If I delete an app on my iPhone will it be deleted from my iTunes or my wife's phone?  (Both phones use the same iTunes account)
It is easier for me to clean up my phone on the phone itself and not on the computer.
    Thanks

No. It will only be Deleted on the Device you are Deleting it from.

  • I have multiple phones on the same itunes account but now we can see everyones imessages.  Can I create a new account for imessaging?

I have multiple phones that share an apple ID for music.  The problem is that when we use imessaging we see eachothers messages.  Can I create a separate account solely for imessaging so private messages can be sent but keep the same itunes account and continue sharing music?

    Yes.

  • Can you sync your ipad & iphone to the same itunes account yet or?

its been over year now and the iPad 2 is out, its apparently evident that when something goes wrong no one response here with a solution, can you or can you not sync both a iPad and iPhone with the same iTunes account flawlessly yet, because i helped over 4 people to do this and every single method seems to be work arounds.
has anyone figured out how to sync both devices to the same itunes account with out work arounds after all your apps get scattered outside their folders?

You have always been able to sync as many devices as you like to one account/library/computer.
Plug in one device, select what you want to sync, then sync.
    Unplug that device.
Plug in the other device, select what you want to sync, then sync.

  • How can I keep contact list separate on 2 phones on the same iTunes account

I have 2 iPhones and 2 iPads on the same ITunes account. How can I keep my contact list separate on each device?

    You need to go to
    Setting
    Mail,contacts,calendars
Go to each email and unselect contacts.
Once this is complete all the contacts you add on the devices will stay local. Downfall of this is when you get a new phone you will not be able to transfer data to new phone unless you use computer to back it up

  • How do I combine three itune accounts into one? Then have three different family member have three different log-in's to sync many different devices to the same itune account ?

How do I combine three itune accounts into one? Then how do I set up three users for the one Itunes account on ONE Mac Pro Computer with one Itunes program? We are one family with 3 I-Phones, 2- I-Pads, 2- Lap tops and 3-I-Pods and would like to use one main computer to sync all our devices to.

"How do I combine three itune accounts into one? "
    You cannot.

You can copy all of the music to one computer and set up different users see:

  • Iam using 2 different i phones on the same itunes account, Can I keep the contacts seperate with syncing?

I have one itunes account and am using 2 iphones, is it possible to keep all the "contacts" seperate from the two devices, so that I dont have to have all of my husbands contacts in the phone book?  Or do I have to use 2 different itune accounts?

Your contacts are not part of your iTunes library.  iTunes only syncs contacts with your phone from a supported program such as Outlook or mac Address Book.  If you are trying to sync you contacts to the same program they will be merged.  You could, however, set up two contact groups within Outlook, one for your contacts and one for his.  Both groups would still besynced to both devices but you wouldn't have to look at the contact group you weren't interested in.  Another option would be for one of you to continue to sync with iTunes with, for example, Outlook and the other sync contacts with another service such as Google or iCloud (be sure to uncheck Sync Contacts on the Info tab of the the iTunes sync settings for this phone).

  • Can iPhone be synced on 2 computers with the same iTunes account

I have a 3G and am running OS 3.0. I've only had my phone for about a month so I am still learning. But when I got my phone, it synced to my computer fine then when i did the 3.0 update that it wanted me to do, the phone froze, had to get it restored on my mom's computer, get her iTunes acct off and mine back on, etc. Well needless to say I am scared of upgrading to 3.1 since there are so many problems right now, I also haven't put the MMS on there either yet cause its apparently not working right.
My computer is about 5 years old and has been having issues and I think that might be the problem when I updated to 3.0. (my mom's new computer restored my phone and got 3.0 on there perfectly)
I really would like to try the 3.1 upadate, my computer at work is tons better, runs perfectly, I already have iTunes on it. So now to the question, if I plug my iPhone into my work computer, logged into my iTunes account, will it sync there too, so I can do my updates or will it tell me it can't because its already synced to another computer (even though its the same account?)

We have had no issues with the update, nor has anyone we know. Most people never have an issue of any kind.
MMS is working fine for me and everyone I know.
Iphone will sync itunes content with ONE computer at a time.

  • Iphone 4s activation- 2 phones on the same itunes account

My son has used my Itunes account and I thought he started his own when he got his Iphone.  But, he didn't.  He was able to activate his phone under my account.  Now, my Iphone needed a reset and I can't re-activate it.  It keeps telling me that I can't use the id.  I put in my Apple ID but it says it can't be used to unlock the phone.  Is this a US Cellular issue or an ITunes issue? Its' annoying me terribly since I can't use my phone now.  I've tried so many different things.  Just am about ready to throw the thing out.  What do I do? Does he need to create a new account and if so, how since his phone is tied to my account now?

