Syncing google calendar delegates on itouch

I had been using the gmail calendar and have several calendars on my gmail calendar besides the one attached to my gmail account. I was able to add those calendars to my ical on my apple laptop by creating "delegates." The calendar on my itouch syncs the gmail calendar from the ical on the laptop, but is not picking up the delegates. Any idea about how to get the ical on the itouch to access the "delegates" from my gmail calendar?
Thanks

Similar problem here. I can select the delegate calendars within iCal, but it simply doesn't sync any events for the delegate calendars. I'm also returned an error if I try to manually subscribe to the calendars, e.g. using a direct link from the Google calendar settings.
Either way, I think it's all related to a known block Google have implemented to deal with an iCloud conflict. Keep an eye here for a solution...although it's been several months already obviously:

  • Problems syncing new google calendar delegates to iPhone 3

I got a iPhone 3 a few months ago and had no problem setting up calendar so that all of my google calendar delegates are visible in both iCal and on my iPhone. I haven't had any problems with getting events to update on all of my calendars regardless of which program I use to create/ edit the event, until now. I recently created a new google calendar delegate. I can access the delegate in both iCal and on google but for some reason I can't get the new delegate to sync to my iPhone. I've tried to edit the settings in all of the programs, i've edited events on the new calendar on google on my iPhone, on my computer and on iCal but I still can't get it to show up in calendar on my iPhone. Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

I didn't know it was possible. How do I find an option to subscribe to a new calendar from within the iPhone? I've always subscribed via synching.

  • Sync Google Calendars to iCloud

I am currently running OS X Lion and have activted an iCloud account. I recently purchased an iPhone 4s and have had success syncing my contacts between my MacBook, iPhone and iCloud account. I have also had success syncing my Google Calendar delegates between my MacBook, iPhone and work Mac (running snow Leopard).
The rub is I can't get the calendars to show up in iCloud. I have looked through the limited settings options and can't find anything to help.
Is there anything I can do to get all my devices to show the same calendars?
    Thanks in advance.

While it is true that the individual machines can sync with Google, iCloud cannot directly.
The reality is that while iCloud may be an excellent system for linking Apple products the truth is that Google Apps are available on more platforms.  Just like Apple systems can deal with almost any file system, Apple's iCloud should be able to sync with Google calanders and address book.   Many companies and schools use Google services for shared calendars and resources.  It would sure make sense to provide that as an additional service as well.  It wouldn't be any harder than implementing the sync and delegation methods already implemented in the standalone apps on the platforms.

  • Syncing google calendar with microsoft outlook

    Hi
I just received this email from google regarding the use of google calendar sync software for microsoft outlook:
Important Announcement about Google Calendar Sync
Almost two years ago, we announced that we had ended support for Google Calendar Sync.
    Starting on
1 August 2014, this app will no longer sync events between your Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
You can continue to access all of your Google Calendar events at
    calendar.google.com or
    on your mobile devices. Follow
these instructions to uninstall Google Calendar Sync from your computer.

I need to be able to sync my google calendars to outlook as I use an android phone and use Outlook at my workplace. Does anyone know how to keep on syncing between these two devices?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Do you have an Gmail account configured in Outlook used for mail, contact and calendar managing?
The announcement indicates the Google Calendar Sync can’t be used to sync your Outlook calendar (and contacts) with Gmail. If you don't use Gmail for email but need to sync Outlook Calendar with a smartphone, we can consider to user Outlook.com account to
sync calendar. Here is an reference about sync calendar and contacts using Outlook.com:

If you want to sync Google calendar to Outlook, we can also find any third-party tools to achieve it:

  • Google Calendar Delegates in iCal Not Syncing

    Hello Everyone.
I've been stumped on my issue for some time and have been researching but found nothing.
    OSX: 10.6.8
    iCal: 4.0.4
My boss uses google calendar.  I'm his assistant and he's shared that calendar with me so that I have access to it through my google account and I can add and delete events.
I like using iCal.  So I synced my iCal up with my google Calendar.  I used the calDAV method of syncing.  I can add and delete events to my calendar just fine.  I was able to add and delete events to my boss' calendar by creating a delegate calendar through iCal.  Everything worked fine.  However my boss added another calendar to his google account.  I didn't think this would have any effect on my ability to edit events as I simply set up my boss' new calendar as another delegate in iCal.
The problem now is that I cannot get either of my delegate accounts to sync.
I deleted my calDAV and started from scratch in iCal.  I added my googole account and delegates.  Everything works fine.  All of my boss' events load into my iCal but as soon I I try to edit one of them my delegate will no longer sync.
It seems like this should work and be easy but I cannot find a solution to keep my delegates syncing.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
I also have a mobileMe calDAV that syncs just fine with iCal.
    Thanks!
    -Drew

  • Issues Syncing Google Calendar with Palm Pre 2 WebOs 2.0.1 - Timezones...

