Syncing a new photo album

I am trying to add a new photo album, from iPhoto onto my iPhone 4.  It is telling me that it will delete all previes photos on my iPhone!!  I dont' want anything deleted, I simply want to add a new photo album.  I have had every generation iPhone, and I am still storing every photo from those phones, is this the problem?

Are you syncing photos from a different computer?
Did you uncheck any of the photo albums that you had synced before?
Are all of the photos still on your computer?
Iphone simply mirrors the selected photos on your computer.  Whatever you have selected under the photos tab, will be on your iphone when you sync.  Whatever is not selected will not be there.
You should be importing pics taken with iphone regularly as you would with any digital camera.
Iphone will sync photos form only one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current photos.

  • When syncing a new photo album, photos from old albums appear in the new albums.

When I try to sync a new set of albums into my iPad 2 using iTunes, photos from previous albums randomly appear in the new album!
This occurs even when I delete the photo cache from the folder in question and have iTunes remake the picture cache.
I am running the latest iOS version 5.0.1, iTunes 10.5.3.3 and Windows 7.
(I've had this problem since previous versions of iTunes, but never bothered to post here for help previously)

My iPod Touch only syncs with my photo albums.  All the music is no longer on the device.

    - Reboot the computer
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • How to create New Photo Album?

The pictures I take with my camera and the ones I download online are all saved on Camera Roll.
How do I create a New Photo Album?

Photos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Import the photos with your computer and create an albums or albums for select photos and the same with any other photos on your computer followed by transferring the album or albums to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. This is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. You cannot create photo albums on the iPhone.

i sync'ed the photos to my computer. created my folders and put those pictures in them. then resync'ed my phone in itunes and chose the various folders to sync. but the "folders" did not sync back to my phone. everything is still in 'camera roll'.
i just want the pics in folders on my phone so i can find pictures easier!
why are there all those spaces under camera roll if it won't let u have more than one folder!? i'm so frustrated! do i have to purchase iphoto or something?

  • New photo albums not appearing in iTunes

I upgraded to IOS6. Now when I create a new photo album in iPhoto it does not appear in iTunes when I sync my iPad. I am now no longer able to add photo albums to my iPad. I do not want to use the cloud to manage my photos.  Anyone else encounter this problem?

Indeed, following the instructions from this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1614078&tstart=60
first led to iTunes finally clearing its cached information, but it still would not adop the new Contacts. They would only appear after following the instructions from the other thread mentioned above:

  • Creating new photo album

Can someone tell me how to create a new photo album in my new Ipod touch? I can't find any instructions on how to do so. Thanks in advance for your help.

    You cannot.
You need to create them on your computer, then sync them to your ipod.

  • How do I create new photo albums in iphone? why isn't it organized like in the iPad?

How do I create new photo albums in iphone? why isn't it organized like in the iPad?

You can't create new albums on the iPad either. The user interface looks different, but the functionality is essentially the same.
The route is to create new albums on the desktop, and then sync via iTunes.

  • Making new photo albums and slide shows

Is there a way to make new photo albums or slides shows on the iPad? I wish to organize photos and create slide shows while I am on the road, away from my sync computer.

The only way you could do this would be to first delete all photos in your Saved Photos album and then add the ones you want to use in your slide show one at a time (each photo you add is placed after the one previously added). Currently, by using the iPad alone with no third party apps, the only way to add photos to the Saved Photos album is either from Safari (touch and hold an image until the "Save image" dialogue comes up) or from email. On the iPhone originally, this was where photos you took with the camera went. Without the camera, it's left a bit stranded on the iPad.
The other "Photo Library" album is changeable only through an iTunes sync. If you put all the photos you want to use in your slideshows there, you could email them to yourself and then put them in the Saved Photos album one at a time. But that's awfully tedious and you can only have one Saved Photos album available at a time, so you'd have to do that with every slideshow you wanted. Not much use, I admit.
Until Apple improves the photo app on the iPad, it's not at all a versatile or very useful thing.

  • Creating new photo album on the iPhone.

How do i add a new photo album on my phone?

    Mac or Windows PC?
If a Mac, are you using iPhoto for photo storage and management, or are you manually managing photo storage on your computer?
If a Windows PC, do you manually manage photo storage on your computer or are you using an application for this?
Creating photo albums for photos is done on your computer and transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

  • Create new photo album on ipad2

Is there a way to add new photo albums using the ipad2?

You can use the photo application on your computer to create albums and then select those albums to sync.
If you sync your photos by dragging the images you want into a folder on your computer, the pictures will appear in separate photo albums on your device if you create folders inside the main folder and drag images into the new folders.

  • Adding new photo albums without deleting the old ones

I want to add some new photo albums from "My pictures" but Itunes is telling me that if I do this, it will erase my old pictures. Does anyone know how to get around this?

If the folders you are syncing from are all directly below "My Pictures" then you can sync from more than one by choosing the option of syncing from selected folders. You can't just change from one single folder to the other without erasing the first lot. For example you may choose to sync from My Pictures and inside My Pictures you have folders for different subjects. You can then choose which of those subject folders you want to update to the iPod or you might want to make a folder in there especially for iPod photos. You can drag these folders into an order of your choice inside the selection box. Just note that the folders can only be one level down from the main folder you choose to sync from, they can't be deeper down inside another.
Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder and sub folders on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Inside this folder create as many other folders as you want (or drag and drop existing ones from other locations on your hard drive)
3 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the appropriate folders you just created. (not necessary if you are using pre-existing folders already containing photos)
4 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
5 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
6 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
7 Choose the radio button "Selected folders"
8 Tick the folders you want to go on the iPod and click Apply
When you go to Photos on your iPod you'll see each of the folders you have chosen in the menu and you can choose whichever one you want to view.

  • Supuid Question: How do you make a new Photo Album on iPhone 3g?

How do you make a new Photo Album on iPhone 3g?
When I press photos, it just goes to a screen with Camera Roll and no other buttons to press.
I have read one article that states to click the "Add" button, but I don't see an Add button or a + button.
    Thanks in advance...

    Thanks for the response.
So, is there no quick way to put the Camera Roll pictures into an album?
It seems I have to click on those, send to Mobile Me, then download to my computer and put in the folders I am syncing.
    Not every intuitive at all.
    Thanks again.

  • How do I create a new photo album on iPad2 with o.s. 6.1?

I have an iPad 2 with software version 6.1.  When I try to create a new photo album, no keyboard appears when the "Enter a name for this album" box comes up.  What am I doing wrong? How do I enter the name of the new album?

I just retried adding a new photo album, and my problem seems to have fixed itself.  If I have any future trouble with the keyboard not appearing, I'll try the tapping trick.  Thanks, Tgara!
