Syncing from Iphone Reminders to Ical?

Is it possible to sync between Iphone Reminders and Ical or other app on Mac?

Thanks. I tried to set up icloud and then realized that without Lion (I have the last intel mac that won't work with Lion) it wasn't helping. So I tried to trun off icloud. So I am back to usb.

(Sorry, first time user of these forums, and it's confusing in it's own right)

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

  • Sync from iPhone 3G to iTunes - not working, bug?

I am trying to restore my music from my iphone 3G to my new PC and iTunes. But every time i select sync Music, iTunes says it will delete all music on my iPhone and replace with nothing. Anyone got any ideas when this bug will be fixed? Or is it just a wrongly worded function, so NOT sync, but copy, and only in one direction? Very confused why iTunes would lack such basic functions...

Thank you for your reply. I understand that it's not a backup device, but I don't understand why such a simple and helpful feature is so hard to achieve? The only reason I can see is, after reading up on this 'bug', is that you are quite right, they don't want you to use it as a backup device, UNLESS, if you spent all your money with Apple and iTunes, because then you CAN sync from iPhone to iTunes. So much for "All you music in one place (but only music Apple made money from)"... Now I have to buy some third party software to copy it all back. Absolute rubbish again from Apple.

  • Can't sync from iPhone to pc...

    Hi

Is there a way to sync from iPhone to pc.?
    Thanks

  • Can you sync from iPhone to PC?

Can you sync from iPhone 3GS to PC, instead of the other way 'round?

The syncing of iTunes content is a one way transfer process only - from iTunes on your computer, or from your iPhone to your iTunes library on your computer the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after purchasing/downloading music, video, or 3rd party apps with your iPhone.
iTunes content is not kept synchronized but is part of the iTunes sync/transfer process. Photos transferred from your compute to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process are not kept synchronized either. The transfer of photos is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone.
The only bi-directional or true sync process is for contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on your computer. The same for notes if you are using a supported application on your computer for syncing notes.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first. You can sync contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks with the supported applications on multiple computers.
You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer along with all other important data that you will need or want to access on your new computer such as photos, documents, etc. All iTunes content is stored in an iTunes named folder. With iTunes quit on your new computer, place the copy of the iTunes named folder from your old computer in the appropriate location for access by iTunes on your new computer. You will also need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only. First you need to authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
The iPhone is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device or as a storage device to transfer data from one computer to another.

  • ICal sync from iPhone 3G no longer works with both MacBooks?

    Hi Group:
I've got an iPhone 3G, a previous gen MBP and a white MB, all running the latest software updates. For the past several months I have been able to enter iCal events on my MBP, sync to the iPhone using iTunes, and then sync the iPhone to the MB. For some reason I can't guess, that no longer works, and iCal events are not being transferred from the iPhone to my MB iCal app. Did this happen with the iPhone 3.0 software update (the timing seems about right)? I called Apple Care last night and they said only a .Me account would return that functionality, but denied this had anything to do with the iPhone 3.0 update. In fact, the rep said it never should have worked in the first place.
FWIW, here's the error messasge iTunes generates:
"iTunes could not sync calendar events to the iPhone because an error occurred while sending data from the iPhone."
That's the exact wording, and it doesn't really make perfect sense, either. So, is there a workaround for this, or a third-party app, perhaps? Did Apple make this change just to sell more .Me accounts? Finally, is there maybe an automated way to sync the iCal events between the MBP and MB across my Time Capsule network? Thanks in advance for any ideas.
    Dean

****, that was a brilliant solution. To be clear, what was happening is that I could no longer sync calendars from the iPhone to the MB, but never lost that ability on the MBP. I would not have guessed your solution, as I've never even opened the iSync app, and had no idea it was in any way involved. Thanks, and I wonder if there's some way Apple could add this solution to their database for the Apple Care reps?

  • Calendar will not sync from iphone to ical since 10.5.2 update

My iphone has worked perfectly since I bought it last summer & I have been raving about it!
I updated to 10.5.2 and now I am having a syncing problem.
If I put an appointment in the iphone it will not sync to ical, but it does sync from ical to the iphone.
This is all new since 10.5.2.
Are there some simple steps to follow to resolve this issue?

    1. got the back up done. After I answer your couple of quesitons, i will do the reset.
    2. I am responding to you using my .mac account, which, as you know, is IMAP.
    3. In addition, I do have a POP ( Yahoo) account that I use a great deal. I use the Mac Mail application to grab the Yahoo e mails for me, as I thought that would be the easiest set up. ( Just launch Mail and every e mail is available for viewing). I suspect you are going to advise me to take the steps to turn my POP Yahoo into an IMAP Yahoo???.
    4. So I think I may have answered you question about accessing this account with an email client, right? I am using Mail.
    5. Thanks for the thought on the incoming e mail server. Good to know.
    6. My Mac account settings for removing messages from the server when downloaded by the email client ( Mail?) are: (1) for the Yahoo - I looked under Accounts/Advanced. And, if that is the right place, hopefully, I have set it to remove copy from server after retrieving a message after 1 month. ( just being careful). (2) I do not see choices for my .mac IMAP account, except under Trash, and for that I have also chosen 1 month before permanently removing.
How'd I do?? I want to answer your questions as specifically and succinctly as possible. Your assistance is much appreciated.
    Andy

  • Syncing from iphone to ical doesn't work

In my syncing trials, I can't seem to figure out why my Calendar on my iPhone won't sync with my iCal or MobileMe.
My Google calendar syncs fine as well as iCal to MobileMe. There's something going with the process between the phone & computer.
    Does anyone have a solution?

