Syncing app while connected to itunes

My touch will not allow me to sync my apps nor will it let me check the box to sync my apps when connected to itunes. The screen is faded and will not let me choose anything! Please help!

iTunes was restricted so I had to go and make it unrestricted. That still didn't work until I logged into iTunes through the touch which required me to enter the security code on my credit card. I powered down and back up then connected to iTunes. This worked!

I was able to do a total reset to factory settings which fixed everything.Not sure what caused the first problem.

Yes. You can download the updates to the apps in iTunes and then sync them to the iPad while the iPad is connected to your computer. I did that last night because I had so many large app updates to do - apps that were 250MB up to 650MB in size - and it just made more sense to me to do it that way.

Connect & select iPhone in iTunes Sudebar (iTunes > View > Show Sidebar), in Music tap (right pane top), select Sync Music and the music you want on iPhone then click Apply button (bottom right).

Cured the problem! Reinstalled an earlier version of itunes from oldapps.com (version 10) now everything works as it should. I would suggest that if you are experiencing these problems that you do the same. I must say that it is a brave business decision on behalf of apple to effectively lock out all windows 7 users from their products and sales channels and I can only wish them luck in this very shortsighted policy.

When you uninstalled iTunes, did you uninstall it by using the article below or just uninstalled iTunes? The best practice is to remove not only iTunes, but also other associating software in the order that the first article give. YOu'll have to restore, nothing else you can do.
If you have an older backup you can restore to that.

Syncing apps after changing computer/itunes library

I used to sync my iphone apps with computer A.
Then I reformatted computer A, and decided to stop syncing apps anyways on that machine (a laptop with very little disk space).
Computer B, which has always synced the iphone music, my desktop, is now running itunes 9 and usually I haven't cared to sync apps (why bother!), but itunes 9's app management screen needs me to sync!
When I select the sync box I'm told it will delete and replace all apps on the iphone with those in B's library. But B doesn't have anything! (I deleted anything it did have, again to save space).
How do I make the iphone start syncing apps with my B desktop, by effectively starting by copying-all-apps-from-iphone-first?

Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing. Transfer your purchases as pointed out by Allan. When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards. Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.
