Synchronizing with 64-bit Outlook 2010 via Ovi Sui...

Is it possible to use Ovi Suite under 64-bit Windows 7 for synchronizing the phone's contacts and organizer with the 64-bit version of MS Outlook included in Office 2010?

I have tried it. It works now but there were hours of frustration along the way. I now have a device with calendar and Contacts syncing to Outlook 2010 X64.
Things I encountered along the way were:
Repeat seizures where the e71 and OVI sat there spinning there wheels and getting nowhere
After attempting for a second time to reload my backup, a bricked e71 that I eventually found out how to unlock by performing a hard reset
More seizures
The steps that eventually got me sorted out are:
Remove (via Programs and Features in Win 7) every piece of Nokia crapware including the USB drivers
I used CC Clean to hose out the registry (after reading advice on another forum)
Reload OVI and configure it to talk to Outlook
I did not attempt to reload the backup because the last time I tried that the device bricked
Although it seems to be working my recent experiences with Nokia hardware, software and support simply demonstrate my experience is not a one-off. Nokia is on a downward slope.
I will never buy or recommend anything with the Nokia brand on it.

  • Synchronizing with 64-bit Outlook 2010 via PC Suit...

Is it possible to use PC Suite under 64-bit Windows 7 for synchronizing the phone's contacts and organizer with the 64-bit version of MS Outlook included in Office 2010?

As others above, I have been using PC Suite successfully for a number of years now with various versions of Microsoft operating systems and Office. Now I have Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2010 (both x64) and now PC Suite refuses to synchronise, and the previous contributor says to use OVI Suite because PC Suite is about to be discontinued.
For me, OVI Suite does NOT work properly anyway, it keeps chewing up increasing amounts of CPU cycles, so I have disabled it. PC Suite works well, but now does not synchronise with Outlook 2010.
If this issue cannot be resolved, my contract is due to be renewed in a months time, and I may well choose a phone other than Nokia.
PS: I tried synchronising in Ovi Suite -- and failed. Ovi Suite could not even find my broadband connection, it seems. Not very clever is it?
Customer service is about listening to customers as well as informing them what is happening. Neither seems to be at the forefront of Nokia right now. The result of that is likely to be that Nokia may well lose long-time loyal customers. That will hurt (the bottom line).

  • I use a Win7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my calendar and contacts. I can enter data in my Outlook Calendar and it will appear in iCloud, but data entered in iCloud does not sync back to Outlook.  ICloud syncs to my iphone fine both ways.

I use Win 7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my Contacts and Calendar.  They have stopped syncing...mostly.
Now, appointments I enter on my local Outlook (iCloud) Calendar goes up to iCloud fine.  But, data I enter on iCloud directly does not come down to my local Outlook iCloud Calendar.  If I reboot the computer, the iCloud data shows up.
Also, Contacts I try to enter on my Outlook (iCloud) Contacts goes up to iCloud fine, but does not show up in my local iCloud Contacts.
All syncing works with my iPhone.
I have signed out of iCloud on PC.  I have stopped syncing and re-started.  No change.
I have an .aplzod folder for iCloud.  I have a separate Earthlink.net.pst email account in Outlook and a me.com.pst Outlook email account (which I don't actually use) listed under Data Files.
Any help would be appreciated.  Curious that Outlook will upload to iCloud but not receive downloads unless I reboot.  However, rebooting does not download the missing Contacts.

    Hi Jim!
You've started off with some good troubleshooting steps, so let's see if we can take this a little further and figure out what the issue is with your iCloud contacts and calendars. I have two articles here that will help you troubleshoot this issue a little further, but the troubleshooting steps for both articles are exactly the same, so I will lay those out for you here:
Note: When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual (right-click) menu has also been disabled.
If you are having trouble with a PC (with Outlook 2007 or 2010) and iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration that is supported by iCloud. For more information, see iCloud system requirements.
When enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook ".pst" file to iCloud, and then remove the Calendars from the ".pst" file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Be sure you are looking for your data within the iCloud dataset within Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data; iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.
Make sure your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com and iCloud.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Click here for more information about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for iCloud Calendar. This also tests if the ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud in order to push and pull updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel pane. See iCloud Setup for more information about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Completely close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not moving to your other devices or vice-versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the Windows Control Panel:
In Windows 8, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
In Windows 7 and Vista, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Remove the checkmark in the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark, and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Ensure the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook.
    Outlook 2010:
    Open Outlook 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For Outlook 2007, follow these steps to verify the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For additional information about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook, see this Microsoft support document.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.

  • Does Microsoft Sync work with Windows 7 64 bit Outlook 2010 when you connect via Bluetooth?