I am using Google Calendar to synch my company Outlook to my Palm Pre 2. I note that there are some prior posts on Timezone challenges and have followed the advice provided to no benefit.
All my events are synchronizing  - however any recurring events not local to my timezone are not translating to my local timezone. So events scheduled by colleagues on the US West Coast are entered into my calendar at the time set ignoring the offset to my timezone (8 hours given that I'm in UK).
All events are properly reflected in Google Calendar it's the sync to my Pre which seems to corrupt (or more correctly not translate the time). Interestingly single events created by US colleagues are translated correctly.
Any suggestions as to how I can fix this??

  • Since Jan 1st cannot sync google calendar and iPhone calendar

I had google calendars syncing just fine between iCal on my laptop and iPhone by using Exchange on my iphone. Since the first of the year I can't get one of the calendars to sync. I have a work calendar and personal calendar as well as two shared calendars that belong to others. Since Jan 1st my work calendar will not show up on my iPhone. Even if I add an event on my iPhone it shows up briefly then disapears??? The only thing I changed prior to this issue was adding a shared calendar. My personal calendar has and is still the default. No other settings were changed. Another thing is that on my phone my work calendar keeps unselecting itself so it shows 2 calendars rather than 3.
I went on the exchange settings and turned off everything and turned them back on and made it worse. Now none of my calendar events show up but the two shared calendars do. On google sync settings they are all selected still- both on my computer and iphone.
Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help!

It may be more than this but there is an issue with shared google calendars discussed here: http://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!category-topic/calendar/syncing-my-cal endar/m8zzIAYN9rI

  • TS2481 How do I sync google calendar with Ipad 2 thru the cloud. Used to work, but now I've lost it. Maybe a setting?

What setting do I use on my Ipad 2 and Iphone 3GS to enable google calendar to sync thru Icloud between my 2 devices? Thank you!

    Hey JonC84
Thanks for the question. You can definitely sync your new iPod touch with the local calendar on your computer (you won't need to setup an account like iCloud). The following article may help you achieve this:
iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
    Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks, and Notes
You can sync contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and notes with other applications on your computer. This allows you keep all your information in sync across multiple computers and iOS devices. The settings for these items are all in the Info tab for your iOS device in iTunes. With your iOS device connected to the computer, select your iOS device. Then click the Info tab.
    Calendars
To sync calendars with your computer, choose "Sync Calendars" or "Sync iCal Calendars."
    - When syncing calendars, you can sync all calendars or sync specific calendars.
    - You can limit the data that is synced to only events that have occurred in the last 30 days. The option can be changed to any number of days.
For additional information, see this article (while the article refers to iTunes 11, most steps are applicable for you):

  • How can I sync Google Calendar with my E75?

This is driving me insane. I've searched and searched and searched the web for a way to sync my E75 unlocked phone with Google Calendar. 90% of the threads and comments Google digs up simply say, "It doesn't work." Some people seem to have manged to get it to work with some very minor variations on the following directions:
    1. On the E75, press the Menu key.
    2. Select Email.
    3. Remove the Mail for Exchange mailbox (if it currently exists).
    4. Select New from the home screen of the Email application.
    5. Press Start.
    6. Enter a fictitious email addres that you know does not exist.
    7. Press OK.
    8. Enter a fictitious password for the fictitious email address.
    9. Press OK.
    10. Select Mail for Exchange.
    11. Type in your Gmail username/email address.
    12. Press OK.
    13. Leave the Domain blank.
    14. Press OK.
    15. Type: m.google.com
    16. Press OK twice.
    17. Type in your Gmail password.
    18. Press Log in.
    19. Go to the home screen of the Email application.
    20. Select Settings.
    21. Select Personal information management.
    22. Select Applications.
    23. Select Calendar.
    24. Select Calendar sync (this will enable calendar).
    25. Go to the home screen of the Email application.
    26. Select Settings.
    27. Select Mail for Exchange.
    28. Select What to sync.
    29. Select Sync email (this will disable email).
    30. Select Back three times.
    31. Press Options.
    32. Select Synchronize.
My problem is that my E75 Mail app doesn't have the Mail for Exchange option described in step 10. The rest of the procedure just goes down the tube at that point. After a great deal of research, I'm left with the impression that either something is wrong with my phone or these directions are out of date. Has anyone had recent experience configuring the E75 to work with Google Calendar either through MfE or through another (free) app?

