Synchronizing while loading the Source database

Hi,
can someone explain the impacts of synchronizing and loading the source DB at the same time?
We have partitioned the cube by branches and month. Now the first branch delivers data and we are processing the Dims and the partitions for this branch and month. When finished we synchronizing the DBs. While we do this the next branch delivers data and
would like to start processing. Should we? As I understand SSAS places a write lock on the target and a Read Committed on the Source and only the affected files are transfered.

According to your description, there are many partitions on your database, after processed a partition you need to sync it to second server, and at the same time you need to process the next partition. So you want to know are there any impacts of synchronizing
and loading the source DB at the same time, right?
Based on my research, SQL Server Analysis Services starts a transaction on the processing server so that you cannot process or alter the database while it is being synchronized. Besides, it seems that it's meaningless to do the synchronization after processed
a partition, because it sync the whole database to the second server instead single partition. So you can sync the database to the second server after processed all the partitions.

Devika,
You have to stop all your adapters, your repository, close all IStudio client and stop all sessions connected to this schema before running the oaiimport.
If you don't do this the oaiimport will not work properly as the script will not be able to drop the user and will try to re-create existing objects.
Tip : use the following select to list the session using oaihub902 user (and get rid off them)
select username, count(*)

order by count(*) desc, username

Hi Team,
We are trying to configure the Power View in SharePoint 2013. We did the entire configuration by following below steps. When we open the excel workbook (2013) containing
Power View sheet (using excel web services) deployed in SharePoint Document library, we get the below error.
“An error occurred while loading the model for the item or data source
'EntityDataSource'. Verify that the connection information is correct and that you have permissions to access the data source.”
Steps followed for configuring Power View in SharePoint Server 2013 (Single Machine setup):
Installed SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise edition
Did not configure it at this time
Installed SQL Server 2012 with default instance installation (selected every features)
Later installed SP1 for SQL Server 2012
After that installed Analysis Server in SharePoint mode (SQL Server PowerPivot for SharePoint)
Again installed another Analysis Server and selected the tabular mode of data model
Then ran the configuration wizard of Share point 2013 for farm configuration (only for central admin creation)
Later we ran the PowerPivot for SharePoint 2013 (spPowerpivot.msi)
Then using the Power Pivot Configuration tool for 2013 and completed all the steps and configured the excel service and registered the above two analysis service instances.
Questions/Doubts are:
Is our steps followed as mentioned above is correct for configuring Power View in SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise edition?
Is the SQL Server 2012 Enterprise edition with SP1 installed is sufficient to view Power View sheets in SharePoint 2013 or we need to use the SQL Server 2012 SP1
CTP3 software for Power View feature as mentioned in the below link.

I'll bet that I know the answer to this one - and you probably won't like it ;)
Here's the telling portion of that error: "We cannot locate a server to load the workbook Data Model."
This error is thrown in two scenarios; the first, when you haven't registered an analysis server. The second appears to be the issue you're having:
PowerPivot requires SQL Server 2012 SP1. Microsoft issued a release of SQL Server 2012 SP1 that really wasn't SP1...
Check the version of SQL that you are running. It should be version 11.0.3000 or greater. If it's not, you have the wrong "SP1" installed. The correct one is
here.
Here's the bad news- you can't simply redeploy the correct one... because the installer already thinks that SP1 is installed. You'll have to backup (or detach and copy) your databases, then re-install SQL with the correct SP1, then restore or reattach
the databases. Once you've done that, PowerPivot and PowerView will work properly.
I sincerely hope this resolves your issues - we wasted TWO WEEKS of our time with this problem!

I also configured excel services correctly. Everything works fine but the powerview doesn't work!

Based on the current error message, the error can be related to the
Claims to Windows Token Service (C2WTS) and is an expected error under certain conditions. To verify the issue, please check the aspects below:
     1. The C2WTS Windows service and C2WTS SharePoint service are both running.
     2. Check the SQL Server Browser service is running on the machine that has the PowerPivot instance of SSAS.
     3. Check the domain. You're signing into SharePoint with a user account in some domain (call it Domain A). When Domain A is equal to Domain B which SharePoint server itself is located (they're the same domain), or Domain
A trusts Domain B.
In addition, the error may be caused by Kerberos authentication issue due to missing SPN. In order to make the Kerberos authentication work, you need to configure the Analysis Services to run under a domain account, and register the SPNs for the Analysis
Services server.
To create the SPN for the Analysis Services server that is running under a domain account, run the following commands at a command prompt:
• Setspn.exe -S MSOLAPSvc.3/Fully_Qualified_domainName OLAP_Service_Startup_Account
Note: Fully_Qualified_domainName is a placeholder for the FQDN.
• Setspn.exe -S MSOLAPSvc.3/serverHostName OLAP_Service_Startup_Account

