Syncing iCal calendar todos with Mobile Me todos

Hi
I am using 10.5.8.
Omnifocus will only sync my todos with the iCal calendar on my Mac.
I use and sync events with Mobile Me.
Is there anyway I can sync the iCal Calendar todos on my local mac with one of my MobleMe calendars?
Thanks
Gus

This will be no consolation. But I'm having the same problem. For me the issue began when I signed up for the MobileMe iCal beta (at least I think that's the culprit).
I was no longer able to sync iCal to the MobileMe server after the update (and I kept getting an error message in iCal). I downgraded back to the "regular" MobileMe iCal and got the iCal on my iMac up and running again.
However, now I don't seem to be able to sync my iPhone with Mobile me. I've turned it off from settings and turned it back on, but it's not working.

  • Why is syncing ical not working with mobile me?

I have been having 2 macbook pros and a new imac sync ical, mail and address book.  The imac is on Lion, the laptops are 10.6.8.  They were syncing fine until a week or so ago.  Is this because the 2 are not Lion?  I am using mobileme, not yet switched to the cloud, mostly because not sure I want to use my 2 other uses of Lion on older laptops.  And I will have ot upgrade some software on them.  I need this calendar info to sync regularly!

Thank you for your interest in Adobe Flash Player. Unfortunately Apple does not allow Flash Player to be installed on iPhone or iPad.
May I add, this is the answer I get When I try to Download Adobe Flash Player
You get the message because that is exactly the situation. Apple has not allowed any Flash on iOS devices.
What site are you trying to see? Many sites now provide Flash alternatives. For example, if you want to listen to Pandora, instead of using the Flash on the Pandora website, instead you download the Pandora app for the iPad.
In the future, even if Apple wants to add Flash to the iPad, it won't be able to because Adobe will no longer be making it at all, for any mobile device:

If you often go to sites that use a lot of Flash and they don't have an alternative, you should write to them and tell them to stop using Flash.

Can I sync iCal calendars from two iMac's together?

No you cannot sync an iPhoto library between two macs. If you do you will corrupt the iPhoto Library file. iPhoto is a consumer level app, and this feature is not supported.
What you can do is share the photos but not the library. Each machine will need to have it's own library file.
The easiest way to do it this is to enable sharing (in the iPhoto Preferences) on both machines (one sharing the library, the other looking for the share). When you do this the shared library will appear in the Source (or left-hand) pane and pics can be dragged from that to the library in the other machine.

If your wireless environment is less than ideal, as it is in most inhabited areas, the influence of other wireless networks and devices competing for the same very small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum will affect your network's performance. Your own wireless network is a microcosm of that environment.
To mitigate the effects of competing wireless networks, use 5 GHz to the maximum practicable extent. It is comparatively free from interference contributed by other wireless devices and is likely to remain that way for some time. However, it is less tolerant of intervening obstructions and construction materials than the 2.4 GHz spectrum, so it's not a panacea. Every installation is different so you must experiment to determine the optimum configuration.
Place your wireless router (what kind is it?) in a central location, convenient to all the devices that require it. Most of the time a utility or ISP will locate it in some remote corner next to the utility service entrance. That is almost always the worst possible location.
Others find that only a direct wired Ethernet connection between router and devices will maintain uninterrupted access to Airplay.
That is almost certain to result in the best possible AirPlay performance. Short of having everything hard wired (it's not an option for the iPad for example) use an Ethernet connection for all the devices that lend themselves to that method. Your AppleTV is certainly one of them, since its location is not likely to change very often. Your AirPort Express should be another, since your audio systems are likely to stay put as well. Connect them both to your existing router, either directly or through an inexpensive Ethernet switch. Your problems are likely to be solved with just those two connections.

  • Syncing iCal calendars without .Mac

My wife has two computers, desktop and laptop. She would like to be able to sync her calendars, one from each machine. Is this possible without .Mac membership. If so, could someone please tell me how it's done?
I do have a .Mac membership. Is it legal for her to publish her calendars to my .Mac and then subscribe to them so they'd show up on her two machines.
Any help at all with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Martin
Intel iMac Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Martin,
Try iSynCal: iSynCal is built to synchronize events and todo from iCal calendars between two or more Mac computers using the standard Apple File Sharing shipped with Mac OSX. Using iSynCal, you no longer need a .Mac account neither to publish your calendars on an external FTP or WebDav server.
You can even use iSynCal to sync your iCal calendars with your iPod or between multiple users on the same Mac.Regarding your second question, legality is not the issue, since the .Mac account belongs to your username, only you can publish calendars to that account.
    ;~)