I upgraded to IOS 7.0.3, OSX 10.9 and itunes 11.1.2-
    It does still not work.
The good news is, that this now  is not a bug anymore, now it is a feature.  Thanks a lot.
I want local sync and therefore have to look for other products.

  • Calandars don't sync from iphone to MM or ical

My iphone MM account has stopped syncing with the calandars only. The mail, contacts etc all ok. I have lots of entries only on the iphone so I dont what to reset it. I have tried a sync from itunes it backs up OK and restores OK, but still no sync with MM.
    Thanks

Syncing an existing app on iTunes to a different device is like adding it new to that device.
You must enter-configure your specific info.

  • Reminders will not sync from iphone 4s to iPad 2 .. ???

EVerything else in iCloud seems to work, but I don't see reminders on my iMac, or on the non-originating device. I have an iMac, iPad 2 and iphone 4s ... Please help!!!

None of that worked ... I'm having the issue that some others are having that have to do with the "+" not showing up in the iPhone reminders app. If I shut reminders to off in icloud preferences, then I get it ... Then if I hit on, it says "merging with icloud," but the reminders do not show up on the ipad or on the icloud calendar.
if I do post on the ipad reminders app, however, those DO show up on icloud, but not the iphone ... ???

  • Triangulating iCal sync from iPhone to OS 10.6.8 MacBook (no iCloud)

If I sync my iPhone calendar to iCloud, then connect my iPhone to Macbook (OS 10.6.8) via USB, why don't the calendars sync?  That is, why wouldn't the calendar data on my iPhone "upload" to my MacBook via USB?

  • Syncing from iphone back to macbook?

The hard drive 'died' on my Macbook just before the 3 years warranty was up so now have a new hard drive but lost all information and files (though tried with expert help - could not recover any). Now I would at least like to sync all the info/music/ical etc on my iphone back to my macbook but cannot see how - can anyone help?
    thank you!

By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you replaced your hard drive, your phone, see your computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else:
    http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php
Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
    1. Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes.
    2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in Address Book & ical. The entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
    3. Connect your phone, itunes running, do not sync at this point.
    4. Store>Authorize this computer.
    5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
    6. Right click(Control Click) in the device pane & select reset warnings.
    7. Right click again and select backup.
    8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
    9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
That's as good as it gets without a backup of your itunes library and other important data..

  • Unable to find notes synced from iPhone in Mail

Notes from my iPhone seem to sync to my IMac, but they don't show up in Notes under Reminders in the sidebar in Mail.app. The notes I entered in Mail.app are there. The iPhone notes, no.
I asked in the iPhone discussion and was told I should see a flippy triangle next to Notes in the Mail.app sidebar. I don't. Should I? Should it have subheads for "On My Mac" and "MobileMe"? They're not there. How can I get them to appear? Would doing so help me see synced notes from iPhone?
I believe the syncing of notes from iPhone is actually happening, because when I dock the iPhone I see a warning on the iMac that I am about to change more than 5% of the notes on the iMac. I tell it OK and see a progress bar in iTunes telling me Notes are being synced. But I can't see the newly synced notes in Mail.app. Help. Thanks.

OK, I think I figured out what to do to get all my Notes to sync between my iPhone and my iMac (including to/from MobileMe).
If you have a like problem in syncing Notes (or any other item that you intend to sync), the main thing is to read and follow the instructions in
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
which is called "Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: Resetting the SyncServices folder." (This is the first hit you see in Google for "reset mac sync services.")
If you, like me, are running Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard on your Mac, the key thing is to:
    1. Open iSync.
    2. Choose Preferences from the iSync menu.
    3. Click Reset Sync History.
There are different instructions for Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.
I didn't actually have to re-enable my iPhone's sync settings in iTunes or the sync settings under MobileMe in Preferences. Both sets of sync preferences were the same as before. But when I went ahead and synced my iPhone, and again when I synced MobileMe, I got a number of warning messages on my iMac screen telling me I had to decide whether to Merge the notes from each of devices or sources ... which I in fact did. (I also got some warnings indicating that whatever was doing the merging needed access to my Keychain, which I always allowed.)
After all was said and done, I had a fully merged set of all my Notes in Mail.app on the iMac and also in Notes on the iPhone (and, I believe, in MobileMe).
I don't yet know whether there were any unwanted side effects to all this. However, it seems likely that using this procedure could produce ugly side effects under some circumstances, especially if you make any mistakes such as not allowing the various sources of notes to be Merged into one big batch. Be careful ...

  • Syncing across iPhone, Google Cal, iCal, and Outlook

My personal computer is a Macbook 13" from 2007, running Leopard version 10.5.8
At work, I use a Dell using XP (for now- upgrading to Windows 7 in a couple weeks) and keep my schedule through Outlook.
I want to sync my Outlook, home iCal, and iPhone's iCal all together, each calendar displaying identical information. I want to be able to update and edit my calendar at work, at home, or on the go.
    How can I accomplish this?
    Thank you,
    Kevin

Hmm, I think the reason it works for me is because I went the other way around. I subscribed to my Google calendar from iCal a long time ago, but not my iPhone. When OS 3.0 came out, the Google calendar in iCal got synced into my iPhone as a subscription automatically.
So, you'll likely need to subscribe to your Google calendar within iCal to have it in iCal, and there are very specific instructions how to do that on Google's Calendar support pages.
Once you do that and sync your iPhone, I'm guessing you might end up with a duplicate because of the subscription you've already created on your iPhone. I'm not sure it'll matter which one you delete, but I mention this possibility because I haven't tested out all the possibilities yet.
