Syncing Folders with Aperture 3, How To?

Hi,
I was wondering how can I keep a file system folder in sync with Aperture library (Both when I add files to the system folder or when I create a new versions in the Aperture library).
I know it is not supported in Aperture. Is there some scripts or a plugin to do this?
I know that Aperture was designed to be the sole Manager for the photo library, but I need this feature. Please let us not turn this discussion into a discussion about managing libraries emoticon - smile

Sometimes, I would like to export the versions to have them as JPEGs. I know that Aperture was designed to manage versions in an incremental fashion. But sometime, I would like to have this option (For my PS3 to see the files [I know that you can sync your aperture library] or for my wife's Windows laptop to see the files etc...).
Rather defeats the purpose of Aperture.

to watch a folder and perform certain tasks when a change is detected - like importing to Aperture.
However, matching versions is another matter. There is no file for a version, it's simply an entry in the database. Do you really want to export every version as a jpeg/tiff ?
Rather defeats the purpose of Aperture.

Mavericks syncs Calendar via iCloud.
Make sure you have the same iCloud account set up on your mac and your iPhone.
In System Preferences > iCloud, make sure the Calendars checkbox is checked.
In System Preferences > Internet Accounts, iCloud should be an account in the box on the left, and Calendars should be checked in the box on the right. If you have other calendars, for example, from work, make sure those are enabled too.
Check the same settings on your iPhone: in Settings > iCloud, make sure the same iCloud account info is present and that the Calendars slider is on. in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, make sure the iCloud account is present, and that the Calendars slider is on.

How do I sync folders with different files?

I have two identical folders with identical folder trees
example:
SCHOOL-1 (root)
- Class A
- Class B
- Class C
SCHOOL-2 (root)
- Class A
- Class B
- Class C
In SCHOOL-1 folder, I want all my open office files and in SCHOOL-2 folder, I want all my pdfs. I'm looking for an automator function (or hazel) to copy any pdf files from a subfolder in SCHOOL-1 and move them to their corresponding subfolder in SCHOOL-2.
I don't want to make a separate action for each subfolder, because there are about 200 of them.

This is the basic breakdown of root folder
Root folder
- 8 subfolders
- 11 to 20 sub-sub folders
- 2 sub-sub-sub folders
Which breaks down to roughly 300 folders.
At the lowest level, I have all my files, in which something is updated on a daily basis.
Folder actions would be nice, but I often have problems getting them to work, so an application might be my best best.
I don't want to delete the target folder's contents either because there are multiples sources for PDFs. Nor do I want to overwrite anything.

Error -50 syncing photos with Aperture

I cannot get my iPhone to complete a sync. It stops before syncing the photos with Aperture, displaying a -50 error.
Does anyone have any ideas, or suggestions, how to overcome this problem?

Syncing photos with Aperture 2.0

After upgrading to Aperture 2.0, I no longer have the option to select which projects I want to sync my photos from. It is now all photos or none (with Aperture 1.5, you could select one or more projects). Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there any known workaround?

I have been running the Aperture 2.0.1 upgrade for some time now and still can't import Aperture albums. It's all or nothing.
Does anyone else continue to have the problem after upgrading to 2.0.1?

IPhone 3Gs can't sync photos with aperture 3

When I want to sync photos from aperture with my iphone 3Gs I get this message:
"IPhone "Stig BN" cant be syncrhonized. The necessary archive does not excist." (Translated from danish)
Do anyone what the problem is? It used to work...

...simply have to delete an iPod Photo Cache folder. Easy - when you know it - and now everything works fine. Maybe this can help somewone else.

Syncing iPad with Aperture

When I plug in my iPad I can sync it with the Aperture library that is currently open. Is it possible to sync the iPad with more than one Aperture library? Thanks for your help.

No you can not.
I commonly use two Aperture libraries with my iPhone. When I sync the iPhone with my sync selected library open, new and updated photos get synced. When I sync my iPhone with my non-sync selected library open, nothing happens in the sync process.
Though I haven't tried it, I imagine if the sync selected library got changed, it would wipe out the photo content of the sync device before doing a sync.

Note: What I mean by sync selected library is the last Aperture library selected in the synchronization process with a given device. I have a library that I chosen to use in iTunes. That would be my synced selected library. If I do a sync while another library is selected, iTunes does not recognize that any photo synchronization has happened. Though when switching back to the sync selected library, iTunes again updates to reflect information pertinent to that library after the device is unplugged and replugged.

What has this got to do with Flickr? What kind of wireless network do you have? What size are the files?

Syncing folders with automator

I would like to sync two folder and tried it with that http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/syncfolders.html
This works fine, but I need that the contents of these two folders is checked regarding certain file extensions and then sync it.
How could I do this?

Photo sync bug with Aperture albums?

Hi, I think I have found a bug with how iTunes syncs photos across to my new (and until my number ports across, useless) iPhone.
If you set it up that only selected Aperture albums are synced, like this;
[ ] album1
[tick] album2
[ ] album3
[tick] album4
then albums 2 and 4 are optimized and copied across.
However, if in Aperture you create a new album (by importing new photos, say) that appears in the list, e.g., between album2 and album3, then the ticks retain their spacial position, not their position relative to the album they are meant to sync;
[ ] album1
[tick] album2
[ ] album_new
[tick] album3
[ ] album4
So now, when you sync, album4 is deleted and album3 is placed on the phone - not what you would expect.
Has anyone else noticed this?

That's strange... I am using leopard, with iTunes 7.5 and a brand new UK iPhone (so it has 1.1.2 already on it). It was essentially in 'virgin' state too; I had to return my 1st phone due to a tiny but annoying problem with it. I noticed the this after only a couple of syncs - when the sync was taking a while due to the photo optimizing step.
I will take another look tonight.

I activated my 4S over WiFi. I have never synced it with iTunes. How do I sync it now without losing all of my content?

Itunes will have me erase my phone before I can sync it. How do I keep from losing all of my content (apps, app configs, settings, accounts, notes, voice memos, pictures, songs etc.) Do I need to use iCloud to back it up? If so, I'd rather not spend money on more iCloud space.

Syncing Everything with Chrome ? How to ?

I just recently bought 2 smart phones for my son and I. The HTC Sense version 5.5 on the Android version 4.3. I want to 'sync' everything to the Chrome browser but I am having trouble with the Apple applications. I also have Audiobooks which was purchased through iTunes Store and I cannot access many of the books I had puchased. This is very frustrating. My Laptop is a Sony VAIO VPCEE42FX Windows 7 home-premium 64bit operating system. How or Can I sync everything to the Chrome browser. I have already synced 95% of my stuff. I am committed to Windows and Android and Chrome. Do I have options ?

Sync ipod with new computer - How?

My computer died and had been re config. therefore my old itunes does not exsist. I have installed v7 but when i connect my ipod I get the message " the ipod is synd with another itunes libary. I have transfered my puchased music to the new libary but how do I transfer all my tunes that were not purchased from the store.
I do not have access to my original itunes libary. Only have it all on my ipod.
Help!! I am pretty much a virgin user.

Yes that will erase the songs but it would be illegal file sharing to keep them anyways.
