Syncing Calendar invite/events issues

Some background....(follow with me as I have a bit to explain)
I am running Exchange 2007 and syncing email, contacts, calendar and most works fine. I am also using Outlook 2003 on my desktop.
I have discovered a bug with the Calendar though (and reported to Apple). If I accept an invite using the iPhone, then the meeting Organizer on the Outlook Scheduling tab is shown as me.
This is a bit strange and makes it confusing when viewing attendee availability. In Outlook, the appt. tab lists the real organizer, but the scheduling tab does not, and has my name listed instead.
So, due to this bug, I accept all appointments via Outlook now. The effect of this though, is the iPhone shows some appointments as tentative and some invites as not having been accepted yet. If I accept the invites on the iPhone, then the scheduling tab is messed up in Outlook.
Does anyone else have a way to force the iPhone to sync its calendar with Exchange? Or any way to avoid accepting invites on the iPhone?
I can reproduce these bugs at will, and they exist on set up as new, and restores on 2.1 and 2.2, maybe further back, but there were other calendar bugs further back, so no point in dwelling.
Thanks for any ideas, I suspect I am out of luck until the next release.

I anxiously wait to see if you get a response to this...I have been sumarily dismissed on this topic.
Yes, I am having the same issue and have pretty much tried everything I can think of and every suggestion I could find...anyone got a fix, I would like to use my device only (like I used to) but do need to go back more than a couple of weeks to research/remember.

  • How do I remove calendar invite events

When I receive an event invite or send an event invite to someone, I cannot delete it on my iOs device (iPad, iPhone).  This is why using iCloud on both devices.

I had the same issue.  If you sync your calendar to the cloud, login.  View and delete the calendar invites there.  Just did it and it worked for me.
    Good luck!

  • Exchange 2010 Calendar & invite time issue

I have started getting complaints from some users indicating that when they accept calendar invites, they sometimes are out of sync by an hour. Normally, when you look at two users calendars, you are looking at it in your timezone, and as such, any meetings
or invites that you have in common would appear on the same line.
What we see is in some cases, they are an hour apart, and it does not seem to matter if both people are in the same time zone or a different one. In one case, one user is in MST and the other is in EST, in another, both are in MST, and when I look at two
users calendars that are showing hte issue, I can see it and I'm in CST. I have also looked at the calendars in OWA, so it does appear to be something server-side.
It also does not appear to be all the time. Sometimes they will go through properly, and other times, they come through wrong. Sometimes when the organizer updates the meeting and sends the update, it fixes it on the other person's calendar.
I've looked around and there oare other similar issues, one of which indicated installing KB2863058 and rebooting the server fixed it, but that KB is applied on my server (Was applied in September), and while it may or may not be installed on the clients
that are affected, near as I can tell, that KB has no effect on US time zones, so that *shouldn't* be causing this.
I've also read about multiple copies of CDO.DLL causing it, but the only copy was found in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\ExchangeMapi' (I have BES 5 on the server, although technically, I could remove it if not needed as no one is using Blackberries any more).
There are a bunch of 'cdosys.dll' and 'cdosys.dll.mui. All of the 'cdosys.dll' have a modified date of 6/6/2012 with two sized: one for the 64-bit version and one for the 32-bit version.
Has anyone seen this kind of issue before? Any thoughts to a cause and resolution?

    Hi,
Do all the calendar invites show incorrect times or some specific ones?
    As what Ed says, please
check the time, time zone and daylight savings time
    settings
    respectively in Windows
Control Panel’s Date and Time applet of all computers, OWA settings,
Outlook Options. Make sure that they are the same values. Also check whether the invites are sent by the same organizer.
If all configurations are proper, please create a new calendar invites respectively in OWA and Outlook. Then send it to the problematic users to check whether the issue persists.

  • Syncing calendars ( Past events being deleted)

When i sync my iphone it deletes the previous appointments on that day. i end up with a blank calendar on my computer but the entries remain on the Iphone. Any suggestions?

Found the issue for me. The events are not deleted, but filtered in the standard calendar view. The iPhone shows everything as it should. Outlook 2003 has all the events to as seen when going to categories view.
It seems that once events pass on the iPhone and then a sync via iTunes to Outlook 2003 the "All Day Event" field is removed from the calendar entry.
Creating another Day/Week/Month View in outlook 2003 that has a filter to only include calendar entries where the "All Day Event" field "does not exist" will allow viewing the "hidden" past events.
Hopefully this will be fixed VERY SOON.

