Syncing Everything with Chrome ? How to ?

I just recently bought 2 smart phones for my son and I. The HTC Sense version 5.5 on the Android version 4.3. I want to 'sync' everything to the Chrome browser but I am having trouble with the Apple applications. I also have Audiobooks which was purchased through iTunes Store and I cannot access many of the books I had puchased. This is very frustrating. My Laptop is a Sony VAIO VPCEE42FX Windows 7 home-premium 64bit operating system. How or Can I sync everything to the Chrome browser. I have already synced 95% of my stuff. I am committed to Windows and Android and Chrome. Do I have options ?

Unless you are in the US then films can't currently be re-downloaded from the store (and not all films can be in the US). If you are in the US then you could see if it's in the Purchased link on the left-hand side of the iTunes store home page for re-downloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

Auto-syncing ipod with itunes: how not to have it synced with whole library

I remember a year ago when I had itunes automatically sync with my ipod, it created a playlist, something along the name of "NAME's iPOD SONGS" or something like that. And then every time i connected my ipod, it would only look into that playlist to see what's been added or removed, and so it would sync only with that folder.
But now, it wants to sync with my whole library, which doesn't fit on my ipod. How do I make it sync with only a playlist instead?

Connect your iPod to iTunes
When it appears click on the iPod icon in the left hand pane
Select the Music tab
Near the top of the tab select *Sync Music* & *Selected playlists:*
Check the playlists you want to include, uncheck those you don't
Click Apply

Sync iPhone with Outlook- How to sync using last updated data without merge

I have set my iPhone to sync with Microsoft Outlook when I am at a PC office. The problem I am encountering is that the options for syncing outlook with Iphone are only (1) computer overrides iPhone or (2) computer mergers information with iPhone.
Obviously, as in any old PDA there are two missing options: (3) latest information overrides prior dated information or (4) IPhone information overrides computer.
Options (3) and (4) are clearly the most important options in a PDA phone because they take into consideration updates we make of contact info, notes, etc on our phones and later go to our office or home to sync the information with our computers. Option (1) is this case would not be applicable and option (2) would be wrong as it would create merged information adding old to new data.
Is there a solution to this problem or has iPhone OS missed this one?

Time Machine is your best bet.
I assume you are updating to 10.8.4?
You should be able to upgrade without starting over. It is still wise to backup with Time Machine before performing the upgrade in case things go wrong

Syncing bookmarks with Chrome

I use Google's Chrome browser on my PC. I sync my iPhone to that PC. iTunes has a drop down box on the Info page to let you choose the browser to sync bookmarks on the iPhone with. However, the drop down box only lists Internet Explorer. Is there a way to sync the bookmarks in Chrome with my iPhone?

Firefox is not listed on my MBP or my wife's Vista PC...only Safari and Internet Explorer.
One way around it is to use Xmarks, which synchronises your Bookmarks/Favorites up to a central server.
If you work primarily in Firefox, just open Internet Explorer once in a while and let it sync with all of your Firefox bookmarks, then when you sync your iPhone, everything is copied across

Home Sync errors with Chrome files

Recently a bunch of users in our office have been getting constant Home Sync errors, most commonly with Google Chrome files. File Sync opens and lists a number of errors syncing files including:
Favicons
History
History Index 2012-02
History index 2012-03
Network Action Predictor
Shortcuts
Web Data
among others. Any idea what's going on? Are the files locked by Chrome or something so Home Sync generates errors? Did something change in Lion or Chrome in the last few weeks because this never happened previously?

I ended up having to enforce this from our Open Directory server. You could uncheck "Library" from your homesynced folders on a per machine basis but that will have other consequences because things you would like to have backed up/synced won't be.
From our mac server: Workgroup Manager->(Computer group name you want to manage)->Preferences->Mobility->Preference Sync->At logout+manually
So I don't have it sync on login or in the background, only when they are logging out, hopefully warnings won't show up or it will be less intrusive.
Homesync still has a lot of rough edges, I wish there was a cleaner option

PC user wanting to sync everything with .mac

I'm a PC user switching to mac. At this time I have a .mac account. I also own an iPhone.
Here it is- I am trying to:
1. Basically, I want to sync ALL of the information I have on Microsoft Outlook (contacts, calendar, etc.) with .mac (if it's possible). Of course I have had no trouble with getting email on the iPhone.
2. Is it possible in this early stage of switching from PC to mac - to just sync my iPhone with .mac from the internet - or will I have to go on using Outlook until I get my mac?
3. When I get a mac, how easy will it be to sync all of my info I have on Outlook with the mac?
And last...
4. Because my iPhone has synced with the PC - will it still be easy to switch that to mac?
I hope I was clear. I know it's a lot.

