Syncing Exchange with Google contacts

I would like to be able to sync my Exchange contacts and my Google Contacts, so they always match. (Explanation: I am using Google Contacts on webmail and Exchange contacts on Exchange, in Mavericks general and on iOS). I can acces both via the Adress Book, so it should be a matter of a small program capable of syncing the two. Alternately just a program that can one way sync from Exchange to Google as I am doing the updating of the contacts on Exchange. Does anyone know of a program or a way to do this?

I'm pretty new to this whole calendar thing, and I would like to know what are the differences between setting up a Exchange or CalDev account to sync with your Google calendar. Thanks.

Its a easy fix,it will take too much time to type out all of the steps,
Check your email account. see if they are their, You can then import them on your DAV card, The best thing to is add them to icoud then they will be safe.
Apple support can talk you through it.

  • Syncing iPad with Google Contacts

I have my iPad syncing to Google contacts, which works fine. But I went into Contacts on my iPad and added pictures to a lot of my contacts. When I synced my iPad, most of them disappeared. How do I prevent this from happening?

Thanks Meg, this works, at least in part.  Now the Contacts app populated, but only with 99 contacts, hardly all of them.  Do you know how to get all my Google contacts to sync?
Also, should I delete the Gmail account I had previously set up on the iPad now that I have set up as an Exchange account?

  • Sync problem with Google Contacts

My google contacts are not syncing since late Feb. 2014.  I am now running KitKat and still contacts aren't syncing.  Calendar and all other Gmail items are syncing well.  Have tried hard reset, removed and reinstalled Gmail account.  Turned off sync and restarted sync.  Tried with pulling battery and restarting all the previous.  Nothing seems to work.  HELP!?!?!?!

Yes, on my desktop, my Google Contacts are perfect when viewing in my browser.  Also, I have no problem exporting all my contacts to my desktop as a Google "cvs" file.  However, when I sent the cvs file to my Samsung S4, the contacts app would not allow it to be imported.  Apparently on the S4 the format is not acceptable.
The sync function on my S4 is working for all Google features (like Gmail and Calendar as well as all else) except for syncing contacts.  I've removed the Goggle account and re-installed it.  I've unchecked sync, cleared cache and data and just about anything any of the techies have proposed and then re-checked sync for contacts and I have been getting the same error message "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."  Same message since late February of this year.
I have spent in excess of 6 hours speaking with various Verizon tech support people and I have as well as with Google Android support.  Google tells me that they see no problems and it's a Verizon issue.  Meanwhile Verizon tells me the phone is working fine and it's a Google hiccup and I should have Google fix it.  Seems nobody is taking responsibility.
I have a tough time understanding how Verizon can continue to charge me for a service which they are not providing.  I'm hurt being their long time customer and they seem not to care.  Quite a disappointment.  My renewal is in another 11 months and I'm stuck with a defective product for which nobody is taking responsibility!

  • Sync issue with google contacts.

Just noticed that my contacts had not updated since Jan 2010. After conferring with Motorola did a factory reset. Put everything back in. Contacts were good for a couple of days. Now getting a message problem with sync. However gmail, calendar, facebook and picsa are syncing fine. Just the contacts.
Anyone got any suggestions. I have had the phone since before January without any other issues.
No apps that should interfere with process.

What is the difference. When I click on Contacts it shows the same as My Contacts except that My Contacts shows the groups broken down. Contacts lists alphabetically with the groups to the right and My Contacts lists the groups under it with the contact listings to the right.

  • Sync Pre with Google "My Contacts" only

Google provides for syncing with either "My Contacts" or "All Contacts".  Unfortunately, the Pre only syncs with "All Contacts".  This is really bad because Google saves everyone you send an email to in the All Contacts list.  So this is not useful at all to have 500 contacts stored on my Pre.  I want to be able to sync with "My Contacts" only...just as can be done on the iPhone.  Can this be done?  If not, Palm, please, please, please, provide an update that allows us to sync only with "My Contacts".
    Thank you.
P.S.  It kind of sucks that Palm does not have a customer support email address...at least not easily found.

You might need to check with your Exchange administrator to have them check the connection between your device and the Exchange server. He should be able to test your connection between the two devices. If it seems to be working alright, you can always try resetting your network settings to see if that helps.

