Syncing custom labels within contacts

On my iPhone, I have quite a few contacts with multiple cell phones, and I have created a lot of customer labels. I've also added notes, dates, etc. When I sync to Outlook, it only syncs the first customer label (as "other"), but none of the rest. And it doesn't sync my additional fields. At one time, I lost all my contacts on my phone, and when I resynced from Outlook, all of this info was missing.
Is there a way to get this info to sync to Outlook? Otherwise, is there another application I can use to sync all of my contact info?
Thanks.

Custom Labels are not Alphabetical.
Same problem with my os7 update, and This is a huge hassle, I re-use labels constantly as I travel for work and
I have hundreds of labels in my contacts.
This is a mess.
The only Good thing I can say is that the 'new' custom label field is finally at the Top of the list of labels.
It used to be at the bottom, meaning I had to scroll thru many many labels to add a new custom label.
So they fixed the tiny little problem and gave us a Massive new problem.

  • Can you change the order of both, custom and predefined labels within Contacts for Yosemite & iOS 8?

    I have a ton of custom labeled and predefined fields for many of my contacts within the Contacts app; often the order in which those fields are displayed, need to be rearranged.
    For example, when viewing a specific contact's information, I may want their home number to show up before their cell number, or I may a custom label to show up before their work number, etc.
    I looked for options in the Contacts app from Yosemite, iOS 8, and iCloud.com with no resolve. The only solution I found is inefficient, and tedious; it involves deleting all the fields for a specific contact, and then re-inputing all the information in the order that I enter them in.
    Does anyone know an easier way to do this? Is there a third party iOS or Yosemite App.

    I am sorry to have to point out to you that you have changed SpryMenuBasicSkin.css so much that it is impossible to render any assistance.
    To start with, the menubar has an ID of MenuBar, yet in the CSS I only see this referenced as a CLASS as in
    .MenuBar  {
    background-color:#cccccc;
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; /* Specify fonts on on MenuBar and subMenu MenuItemContainer, so MenuItemContainer,
    MenuItem, and MenuItemLabel
    at a given level all use same definition for ems.
    Note that this means the size is also inherited to child submenus,
    so use caution in using relative sizes other than
    100% on submenu fonts. */
    font-weight: normal;
    font-size: 16px;
    font-style: normal;
    padding:0;
    border-color: #ffffff #ffffff #ffffff #ffffff;
    border-width:0px;
    border-style: none none none none;
    I would suggest to start again.
    Once you have done that, supply a link to your site and we will assist you further.

  • Getting rid of custom labels in contacts

    I installed the TrueCaller app, but decided it wasn't for me, so I deleted it again. Now I have a lot of custom labels for phone numbers in the contacts app. I would like to get rid of them again.

    When in an individual contact entry, tap the Edit button in the upper right. Then, tap on the custom label you want to change. Select the label you prefer.
    No, there's no way of doing them all at once.
    You may want to try doing it through whatever program you sync your contacts to. That might be faster.
    Best of luck.

  • Syncing custom label phone number..

    Both iPhone and Yahoo Contact allow creating custom labels for storing phone numbers instead
    of using the normal labels (e.g. Work, Home, Other, etc.). However, I can't get iTunes to sync
    properly. The number stored in the custom label gets synced into Work or Other entry. Has
    anyone tried syncing the custom label phone number?

    Hi Connie,
    Welcome to the Numbers discussion.
    I'm guessing that you typed all those characters into the Custom Format window when you set up your phone format. Everything you type into that format will appear literally in your formatted cell. Data that you add to the cell won't appear because you haven't provided a container for it. In Custom Format, these containers are called Elements. Here's an example:
    You drag the elements you need into the format setup window and type in the extra text that you need. The elements themselves will require further adjustment to set the number of digits, presence of a separator, etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't sort custom labels in Contacts

    It used to be that when you added a Custom Lable in Contacts in iOS, it would show a sorted list of the custom labels you already made for your contacts phone numbers etc. so you could see if you've already made a custom label to avoid duplication.  Now in iOS7, you can add a custom label but you have to scroll down the long list of already entered custom labels that seem to appear in no particular order.  It takes a long time if you already have quite a number of custom labels.  It used to be easy when they were sorted to scroll down to the labels in alphabetical order.  What happened to this feature?

  • What happened to custom labels in contacts???

    Prior to loading 4.0.2, I could differentiate between the phone numbers for a given contact by selecting Custom Label and creating a label by name. In this way, multiple mobile phone numbers for a single contact - perhaps a family - could be distinguished by the name the phone number belongs to. With 4.0.2, the ability to create a custom label doesn't appear to be available. Is this functionality gone, or am I doing something wrong.

    Mine is missing also, I went to the Apple store and no body could help me. all my friends still have the custom Label, but I don't.

    Its not part of the OS which is down to Windows... Hopefully they will add this option in a later.