This will seem to be a complicated answer, but bear with me. For starters, .Mac Sync technology synchronizes only selected data types between one or more Macintosh desktop or portable computers, and the .Mac servers. It does not itself interact directly with any other applications or devices. For example, the contacts and events on your iPhone are synchronized using iTunes, interchanging data with the truth database on your Macintosh platform, and distributed elsewhere in your synchronization pool to other supported applications, devices and servers.
For a background on this technology, read this document. It does not reflect the inclusion of the iPhone which synchronizes contacts and events only—not tasks—bidirectionally, or the nature of the iPod touch, which synchronizes contacts bidirectionally but events as if it were an iPod. It is otherwise up to date in the information it offers.
To the extent that your iPhone synchronizes contacts and event in Outlook, you can easily incorporate them onto your Macintosh in to the Address Book and iCal. Tasks: not so much. And mail, not at all.
The answer to mail is IMAP: if your provider doesn't offer it, switch to a provider who does. Even the reasonably low-level mail service offered by AOL supports IMAP. Many major providers such as Comcast and MSN Live do not, though IMAP is an option of US users of Gmail, and soon for other users or Gmail worldwide.
You cannot synchronize your iPhone directly with the .Mac servers 'over the air' using a carrier network, Bluetooth or wireless ethernet. You cannot synchronize your iPhone at all except using the supported USB pathway to iTunes on your Macintosh of Windows OS computer. It's no easier to synchronize with a Macintosh because you have already synchronized to Outlook on your PC, but your contacts and calendars should transfer without issue.

Apple tv 1 will not sync everything with itunes 10

I recently purchased a new Macbook computer and am trying to sync with my Generation 1 Apple TV.
Two options show up, "settings" with actually has nothing as far as settings go, only the name of the Apple TV, capacity, serial number etc and the other options is to sync photos.
I tried downloading an older version of iTunes but the library has been updated to Version 10 so I'm out of luck there.
There used to be an Apple TV tab in the preferences window as well and that's gone too.
It would be nice to sync movies, music and all the other things that make owning an Apple TV fun and useful. Right now it's a small box collecting dust.
Can someone help?

You've paired your library as a secondary library (streaming only).
Go to settings > computers > connect to iTunes, which is the top option. If you've already got a library listed at the top, select it and unpaid it before pairing your new library as a primary library.

Safari keeps crashing after 1st bookmarks sync with Chrome

Hi,
today I updated the iCloud software on my PC to version 3.0 and afterwards setup the new bookmark syncing feature with Chrome. After the first sync both my iOS devices (iPad 3 and iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0) don't run Safari anymore. It takes about 5 seconds after you open the app until it crashes. I can neither enter the Safari preference pane nor disable Safari syncing in the iCloud pref pane...
What should I do? Is there a way to reset iClouds bookmarks?? It's really annoying as I can't use Safari on my iOS devices anymore right now -.-

I have same problem guys.
Since yesterday afternoon, Every time i opened safari on my iPhone and pressed either iCloud tab button on the bottom right or try type on the address bar, Safari crashed. After a long read on internet I went to the iCloud settings and turned off the switch for safari. Once i opened safari it worked fine.
I called Apple support and discussed this issue and we tried many things like reset the phone and set it up as a new device, signing on an other iPhone with my iCloud details to see if it was the device, but in the end we found that the problem was with iCloud account and not the device related because safari started crashing on that device too. It seems like that safari data on my iCloud got corrupted. I read some forums last years where a few users experience a similar issue.
Now can somebody suggest me any workaround to fix this. Since i cannot open safari on my iPhone, i went on my macbook and pressed the iCloud tab button to see which iCloud tabs were opened on my iPhone. it showed two tabs one with blank line but when i press on the line, it takes me to macupdate website.
Could these two tabs be the the culprit that they are still showing on my iPhone? Can I ask apple to reset my iCloud profile? If i wait 7 days for these two tabs to clear (if they clear), will my safari start working again on iPhone? Safari is working fine on macbook though.
Have you managed to sort out your problem if so, how?