  • Z10 does not sync with Google contacts

I've had my Z10 for about a week and am trying to set it up. I am trying, and failing, to replace an Android device with this phone. I used the easy setup for "Email, calendar, and contacts" to link the phone to my gmail/google account. That account has two-step verification enabled and the setup program duly collected the verification code. All three accounts got set up and populated with the latest from google.
But ..... if I make a change via a web browser on my PC (an up-to-date Arch Linux system), those changes simply don't get picked up by the phone, even with the sync interval set to 5 minutes. This is not a matter of not waiting long enough. It's a matter of sync not working. The phone does pick up new email messages arriving and new calendar entries.
If I try to change the sync interval, after the 'save', I'm told that my login credentials were not correct. After one of those episodes, I deleted the 'contact' account and added a new one, this time using the caldev approach under 'advanced settings'. This behaves the same way (except that it requires an application-specific password from Google, rather than honoring the fact that I'd already supplied a valid two-step code). Contacts get loaded as part of the account setup, but no further sync-ing happens.
I've wasted almost an entire day on this. Googling reveals plenty of other people complaining of the same problem and over a two-year time period. You would think that Blackberry, now the 90-pound weakling in the mobile hardware business, would pay careful attention to making their software work correctly with the largest purveyor of email, calendar and contacts. But they haven't.
It's too bad, because this system has a lot to recommend it (I am a retired computer professional and spent almost 50 years of my life developing software and managing large and small software projects and I am confident that I know good stuff when I see it, and much of this system *is* good). But my primary requirement is that the phone be a good organizational tool and if it ignores changes to my contacts, it's useless to me and I will return it and stick with the less elegant, but more functional Android, unless someone has a bright idea for how to fix this.

Well, I tried a workaround: use Link to sync the phone to Outlook. I just want a way to edit contacts with a computer and sync them with the phone, and very occasionally go the other way when circumstances require. You know, like we did with Palms 20 years ago?
What I found was that sync-ing contacts 1 way from device to computer produced no contacts in Outlook. Just utterly frustrated, I called the place where I bought it to try to get some help, they were clueless (and trying to call Blackberry is a waste of time; they won't talk to you unless you have a paid support contract), and so I asked for and got an RMA # and return label.
But still thinking about this, I poked around in the phone and noticed the BBLink accounts for calendar and contacts and thought "can it be that this system, which provides a nicety like Hub, which gives you an integrated, chronological view of *all* your communications -- calls, texts, emails, etc. -- be only sync-ing the BBLink accounts, not the Google accounts?". This is correct, difficult as it is to believe. So I exported my contacts from Google, imported them to Outlook, and did a 1-way sync from the computer to the device, and, mirabile dictu, the contacts showed up in the phone. After about an hour and half. Further synchronizations, done after some cleanup of my contacts were also very slow, though not this slow, since few contacts were actually being transferred in these incremental synchs.
Whoever wrote the synchronization part of Link clearly doesn't understand the concept of complexity of algorithms. (S)he also clearly didn't test this code on a contact data set of any significant size. I have about 1800 contacts. I had about the same number many years ago when I had a Palm that would sync an order of magnitude faster than this Blackberry setup and do so on much slower hardware with a slower communications channel (a serial port).
I also found that two-way synchronization produced some very odd messages, such as telling me that essentially all the contacts were in conflict. I abandoned the idea very quickly of ever trying a two-way sync (again, standard practice with Palms).
Link is clearly a crock, but I think I've coerced it into doing what I need. I have until the end of January to decide whether to keep the Z10, and as I said in my original post, there's a lot I like about this phone. So I will use that time to see if I really have found a workaround for this ridiculous synchronization weak spot.
    Hello,
I`m glad you figured out a way to do what you need to do. I have red before some other people having issues with BB Link and Outlook. I never used Outlook - I prefer Google account, which for me has worked very well, regardless what phone I use. It is true, it can take some time to sync in everything but for me it never took days as others have said.
However, once the huge amount of data is synched to your phone, you don`t need to worry about further time consuming synching.
Are you saying that synching with Google *contacts* works for you? In the sense that after you have the phone loaded up with all your Google contacts, if you make a change to the contacts with a web browser that the change appears in the phone? And vice-versa? Neither of those cases work for me. One wrinkle: I use two-step verification on my Google account. Do you? I am very suspicious that two-step verification is the cause of my issue with contacts synchronization (though, as I said in my original post, email and calendar synch do work).

  • Address Book Sync with Google Contacts across computers (instead of iCloud with Lion)?

I am trying to get ready for the port to iCloud and i am going to do this while still on Snow Leopard per Roger Wilmut's fantastic documentation. It appear to me I will simply lose Bookmark Sync (until I move to Mountail Lion) which is a small(ish) price to pay to not have to deal with an upgrade at the moment.
The question I am hoping to answer is if it will be possible to SYNC MY CONTACTS across my devices (MacBookPro, MacPro and iPhone) using the Sync with Google Contacts Option in Address Book Preferences.
Does anyone know if checking this option will put these contacts on both of my Machines and on my iPhone?
ALSO, does anyone know if it is possible to put the ADDRESS BOOK CONTACTS in one folder and the GOOGLE CONTACTS in another folder so they don't all get mixed up together?
    TIA

I can't even get manual Google syncing to work with iCloud enabled. Without iCloud, everything works fine.

