Syncing all music on my library to my iPad

I am unable to sync my entire music library on iTunes to my iPad even though there is sufficient space, and the settings are set up to sync everything. Can anyone assist?

I´ve tried every possible solution listed, those that have worked for others...nothing has worked. My library has about 2777 songs of which at first only 1370 loaded. After syncing w/o music, which deleted all music from my iPhone, I then selected Sync Music again and synced...well this time only 391 songs were added!!! It skipped the other 1400 I already had in! I´ve come to notice that these 391 songs are the ones purchased directly on the iTunes Store, but previously I had ALL my CD´s ripped and loaded to my iPhone.
I don´t know if this has something to do with the new iTunes version, but please, please, someone give me some light! I don´t want to go and convert all 2400 songs from MP3 to AAC..!! It´s not practical!
Thanks in advance for your comments.

  • IPod Classic doesn't sync all music in my library

My iPod Classic doesn't sync all my music.  When I view my music files, the files that do not sync re not bold like the ones that sync correctly.  All files play on my computer.

The iPod can only Sync with one Library.
Your best option would be to add all the songs to one Library and then Sync with that.

While you're correct in that Windows media won't sync to the iPhone (or any i-device), the OP states that all the music is in iTunes.  If its in iTunes, it would no longer be in Windows media format since it would have been transcoded to whatever the user sets as their import preference (AAC, mp3, etc.), and once that is done then the media should be able to sync to the iPhone just fine.
To Steph, do the missing songs play OK in iTunes? If not then they could be corrupted in some way.  If they play fine in iTunes but don't sync, are they unchecked in iTunes? They won't sync to your iPhone if it is set to ignore unchecked items.  Finally, if these are iTunes purchases, are they protected format? (i.e. m4p files)  If so, is your computer authorized to play them? (you'd know if you try to play them in iTunes, it would prompt you for the account password if not authorized)

  • All music in my library are missing after sync.

All music in my library are missing after synch, but it seems that its still in the phone cause I checked memory usage and it doesn't add up. And when I connect it to itunes and checked the memory usage bar in the bottom,  it seems that my music was categorized in "Others". I'm using iPhone 5s with the latest OS.

This has just happened to me, I've had songs in Music on my phone for years and suddenly, and randomly, they're greyed out and unplayable. This applies to some playlists and not others, to songs I've played on my phone even in the last week.
Damned infuriating and I can't yet find a resolution - Apple, what have you done this time!

  • IPod won't sync all music to iTunes

I recently got a new Macbook Pro and needed to transfer over all of my music on iTunes from my old laptop. My iPod Touch has enough space to hold my entire iTunes library, so I synced it with the iTunes library on my old laptop, got everything onto it, and then synced it with my new Macbook Pro.
However, the iTunes on my Mac refuses to sync any music from my iPod that was not purchased from the iTunes store at some point. 75% of my music is from CDs and so 75% of my music will not transfer from my iPod to my iTunes.
I can't adjust anything on the tab on iTunes for syncing all music/entire library because I get a message saying if I do this all of the content on my iPod will be erased and replaced with what is currently in iTunes, which is barely anything.
All I've ever done is fought with iTunes every single time I try to do anything significant with it and I'm sick of it. I don't understand why iTunes won't simply take all the music from my iPod and put it into the library. That's all I want.
Please, can anyone help me with this?

OK after a long night I think I have answered my own question. I hope this helps others who may have experienced the same level of frustration I have.
If your music won't download from iTunes to your iPod because it is not 'authorised' see if this helps.
Go to the album or song that is not 'authorising'. Select it and push play. It should ask you for authorisation or a username and password. Put in your username and password, it should then go to iTunes store and it will now be authorised.
Be careful not to make the same mistake that I made and have multiple iTunes Store accounts. Mainly because I think it creates these problems on transfer of your library and secondly because you may not remember the password. If you forget the password, then simply get iTunes store to resend it. The only problem may be if your email account no longer exists. Mine does, so not sure what happens if it doesn't.
This in itself may not fix the problem either. I noticed on the left hand side of the music library, met to the song names etc, the '!" symbol in the column. This will also prevent it copying to your iPod. I am not technical, but it seems it lost the file path in transfer. Just double click the song and it will ask you if you want to find the path. Click yes and then search through iTunes library until you find the song. Double click the song and bingo you should now be able to transfer the music.
It took less time for me to finish by Business Degree, but its the only way I found to get around all the authorisation problems
    Hope this helps

  • New ipod won't sync purchased music from itunes library

I just purchased a new ipod and when I try to sync my library it will not transfer any purchased songs that are in my library.  All the songs are checked and I selected sync all music.