Itunes can't sync contacts with outlook, but it works with calendars.

i've been trying to synchronize my contacts and calendars to my ipod nano 4g lately. after much effort, my calendars are synced... but my contacts don't. when i click the 'contacts' tab in itunes, i can also not choose the option to select wich contacts to sync manually, the only option is 'sync all', but it doesn't sync anything with that. how can i fix this? i am using itunes 8 and outlook 2007 by the way.

Finally figured it out and this is how it worked.. I wanted to sync all my maps from chrome to firefox since I wanted them on all my devices and smartphone does not have chrome. I made the maps on laptop and bookmarked them in chrome in the to right corner of my mappage. I then opened firefox and opened bookmarks and then show all bookmarks , then there is an option to import from other browsers.I elected from chrome , and they all showed under firefox bookmarks.
was sure to have firefox sync on all tabs, phone and laptop. Thanks for help.

Email configs on device google (root)   live, ccast and the tmobile blackberry
Email config   on computer outlook google and live
No Business Accounts on device at this time, just home and device
Currenly when i plug in the usb 2.0 i am able to backup and restore and sync everything
with the exception of my contacts when i attempt to sync contacts I receive the following
sync is currently unavailable for address book because application is configured for wireless
sync. desktop sync will be diabled please check for help
when I show bi-directional or one-way (device to outlook) syncs
any ideas, thoughts

you are syncing with your gmail contacts.
so there is no reason for it to back up or restore on the blackberry.
to disable gmail sync go into contacts icon, menu click to get options, select your gmail account under contact lists and turn off wireless sync. then your contacts will back up and restore in the DM

How do I make my iPhone 'sent' mail folder sync exactly with my iMac 'sent' folder?

I've got an email set up through IMAP on my iPhone and on my mac and I've been using it for years but I've realized all of my folders sync exactly with the exception of my "sent" mailbox. For some reason, when I send something on my comp, it doesn't show in the sent folder on my phone? Does anyone have a clue as to what this could be and how I get them to sync like the rest?

Because everything is on the same home network, all are wireless except the mini, I'd rather not do a cloud base setup. It doesn't make sence to upload then download if all are on the same network. Maybe I'm asking how to setup a secure home network.

I would appreciate if anyone would help me.
1. I would like to know how to sync my iphone with different macs. I have a macbook 13 and a macbook 15 and would like to use BOTH to be able to transfer data without losing them. (address, apps, photos and music)
would like to use this feature if I were to be suddenly on a trip and a friend would like to share some of his files (audio, apps, photos..etc)
2. is it possible to use internet tethering on multiple macs or example a "spontanious" mac? (ex. if I were suddenly to use internet through usb on a friends mac while we were on a trip but it were programmed on my mac at home)
3. my internet tethering is only working on one mac which I usually use to sync everything... i tried just using tethering through usb on the other mac wihtout any sync but somehow it didnt work... usually i just plug and play and start using firefox... by automatic detection...
4. is there also a way to copy files from iphone onto a mac which would not be one of my libraries?
5. why cant i use iphone like the ipod as a disk use?
I am aware that these things are somewhat possible because i have read quiet a few artivles but they are sadly enough not so current... any help appreciated.

#1: As has been said, you can't get around it. An iPhone cannot be synched to more than one computer for any media content (it can be for contacts and calendar information, I believe).
#4: You can transfer items purchased from the iTunes Store to another computer but only if you disallow synchronization and authorize that computer to your iTunes Store account. There are third-party utilities that can transfer non-iTunes Store content.
#5: there is no disk mode in an iPhone and no way to enable one, at least not in the sense of disk mode in earlier iPods. There are third-party apps that allow some file transfer to and from an iPhone.
I can't help with tethering questions.

I have bought mac air but my iPod library is on my desktop - how do I get my new mac to have my library so I can sync it with my iPod

My ipod is currently synced with my microsoft XP desktop but just bought Mac Air & iphone 4s - how do I manage my library so that I can have my library on my macAir so that I can sync it with iphone & ipod. I want to move everything off my desktop & onto my lovely MacAir. Can anyone please advise me?