  • Letting two users share one synced iCal Calendar

    Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to share a single iCal calendar between two users, giving both users the ability to make changes to the calendar. Is this possible with Apple's iCal?
As an example, say I'd like to create a calendar for a trip itnerary. I'm in New York and my host ("Sara") is in San Francisco. I open my iCal, select the "Itinerary" calendar and enter a few events into it. Then, Sara opens her iCal and it automatically loads the "Itinerary" calendar, showing the events I've entered. Knowing San Francisco better than I do, she decides to alter my "Explore Chinatown" entry by extending the hours. The next time I open my iCal, I see the changes Sara made in the "Itinerary" calendar.
I'm sure this has probably been asked before, but even though I searched for it I couldn't find information answering this question. If you can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance!

      Mac OS X (10.4.3)   iCal Version 2.0.3

If I understand .Mac's services correctly, it
features the ability to let users subscribe to a
calendar, that is read another person's published
calendar, but NOT to make changes on that calendar
and then send these changes back to the publisher,
transparently. Unless I'm mistaken in this regard,
.Mac does not provide a means to let two users share
a single iCal calendar which they can BOTH make
changes to and BOTH keep synced with the other user's
    calendar.
    yes it does!!!!!!!!
simply log into the single .mac account from any number of computers and use isync. We do this every day between our office & home computers. The calenders in ical are idendical on both. Any alteration can be synced to .mac and the other computer will pick up the change next time it is synced. If there is a conflict, isync will ask which version (either .mac or the computer being synced) to use.
I think that you are confusing publishing calenders and syncing them
However, even if that can be done with .Mac (and if
it can, I'd love to learn how), I require a solution
that doesn't utilitze .Mac because in my particular
situation, the other user with whom I want to share
calendars does not have a .Mac subscription and will
not be able to get one.
The other user does not need a .mac account. The whole point is that they are syncing to the one (ie your) account.
    Therefore, I need a solution
that does not rely on .Mac.
Wrong. It would seem that .mac would work.
The only problem is that all the calenders in ical will sync.

  • Best way to sync iCal and Contacts with MS Outlook?

There are three people in my firm and we want to have a "cloud" calendar and address book that syncs our laptops and mobile devices.  Plaxo Platinum is the closest I can find.  However, it does not sync with mobile devices.  Thank you!  Steve

iTunes serves as the sync conduit for contact information, calendar events, bookmarks, and for photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone.
    iTunes is required for this.
Outlook includes an option to forward all contacts as separate vCard attachments with an email message.
Send the message to an email address that you access with an email client on your Mac.
Save the received vCard attachments to a created folder on your Desktop, and then use the Address Book import feature to import the vCards.

  • Sync iCal on laptop with Snow Leopard rather than Lion

My netwok has both Lion and Snow Leopard computers. I used to sync iCal using MobileMe but have moved the Lion machines to iCloud. I would like to continue syncing my iCal to the Snow Leopard machine. Is this possible and if so how do I do it?

You need to copy the Domain.sites2 file (iWeb 3) that's in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder on the SL Mac to the same folder on your iMac.
In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder. Then you'll be able to easily find that folder and move the domain file into it.  WARNING: Be sure that the domain file has a different name than the one currently there so you don't overwrite it.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • Syncing iCal on iMac with iCal on iPod Touch

When I manually sync my iCal on iMac and iPod Touch, the all-day events on my iMac are not transferred to my iPod Touch. Any suggestions how to fix this?

    Try this....
NOTE: the next steps will delete your existing iPod Touch calendar, contacts, and mail settings, but you can re-sync them again from your computer (assuming they are in there).
    1. on the iPod Touch go to settings>mail, contacts, calenders
    2. select your MobileMe account (not the email account the actual MobileMe account (should be the one under your .me account)
    3. turn off everything you don't want to sync (everything, right?)
    4. re-connect to iTunes and you will be able to sync without MobileMe
    5. You will now be able to re-sync your calendar, contacts, mail settings via iTunes as per usual manual sync. You may want to also, for this sync only, check replace contacts, calender and mail settings just to be sure.
    6. Once you sync, you are back to normal. Now go back into your iPod Touch and delete the MobileMe account altogether. (settings>mail, contacts, calendars>select account>delete account)

  • Sync iCal's TODO with iPhone

Will this come true in iPhone 3.0?
Anybody experienced this feature in the beta version of iPhone 3.0 firmware?