  • Printing custom labels from contacts

    How do you print labels with a different header than just the persons name? I would like to address holiday labels to read:
    "The Smith Family"
    123 Cherry St.
    Denver, CO 80210
    Rather than the contact name only:
    "Jane Smith"
    123 Cherry St.
    Denver, CO 80210
    Can I create a field that allows me to put it as the address header rather than having to use the contacts first and last name only?

    Hi gordonprop,
    Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you want to change the name field on a label. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • Adding Custom Labels Missing for Contact Numbers After Upgrading to iOS 8.0 and issue still exists on iOS 8.1

    I noticed that after upgrading to iOS 8.0 on my iPhone 5s, adding custom labels for contact numbers got removed. It still exists on iOS 8.1 as well. Is there someone who is facing a similar issue or can someone help me how to get that back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Yugendra,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    I have good news. You can still choose a custom label in Contacts on iOS 8. The option should be below "Other" in the list of labels when editing a contact. This information is found in the iOS 8 user guide:
    Contacts at a glance - iPhone
    Change a label. If a field has the wrong label, such as Home instead of Work, tap Edit. Then tap the label and choose one from the list, or tap Add Custom Label to create one of your own.

  • IPhone iOS 7 "Add Custom Labels" order changed...No Longer Alphabetized!

    Help!  I updated my iPhone4 to ios 7 with the recent update.  I love everything about it, but when trying to find a custom label in "Contacts > John Doe > Edit > Mobile" and then scrolling down under the "Add Custom Label" menu, I found out that all of my custom labels which had previously been in alphabetized order were ordered according to what I can only guess was their date of creation.  With a massive list of clients and contacts from various walks of life and organizations, I created a reusable Custom Lable system since I came across that need in my line of work.  After ios 7, that suddenly got rearranged.  It never occurred in any other software or hardware update and I've been with iPhone since first gen.  How can take my Custom Labels and return to the alphabetized order with which they were previously arranged without losing ios 7?  Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi Konsultix!
    Yeah, the customizable phone labels have been a real blessing up until recently.  If they ever figure this out, you should give it a try.  As for the lack of responsiveness which robodr mentioned, I'm not surprised.  We've pretty much been an all-Apple campus at my work with computers, portable devices, & even iPhones due to Apple's history with the philosophy of user-friendly simplicity.  Unfortunately, that philosophy seems to be changing towards lazy unforeseen complexity. The Mavericks switch (though free), the iWork updates, the rough iMovie launch, glitches with copier drivers resetting, the ios7 glitches, even this inexcusable lag in customer service here, all of it has my board and me rethinking our company-wide devotion to Apple including our iPhones.  If we're constantly troubleshooting, then Apple's nullified their advantage in the business sector and we might as well go for the cheaper Windows product since we're still constantly wasting our time & $$ on IT.  IT savings was the whole reason we convinced the board to switch in the first place.  Without it, Apple might as well kiss our money goodbye.  When Steve Jobs was alive, every detail was so well-thought out and customer service was at the top of its game.  Now, it's been a month since I posted a problem on Apple's website and no reply.  I'm glad to have this poor experience because, honestly, the timing couldn't be better.  My organization's AT&T phone contracts are expiring and we might begin switching more than our provider on this campus.

  • How to add custom label to a new contact in address book which is synced with outlook account

    Hello all,
    My iPhone is synced with outlook account. When I tried to create a new contact,'Add Custom Label' option was missing. Is Apple provides any solution to handle this? Is there any documentation provided about this behavior?

    The second script is working but if I need to change the link it will not allow me to edit or delete it in iCal on my desktop. The only way to edit it is to use the online iCal in me.com.
    And the worst problem is that the url does not show up on my iPhone iCal. The iPhone version of iCal has limited features. So if I'm away from the office on my iPhone I still have the problem of having no link to my iCal appointment. I still end up having to use both iCal and Contacts as separate Apps.
    I still dont understand why Apple wouldnt make these 2 Apps work together! It seems so obvious! thanks anyway.

    IOS 6 creates custom labels and save them giving you the option to delete them.
    IOS 7 creates custom labels but don't save them, so there is no need to have the option to delete them.
    But here comes the problem, if you have some custom labes saved in you Iphone / Ipad with IOS 6 and you update it to IOS 7, the device will keep those labels saved, but you wont be able to delete them.
    I realized this by going to contacts on Icloud. There those labels that I had on my devices weren't there. So simply restoring your device and configuring it as a new one to later sync your Icloud Contacts, will solve the problem.
    I know this post is old, but I might just try this with iOS 8. I have outdated custom labels that annoy me, because I still seem them in the list as options. If I get desperate enough, I may try your solution.

    Alright so OP here. I used Verizon Backup Assistant to get some contacts back (I have a few new ones I haven't gotten yet) and I merged iCloud with them so I have control. I still want to know what caused this though so I know not to do it again, and how to prevent it.
