I'm trying to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar to my iphone. ITunes appears to go through the entire syncing routine, but a number of new contacts entered on my iPhone do not get transferred to Outlook.. When I go to the iTunes guide, it refers to a number of buttons that are not on my iTunes, such as "Summary", "Info", "Sync" and "Apply". I've installed the latest iTunes - 11.0.2.26. Older iTunes versions worked fine for me.

Can I use a different Apple ID for Find My IPhone and syncing contacts, calendars, etc?

I would like to use one Apple ID to sync all of my contacts and calendars, but I need to place the Find My iPhone functionality in a different Apple ID account. Is this possible? Ideally Find My iPhone would be the ONLY feature used by that account, not app sharing, store purchases or anything else.

There is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. I am trying to sync an iPhone - version 8.1.1 with iMac - updated to 10.10.1. It will not sync my contacts, calendars etc. Not sure what i have done that is incorrect .This will be the first time this phone is synced to this computer

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

One Apple ID, two iPhones, same iCloud. How do I get rid of this without losing contacts, calendars etc?

Hi there, hope someone can help.
My mum upgraded about 18 months ago to an iphone 5 and to set it up we used my Apple ID as it was linked to my dads bank card. Had absolutely no problems with this, everything has maintained separate.
However when my mum decided to update to ios7 (and as she is a novice has not backed her phone up since upgrading) At first it appeared that when she updated she had lost all her contacts, calendars etc but this was restored through iCloud.
Now our phones appear completely linked. Eg when I receive a FaceTime call it goes to my mums phone as well.
So is there any way of splitting our iCloud account without having to lose all our data? Especially as my mum has months worth of business meetings. To make it worse we currently live the other side of the country from each other, so going to the Genius Bar seems rather pointless!

If have separate iCloud accounts and want to keep your all your iCloud data separate, you can create separate user accounts for each of you, then sign into your individual iCloud account within your user account.
If you want to just add both iCloud calendars on your Mac, you can sign into one iCloud account in System Preferences>iCloud, then add the second account in System Preferences>Internet Accounts>iCloud and only check Calendars with this second account.

Most of my info seems to automatically back up to the cloud automatically and at once point my address book must have also but I am no longer able to sync the updated address book to my icloud. Yes, to sync with iCloud on your Mac you will need to upgrade.
You can certainly upgrade to Mountain Lion but OS X Mavericks is due out within the next month so it may be worth it to wait. In the meantime you can access your iCloud contacts, calendars, etc... from iCloud.com. Sign in with your Apple ID.

I was updating in order to get iCloud and Bump so I could transfer my data to my new iphone 5. My old phone was acting like it was a new phone and wanting me to set it up. I had to update itunes on my pc also. My data is not there either. I pulled up icloud, not there! I had a lot of pictures, notes, and contacts that I need. Can I restore them???

Did you fail to sync contacts/calendars with your computer regularly?
Did you fail ot import your pics?
If so, then they are very likely gone. You can try restoring from backup.

OK, I THINK I HAVE FOUND THE FIX TO RESTORE CONTACTS, CALENDAR ETC

Try this.......takes about 2 mins
1. In itunes, top left click edit
2. when it opens click preference
3. when it opens click devices
4. this shows all your back ups
5. select the back up you want.
6. close that window
7. go to your iphone symbol on left and side and click to open
8. click restore from back up and hopefully it will work.
it says it will only work for contacts calendar etc and not change firmware.
I cannot try this as my phone is newer than my back up....different serial etc.
but if someone trys this and it works, please post that it works.

I was wondering if you happen to have any solutions, or what would you personally do in this situation:
After installing new software onto my iPhone, applications are visible in iTunes, I have selected the Applications to sync, and after the sync is finished, the applications are not actually on the iPhone. I have tried several times, which resulted in losing all of my applications from phone. I have troubleshooted and the most useful solution was to do with the restrictions of the App Store, although this is not the case for my scenario.
If you can find a possible solution could you please reply, or even if you cant assist, your help would be much appreciated.

I cloud drive IS not the SAME as I cloud you use for backups. I cloud drive is for moving docs, pics, etc. So if you upgrade to iCloud drive, yes you can still sync contacts, calendars, etc

My Contacts on my Imac have only one option in settings to sync with my google contacts. Before Icloud all my contacts and calendar synced just fine between my Imac and Iphone. Now with Icloud I never seem to be able to sync contact to or from my Iphone.

iCloud requires Mac OS X 10.7.2 or later. Your signature states you are using 10.6.5 so that could be the reason.
You can still use iTunes to sync your contacts. You don't have to use iCloud.

Syncing contacts/calendars of 2 phones on 1 computer [win XP]

My wife and I recently got iphones (yay!!). However, we only have on computer at home running outlook 2007 and every time we sync contacts/calendars we get all of each others info. I tried creating groups in outlook, but they are not showing up in itunes (i'm only getting the all contacts option, not groups). I've been trying to figure this out most of the day, any help is greatly appreciated.

I wonder if the original poster might be able to do it with manual sync and (admittedly) a bit of inconvenience. I have my iPhone set up to sync manually on two different machines, one for my music and the other for my laptop's iCal. But I didn't want all of the individual calendars of my laptop's iCal assortment to sync to the 'phone, so I checked "sync selected calendars" and toggled just the ones I wanted to cart around on my iPhone.
Maybe the OP could set up the iPhones for manual syncing, and on the Info tab check off selected calendars to sync with his phone before hitting the sync button. It may be a pain to have to remember to change the checkboxes for the His and Hers calendars, but it might be worth a try. (And make sure you have the right destination calendar -- again in the Info tab -- for the appointments made on your iPhone when you are syncing back to the laptop iCal. You don't want your appointments showing up in her calendar...)
