Synchronizing pod cast subscriptions between machines

Anybody know how to get subscribed podcasts synchronized between machines? Like bookmarks in Safari that are synchronized between machines? I don't care if each machine pulls down it's own local copy of the pod cast, I just don't want to repeat administration on my laptop and G5 separately.

I found a solution. Or rather one occurred to me. I dragged the podcast entries on to the desktop where they turned into links. Then I dragged them into a mail message and sent it to myself. On the other machine, I dragged the links into iTunes.

The new podcast app is great but it seems that podcasts in the app should be synced to all devices via the cloud. Does it do this, mine does not.

I think I have figured out how syncing works for podcast playback. The podcast must be downloaded and not streaming on both devices. The settings are individual for both devises as well so you must change each setting for each podcast (nice but also pain in the butt). It appears that the server looks to see which device the downloaded podcast was last played on and the time stamp then the next device you begin playing the same downloaded podcast on it will automatically move to that last played time stamp.
The key for synced playback to work is to set any podcasts you have to auto download and specify how many you want it to download. Once the podcasts are downloaded on both devices playback will sync across both from the last played device.
Seems there is some room for improvement here, ie option to sync settings, podcasts downloaded & subscribed, maybe in a future update.

Iphone switching between pod cast and Ipod shuffle

Hello, I have an IPhone 3 G and while I am running at my gym it keeps switching between my IPod and my podcast player. I have checked my internet connections and it is fine. I know I am not hitting the shuffle buttoon because I turn the sceen saver off, after I have selected the Pod Cast music that I like. Is it the head phones or the IPhone?

One thing that might help out.
The button on the headphones does not have the ability to shuffle media files.
One click to pause or play. two clicks to advance to the next track.

Cannot listen to blog talk radio pod casts says episode is temporarily unavailable

For the last month I have not been able to listen an any pod casts downloaded to my I-Phone (even though the pod cast is downloaded to my phone). It says the pod cast is UNAVAILABLE. Underneath this it says: This episode is "temporarily unavailable." I have checked my settings on my WI FI. I have been able to listen all pod casts that are not from Blog Talk Radio. I have checked the feed on my phone and the pod cast is downloaded. It just won't play. I have also check the updates to the pod casts. I have even reset the phone. Everything is fine. Any suggestions?

This is bad - I have an Apple automated response that they got my report on 12/6, 12/10 and 12/14, and I haven't heard anything from them since the 6th when I got one reply that told me to do things I tried before reporting the problem. Between the 6th and 10th I replied to their response 4 times and they ignored me, forcing me to report a problem with two more items that wont download but getting no response.
How do they get away with this kind of behavior, especially for someone with FIVE Core 2 Duo macs and thousands of dollars of of iTunes store purchases? I'm getting really ******.

How do i add multiple people in one pod cast

me and my friends are trying to make some pod cast for my youtube channel. the problem is not all of us can get together to make it. i wanted to know how we can all be in the pod cast at the sametime?

Skype works really well - if the person initiating the call does not have anything else running on their computer and they have a good internet connection.

You can use any good digital recorder in place of the iRiver shown - I actually now use a Marantz PMD-660 - which is definitely a little overkill.

Yes.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
You can figure out using it with another machine from that too

I just got my first ipod, a refurbished 3G touch. I went to try to dowload a pod cast and I recieved an error message saying that it could not be played on this ipod. What is going on?

Was the podcast in the podcast section of your iTunes library and did you sync the podcast to the iPod?

i have succesfully added a video podcast to itunes thru iweb. the pod cast is up and running on itunes. i made the second podcast and put it into iweb. how do i get it to go to itunes? thanks for helpin the newb!

Find the xml file belonging to the second podcast and note its URL. It's very likely at the root level of the folder the second site is in. Submit that to iTunes as a new podcast, just as you did with the first one.

I use the Zen Micro Explorer and select the 'Import' function. You gotta browse to you Podcasts, select them and then transfer. Personally, I change the Genre to Podcast so they're all in the same menu on the Micro.