Issue while loading the library files(".so" or ".sl") using JNI

Hi,
We are loading the c library files using system.load during the init phase of servlet.
While loading the application for the first time everything goes smooth and application behaves as expected.
We are facing the below issue when we try restarting the application through admin console in case of WAS (web sphere) for any patch deployment in the application.
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Native Library /users/test1/siva/jnilib.so already loaded in another classloader.
If we restart the complete WAS every thing works fine.
There is no specific System.unload function available in java to remove the loaded library in JVM.
Is there any alternate way to unload the library which is loaded in class loader to resolve this issue which can be called in the destroy phase of servlet?
Any help here is highly apreciated.

You have a class with native methods that relies on the shared library. The class and the shared library are loaded into a class loader. If the class loader is unloaded by the GC then the native library will be unloaded as well.
A class loader can be collected by the GC if if the classes loaded by it are no longer actively references. So ALL class instances can be collected.
If the above is true then by running System.gc() twice it will collect the classloader and thus the native library.
So in your situation it might work if your app server allows you do GC (full GC is better if that is an option). You could try unloading the app, then doing the GC option several times, then do a load. Try the GC option about 6 times and the reduce it down to see if 2 work.
If that doesn't work then there could be some programmatic solutions using the same idiom.

Hi,
I think you are facing an invalid character issue.
This issue can be resolved by correcting the error records in PSA and updating it into the target. For that the first step should be to identify if all the records are there in PSA. You can find out this from checking the Details tab in RSMO, Job log , PSA > sorting records based on status,etc. Once its confirmed force the request to red and delete the particular request from the target cube. Then go to PSA and edit the incorrect records (correcting or blanking out the invalid entries for particular field InfoObject for the incorrect record) and save it. Once all the incorrect records are edited go to RSA1>PSA find the particular request and update to target manually (right click on PSA request > Start update immediately).
I will add the step by step procedure to edit PSA data and update into target (request based).
In your case the error message says Error : Record 1 :Value 'Kuldeep Puri Milan Joshi '. You just need to conver this to Capital letter in PSA and reload.
Edit the field to KULDEEP PURI MILAN JOSHI in PSA and push it to target.
Identifying incorrect records.
System wont show all the incorrect records at the first time itself. You need to search the PSA table manually to find all the incorrect records.
1. First see RSMO > Details > Expand upate rules / processing tabs and you will find some of the error records.
2. Then you can go to PSA and filter using the status of records. Filter all the red requests. This may also wont show the entire incorrect records.
3. Then you can go to PSA and filter using the incorrect records based on the particular field.
4. If this also doesnt work out go to PSA and sort (not filter) the records based on the particular field with incorrect values and it will show all the records. Note down the record numbers and then edit them one by one.
If you want to confirm find the PSA table and search manually."
Also Run the report RS_ERRORLOG_EXAMPLE,By this report you can display all incorrected records of the data & you can also find whether the error occured in PSA or in TRANSFER RULES.
Steps to resolve this
1. Force the request to red in RSMO > Status tab.
2. Delete the request from target.
3. Come to RSMO > top right you can see PSA maintenace button > click and go to PSA .
4.Edit the record
5. Save PSA data.
6. Got to RSA15 > Search by request name > Right click > update the request from PSA to target.

This should solve your problem for now.
As a long term you can apply some user exit in source system side or change your update rules to ensure that this field is getting blanked out before getting loaded in cube or add that particular char to permitted character list in BW.
RSKC --> type ALL_CAPITAL --> F8 (Execute)
OR
Go to SE38 and execute the program RSKC_ALLOWED_CHAR_MAINTAIN and give ALL_CAPITAL or the char you want to add.
Check the table RSALLOWEDCHAR. It should contain ALL_CAPITAL or the char you have entered.

Error while loading the data from text file

Hi,
I got an error " Data Value Encountered before all Dimensions selected" while loading the data from the text file.
Can any one please suggest me the solution.

Possible Solutions
Make sure that the data source is valid.
Is a member from each dimension specified correctly in the data source or rules file?
Is the numeric data field at the end of the record? If not, move the numeric data field in the data source or move the numeric data field in the rules file.
Are all members that might contain numbers (such as "100") enclosed in quotation marks in the data source?
If you are using a header, is the header set up correctly? Remember that you can add missing dimension names to the header.
Does the data source contain extra spaces or tabs?
Has the updated outline been saved?

