Syncing info from calendar - transfers in black even though font is in color  Sometimes in color even though in black on PC  Need clarity on why?

When syncing info from  Outlook calendar for notes, the print transfers in black (in most cases).   Assume this to be normal   However,  sometimes info transfers in blue when it was copied from an email and pasted  to Outlook notes.   Also have added color to ome of the typing in notes and that does not seem to sync over to iPhone in color.   Is there explanation for how to make what is in the Outlook notes look exactly the same (at least colorwise) on the iPhone note?

Hi monkplayer,
It looks like your problem is solved? There wasn't a problem with the printer itself, just the printer settings on your Mac?
This is good information though. We don't always have detailed solutions for customers that are using Safari, since it is hard to write instructions for the general public with specific steps for each operating system.
Best of luck,

I have 0 contacts & 0 calendar events on my gmail account. I opened the Gmail account specifically to for the Google Sync and wil only be using this account as a back-up for my IPhone contacts. You do realize that the SIM only contains account information for your wireless account.
Moving the SIM from phone to phone does not cause any of your iTunes content, contacts, email, etc to magically appear on the device.

  • HT1296 Can I sync info from my iPhone to my iPad befor I reset my iPhone

    No.
If you aren't syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, and/or not syncing contacts over the air with an email account on your iPhone that supports this with a number of accounts that do which are free including a free Apple iCloud account, and your iPhone's backup is not being done wirelessly with a free Apple iCloud account and you don't have a backup for your iPhone on a computer, your contacts will be lost.

  • Syncing info from 1 computer and music on another computer

Can you sync different items from 2 different computers?
For example, I want to sync music from my home computer, and info (ie., contacts, calendars, etc) from my work computer.

    Yes.
Make sure that automatic syncing is not on, then select only the items that you want to sync on each computer.

  • Syncing info from Centro to Mac OS X snow leopard

I went from a PC to a Mac ("snow leopard") recently and found that the Palm does not support the Mac with its hot-syncing system for my Centro.  How do I get my address info and calendar onto my Mac without typing them all in by hand?  I looked into the two third-party systems that were supposed to do this, but found them to be inefficient for my purposes. Any suggestions out there? Thanks!
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

I just switched to a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard also. I read that the Palm Desktop was not comp with SL. I purchased The Missing Sync from Mark/Space and it is working fine. I did loose the ability to use certain programs such as Pocket Quicken but overall, it works well.
    Good Luck

  • Inconsistences in sync info for Calendars

I keep getting a "database reset alert" saying " Inconsistencies in your sync inforamtion for Calendars were detected and have been repaired." This window pops up every few minutes now, presumably when iCal refreshes, though I'm not sure.
How do I get it to stop?
    The ? button reads
    Inconsistencies in your sync information
Under rare circumstances your sync information on one computer may become damaged and need to be resynchronized to correct inconsistencies.
After the inconsistencies have been repaired, your next sync may take a little longer that you expect. This is because the computer has to do an initial sync, comparing each record on your computer with records located on other computers or devices.

This generally means pretty much what it says: that you must replace the data stored on your computer with data stored on the .Mac servers.
    But, here is the issue…
.Mac Sync has not worked properly for many, if not most, users for almost two weeks not. This is not a great time to be attempting to correct this problem, and I would not attempt to replace the calendar data on your machine with that from .Mac until the ongoing 'maintenance' is completed. You run a serious risk of failing to correct the problem under present circumstances.
Check the face page of .Mac to determine when the amber Sync LED in the lower left sidebar has changed to green, indicating a restoration of normal service. You can also browse the .Mac Sync forum to determine the status of .Mac synchronization services.

  • I can no longer properly sync info from iPod to iTunes.  Did iTunes change?

