Syncing emails across iPhone, iPad and macbook pro

Can you sync emails across iphone, ipad and macbook pro, so if you delete from one it deletes on all? If you write an email on one it shows up on all? If you store something in a folder or flad something it shows up on all?
Thanks

Syncing mail is a function on the type of mail account, & requires an IMAP or Exchange account. Not possible with a POP3 account.

• IMessage not syncing across iphone, ipad and macbook pro

I was recieving messages to my ipad at my mobile number. But they were not being recieved on my phone or my macbook. I then signed out and back into imessage on my phone as I saw that the number did not have a tick next to it. That has got me recieving numbers again on my phone but now I am not recieving messages to my ipad on macbook. I logged out on my macbook and the imessage crashed - when I relaunched and logged back in the names against the messages had all disappeared as it had reset the message threads to "bonjour", even though this was disabled in settings. Is there a way to set them all back to my apple account? I am also still not recieving incoming messages to my phone number on the computer. Or messages in my iPad. Please can someone help?
Thanks

Read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data.
Quit Messages if it’s running.
Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following item from the Library folder (it may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.Messages
Leave the Library folder open. Try Messages again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
Step 2
If you still have problems, quit Messages again. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
Messages
Note: you are not moving the Messages application. You’re moving a folder named “Messages.”
Test. If Messages now works, delete the Messages folder on the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Messages again. Put back the folder you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place, and continue.
Step 3
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with "com.apple.iChat". Move them all to the Desktop.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Test again. This time Messages should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. You may be able to put back some of the files you moved to the Desktop in this step. Relaunch and test after each one. Eventually you should find one or more that causes Messages to malfunction. Delete those files and recreate whatever settings they contained.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Messages again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were. You don’t need to replace the files you deleted in step 1. Stop here and post again.
If you later decide that you don’t like the results of steps 2 and 3, you can undo them completely by quitting Messages and restoring the items you deleted in those steps from your backup.

• IMessage sync iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro

For some reason iMessage no longer syncs between my iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro. How do I re-sync them?
Thanks!

Hey there David,
If you are still not receiving your iMessages between all your ios devices, I recommend the following section of this article:
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages - Apple Support
If you aren't receiving iMessages across all iOS devices
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each iOS device and make sure that you signed in with your Apple ID. You must use the same Apple ID on each device.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By iMessage At and make sure that you selected each phone number and email address you want to use with iMessage.
If you linked a phone number to your Apple ID with iMessage and the phone number hasn't appeared, follow these steps.
Sign out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and Settings > FaceTime on all devices.
If you're linking a phone number to an Apple ID, sign in to iMessage on your iPhone first. Then sign in to the rest of your device one by one with iMessage and FaceTime.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,

Hey 1Jerry,
Thanks for the question. You'll want to delete and re-add your iCloud account (utilizing the new Apple ID address). When prompted, opt to keep as much information on your device as possible. The following article provides information on how to do so:
iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2613
Turn off iCloud completely
Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only some devices, do one or more of the following:
On your iOS device’s Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
Thanks,
Matt M.

• Can I have an iPhone, ipad and MacBook Pro with the same apple id

Can I have an iPhone, ipad and MacBook Pro with the same apple id. When I use I tunes it get confusing and I have a paid app that needs the same id

When syncing the iPhone and iPad with iTunes on your computer that is logged in with the Apple ID you plan on using on all three, the Apple ID should be transferred to the iPhone and iPad for the iTunes & App Stores on each device. If not, you'll need to sign out of the existing Apple ID on the iPhone and iPad followed by signing in with the Apple ID you want to use on both.
Keep in mind that all 3rd party apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account or Apple ID that was used to download the apps. With an app installed on your iPad and iPhone that was downloaded with a different Apple ID from the one you will be using now, you will need to use that Apple ID and password to install app updates for those apps. Not possible to transfer apps purchased with one Apple ID to another or to merge Apple IDs.

• How do i erase a corrupt contact list from iCloud,iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro and restore Address Book backup to all devices and cloud?

how do i erase a corrupt contact list from iCloud,iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro and restore Address Book backup to all devices and cloud?
I saved a corrected, most up to date version of my master Address Book Contacts as a back-up on my Mac Book Pro.
then in an effort to "simplify my life" i attempted to sync my I phone contacts - ( pre clean-up version) with my clean list on Mac Book Pro, New I pad and newly available icloud. DUH!! Using iTunes to do the sync caused the clean MacBOOK Pro list to be commingled with the dirty iphone contacts. amd now the whole mess is in the cloud.
I need to clear out the contaminated lists from all iplaces, and startover with Back-up on my macbook pro. BUT HOW???
Help
Karen

I had exported an address book backup: abbu
so since i wrote, i have found my way into the cloud: selected all entries - deleted them all from the cloud.
This wiped out contacts on my iphone and i pad, and MBP, as well as on the cloud. I then imported the abbu back into my now empty address book.
To repopulate the crowd, i selected all in my address book and created a single card vCard for export to my desktop. I then dragged that vcard into my empty cloud. Now my cloud has the same clean contacts as my MBP addressbook. The cloud then pushed the clean contacts into my empty ipad and iphone contacts.
I had to go back to Address Book>preferences>Accounts and Add an I cloud account - but if you accidentally create a second i cloud account - all of a sudden your address book will duplicate itself. I quickly reversed it by deleting one of the icloud accounts in my Address Book>preferences>Accounts.
I created a new entry on my MBP and it is now on all devices and in cloud
I also created a new entry on my iPhone and it is now in the address book on my MBP.
I feel empowered!!
Have i missed anything??