  • IPad sync with Outlook events issue

When I accept invitations on my Macbook and turn on my new iPad they are still showing up as pending invitations even though I accepted them on my Macbook.
Another funny thing if I accept them on the iPad they will reappear as new requests in a matter of hours.

    Hi and welcome JASPERIMAGE ...
can I take all the contacts off my Ipad back into Outlook.
You may be able to do that followg the instructions here.
iPad: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
I don't think you need to have Outlook open in order to do that.

  • Outlook Calendar invitation tracking issue

    Hello,
I have a user who created a meeting.  The recepients have started to respond and some are accepted and rejected.  The weird part is that when the user tries to track the responses, only the rejected ones appear.  The accepted
ones do not show up in teh tracking.  In the inbox you can see the accepted messages.  It seems that they are not being processed, but the rejected ones are.
    Anybody has any clue?
    Thank you,
    Demetri

    Hi,
What’s the version of your Outlook?
Can you see all the attenders in the attenders list, such as the screenshot below? What’s the status for the attenders who accepted the meeting request in the
    table?
At this time, I suggest trying the following steps to see if the problem can be resolved.
    Step 1:
    =============
    Run
Outlook /cleansniff command to open Outlook.
Note: This command overrides the programmatic lockout that determines which of your computers (when running Outlook simultaneously) processes meeting items. The lockout
process helps prevent duplicate reminder messages. This switch clears the lockout on the computer it is used, enabling Outlook to process meeting items.
If the issue persists, please edit the registry key to change the idle time for Sniffer.
    Step 2:
    =================
    1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
    2. Locate the following key in the registry key:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\xxx\Outlook\Options\General]
Note: xxx is the version number of Outlook. If you are using Outlook 2010, it is 14.0. If you are using Outlook 2007, it is 12.0. If it is
    Outlook 2003, it is 11.0.
    3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click
DWORD Value. Type the name of the new value as
    AutoProcessIdleTime, and then press ENTER.
    4. On the Edit menu, click
Modify, and then type the following information:
    Value data: 10000
    Base: Decimal
    5. Click
    OK. Quit Registry Editor.
    6. Restart Outlook and check the issue again. You can create a new meeting request and check the results again.
    Hope it helps.
    Best Regards,

This has worked fine with MobileMe with only a couple of minor glitches in the past.
Any experience doing this the "right" way?

  • My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can i fix this without turning off iCloud?

My Outlook/iCloud calendar invites to others appear to work on my end and sync with my PC and mobile, but when other people "accept" the invite, it will not populate/add in to their calendar. How can I fix this without turning off iCloud?
I am at a new office that uses Outlook (not Outlook Exchange) which does not sync with my mobile... I just got iCloud set up on my PC to sync my contacts, calendar, reminders, etc... The sync worked (not without flaws, but the other issues seem solvable... I think), so that i can now see all my appointments on both my phone and on my PC. The problem I am having is that iCloud moved all of my calendar items from Outlook into iCloud calendar and now when I send out meeting/calendar invites the recipients may accept them, but the meeting does not get added to their calendar. This is a huge problem and may mean that i need to turn off iCloud.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I am replying to my own post here as I seem to have fixed the problem.
I do have some calendars that are shared. Some of those are shared with users who have time zone support turned on. So i activated time zone support on my iphone, then deleted my icloud subscription. I then signed in to icloud again and voila... problem solved.
It is a weird one as the other calendar views were always fine and when you opened an event that appeared in the wrong day (on list view), the correct date of the event was shown in the information...
one more bug in a complicated system I guess

  • Calendar invites issues with Notes invites

I am having issues with invites from Lotus Notes.  The invites are coming marked as an hour later than they should be.  It would seem that the timezone (or perhaps the daylight savings time) settings are wrong and iCal is creating them an hour later than they should be.  We have tried specifying the timezone in the Notes account, but it still comes in wrong.
Invites from other people (e.g. Outlook) are coming in correctly.
Has anyone seen this before and do you know how I can resolve this?
    Thank you.