  • Syncing ipad mini with google contacts

    Hi Folks
Well back in the iOs ownership with an ipad mini. My day to day mobile is a moto razr droid and i have my contacts linked with google contacts. I have also linked my hotmail account to share google contacts. When i view both sets they match my mobile.
On the ipad mini i have set my mail as hotmail and tis works fine, i have sync'd my contacts to iCloud and Hotmail. This is where the probs are. The ipad address book shows an out dated list. when i go to groups and uncheck iCloud so that it shows only hotmail contacts it doesn't match the contact i have on hotmail.
Can't fing where to force a sync either. Both accounts are set to push sync.
Have searched online and spend the evening trying to sort, any help greatly appreciated. ps at the mo not using itunes. just OTA sync.
    Neil

I have had a similar problem. I can't find "contacts cleaner" in versiontracker. Is this an iphone app?

  • Selecting contacts by group when syncing with Google contacts

I sync my iPhone with Google contacts, however, ALL contacts are sync'd. I have many groups that I don't want sync'd, such as "people who appear in my Picasa photos that I don't have/want contact information, like Bob's friend Pete". I have to suffer with these insane entries in Google contacts, but I would like to exclude them when syncing with my iPhone.
Is there any way to do that?
Is there any way to make such a request to Apple?
    Thanks

I can't help but feel this should probably be on an iphone forum, not itunes.
If you want to address people who work for Apple you should provide feedback through their feedback sites which you can find under "contact" at the bottom of the page. Pretty much the only people who respond these forums are other Apple product users like yourself, sharing their experience.

  • Sync Address Book with Google Contacts

    Hi,
recently I am syncing the Mac Address Book and my iPhone with Google Contacts.
If I add a birthday to one of my contacts on my iPhone, the birthday also will be added on Google Contacts. If I sync my Mac Address Book with Google Contacts now, the birthday doesn't show up on my Mac Address Book.
So my birthday calendar in iCal always is empty...
    Any solutions?
    Regards and thanks,

    Hi,
Google uses Google Sync to synchronize your contacts with your iOS and OS X. But this, from Jan 30, 2013, is only available to the paid versions of Google Apps (read more on http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2716936).
You can continue to sync on both iOS and OS X using the CardDAV protocol, which, IMHO, is even better.
Follow the instructions in this post: http://support.google.com/mail/answer/2753077?hl=en
Mountain Lion Contacts also supports CardDAV accounts. All you need to do is add the CardDAV account with your account credentials and it will synchronize again.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Ramses

  • How to sync Address Book with google contacts (google apps)

    Hi everybody
With Leopard and Snow Leopard I could sync my Address Book with Google Contacts (in google apps). Now with Lion I can't find a way to sync those contacts. I have an iCloud acount for my personal contacst but our company uses Google Apps for sharing the contacts, and I would like to know how can fix that.

  • Syncing with Google Contacts doesn't work anymore

    Hey everyone,
my iPhone 3g recently stopped syncing with Google Contacts (I can't exactly say since when, but approximately since one week). Before, it worked perfectly fine for the roundabout 2 months i have my iPhone now. iTunes is up to date, as is my iPhone software. Also, i didn't change my Google Password or anything. iTunes also - while syncing my iPhone - tells me for a few seconds it's syncing, but nothing seems to happen. What shall i do?
    David

This probably means that you are using iWeb 08 or iWeb 2 and you are correct that this will not run on the latest software, however iWeb 09 or 3 will, so if you want it to work, you will have to purchase iWeb 09, contained in either iLife 11 or iLife 09 via Amazon.
No, of course you won't find iWeb for sale in the App store because as this thread has been telling you, both it and MobileMe have not existed for at least that last 2 years and Apple withdrew support for iWeb sometime ago along with MobileMe, which has now become iCloud.
If you want iWeb 09, you will have to purchase it from Amazon - this is the only way that you can get it, but now might be a good time to move on and use some software that is both sold and supported such as EverWeb.  Take a look at it.  It is designed to be like iWeb but you can do a lot more.

  • Address Book doesn't have "sync with Google contacts" any more...!!!!!

    Hi Guys
    Hoping someone can help...
I've updated to 10.0.8, and I just have a look at the options under Address Book. There are still options to sync contacts with MobileMe, and Yahoo (and one other, which I can't remember as I'm not at my Mac), but the last one, "sync with Google contacts", has disappeared!
Has anyone else noticed if that has gone? Have Apple decided not to partner with Google any more?
Or does my Address Book just have some kind of bug?
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Sorry... correction... 10.5.8, obviously!!