Error while loading the data

Hi,
We are trying to copy data from one cube to another(it's exact copy). There are more than 11 million records so we have used calendar month as filter and divided the data in to many parts.
While loading the first request to the target cube, it failed resulting in a short dump. I checked in ST22 and it showed "Runtime Errors DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR , Exception CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB" and I also found a message "ORA-00060: deadlock detected while waiting for resource" in the description of the Short Dump.
I found many threads here relevant to this exact issue but the only solution that I could find is to include a delete index and create index process in the chain before and after the data load process to the target cube. In our case, the target cube has no data and this would be the first request to the cube so there is no need to delete index in the first place but still the data load is failing.
For each load there are 50 data packages and 50k records for each packages. Only one or two packages have failed. Is there any way to recover only these two separatly instead of deleting the whole request and repeating the process.
If you have encountered a similar issue or if you have any suggestions, Please do help.

Can you see which data packages have RED status? Click on the live of the RED data package, and you have to find an ICON with update manually, or go to MENU -> REQUEST -> POST MANUALLY.
if you are lucky, it helps. Do not forget that this runs in DIALOG process, so don't leave BREAK.POINT in your transformation.
If you need any help, please let me know.
(The DEADLOCK problem: change the DTP BATCH setting, because it has problem with paralel loading, and there os a database deadlock. I suggest you to load in one process so: open DTP. after it, go to GOTO menu -> SETTINGS FOR BATCH MANAGER -> NUMBER OF PROCESSES, overwrite with 1. With that, deadlock may not occur.)

Why am I getting 'Unable to signon to the Source Database.' just prior to 'Running the DBTSFIX Report' step.

We are upgrading from Tools 8.53 to Tools 8.54 in HCM. I am receiving logging event 'Unable to signon to the Source Database.' just prior to 'Running the DBTSFIX Report' step. I found case 1545297.1 where it said to choose initial move as opposed to move

For Tools only upgrades, while creating the jobs, you should choose 'Initial' and not 'Move to production'

after PO & before GR
1. make qm procurement active
2. set a control key with delivery release, 01 inspection type active
3. create q info record qi01 for that material , plant , vendor- in inspection control tab enter01 insp. type
4. when po is created , go to qi07 select chedule line and click on inspection lot save
5. qa32 check for source inspection lot, this will be non stock relevent u can record results and defects
after PGI in sales
1. activate insp. type 10
2. create q info record for sales qv51- click on new info record.enter material and select after delivery
3. when pgi is done it will create inspection lot for recording purpose

Records was deleted at R/3 sys - getting error while loading the data

Hi All,
we are extracting the data from 2LIS_12_VCITM, 2LIS_11_VASCL, 2LIS_11_V_ITM, 2LIS_13_VDITM and 2LIS_11_VAITM into Cube RSD_C03. But one record (Sales Order) was deleted at R/3 system so we getting the error message that Caller 09 contains an error message while loading the data from 2LIS_12_VCITM.
we have replicate the DataSource and activate Trans rules but no use still getting the same error.
when we execute the data source 2LIS_12_VCITM at RSA3 with update mode as D (Transfer of the deltas since the last request)getting error message that Errors occurred during the extraction
and we are getting the zero records at RSA3 for the 2LIS_12_VCITM as update mode as F (Transfer of all requested data)
And getting shot dump that TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED at BW side.
Could you kindly suggest me any one how to rectify this error.

Then activate the update rules for ODS , InfoCube and InfoCube .
Then i tried to load the data into InfoCube from ODs .

i create a worksheet in discoverer plus olap but i get the error *"D4O-1009 An error occurred while loading the worksheet"..*
even i uninstall the catalog and install the catalog..
when i create the worksheet and saved..of i exit..and try to open back...it show this error..

Please don't keep creating new postings for the same issue as it is hard to keep answering multiple posts about the same thing.
If you have done all of the things suggested by Keith in my previous reply, which as I say is what I would have done, then you really ought to raise this as a service request to Oracle.
I'm advising this because the particular error you are encountering does not come up in my database of fixes neither could I find any reference to it in either the OTN or MetaLink forums. This needs to be brought to Oracle's attention.

Are you trying to access native directory just after you start the services or you wait for some time and then give it a try?

Did you try to restart the services and check if it works after the service reboot?
