Syncing calendars in iCloud.

When a birthday is set in the address book on my MAC it is automatically picked up in iCal. However, when ical is synced in iCloud all Birthdays are missing. Is this just another problem with iCloud, or am I doing something wrong?

I have just noticed that my iPhone isn't syncing birthdays added to my MAC since I started using iCloud. i.e those created in address book. The solution seems to be to NOT tick the box that limits events from the calendar more than a given number of days. That is the check box in iTunes under "Devices, iPhone, info. Hope someone else finds this useful!! Now that I have unchecked this my phone syncs correctly.

iCloud cannot sync with Google calendars, so it would seem that you may be using the wrong calendar account. Click on the calendar button in the top right hand corner of the calendar app and check which calendar you are adding your events too.

thanks for pointing to another option... i just can't accept that if i don't want to use icloud, my calendar and contact are pretty much useless. i feel i may be missing something here, that there is another simple option, or it is the fact that apple is trying to jam icloud down my throat?
anyway... i wonder if you know well enough to help me, barney-15e, to set this up. i am stuck at this step from the baikal instructions:

Once you've migrated your calendar to your Mac, if you have OS X 10.7.4 or later you can enable iCloud syncing for your calendar (as well as other data) by setting this up as shown here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html. Once you set this up on your Mac and turn Calendars syncing to On your newly imported Google calendar will import to your iCloud account, and be reflected on your phone if you have Settings>iCloud>Calendars set to On. Before syncing doing this you should turn off syncing with your Google Calendar though as trying to sync with both iCloud and Google can create problems.
If you don't have OS X 10.7.4 or higher you'll have to sync your new calendar from your Mac to your phone using iTunes. To do this, first go to Settings>Mail,Contacts>Calendars>Default Calendar and confirm that you have selected your iCloud calendar as your default. Then connect your phone to iTunes on your computer, click on the name of your phone on the left side, go to the Info tab to the right, check Sync Calendars, then further down under Advanced...Replace Information on this iPhone, check Calendars. Then click on Apply at the bottom to Sync your phone. This will replace the calendar on your phone with the calendar on your Mac. Once on your phone, if you have the calendar on your phone, if you have Settings>iCloud>Calendars set to On the calendar will upload to your iCloud account. (As mentioned earlier, before syncing doing this you should turn off syncing with your Google Calendar as trying to sync with both iCloud and Google can create problems.)

Wish I could have an answer, I just did the same. I didn't find it on my icloud though which I find really strange. Good luck to you. Might be the last time I do anything to iCloud though as it wiped my work and billing calendars.

I need my calendar on my iPhone 4s synced with my boss's calendar on his iPhone 4s. We both have (different) apple id's but we need to see the same information. I think icloud can do this, but I'm not sure how to set it up or if this is the best option.

I am trying to share/sync my calendar on my mac to my iPhone and vice versa through iCloud! I have recently "upgraded" to OS X Mavericks, and I don't know how to do it. I can not find a guide on how to do this that is simple to understand. I'm hoping someone can help me. I need a simple step-by-step guide that will allow me to share, view and edit my calendar on my mac and phone which will then automatically update through iCloud and then come through automatically on each device!

Sync calendars to iCloud

I have many iCal events that appear on my Mac but not on iCloud. It appears that things for this year are stored on iCloud but a lot of stuff in previous years is not stored. How can I get older events onto iCloud?

I took your advice and deselected and reselected the Calendars box in iCloud preferences. That rearranged some of the events, but older events still do not appear in iCloud, though they appear on my Mac. Is there a setting related to the age of past events to be synched? There is on the iPhone but I do not see anything like that in iCloud or in iCloud preferences on my Mac. With MobileMe there was a way to reset the sync history. Is there something similar in iCloud?

How to sync calendars between iCloud accounts?

