• Sync folders between Apple devices

Hello, I am a new user of Mac.
How can I sync folders between my apple devices such as MBP, iMac and Ipad. (time capsule available)
I would like to sync the folders on my home wifi. (not on cloud)
Whenever i use the MBP out of my home for work and amend a document. When I am home I would like files /folder to sync automatically between my MBP and iMac.
How should I go about it. Thank you in advance.

Microsoft publish the settings needed for Hotmail Imap, they work, use them.
They are:
For incoming connections:
Server address: "imap-mail.outlook.com"
Server port: "993"
Encryption type: "SSL"
For outgoing connections:
Server address: "smtp-mail.outlook.com"
Server port: "587"
Encryption type: "TLS" ("SSL" can be used if TLS is not an option)

• How do I enable my new macbook pro to become my default computer to sync all my apple devices-iphone 4, touch, ipod classic, nano? My five year old dell's hard drive has only 2GB of space available and is currently the computer I use for all these device

I have a new macbook pro that I wish to sync all my apple devices--ipodclassic,nano,iphone4,touch-- that are currently synced with a 5 year old windows based computer with only 2GB of available hard drive space. How can I do this and maintain all of my info-contacts, songs, photos etc without losing this data< Thanks

you can either update to lion/ios5 and use the cloud to sync or you can plug in said devices and sync them with your MBP instead of your dell via a tethered usb connection.
also, sign into your itunes store account on your mac.

• How do you tweet between apple devices

My daughter says there's a separate tweet thing which lets you tweet free between apple devices.
I can't find it

It sound like you are refering to "iMessage," which is a iOS exclusive messaging service: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3529

• Deactivate Sync between apple devices

Hello,
I have several Apple devices and I'd like to deactivate the automatic sync between them, eg: apps downloaded to my iPad will also appear in my iPhone; internet pages visited and opened in my iPad and MacBook Pro will also be available in my iPhone. Or, the iMessages received in my iPhone will be available in my iPad.
How can I deactivate this?
Thank you,
NeytiriLuna

On each device go to Settings/iTunes & App Store and turn off automatic downloads.
You can handle similar settings in Settings for each of the other apps.

• Syncing apps between devices

I'm having difficulty syncing some apps between devices so that data is saved. I recently purchased an iPad mini for my daughter and want her to have some of her existing game apps to play, and then delete from my iPad. Anyone encountered the same, or any solutions?

I'm having the same problem with apps not syncing between my iPhone 5s and iPad Air. I made sure under settings > iTunes & Apps Store that automatic Download is on and selected for Music, Apps, Books, and Updates. Have you gotten a resolution to that issue?

• How NOT to cross-sync apps between devices?

Hey gang-
I backup all my iOS devices to iTunes on my desktop iMac. I like everything about that except the fact that if I update an app, for example, on my iPad, iTunes then updates that app on my iPhone on the next Sync. For lots of reason, I don't want to do that- for example some updates I like on iPhone and not on iPad, or vice versa.
Sooooo, I'm looking in iTunes and trying to figure out which setting will prevent this happening. I'm looking at the Apps tab with my iPad connected, and I'm trying to figure out do I uncheck the very top choice "Sync Apps", or the one at the bottom of the list "Automatically Sync New Apps" And what is the difference? I get a rather scary Alert when I turn off "Sync Apps" that makes me think iTunes might not Backup my apps if I do that.
Thanks gang!
Dave

Open itunes, connect a device, go to the apps tab, select only the apps you want on that device, select sync app or they will all be erased. If you do not want every new app that you download to be added to your device, tehn deselect that option.
Each device will only sync what you select

• No deauthorise button available in iTunes account to sync apps between phone and iTunes

Message reads: "One computer is authorised to play content purchased with this Apple ID" However there is no button to deauthorise one or all computers. As a result i cannot sync apps back to iTunes from iPhone. If i do sync it will wipe all existing apps from the phone as the new version of itunes will not allow me to sync more than 5 computers. I have only ever had iTunes on one laptop previously so i don't know why i am receiving this. Is there a possible solution anyone can please recommend?