Do these purchased tracks play in iTunes?  What other options do you have enabled from under the Summary and Music tabs for your iPod?  Are you saying non-iTunes purchased tracks sync okay?

  • HT1296 how do i sync all music with ipod on new computer

How do i sync all music with ipod on new computer

Connect the iPod and sync with iTunes the same way that you sync any iDevice with iTunes. If you are trying to transfer the music on the iPod into iTunes on the computer - connect the iPod to your computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPod name under the devices headings and select transfer purchases. That will transfer the purchase songs on your iPod into your iTunes library.
If you provide a few more details of what you actually are trying to do, it would be a little easier to provide you with the help that you seek.

  • Think I erased my ipod by clicking "sync all music & video" now more probs

Hi all...I clicked on "sync all music & video" within itunes & I watched in horror as my 1000+ songs were erased as well as video. Is there a way to retrieve my music & video from my pc? I checked the itunes folder & all that was there were podcasts. Didn't see anything in recycle bin.
I have accepted that I may be SOL so I uninstalled itunes but now I can't add music from my pc to ipod.
In itunes I see my ipod listed but I cannot create a new playlist under my ipod name the way I use to. I use to be able to create playlist under my ipod then drag folder of mp3's to that playlist. But now I can't. I did manage to add a cd to my ipod but after sync...the tracks are greyed out & not selectable. I cannot manually select them & do anything like delete etc. What have I done? I don't even see the restore option in itunes to restore back to factory settings & I did the itunes upgrade.
    Thanks Folks!

Scratch the part about not being able to restore to factory settings. I just did that. I'm about to see if this helped as far as adding music.

  • How can I delete ALL music and SOME video from my iPad?

I have a MB Pro running Yosemite (10.10.1), and and a 2nd Generation iPad Air (iOS4.3.3.)
I'd like to keep some, but not all of my video library on my iPad, and delete all the music from it.  (I have my music on my iPhone 6+, and don't need it on the iPad, as I carry them both with me all the time.)
Thanks in advance for your help.

Use the sync feature and settings in iTunes. you'll be able to do it from within iTunes.

So I have found a common denominator to this phenomenon. After having the same problem, I started to recopy my playlist of 500+ songs in groups of 10-20, 30+, 75+, and then over a 100+. Any music I have purchased from iTunes won't copy, but everything else did. Unsure if I made a playlist called "Purchased" at some point or this is an iTunes default, I also noticed it had some of the songs contained in my other playlist and was showing on my iPhone. Regardless of what I did such as dragging music from that playlist to the other and clearing songs from that playlist, I removed it altogether from the iPhone itself vs. doing through iTunes. After that, music copied fine to my playlist.
So, my theory is that iTunes is getting tripped up on purchased tracks already showing on the phone and all songs are showing grayed out/dotted circle because iTunes can't resolve the conflict with purchased tracks.
Hope this makes sense and is helpful.

It's a good idea to backup your Mac Address Book application and iCal Calendars application from each application. This way you can go back and pull out items if you lose something. I do this everyday.

  • My old computer crashed and I imported my music to my new computer. Now iTunes won't sync the music in my library to my iPhone. How can I fix this?

I hadn't synced my iPhone yet to my new computer after buying some more music. When I went to sync, with that computer, it asked me to delete all the old music that had been from the old computer. I had been through this before with no problems so I had my phone's music wiped and was ready to resync my entire library. Everytime I try, though, it only completes the back up step, and the determing which songs to sync step, but it won't actually sync the music and just says it's done.

Your iPad is married to its now deceased old computer. This is the reason for the necessity of a backup for your computer, which your iPad is not.
Your iTunes Store and App Store purchases will not be lost. Just don't "erase and sync" when you sync your iPad to your new Mac:
If you want to move the iTunes Store purchases on your device to the new computer, choose "Transfer Purchases." The new computer must be set up with your iTunes Store account and authorized to play your iTunes Store purchases in order to transfer your iTunes Store purchases.