I was using Microsoft Sync and connecting to my laptop using the sync cable when I was running a 32 bit OS and Windows Vista. I just got my new laptop and it has Outlook 2010 running on Windows 7 64 bit. I've read it'll still work using bluetooth to connect vs the  ync cable. Has anyone been successful doing it that way? I have a 700W treo.
    Thanks,
    Bob

Nope. The printer now appears in the list, but I can't print to it. The port is shown as:

  • ICloud WINDOWS 7 64 Bit sync problem with calendar of Outlook 2010

    I am using
    iPhone 4S (IOS5)
    iPad 1 (IOS5)
    PC (WINDOS 7 SR1 32 bit, Cor-2-duo) & Outlook 2010, 32 bit, at home
    PC (WINDOWS 7 SR1 64 bit, Intel i7) &  Outlook 2010 version 14.0.6106.5005 (32-Bit), in my office
together with iCoud for syncing my contacts (about 500) and calenders (2 calenders, about 3.000 and 8.000 entries) with Outlook 2010
The syncing works perfect for 1., 2. an 3., but I have severe problems with the 64bit PC:
The iCloud operating pannel is only displayed after a fresh reset of the system. Two processes are running (iCloud.exe*32, iCloudServices.exe *32), the iCloud icon on the task bar is displayed.  Opening of the iCloud operating pannel fails by all means ( via icon, via network->icloud) etc. after Outlook 2010 has started once.
After closing Outlook, a restart of Outlook is perfored but displays "loading data" till infinity. The task manager is required to shut down Outlook.
After a fresh reset outlook starts (normal behavior) and displays the contacts (complete) and both calendars, but has only downloaded during set-up only about 7.000 entries of the 11.000 entries which are still displayed in the calendar of the  web interface of iCloud and are displayed nicely on iPhone, iPad and the 32bit PC. The sync of new calendar entries works perfect between all four systems.
I have removed and reinstalled the iCloud operating panel sereal times, checked the Outlook pst file for errors -> no success.
Any suggestions how to overcome this problem?

I had a similar problem back lst year with MobileMe and outlook. I had to uninstall outlook and MM control panel completely then reinstal MM THEN Outlook and then MM would download all 5 of my MM calendars into Outlook including all events
do they stop at a certain date i remember seeing an option somewhere that specified how far back to sync appointments

  • Sync iPhone 4 with Outlook 2010 via Windows 7

Is there a fix for this problem?  I have the current updates of Outlook 2010, Windows 7, and iTunes for my iPhone 4.  I cannot sync my iPhone contacts with Outlook.  When I entered new contacts into Outlook, and sync with iPhone, the contact information does not sync.  When I had an earlier version of Outlook, the contact information was sync with my iPhone.  But now, it does not work.  I made an appointment with the Apple support technician and the technician tried to help but he could not resolve the problem.  As indicated by himself, the tech said he was their best tech, and he had not heard of this problem.  Instead, he recommended placing all my contact onto iCloud.  Again, is there a fix for this problem?

Problems with a calendar sync in Outlook can generally be traced to a corrupt appointment at some time. It can happen from a shutdown in Outlook or any number of other reasons. If you can remember when the trouble began, see if you can locate an appointment on that day. You can also try and reset the sync history in iTunes, and can also run scanpst.exe and troubleshoot your Outlook file.
I've used every version of Outlook since 2000 and have been able to trace this issue a couple of times to an appointment that has a recurring setting. You can change the view of your appointments and list them. When you do that, you may be able to locate an appointment that doesn't look right. I had to print out all of my appointments once and then reenter them. Luckily I didn't have that many, so it didn't matter. Again, this is usually something corrupt in the Outlook file that will make the problem appear, and since everything else in Outlook is syncing except the calendar, that is the place to look.

  • Any App that will bi-directionally sync iPod Touch with Windows Desktop Outlook 2010 Tasks?

    Hi All
    iPod Touch 3rd gen iOS v 5.1.1
    iTunes (for Windows) v 10.7.0.21
Windows 7 32 bit Desktop PC
Outlook 2010 32 bit with POP3 mail server
Appigo ToDo app on iPod Touch
    I reside in Canada
I have been using Appigo's ToDo Task Manager app on my Touch for almost 3 years now. With their Appgio Sync conduit, I have been able to seemlessly bi-directionally sync between the Touch and Outlook Tasks on my Desktop. Now Appigo is no longer going to support Appigo Sync. I can keep using this sync conduit BUT I will no longer be able to update my Touch's ToDo app (eventually that will be a problem).
I DO NOT use iCloud and do NOT wish to use iCloud. I also do not wish to keep my tasks (which do contain confidential information) on anyone else's cloud server. Hence, I need the ability to direct sync between my Touch and my desktop.
I've been searching the web and the App Store looking for either a way to keep using ToDo with another sync method, OR another app that will allow syncing between the it on the Touch and my Desktop.
I don't care about syncing emails since they get downloaded on my Touch regardless. I don't care about syncing Calendars and Contacts since that happens whenever I sync my Touch to iTunes.  Just Outlook Tasks that need to be synced. I also don't care for Reminders - seems like a waste of space IMHO.
I can't be the only person on the planet that doesn't want to use a cloud server, doesn't have an email exchange server and wants to keep tasks in both handheld device and desktop in sync. Please, please, please, any and all suggestions and help will be most appreciated!! IF I need to go to iOS v 6+, then I will need to purchase a new iPod Touch; a huge expense when the Touch I have is still working fine (but if one has to, one has to).
    Thanks a bunch

I'm in a similar position. Just recently migrated to iPhone from Blackberry (and liking it) but would only do so after confirming that I could sync Outlook tasks to the iPhone. Using ToDo and Appigo sync was the solution and it has worked fine. And I deal with Calendar and Contacts in a similar fashion as you.
I'm not sure I understand the options. I don't have a basic "cloud as a process objection" and cost isn't an issue. But I do want my tasks to end up synced on both my laptop (on the hard drive) and on my iPhone (and soon to come iPad). A variation on your question. Is there no way to do this?