     Hi there,
didn't read your complete rant, it's clear you've disappointed by substandard product and/or mismatching expectations, I on the other hand have had a exceptional good experience with my N95. It's reaching old age now, so I can't wait for the N900. However I do see Nokia has a challenge to overcome, well two actually. Yes you're right they're trying too hard to create some Nokia-bounded platforms, instead of facillitating the connectivity between platforms. Recently saw some intresting concepts in the beta apps, but they require a similar nokia app on the other side. Well I'm very sorry Nokia, nowadays I don't even know the number of the person I'll be calling, do you really believe I know (or want you to tell me = $$?) who of my contacts has this app enabled?  With some good will and some fantasy I could say it's a part of brandpositioning and solidifing (or some other fancy BS ;-) ). Nokia however also seems to have an issue with postdevelopment integration and streamlining of their apps. Developing apps as more or less seperate entities might seem a sensible develment strategy and it probably is when combined with good (read efficient and thus "cheap") projectmanagement.  If a contact has a birthday mentioned in contacts, don't you think I would want to see that in my calendar? If I try to be smart, I give the input myself, but then what happens? When syncing I get 2 birthdays is my outlook calendar ;-( Similar ennoying feat happens with GPS locations, I´m using serach address, use contactlist. Have a guess where I´d like the coordinates to go to when saved....no it´s not a new and seperate entry in favourites which in turn is read by the address book, these things should have seamless integration.  User experience and ultimately satisfaction cannot be achieved by solely developing series of new and improved functionalities,  cause to us,  the consumer it´s not primarily a functionality. It´s actually a person, either in direct communication or otherwise stored for future communication. As a producer of these communication devices Nokia should show they understand this, preferably through their products. Regarding your issue syncing with Google Calendar, I'm assuming you're already using the calendar. Why not download the Google apps app? Or if you only want the calendar, take the standalone calendar app, Basically you'll have a mobilized calendar view with most of the functionalities there. Can't be online indefinetly? Just save the page locally, nothing you can't handle ;-) The solutions with either MfE reconfig or syncing with outllook/windows calendar in the middle are feasible too, however you do need to be carefull when setting direction and/or dominance of the sync relation. Multipoint syncing can become a severe headache if you haven't set it up proparly..... I've also included a google info mail, they send me some time ago. Loads of info&links, I'm sure there's a solution there which will fit your needs

  • Synced Google Calendar with Ipod Calendar, but what about the other way?

    Hello everyone,
I have a ton of appointments on my Ipod Touch calendar.  I decided to sync them with a brand new empty Google calendar.  I followed these steps I found on the web to add the Google calendar to the Ipod Touch:
Open the Settings application on your device's home screen.
    Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select Add Account...
    Select Other.
    Select Add CalDAV Account.
    Enter your account information:
In the Server field, enter [ google.com ]
In the Username field, enter your full Google Account or Google Apps email address.
In the Password field, enter your Google Account or Google Apps password.
In the Description field, enter the name you'd like to appear on the account.
Select Next at the top of your screen.
After you've completed setup, open the Calendar app on your device and syncing will automatically begin.
Now since that was done, new entries I add in Google Calendar show up on the Ipod Touch, but not the other way around.  Is there a setting option I missed?  I need to pre-populate Google from the Ipod first I asume.Thanks.