I have converted my mobile me account and my wife's mobile me account to use iCloud. Everything is working very well with the exception of address book. I cannot find a way for both my wife and I to share the same address book. There is no publish and subscribe feature as there is with ical.
Does anyone know how two different iCloud accounts can share the same address book account? It's easy enough to copy the data but I don't want to do that. I want to share the same address book so that when she makes changes I see those changes. When I make changes she sees the changes. thanks for any help.
Btw, I'm talking about being able to do this via www.icloud.com rather than from an iOS app. How can my wife log into www.icloud.com and see my address book? It seems amazing to me that nobody at apple thought, "hey, we might have some married couples out there who want to share data..."

Things really aren't "sync'd" in the sense that they were before. They exist on the server, and you access them from the server. So, they are in sync, but not really sync'd.
I think the ON MY MAC-based calendars are still sync'd through iTunes, which is why you see it on your Mac and phone.

In order to save time, I will never use icloud even if I have to stop using my iphone and go to another phone.

Everything appears to sync, but my iphone calendar will not update my macbook calendar. it goes to the other way, from macbook to iphone, but not from iphone to mac. (This is with itumes.)

I am not able to sync calendar to iCloud

This applies to any calendar item created on the iPhone. They do not appear on my iMac or iCloud. Any solutions please? A freind recommended this but I'm dubious, given I could lose all my existing data created on the iPhone, which I have upgraded to iOS 5.
First, upgrade to the latest iPhone software.. should be iOs 5.
Then, I formatted my phone.. go to Settings > General > Reset - Erase All Content and Settings
This will delete everything from your phone and re-format.. It's like getting a new one.
Don't plug your phone to iTunes.. just set up normally through the prompts.. while setting up, don't select to use from a back up.. start new. The next window will ask if you have an iCloud.. you put in your login and password, and everything works.
The new system does everything wireless.. Don't ever plug to iTunes..

Windows phones and iCloud are not compatible I'm afraid. Try going to the iCloud website on your phone, you may be able to view it there.

Trouble syncing calendar from iCloud! I have the iPhone 4 and have been using the calendar and it is synced with icloud - at least it tells me it is. I just an iPad 3rd gen and everything synced except for the calendar.

A couple of things to check:
in the Calendar app, tap on the calendars button (top left) and make sure the iCloud calendars are selected for display.
Open the settings app, select "iCloud" and make sure Calendar is turned on.

Sync calendars in icloud

I'm having trouble synchronizing my iCalendar between my desktop Mac and my iPhone 4S. Preferences for both devices are set to enable iCal in iCloud (or so I think) but items entered in one don't appear in the other unless I plug the devices together. What am I doing wrong? Does it have anything to do with the email address used as my iCloud account? Are there other settings that must be turned on besides the obvious ones? All my software is up-to-date.

Icloud doesn't sync calendars between devices

We have a number of Macs and idevices sharing the same Apple ID. Recently we noticed that when we create a calendar entry on one of the devices, it doesn't propagate to the others (including the computers) until it's physically synced to the Mac. Is this expected behavior? All computers/devices are running the latest software (10.8.2, 6.1.2). Thank you!

No, it's not normal. On the device that is not syncing calendars with iCloud check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar. Here be sure you have selected a calendar listed under you iCloud account as your default. If you haven't, make this change, then enter a new event on the device and see if it syncs now.
If your settigs are correct and it still isn't syncing, make sure any events on the device that are not in iCloud are added to your iCloud calendar. Then go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, when prompted choose Delete from My iPhone. Then after a minute or so, turn Calendars back to On to sync your iCloud calendars back to the device. Now enter a new event on the device and see if it syncs properly.

Mavericks syncs Calendar via iCloud.
Make sure you have the same iCloud account set up on your mac and your iPhone.
In System Preferences > iCloud, make sure the Calendars checkbox is checked.
In System Preferences > Internet Accounts, iCloud should be an account in the box on the left, and Calendars should be checked in the box on the right. If you have other calendars, for example, from work, make sure those are enabled too.
Check the same settings on your iPhone: in Settings > iCloud, make sure the same iCloud account info is present and that the Calendars slider is on. in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, make sure the iCloud account is present, and that the Calendars slider is on.