Yes!
Luckily, if you be very careful and pay attention to what you have selected in itunes, you can separate these things
Basically, in iTunes, there are tabs at the top for Summary, info, apps, etc..
These tabs control PER DEVICE what syncs between itunes and the device.
Therefore, you can plug iPhone 4S #1 in, and select to sync contacts with address book, then do so. Then plug iPhone 4S #2 in, and not choose to sync with address book. iTunes will keep these settings separate. However, in that situation for music and apps, you would check to sync both on both, in order to get all music and apps on each.
The only thing to watch out for, each computer 'user' has only one set of address book and ical, meaning that if you want to sync both phones to the computer, but dont want to mix contacts, only one phone will be able to sync contacts and/or calendars. Basically, each category in the Info tab will only hold one device's information, so you CAN do contacts with iPhone 4S #1, and calendars with #2.

• ICal sync on different Apple devices

After converting all my calendar entries since 1999 from my heavely used Palm to iCal, I have a rather full iCal system. Objective is to use my iCal calender from different Apple devices, including an iPhone 3GS, iPad, 2x Apple notebooks (Pro and Air), iMac, Mac Pro (all Mac's running under Lion 10.7.1).
Although initially OK, I experience continuous sync problems with iCal. Funny enough the different Mac systems react differently. One (the MacNotebook Pro) seems to accept most changes from other systems, the others signal "server access problems" with iCal, although they all work on the same network and only one iCal instance is active on one specific Mac. A simular problem happens on the iPhone, however without warning messages.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem area?

Welcome to the Apple community.
It's not clear why you need to have different Icloud accounts on each device, however this may not be relevant.
Music, TV shows, movies, books and apps are purchased through the iTunes store, your iTunes account is not the same as your iCloud account. So it may well be that you can maintain different Icloud accounts on your devices and still use the same iTunes account on all of them.
It may be the case, that if you tell us a little bit more about what you are trying to achieve, we may be able to help you further.

2. if you have multiple devices syncing from the same computer, make sure you have the correct on indicated in the leftside navigation pane of I tunes.

• Account Lockout issue between Apple devices and Exchange 2003

I have been having an ongoing issue for a couple of months with a few different users Apple devices locking out their accounts in AD when they try to authenticate to ActiveSync. This doesn't happen every time they authenticate, it seems to be random,
while the rest of the time they have access to their email. It might occasionally happen with an Android, but not on a repetitive basis like this.
Primarily this has been four different iPads, running different versions of iOS, and an iPhone running the latest release of iOS 7. Other iPhones and iPads function without having the problem, including iPhones on iOS 7.
The user accounts in question are set to never have their passwords expire, but again, they aren't the only users that are set like this, and those other users, even with Apple devices are not having the same problem.
I used NetWrix to trace out the source machine, which is my Exchange 2003 server and times, and I've checked the W3SVC1 log file, and come up with the following as an example with identification details masked:
<internal IP>, <Domain\Username>, 4/30/2014, 8:10:04, W3SVC1, <ServerName>, <internal IP>, 15, 329, 3367926, 200, 0, GET, /exchange-oma/<[email protected]>/NON_IPM_SUBTREE/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/iPad/ApplV50462*****/eb53cd5d5b9fcf40****************-20ef44,
As I was typing this, the owner of the iPad from the log file above came by my desk, so I asked a couple more questions. He's never had another iPad, it's a gen 1, and he's never updated the iOS on it. I know one of the other iPads in question
has the most up to date iOS, and the other one is brand new, replacing one that was broken, but the owner of that one had the same issue on a 3 year old iOS.
There is nothing special about the user accounts, no special privileges or restrictions.
Has anyone encountered this before? Exchange 2003, Server 2003 in a 2008 domain. Promotion to the 2008 domain was 2 years ago.

Hi Brian,
I am so sorry for the delay.
Do you have any progress by now?
Since there are lots of devices which use user accounts to log on, failed logon attempts on these devices could be the cause for account lockout.
If this issue persists, I suggest you refer to these troubleshooting articles below:
