Syncing Calendar to iPad thru Mobile Me

I am having some issues with my Calendar sync thru Mobile Me. When I tap on the calendar on my iPad I often have a blank calendar...then after a period of time (5-15 secs) the entire calendar loads. I am set up in my mobile me in settings for Push. Any help is appreciated.

I see something similar, a bit less time, but still noticeable. I'm putting it down to the recent redesign of the MobileMe calendar. I'm not finding it a problem, but it's certainly not ideal

Since I have upgraded iTunes to 10.1 I cannot sync my MS Outlook calendar with the iPad's calendar.
I keep receiving an error message stating: "_*iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPad...because the sync server failed to sync the iPad*_"
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

  • Syncing calendars from iPad

Everything works perfekt for me considering iCloud, exept for one issue:
When I input something in the iPad calendar nothing happends on my other devices.
From my iphone or my MacBook Pro everything shows up, also on the iPad.
    Anyone??  :-)

    Thanks,
I have tried the article, and also checked that the calendar is icloud-calendar. I discovered now that its 2 of my calendars that dont sync from my iPad, but 4 other actually syncs..

  • How do you sync calendars between iPad and MacBook Pro running Maverick

I had no problem syncing my iPad with my MacBook Pro before upgrading to Maverick.  Now I just keep going round in circles.  It's such a basic requirement to be able to sync calendars, but just so problematic.

    Use iCloud.

  • Icloud not syncing calendar with ipad

My 2 iphones have synced the calendars to icloud but my ipad 2 does not get the calendars from icloud to it.  How do I do this???

I also had this problem, with syncing calendar events from my iPhone to my Mac.  If I added an event on the iPhone itself, the event never showed up on either of my Mac's iCals.  The reminders did not sync in that direction either.  The only way to get an event to show up everywhere was to sit there and copy it off of my iPhone into my Mac when I'm sitting at the Mac.  I did not realize this until I missed an appointment.
But I figured out how to fix it in my situation - looks like just another aspect of a sloppy rollout of iCloud.  Once you have switched to iCloud, the iPhone now has a strictly local calendar, called "Calendar" by default.  It also has another calendar with the same name "Calendar," except that one is an iCloud calendar that syncs, and is the same as your old MobileMe default Calendar.  You will see this if you tap the "Calendars" button at the top of your iPhone's iCal display, which allows you to change which calendars are viewable.
But when you enter an event in iPhone, post-iCloud, the pulldown to select which calendar will contain the event defaults to the non-syncing "Calendar," because Apple has listed the local duplicate Calendar first in the hierarchy.  This looked absolutely identical in the pulldown to my regular fully-functional Calendar except for a very slight difference in the color of the bubble, so I did not notice, and I can't imagine most people would notice that they're now entering all their events in an impostor "Calendar" which is basically non-functional. (What possible use is a calendar that doesn't sync to anything?)  I finally noticed this when I was preparing to post the issue, and I noticed that my other two calendars (named "Diary" and "Exercise") had apparently been syncing both ways just fine.  When I decided to post a new event to all three of my calendars at once, to do the test, that's when I noticed the imposter "Calendar" was overriding my Calendar of the same name.  The reason events had been syncing when I entered them into the Mac, but not vice-versa, was that iCloud did not create a similar local-only Calendar in the Mac iCal app.
So to avoid having to pull down and choose the real Calendar each time I enter an event, I made the fake Calendar unviewable. (you do this in the Calendars button of iCal, not in Settings.)  It is remarkably stupid to cause a rollout to change everyone's default calendar from syncing to local, without them having a ghost of a clue.  Even if there might be some use for such a silly-seeming feature, it should be enabled only by conscious choice and not through a rollout.
Hope this works for you too.  I assume the steps would be the same for an iPad.

  • Syncing Calendar to ipad and ipodtouch

I have mobile me. I amtrying to have my calendar on my iphone, ipad & ipodtouch all push syc. Its not happening. My emails sync perfectly, but calendar and contacts do not. What should I do?

I was in contact with MobileMe support through chat regarding this and although the support person didn't know how to resolve it, she gave me this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1672
I have been through most of the tips there, but to no avail. For me, mail and also bookmarks synced, but neither Address Book nor iCal. I have yet to try to delete the account and set it up again to see if that helps. There is also a link to how to clean up your iCal and Address Book, but why should that be the problem, since it syncs between my MacBook, my iMac and my iPhone without any problems? It is only on the iPad it doesn't work.
    Maybe a bug?
But perhaps that support article can help you...

  • ICloud not syncing calendar properly (iPad, iPhone, Mac)

Recently my iCloud calendar hasn't been syncing properly to my iPad. I just realized this and turned off/on the calendar option in iCloud (for all of them) but this didn't do anything besides wipe all my appointments from my iPhone. I don't know how to get them to come back. The appointments still show up on iCloud.com as well as on Calendar on my Mac. Just not on my iPad and apparently now my iPhone too. When I add a new appt on my Mac or iCloud, they show up on the other one, but not on iPhone or iPad.
    Please help!

  • Imac still has mobileme, i don't get icloud, can't sync calendar with ipad

    Help!
I can't sync my ipad calendar with my imac...imac just says it can't connect...i thought i had set everything up in the beginning...

If your profile is correct, you don't have iCloud. iCloud only comes with OS X 10.7.2 or better.

  • Syncing calendar to iPad and iphone

How can I sync my outlook calendar with my iPhone and iPad?

