Syncing Blackberry Tour with iCal?!

I've tried syncing my phone and over. My contacts are coming through in my address book, but my calendar events aren't syncing with iCal. Any suggestions?

I do not believe you can recover the erased records from the Blackberry.
Two points to prevent recurrence. You can have desktop manager set to backup
device automatically when they connect. The option is under device options pictured
in the KB below.
See KB22208 you should be getting a warning message that major amount of
data is to be deleted. If you are set correctly this gives you the option to cancel
the synchronization.

I can only suggest you now need to somehow link your mobile to sync with the new calendar 'On my Mac'.
I have a work Blackberry whose calendar I sync with an iCal calendar 'On my Mac' using a usb lead and the Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac. This free piece of software from Blackberry, automatically starts up as soon as I connect the usb to the iMac and it then prompts me to select which calendar 'On the iMac', which is writable, that I want my Blackberry to sync to.

Trying to sync outlook 2011 with iCal but iCal only sees Entourage calendar. I have selected sync in outlook 2011 and it is correctly syncing with address book. I have installed sp1. Do i need to delete entourage cal from iCal?

For all of the wonderful and awesome things Apple has done and is doing (including winning me over from the Microsoft camp) there are certain things they absolutely are failing at. Syncing is one of them. If you want/need Exchange tasks synced with iOS 5 Reminders, USE OFFICE 2011 on Mac OSX Lion instead of iCal, Mail and Address Book and then LIFE IS WONDERFUL!!! Works beautifully... Exchange notes work great on Mac in Office 2011 but doesn't yet sync to iPhone notes (hopefully that will eventually get there too). Pass this around, I spent hours to figure this out...

Sync BlackBerry 8800 with MacBook

I'm using MacBook running 10.4.9. Also, I'm using BlackBerry 8800.
Now, I have tried both PocketMac & Missing Sync for BlackBerry, but both didn't work. I managed to sync with iCal, but not Address Book. Can anyone help me?
I want to know if the USB cable matters? 'Cos I left the original BlackBerry USB cable at office for synchronizing with my desktop PC. So I use the USB cable for my Motorola mobile phone, which is also USB to mini-USB. Could this be the cause for not being able to sync? But if that is the case, why I can sync iCal? So, I suppose this was not the cause.
Now, if that's not the cause, can anyone please help? Greatly appreciate.

I believe that it's actually more accurate to say that the 'decision' was one by RIM rather than Mark/Space. Here's what the developer of the Missing Sync for Blackberry has to say about using BES wireless synchronization:
"…you can sync the BlackBerry to the BES, but in order to sync the BlackBerry to the Mac using Missing Sync you will need to turn off the BES sync and then sync, when you are done syncing with your Mac you can turn the BES sync back on on the device.
Steps for turning off BES wireless sync:
1. Launch Address Book on the BlackBerry.
2. Access the Menu (press wheel or menu button depending on device).
3. Choose Options.
4. If BES is enabled, there will be a Wireless Synchronization menu item.
5. Make sure the Wireless Synchronization option is set to NO.
6. Repeat for each of the following that have Wireless Sync enabled: Calendar, Tasks, and MemoPad.
For the sync with Missing Sync to work the wireless sync must be turned off at the application level.
Please note, if you are trying to sync to both the Mac and the BES then you need to click on the 'Preference' option in Missing Sync and check the option: 'Allow syncing to multiple computers'. If you do not check that option then you will not be able to keep everything in sync when changes are made on the device and then synced to the BES before syncing to the Mac."

I have changed the option to two-way sync and still does not work. The events from my default BB Calender sync, but I have many calenders such as work, school, personal, is there a way to sync all of these?

Syncing multiple iPhones with iCal and contacts

My roommate just bought an iPhone and synced it for the first time with my iMac, but now he has all of my contacts and calendar appointments and none of his own. Do iCal and Contacts support multiple profiles? Is it possible for him to store his contacts on my iMac with iLife and sync without interfering with my contacts?
Sorry if this is a noobish question or if it's already been answered. I looked and couldn't readily find any topics that matched this question.

Your roommate will need to have all of his contacts in a specific group, as well as all of his calendar appointments in a specific calendar.
In iTunes, go to the info tab on the iPhone in iTunes and have it only sync that calendar/group.

Problem when sync repeat events with ical

Hi all,
I've a strange problem that happen when I sync repeated events on my mac versus iphone...
With iCal I can see correctly an events repeated for example for two days... (using the option repeat every day with an end date). After syncing, on imac it will be correct but on iphone (3.1.2) the same event are repeated with one more day added, three instead of two:(
Any idea about that?

Sync outlook cal with ical/cloud

Hi Everyone
I have been searching for days to fix a problem with sync my outlook on my mac with ical and icloud with no luck
I have an imac, mac book pro and an iphone 5. I use outlook on my imac for new appointments and contacts. When I insert a new app in my outlook cal, it does not sync to the ical. But when I sync my iphone with itunes the new app will appear. There seems to be a problem with linking/sync information from my outlook to my imac cal.
Any advice??

BB10 Won't Sync via USB with iCal and Contact in Mac OS 10.8

I was able to transfer all of my data from my Torch to my new Z10 using Blackberry Link, but not it will not let me sync my contacts and iCal via USB cable. They "sync to device" tab is greyed out on the menu bar.
In addtion, in spite of the fact that I've done several back-ups of my phone in Blackberry Link, when I plug my phone into my Mac, it indicates that it has never been backed up.
Suggestions?

If this is actually the case this is a major blunder. Everything else about the phone I absolutely LOVE!

Syncing ipod touch with ical (and no mobile me) deletes select appointments

Ok, I realize this thread has been active in many places. Whenever I sync my ipod touch, appointments that I created in it seem to auto delete. It never makes it to ical and disappears from the ipod touch. I've unchecked the sync box in itunes and reselected it and still it has the same problems. Not sure why this happens but I have missed appointments because it will auto-delete unbeknownst to me. Please help, I don't have mobile me and don't know why this is happening.

1) Make sure you login to iTunes with your MobileMe account.
2) Make sure you sync your Mac with the MobileMe System Preference Pane.
* Be sure to go to the Sync tab and select Bookmarks.
3) Sync your Mac.
4) Now in iTunes, goto the Info tab. It should state that Your Bookmarks are being synced with your iPod/iPhone using MobileMe.

Synced iPhone4 Calendar with iCal, No More Alerts On iPhone?

I recently synced all my iPhone4 calendar info. with iCal on my new iMac. Now, all the alerts and reminders I have set up pop up on my iCal on my computer, but not on my phone. I'd rather them on my phone because I'm not always at my computer. How can I fix this? Anyone? Thanks!

As a first step, try resetting the sync history on your Mac which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.
After selecting reset sync history, restart your Mac and try syncing again.

Can i sync my palm with ical when I already have been using palm desktop??

i started syncing my palm to palm desktop but is there a way to use ical instead of palm desktop and still sync it?? is it isync??? i tried it but a bluetooth message came up...confused??

The Palm Desktop will not interact directly with iCal or an iPod Touch—or, any other iPod—at all.
To transfer your contacts to the Address Book, export them as a vCard file from the Palm Desktop and double-click the file to import it into the Address Book. To transfer your events to iCal, export them as a vCal file and double-click the file to import it into iCal.
There is no way to transfer either tasks or memos from the Palm Desktop to iCal or any other Apple-provided application: only contact and event data can be exported into a form supported by the Address Book and iCal.