  • Issues working with Attachments in Outlook 2010

I have 2, possibly related, problems with Outlook 2010 and email attachments.
1/ When opening a mail with attachments I cannot drag multiple attachments out to save in a folder at once.  the first attachment selected will be saved, but not subsequent ones.  Nor can I do a multiple-select and Save As via the right-click menu.
The only way around this I have found is to drag or save each document individually
2/ When opening Excel sheets (Excel 2010) directly from email, the first sheet will open normally.  But if I try to open a second sheet, whether from the same email or a different one, the second sheet doesn't open.
The only work-around i have found is to close the first sheet I opened and/or to save the second sheet to disk and then open it explicitly in a new copy of Excel
Can you give me any help in resolving these annoying behaviours?
    Many thanks
    Tim
    TimWB

    Hi Tim,
R1. If we open the email with attachments, on the Message tab, in the
Actions group, click Other Actions, and then select
Save All Attachments, will all the attachment been saved?
R2. Did you get any error message when the second sheet failed to open? Please open one Excel file, click File > Options > Advanced and then scroll down to
General section. Clear the option “Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)” and then check the issue again.
In addition, we can try to run Outlook in safe mode to check the result. Press Windows key + R, type
outlook.exe /safe in the Run dialog and press Enter.
Also try to clear Outlook Secure Temp folder to check the result. See:
    http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/securetemp.htm
Please let me know the result.

  • Issues with Contact Pictures: Outlook 2010 and BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.1.0.36

    Hi guys,
I have been trying to syncronize my contacts for many days now, with the following problems with the contact pictures:
    1) Some contacts simply do not syncronize the pictures: Randomly, some contacts where I add a Picture in Outlook 2010 do not show the pictures in my Blackberry. Even worst: If make a change in any other field, the change in that field is detected, but the former value and value of the picture simply appear blank, even when the contact has a picture in outlook.
    2) If I add a picture in Outlook it is first syncronized to the BlackBerry. If I re-run the sync, all the pictures are re-syncronized back again from the BlackBerry to Outlook, but with a lower resolution, reducing the quality of all my contact's pictures. I also syncronize my Outlook to a couple of smartphones from other companies that do display high resolution pictures, diminishing the quality of the pictures displayed in the other devices.
This has been very frustrating, please help.
    Thanks,
    Marco

Unfortunately, no one from the BlackBerry team has replied (read?) my post. I simply changed the sync options to be unidirectional so that the BB won't replace the pictures with lower quality ones, Of course, I do not use my BB anymore to create new contacts, I do it in my other phones. For those contacts not showing a picture, I deleted the contacts and created them again. I really hope that someone at Blackberry realizes that High Quality contact pictures are appreciated within the BlackBerry users community and that they do something about it.

  • Syncing appointments with Z30 and Outlook 2010

I'm having a problem with deleting appointments on either my Z30 or on Outlook 2010.  When I delete an appointment on one calendar, it remains on the other calendar when syncing.  I have the settings to sync both ways, 1 year prior and all future, and conflicts use Outlook.  Does anyone else have this problem?  How can I fix this?  I would like it to delete the appointment from both calendars when I delete it from one.  Thanks!

  • Problem sending mail with roaming profile (Outlook 2010)

    Hello all,
I hope you will be able to help me.
Here's the problem I have with Outlook 2010:
When a user opens a roaming profile on another
    PC or on his new
    PC, everything works perfectly except
    Outlook.
Outlook opens normally with all email
accounts, you can even see the email, no worries
    about that.
But when we want to send an email, it
    gets stuck in the outbox.
    Some additional info:
         - In the account settings,
you can test the account settings, it says
that everything is working (sending and receiving)
         - The only way I found today to
    operate the account is to
    completely remove and reconfigure
         - There is an error message
that says I can not write on the file C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\accountName.pst
         - The problem occurs with
all users, not just one in particular
         - The accounts are IMAP
         - Incoming emails work
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Tim,
This is a known issue in Outlook, we don't recommend using IMAP account with roaming profile.

  • Cannot Open iTunes Store Receipt With Windows 7/Outlook 2010

After making my first iTunes purchase on a new computer, every attempt to open the purchase notification e-mail from Apple causes Outlook 2010 to crash.
All Outlook Add-Ins have been removed or disabled.
No other e-mails are similarly affected.
During the crash a process called "Default IME" is also running.
Please advise how to get Apple e-mails in a non-crashing way. Thank you.

Here is an update to my previous post.
All of my e-mails are organized so I have all previous e-mails from Apple.
Every single purchase notification e-mail from Apple, after a certain date, causes Outlook 2010 to crash.
For example, those from 2005 do not crash. Those from 2009 do.