I finally resolved this... by changing everything over to a new laptop.  I had been running iTunes on a Vista desktop, and moved Outlook and iTunes to a Win7 x64 laptop.  Once I got everything installed, I copied the iTunes folder to the laptop, transferred the purchases, backed up the iPhone and iPad to the new iTunes, and then synched them.  Set iTunes to sync Calendar, Contacts, Mail, and Notes on both, and resynched.  Once this was done and I verified that everything was intact on both the iPhone and the iPad, I tried entering a calendar event on the phone and then did another sync.  The event showed up in Outlook.  I then deleted the event from Outlook and did another sync and the event was gone from the iPhone.  Did the same with the iPad and got the same results.  So this apparently was something related to the desktop or Vista; I never got it resolved on the desktop.  Not sure what it could be, but now that it's resolved I'm going to leave it alone.  Maybe after I upgrade to an iPhone 5, I might try messing with the iPhone 4s on the Vista desktop.  If I do, and happen to get it resolved, I'll surely post something regarding that.

  • Issues with calendar invites from Outlook address that come to my gmail on iPhone

I have been trying for HOURS to get to the bottom of this iPhone calendar invite problem I'm having. I'll try to summarize.
I LOVE iCal and I want to continue using it. Though I have a personal mid-2010 Macbook Pro, I don't use it too much (my company functions solely on Windows). I almost exclusively use my iPhone 4S for calendar purposes. Yes, my calendar is synced up to iCloud. I have a gmail account as my primary apple ID and my mail account on the iPhone is synced with gmail. I've been very annoyed lately as I have been receiving a lot of calendar invites from a friend who has Outlook, and I cannot accept or decline when I received her invite. The events are added to my calendar, grayed out.
After much research, I realized that I had to setup my gmail account as an Exchange account on my iPhone, which I did. I then sent myself a test invite from Lotus Notes, and low and behold, I can now accept and decline!
..but I am VERY particular about my calendar organization, and I want to be able to choose which calendar the event is added to; however, it is added to my exchange (gmail) calendar, I guess because it was received on the gmail server. I want my calendar invites to be received on my ios device calendar! I don't know if having people use my .me account would help, but I don't want to tell everyone to change the email address to which they send me notifications, because I want to continue to receive mail at my gmail account (like the many calendars, I have many folders there and have everything set up the way I want it).
I get emails concerning work, events, tennis matches, etc via my gmail account, and I want to sort them to the correct calendar when the invite comes to my gmail while STILL maintaining the functionality to accept and decline invites.
    Is this a crazy question?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

    Solutions?

No, I never really found an easy solution.  I believe it is an issue with some corruption in the iTunes database on the specific device.  In my case, both my iPad and iPhone now show duplicate stream songs if viewed through iTunes on my Mac, but they show different songs.  A couple years ago I had a similar issue on my iPhone, and Apple support suggested I back up the phone, completely reset it, and then restore it from the backup.  It did work, so I imagine it would probably work for my current issues with the iPhone and iPad.  But resetting and restoring an iPad or iPhone always makes me a little nervous that something will get lost.  When I did reset/restore the iPhone, I do have to say, the restore process was 100% perfect and I did not lose any data at all even though Apple support said I might.  If you try to go that route, I would suggest backing the device up both to a computer through iTunes, and to the iCloud so that you have a double backup.
None of this really resolves the issue with how the iTunes databases are becoming corrupted on the apple devices though, so it is very likely to happen again until they fix it.  I have been unable to determine if there were any specific actions or conditions which caused the corruption to happen in the first place.
Might be worth another call to Apple support, or dropping in the local Apple store if you have one near by.