    Hi lsbandt,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your running into an Activation Lock issue since restoring your iPhone. Take a look at the article linked below, it will provide more details about the feature and provide suggestions on how to recover the username and password.
iCloud: Find My iPhone Activation Lock in iOS 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5818
What if I forget my Apple ID password?
If you forget your password, you can reset it at My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com) or by contacting Apple Support and verifying your identity. Once your password has been reset, it will work normally with Find My iPhone and Activation Lock.
If you forget your password and cannot reset it, you will lose access to your Apple ID and may be unable to use or reactivate your device. To help prevent this, visit My Apple ID periodically to review and update your account information.
What if I purchase a device that is still linked to the previous owner's account?
Contact the previous owner as soon as possible and ask them to erase the device and remove it from their account. For complete instructions, read how to remove a device from a previous owner's account.
    Cheers!

  • Can i cloud be used on more than one phone with the same itunes account

I have two i phones one for my kids and one for me and we have one itunes/icloud account when we have i cloud on we lose our specific contact lists.  can we not share i cloud?

I highly recommend individual iCloud accounts for stuff like syncing notes, mail, calendars, contacts, etc. My wife, kids and I have a total of 4 iCloud accounts and 1 iTunes in the Cloud account. My wife has one, I have one, my kids both have one, and we have one for iTunes in the Cloud. This way music, media, apps, and books are available across all the devices...

  • How do I sync apps from the same iTunes account to an iPhone 3G and an iPhone 4S and keep correct version for each iOS?

I have an old 3G as well as a 4S. Initially I set up a separate iTunes account for the 4S as I was worried I'd lose my old apps for 3G (as older, compatible versions aren't kept in the iTunes store so once they're gone, they're gone...). 3G is set up to sync with iTunes, 4S is inly syncing mail and conatcts through Exchange but hasn't been synced with an iTunes library for the reason above.
Is there a way to sync both phones off the same iTunes account, so I can set up each phone with some music, as well as apps, without iOS 5 versions overwriting the exisitng apps for the 3G?
To complicate things further, I don't want to sync photos, contacts, messages, etc. I just want to avoid having to duplicate all my music and pay for all the apps all over again. Suggestions?
    Cheers

    Hi gail,
Thanks for the quick reply! The music part makes sense, good to know I don't have to duplicate the lot. The big question stillr emains as to whether iTunes can cope with two different iPhones, running different versions of the iOS, and therefore different app versions.
Currently all the apps in iTunes are years old, and many haven't updated in months (years?) because the 3G is running iOS 4.2.1 (and can't be upgraded). Many of these have since been updated in the iTunes store (for the various incarnations of iPhone since) and the old versions that my 3G requires have been replaced.
I'm worried that syncing the 4S running iOS 5, and running the most recent updates for same apps, will cause iTunes to overwrite the old 3G compatible ones when I sync. Unless iTunes is smart enough to know which version of the app is for which OS, without updating the legacy version when I update the apps on the 4S?
You guys shouldn't face that problem, as iPad and iPhone apps don't replace each other (I believe? Not sure about this) as new updates are released for each app, you'd have a copy for each device (for example Evernote for iPad, and Evernote for iPhone). I can't figure out if iTunes can handle keeping separate iPhone versions for Evernote iOS 4.2.1 and Evernote for iOS 5. My gut feeling is no, but I want to amke sure before I lose the legacy versions of each app.
Of course, maybe I'm just paranoid and iTunes is in fact perfectly capable of keeping old and new apps in the same library?
    Cheers

  • How do I sync different iPhones on the same iTunes account?

I want to be able to sync two different iPhones on the same iTunes account. I want to be able to sync different music and movies. Can that be done?

"is there anyplace I watch a tutorial for this?"
Not really. And it's not that difficult at all.
Plug it in, select it and select what you want to sync.
" An APPLE rep told me to check Sync only checked songs and videos
    Manually manage music and videos"
You can do it this way but it's a lot more work.
(Apple reps are just people like you and me and don't always know everything)
"And he told me to uncheck Sync Music in the music tab"
I would not recommend this especially if syncing more than one device.
Create a playlist (or multiple) for each device.
Select the music tab and sync only the playlists you want. Then add/delete from these playlists to add/remove from the iPhone.
