when I click on it that is specific to the x'ed area. It pertains to the full background page. I'm obviously missing something - the fact that I have never been in Keynote before may have something to do with it! :-)