Unfortunately, the only solutions available require Outlook in order to work... The best, and the one I've decided on using, is SyncMyCal.com. There is a free version available that requires you to sync manually, but once you sync events into Outlook, you can sync them to your iPod touch.
With the 1.1.2 update for the iPod touch, which enables you to directly add events on it... you can set SyncMyCal to also publish events back to your Google Calendar.
I really wish this functionality was built in directly.
iTunes already supports syncing with Yahoo! Address Book... Considering how close Apple has been with Google as of late, it's hard to believe some sort of syncing plugin for gApps hasn't been introduced yet.

  • Severe bug when syncing Google Calendars to iOS 6.x devices

Just posted this to Apple Support:
Error: Recurring events appear multiple (ie several hundred) times on the iOS 6 device until eventually all free memory of the device is eaten up and it stops working.
Device: Any iDevice with iOS 6.x (6.0 and 6.01). iOS 5.x not affected.
Software: iOS Calendar app synced with Google Calendar (either as part of a synced GMail account or individually as CardDAV account). Google Calendar (either GMail or Google Apps account) with subscribed Birthdays and Anniversaries Calendar (i.e. calendar showing birthdays and anniversaries from all contacts stored in Google Contacts). "Ordinary" calendar events, including repeating / annual events entered manually in the calendar, fo not cause the bug.
The bug *may* affect other types of calendars, but as I do not use any, I did not check (e.g. iCloud, Yahoo, etc.).
Symptom: Recurring events (from the Birthday Calendar only) appear multiple times in the iOS calendar app. They do not show the colored dot next to them indicating the calendar they belong to until the event is opened in iOS Calendar. Disabling the respective calendar in Mail&Calendar settings does not always remove these calendar entries. Eventually, calendar entries are multiplied so many times that all the iOS device's memory is eaten up (i.e. several gigabytes) until an Out of memory error message appears. Sometimes memory apparently gets so corrupted that the device cannot be synced with iTunes any more and has to be reset to factory state.
It is yet unclear what causes the multiplication of events, as often the events are shown only twice or a few times for extended periods of time and only days later they multiply to the hundreds. The actual calendar on google.com remains unaffected.
Remedy: None (other than stop syncing the calendar).
Bug Status: I was able to recreate the bug with different GMail and Google Apps accounts on my iPhone 3GS and iPhone 5 as well as several iPad mini's in the local Apple Store.
Extensively discussed the bug with Apple Care (Germany). Apple Care could not help as they cannot use non-Apple products, in particular have no access to GMail accounts and therefore cannot recreate the bug.

I have same issues on two different iPad 4's.
However for me it's the calendar showing duplicate entries from the "US holiday" calendar I'm subscribed too.  The odd thing about this bug, is the issue comes and goes if I disable/renable calendars randomly.
At the moment the only work around I have (and I'm not sure it's permanent) is I have had to leave the local Apple "Birthdays" calendar disabled.  When it's disabled it doesn't show dupicate "US holidays".
However when the issue is present.  Hitting refresh will create even more duplicates every time I click it!  I've had my ipad4 for three days, I was hoping it would take longer than this to find any major bugs.
Seems like they are not interpreting some data correctly and assuming it's new.  Also of note sometimes when I hit refresh some calndars wouldn't show.  Sometimes they would.
I hope they fix this.  It makes the calendar app pretty useless for me.

  • Syncing google calendar to iPhone 5?

I've got an interesting dilemma when it comes to syncing my google calendars. On my iPhone's calendar in the top left hand corner under "calendars" both of my google calendars show up as options but only one of them actually displays events in my iPhone's calendar. The other one (which is a shared calendar, and also my default Google calendar), when selected, will not display any of the events associated with that calendar in my iPhone's calendar. I found this link --> https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect <-- which most people said did the trick. The trouble is the calendar I'm having issues with isn't listed on this page with a check box next to it. I can't figure why if it's available as an option for my iPhone's calendar to display it, none of the events will show up. Fixing this issue would be largely helpful for me. I also have a third party app called "Week Cal" which has the same issue (shows up as an option but when selected no events show up within the calendar).

  • Iphone 5.1 not syncing google calendar updates

Google Sync sync's to my outlook & phone/ipad with no trouble however it does not sync calendar changes. Google calendar takes the changes but it's not making it over to my phone. I've uninstalled google sync to no avail. I don't use icloud calendar because it doesn't do reminders & calendar reminders correctly for me. Any ideas?