Transfer Podcast Subscriptions Between Macs?

I've got to put my MacBook Pro in the shop for a few days, so I'm going to be using my old PowerBook while it is gone (it runs OS X 10.5.8). Is there any way I could transfer just my podcast subscriptions between the two Macs so I can keep listening to my programs (approximately 45 of them) while the MacBook Pro is gone?

ITune delete pod casts when syncing

Hi, I download few pod casts on my iPhone and iPad but I don’t subscribe them through iTunes. I just use "Get more episodes" link in iPod application. Also in my iTunes I have not selected pod cast sync option. But every time I sync my iPhone or iPad it removes all my pod casts. Is there any way to stop this happening please?

Either subscribe to the podcasts and use iTunes to sync them to the device, or stop syncing.
The device (and iTunes) are doing exactly what they are designed to do.

Pod Cast slow down

This one has been bugging me for a while.I love podcasts and are a little disappointed in the lack of options on the Nokia Pod Cast appMy N96 is being slowed down by amongst other things the weight of podcasts I have downloaded.Would it be to simple to have an option allowing the user to set how many episodes are kept before the old ones get removed.If I blanket remove them all the next time I sync the device they all come in again. Is there a better podcast option?

Welcome to the forum.
If you have created either a Roll, or Crawl, with the Animation Preset, then you will want to increase the Duration of that Title, to slow it down. You can do this by click+dragging on the Tail of the Title.
Or, you can create a static Title, then animate it by Keyframing the Fixed Effect>Motion>Position over time. That allows for much more control.

Disk image moved between machines--shouldn't this work?

Hello, I am having a problem making a functional DVD. Here's the scenario:
I have a MacBook Pro (2009) with iMovie '09 installed, and I have a project I want to burn. The optical drive is broken, and the smart folks at Apple decided that they'd make it impossible for my shiny new external superdrive to work with my MacBook Pro. BUT, I also have a MacBook Air 2012 which can use the superdrive just fine. I can't transfer the iMovie project between machines--iMovie '11 has some terrible bugs when you try to import still photographs. So my solution was this:
--on the MBP, export the movie from iMovie as a quicktime .mov,
--open the .mov in iDVD (after experimentation, this gives MUCH better results than choosing "export to iDVD" in iMovie)
--in iDVD, save as a disk image
--copy the .img file (using a thumb drive) to the MBA
--Use Disk Utility on the MBA to burn the disk image just transferred onto a DVD using the external superdrive
Could someone tell me where this elaborate chain is likely to go wrong? The first disc I tried creating like this could be played on a computer using VLC (and the menu was operational, it wasn't just reading the video file), but it didn't work on either of the regular DVD players I tried.
Any help troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated. Here are the details of all the settings:iMovie 09 -> export using quicktime -> file type .mov -> compression type H.264, Frame rate current, Key frames automatic, compressor quality Best, encoding Best Quality, Data Rate automatic. In iDVD Preferences I chose NTSC (I'm in North America), encoding Professional Quality, and the correct DVD type (dual layer). In Disk Utility on the MBP I just dragged the transferred .img file into the left-hand pane, selected it and hit Burn.
When I transferred the .img file, that was all I transferred between machines.

How can I find out whether it (the ext Hard Disk) is formatted as Mac OS extended?
• Select it on DeskTop/Finder (one Click)
• then go to File and down to Show Info - or - [cmd+I]
• read formatted as : nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
And lastly I read elsewhere that DVD-R would be more reliable than DVD+R.
DVD+R are a more modern format and by so more reliable - BUT OLD DVD-Players can not read them so I chose them due to not knowing what player it will be played on.
And I think that if the DVD was able to be read on another computer, then it could not have had burn errors right?
No - but different devices has better or worse Error Correcting Functions - so keeping the amount of Burn Errors dowm = More devices can play them.