  • Calendar invites: not supported calendar message; webcal events not showing

I just upgraded from OS X Server 10.7.5 to Yosemite and server 4.0.x (latest as of 24-Jan-2015).
A couple of odd things have arisen regarding the calendar:
    1.  Invites sent from users' calendars to out-of-network calendars (both Exchange-supported outlook on windows and Calendar on Apple) now include a non-supported.ics file instead of a supported file that used to provide the ability to accept or decline. The non-supported ics file can be opened and the "accept" and "decline" options are available, but Calendar Server does not ever register the reply.
    2. Invites sent to from users' calendars to other internal users seem to take much longer than they should to be sent, and replies take a very long time to register on the original sender's calendar.
    3. Webcal either connects with an empty calendar - no events at all (on Firefox) - or with a persistent "getting events from server" message (on Safari).
I am considering exporting my calendar data (it's a family server and I have access to all the calendars on client machines) and my contact data (though I am not sure how to preserve the reminder data), and starting over with a fresh install of calendar server knowing I can add all the data back when the updated, clean install is complete. However, I'm not sure what steps to take if I wanted to do a "clean" install of just calendar server with no data and no pre-existing settings.
For what it is worth, some of the data in my current calendar server emanates from the unsupported version of calendar server, starting back in around 2006. I wonder if there isn't potentially some bad data in there, but I doubt that's what is causing these issues - I'd expect some events to look odd, but not for the server performance to degrade.
    Any suggestions?
    TIA

In other news - the calendar server has now stopped working all together. It seems to be on, as per the server app, and it seems to allow some connection to it, but it is failing to work - no updating/creation/deletion/etc. of events on clients. But I can delete and re-add a calendar account to a client.
I am not sure how best to do this, but here are the logs from a recent stopping and re-starting of the calendar service. Any ideas?

  • Iphone Calendar Invites sync with OWA but not Entourage

I have a MacBook Air (OS X 10.5.7), iPhone 3g (running os 3.0) and Office 2008. I have Entourage set up and running for email and contacts but it only syncs one-way for calendar - from Entourage/Exchange to iPhone, but not the reverse.
The iPhone syncs with changes made in Entourage/Exchange calendar.
If I create a calendar event on my iPhone, it will show up in OWA, but not in the Entourage calendar. If I accept a calendar invite on the iPhone, it shows up in OWA, but not in Entourage.
If I create an appointment or calendar event in Entourage, it shows up in OWA and the iPhone.
If I create an invite for an event on the iPhone, other participants receive the invite.
The only thing that doesn't work is creating or accepting a calendar event on the iPhone or OWA and seeing it in Entourage. Help! Very frustrated.

On your iPhone, go to settings and then mail, contacts, calendar, etc. Change your default calendar to Entourage.

  • Why do Caldav calendars sending event invites from the wrong email address.

I have iCloud enabled calendars alongside a caldav based account (Mac OS X Server) within iCal.  When I create events with attendees attached, from the caldav based account, the invites are always sent from the iCloud based email account (a former .mac email address).  This does not seem consistent with the way calendar invites used to work prior to the Mobile Me to iCloud changeover.  It is a privacy issue, that attendess become exposed to an email address that I do not want associated with that calendar's activity.
From my searching, this appears to be a problem and has existed in various forms throughout many versions of OS X.  There seems to be no way within Lion to define the default email address used by a calendar.
Previous solutions involved an entanglement of Mail's default account and Address Book email address entries.  I've called Apple, and there advanced applications support team don't know how to solve this.  Does anyone know?

did you ever fix this . This is exactly what ios happening to me now. Help
    I see this msg is from year and half ago...oh we;;

  • Can't send calendar invites with mobileme sync ?

    Hi,
I have an iPhone with OS 3.0, I'm using MobileMe to sync Calendars and Contacts with my Mac over the air and it's working well.
One of the new features for OS 3.0 for MS Exchange was to be the ability to send calendar invites from the phone - something not possible in 2.0.
However unless I'm mistaken it is still impossible to send calendar invites with MobileMe directly from the phone ?
If I then go into iCal on the Mac and add invitees to the event that was created on the Phone, iCal can send invites, and when I check back on the phone it now shows the invitees and whether they have accepted or not, but now the Edit button is gone for this calendar entry making further edits from the phone impossible, including even deleting the event.
    Huh ?
It seems crazy that the phone is able to display the invite status but can't edit it, especially if that feature is now available with Exchange. Or have I missed something ?
    Regards,
    Simon

    Hmm,
Well you can accept calendar invites on the iPhone since 2.0 if you're using Exchange, but 3.0 added the ability send calendar invites from the phone with Exchange.
If you can't send or receive calendar invites by MobileMe it kind of puts a lie to the "MobileMe is exchange for the masses" comment from the keynote speeches doesn't it Maybe in 3.1 we'll see it, and maybe in 3.1 we'll be able to Sync Notes by MobileMe as well cough.
    Regards,
    Simon