It is hard to believe that there is no synchronisation of iCal ToDoList with the iPhone at the moment.
However there are at least two programmes that can do the job. I tested them both in a presales version.
MissingSync (€40, http://www.markspace.com/iphone/mac/) works via WiFi, I knew the program from my PalmTX synchronisations, which were performed via USB. But the iPhone version did not work. Always when I tried to sync I was thrown out of my WiFi by the iPhone. Simply the WiFi symbol of my iPhone was exchanged against the 3G Symbol. It is not very likely that it was due to my WiFi, because other WiFi applications as FileMagnet did work. However out of 50 tries I managed only two synchronisations. That was pity, because I liked MissingSync a lot from the time of my Palm synchronisations.
Things (€48, http://culturedcode.com/) however worked well. But you need both the Mac and the iPhone version. But the synchronisation works only if the Mac and the iPhone are within the same WiFi network at the same time. I would have preferred the cable instead.
    Best regards.

  • Struggling to sync iCal on macbook with my iphone via mobile me or web

I have an iPhone which I would like to merge Calendars with the Calendars on iCal on my Macbook. I'm none too fussed whether I update my mobile me account as the whole point is to be able to update work appointments/shifts which will then automatically be available on my macbook when I get home. Or, conversely I would like to update family stuff on my macbook and then access dates etc whilst on the move. I've followed a lot of steps from a lot of questions so far but all to no avail.
    And breath....
    Can you help?
    Cheers

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • HT2513 Older iCal calendars (used with MobileMe) now won't sync with iCloud without creating duplicates. How do I sync to my other devices without iCloud?

I've been using iCal for years for my business and have over 15 calendars on it (to color coordinate projects) and used to sync them with MobileMe.  Now that I've upgraded my mac and have Mountain Lion and can only use iCloud to sync Address Book, Notes etc - iCloud doesnt even acknowledge my 15+ calendars unless they are DUPLICATED.
I've turned OFF iCloud and tried to sync via iTunes telling it to sync to iphone/ipad from "Calendar on this Mac" - but it sees nothing.  My device Calendars are blank (iCloud off on them too).
    HELP!!!

I share a similar situation (usb iTunes sync with Outlook with my corporate laptop; personal calendar on icloud).
With IOS7, at first, iTunes/Windows does not propose Outlook sync anymore. I need to switch off calendar from iTunes to enable usual usb sync with Outlook. I had to sync it twice while checking "replace iphone data" to get a stable behaviour (like before) IOS7.When I try to re-enable icloud calendars, it proposes me to merge them...
I did not test merging so far...
IOS7 and iTunes 11.1 are not completely polished ;-)

  • Is it possible to sync multiple mobileme accounts onto the iphone, syncing ical calendars for these multiple mobile me accounts ?

I am trying to sync two mobileme accounts into my iphone and each account have different calendars ( all being with ical NOT CALDAV).
Now, my question is can I sync these different calendars, belonging to different mobileme accounts, into the iphone? please assist me on this matter.
Basically i want to have a work calendar  to share with my colleagues and a personal calendar to share just with my friends and family.

You are correct.  This used to work in the past although admittedly I haven't tried it for some time as it was of no direct use for my purposes.
If the goal is to see another MobileMe account's calendar(s) on your iOS device then an alternative would be to share the calendar(s) in question to yourself.
    Example:
Assume you currently have MobileMe user account A on your iPhone.
Login to MM user account B with me.com which has the calendar you wish to have access to on your iPhone
    Click on Calendars
Click on the Share button for the calendar you wish to see added to your iPhone.
Type in the MobileMe email address for MM user account A and set it for read & write access
Login to MM user account A on me.com
Go to calendars and accept the invitation to join the calendar you sent from MM account B
Go your iPhone (you may need to turn it on and off to make the calendars refresh ) and check your calendars, you should now have the other calendars added to your MobileMe account A's calendar
Note: You can repeat step # 3 for each of the calendars you wish to see on your iPhone.

Vlingo doesn't consume all the app memory space itself... it can be used by a number of factors, including the browser cache.
Your unintall of Vlingo also caused a reboot of the device in which all the free memory space was cleared, from routine use of the BB device.