Do you have MMS turn on in Settings?
Are you provisioned by your carrier to use MMS?
Lastly, give your phone carrier a call, as MMS is a carrier feature.

• Sync iPhone, iPad and Macbook Pro contacts

Hello.
Everytime I sync my 3 Apple devices (iPhone 4, iPad 2 and Macbook Pro), I get the same contact 3 or 4 times at my iPhone...
By other way, I want that the iPad and Macbook Pro can have the same contacts as iPhone, because I update my contacts at iPhone everyday. So, the iPad and Macbook Pro must get the iPhone contacts and not the contrary.
Can you help me on this, please?
Regards
Luis Antunes

Well I answered my own question. I just deactivated all the other accounts on my iPhone except iCloud, and all the duplicates disappeared. Before I did this, I merged duplciate cards on the MacBook Pro (from the Contacts Card menu selection). iCloud needs to be selected as the default account on all your devices, and it seems that other accounts need to be deactivated. Be careful - deactivating an account also erases entries associated with only that account.

• How do I sync downloaded PDF files in iBooks between my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro?

I've combed the forums. I can't sync through iTunes. These PDF files don't show up. I've downloaded tech manuals for gear I have via manufacturer's websites. I can't populate them across my devices. I have some in iPhone, some on iPad. I have an iPhone 5, iPad2, and MacBook Pro running current software as of 11:22 AM 13 MAR 2014. Nothing has worked so far in the standard methods.
Help!

I agree in theory.
Apple is very protective of copy written material, but even I have shoe-horned copy written papers into iBooks by using copy & paste. This is the only reason I can see for the lack of user friendliness in iBooks. You may have noticed that removing it from iTunes also removed the ability to edit any "get info" content - something I could do when books were within iTunes.
I like the ePub format. I can produce a very nice looking book with pictures and it looks great in iBooks. If I produce it on my Mac and use ePub into iBooks, I can then sync to my devices that way. For a really nice product this is a great option.
But. I can send the same product to Kindle and keep it synced to all devices. Or I can add to kindle from one of my other devices and get it to sync also. Obviously I made my choice and it works.
If you find a route via iBooks, please publish. Many other Apple users are frustrated by the lack of iBook flexibility since iOS 7 update.

• Imessage & sms using iphone ipad and macbook pro

I just had a new ipad mini for christmass. Great... but I have a new problem.
Note that I dont have a data plan on my cel. That means that i received imessages only when I am connected to wifi (home, university, etc..)
Before I had my new ipad mini. i configured my iphone and macbook pro to use imessage with my cel phone no as my primary ID. Everything was fine. When I was at home (both iphone and macbook pro connected to wifi), i was getting imessages on both my iphone and macbook pro at the same time. My friends that do not have apple devices were sending me sms that i was getting on my iphone only. When leaving home with my iphone only, I usually close my laptop that is getting automatically in sleep mode. My iphone continue to receive all my messages (my friends imessages were automatically converted to sms because my macbook pro is sleeping and therefore not accepting imessages and my iphone was not connected to wifi). When I get at school and my iphone connect to wifi, my iphone now reveives all imessages plus sms.
With the new ipad mini (configured the same was as my macbook pro to accept imessage with my iphone no as the main ID) it seems that it continues to receive all imessage, even when sleeping.
The effect is that when i leave home with my iphone only and get out of the wifi, my iphone do not get any imessage that are accepted by my ipad mini. My friends that use iphones dont know that i am not getting their messages because they see on their iphone that their message have been distributed.
That is a big problem for me.
I want to receive all my messages (imessage and sms) on my iphone... when i am connected to wifi and when i am not.
The work around solution i use (that i dont really like) is that, on my new ipad mini, i unchecked my phone no in the list of ID for imessages. With this solution, i am back as i was before getting my new ipad mini... but the problem is when i use imessage with my apple mini using my apple id as my imessage ID, my friends are getting 2 different conversations... on with my iphone no as imessage ID and another one with my apple id as my imessage ID. If they ever use this last one when I am out of a wifi zone with my iphone... I will not get those message on my iphone...
What is the solution??????
Thanks for helping.

• Syncing messages between iPhone 6 and Macbook Pro

I don't seem to be able to sync messages between my iPhone 6 and my Macbook Pro (using 10.10.1). Trying to follow the online discussion, but left scratching my head. Help, help.

Hi Hawgjohn,
The new continuity features with iOS 8 are awesome, but they do take some setup to work properly. Luckily Apple has a big guide on how to set up all of the continuity features (including text messaging from your Mac) here: Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support.
Browse through that article and find the section that is relevant to your issue and follow the instructions