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • TS2481 How do I sync google calendar with Ipad 2 thru the cloud. Used to work, but now I've lost it. Maybe a setting?

What setting do I use on my Ipad 2 and Iphone 3GS to enable google calendar to sync thru Icloud between my 2 devices? Thank you!

    Hey JonC84
Thanks for the question. You can definitely sync your new iPod touch with the local calendar on your computer (you won't need to setup an account like iCloud). The following article may help you achieve this:
iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
    Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, and Notes
You can sync contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and notes with other applications on your computer. This allows you keep all your information in sync across multiple computers and iOS devices. The settings for these items are all in the Info tab for your iOS device in iTunes. With your iOS device connected to the computer, select your iOS device. Then click the Info tab.
    Calendars
To sync calendars with your computer, choose "Sync Calendars" or "Sync iCal Calendars."
    - When syncing calendars, you can sync all calendars or sync specific calendars.
    - You can limit the data that is synced to only events that have occurred in the last 30 days. The option can be changed to any number of days.
For additional information, see this article (while the article refers to iTunes 11, most steps are applicable for you):

  • Sync iPad with Mobile Calendar?

Hi, can I sync the calendar on my Nokia E71 with my iPad 2?

You can't, not unless you are syncing the calendar on your Nokia with a calendar app on your computer that is supported for syncing direct with your iPad via the iTunes sync process, or you are accessing an Exchange account on your Nokia that includes syncing calendar events over the air with the Exchange server that you are also accessing with the iPad's Mail app.

  • I can't update or sync address contacts to iPad or Mobile Me

For many months I've put up with an incomplete sync of my contacts from my MacPro (which was selected as my "master" sync from here to mobile me in system preferences) because the bulk of my address book was available in mobile me. I also hate using webmail of any stripe so I had no reason to fret over the many missing addresses or any of the updates. Now I've added an iPad and I need all of the address to transfer over.
I did change my AppleID password some time ago. I have signed into mobile me with the new password many times. I wouldn't think that matters but I saw in a post someone mentioned doing that and I remember I had done it too.
Yesterday, with the iPad plugged into my MacPro, I was able to force sync with mobile me, but the only result of that was there were a few duplicates of old contacts as the warning said might happen when using iTunes and mobile me to sync. NONE of my updated contacts or new addresses came through. It's a matter of several dozen new contacts and changes I haven't been able to keep track of that are failing to be represented in either the iPad or mobile me.
I've followed all the advice I can detect from this forum to rectify the problem. I am using Snow Leopard 10.7.6. My MacPro is too old to update to Lion so iCloud is not an option and I'm not confident it would do any better. I went into system preference and turned off mobile me syncing across the board. I tried syncing with the iPad plugged into my MacPro several times through iTunes. I decided I should restart the computer just to make double sure the changes I made in system preferences to NOT sync with mobile me were applied.
I just barely started using iCal for more than a birthday calendar since getting my iPad. I've got several appts. listed on it now. iCal will not sync between the two devices either. The new birthdays I've added through my address book which appear on my MacPro did not go to my iPad and the appts. did not show up on my MacPro. I just did the force sync on calendars from iTunes again, toggling between all calendars and selected caledars and I di get something to happen. A bunch of the old contact entries from the address book duplicated on iCal on the iPad. Once again, none of the appts. on the iPad show up on the MacPro.
I've gone to the Advanced request on iTunes several times and asked it just to Apply Contacts to the iPad on the next sync only. It simply does not work to get my additional contacts. I currently have 657 contacts in my master address book on my MacPro. Mobile me lists even more but that's simply evidence that it's not kept up with my efforts to clean up my address book over the years and that it doesn't really follow the instruction in system preference that it should take from the MacPro, not merge. Merging is a disaster. Many new entries are missing from mobile me and the ipad. It doesn't look like the iPad gives a contact count. I just got a smattering of duplicates to transfer when yet again I told it to Apply while connected to iTunes with mobile me sync still turned off, but no new or corrected ones came through. You can see I'm going in circles.
Please give me suggestions of what to do next. I have backed up an archive of Address Book to my computer.

I thought I finally found the answer in post https://discussions.apple.com/message/10843915#10843915
I deviated from the instructions by manually deleting all my contacts while in Mobile Me before trying the forced update because it hadn't worked in the past to force transfer the addresses. I thought starting with a clean slate might be a step ahead. Now that clean slate seems permanent.
The gutsy move was to make Mobile Me download the empty address book into my MacPro. My address book went empty until I restored it through the archive I'd saved. It proved the computer and Mobile Me are communicating since it wiped out my address book on my desktop. I restored everything by importing the archive back into the address book. Thankfully that part is fine.
What is not working is for me to get ANY addresses to move back to Mobile Me despite repeated attempts at changing the reset action through the advanced selection of Mobile Me in System Preferences. I've unselected syncing and restarted the computer. I've signed out of MM and signed back in. I've closed the browser and opened it fresh again. I've closed and opened Address Book on the computer. None of those actions make a whit of difference. Mobile Me contacts remains empty when I tell it to replace MM with the contents of my AB on my MacPro.
I see under the gear there is an ability to import vCards. Is there any way to do a batch import? I have almost 700 addresses separated into more than a dozen groups. It will be a mighty tedious process to import them one by one.
No, iCloud is not an option. My computer is one version too old to upgrade to Lion.