I have always been able to sync my iPod to iTunes.  It updated number of plays, date last played, ratings, etc. from the iPod to iTunes.
I can no longer do this.  I was on the phone with Apple Support for over an hour...kept getting put on hold while the technician searched for answers...and finally a "senior advisor" told me that it's impossible for information like this to be transferred from the iPod to iTunes.  They're on "different" counting systems.  This is amazing to me, because it's worked beautifully for years, but now this won't work.  Information will transfer from iTunes to iPod, but not from iPod to iTunes.
    I don't understand what happened.

The "expert" is wrong, partially.  You must be using automatic syncing in order for iTunes to keep the "supporting data" (such as ratings and playcount) in sync.  With automatic syncing, it is iTunes's  "job" to keep the iTunes library on the computer "in sync" with the library on the iPod.  You tell iTunes to replicate either the entire iTunes library on the iPod (if it will fit) or a defined subset of the iTunes library on iPod, and iTunes keeps all data for that media content in sync between iTunes library and iPod.
However, if you use the manual method to load content (drag and drop items on the iPod in iTunes), with the Manually manage music (and videos) setting on the iPod's Summary screen, THEN the iTunes library on the Mac is separate from the library on the iPod.  iTunes just loads the media files on the iPod and then "forgets" about it.  You can delete songs on the computer, and they stay on the iPod because iTunes doesn't care.  In this case, iTunes also does not care about the supporting data, so things like ratings and playcount are not synced back to the Mac.  Afterall, that song on the iPod may not even exist in the iTunes library anymore.  It's possible that NONE of the song on the iPod are in the computer's iTunes library.

  • N9 Exchange Sync - Info from GAL overrides fields ...

    Hi
I have enabled the both Contacts and Global Address List sync in MFE settings, since I want to sync my Contacts to Exchange and on the other hand access the GAL from my phone. Conflict resolving is set to "Priority given to device"
What happens is that if same person that have entry in my contacts is found also in GAL (I don't know how this is recognized by name or email address?) the information from GAL get synced to my contacts and will be added on that entry in personal contacts. For example our GAL have phone numbers without country prefix and my contacts have them. Now the contact entry will have the phone number twice, with and without prefix.
How can I disable this or change it so that device is really the master and information is not overriden by GAL info. Is this N9 feature or server feature?
I have tried to disable the global address list sync on the device and that resolves this, but then I can not access the GAL.

    Hi SyedSF,
From your problem description, it seems that you have a permission problem here. Maybe you have had Address List Segregation configured in Exchange 2003 and that is not supported in Exchange 2010.
I recommend you to use ADSIEdit to check the permissions on "All Address Lists", "All Global Address Lists" and "Offline Address Lists". Include inherited permissions should be checked and "Authenticated Users" should have the permissions read and "Open
    address list".

  • Trying to sync info from outlook to new imac / iphone

I just bought an imac and an iphone. All of my information if currently on Outlook on my PC. How do I export it? Do I have to firsts sync with iphone and then sync iphone with imac? Ideas???

You can sync the info first to your iphone and then to your mac.
If you do it this way, make sure that address book on your mac has at least one contact in it.
Also, make sure ical has at least one event in it.
This way itunes will ask if you would like to merge the data.
Or, you can export your contacts as vcards and your calendar as an ics file.
Then move those files to your mac via burnt disk or network.
Then you can import them into address book and ical.
    Hope this helps.

  • If my iphone, ipad, MAC and macbook pro are all linked, and then I upgrade only my phone to iOS 7.0, does that have an effect on my calendar, etc.  It doesn't seem to be showing the same data it was before the update.  Lost lot of info from calendar.

If my iphone, ipad, MAC and macbook pro are all linked, and then I upgrade only my ipone to IOS 7.0, does that have an effect on the linking to my other MAC products.  It seems my calendar has lost a lot of information since the upgrade.

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.
    Regards.

  • Newly installed Centro (from Treo) and cannot sync info from old Treo

I just bought a new unlocked Centro and had a Palm Treo before that.  I just installed the Palm Desktop for the Centro but after I synced there are none of my old files from the Treo to my Centro.
    Please advise.
    Thanks!
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

Unfortunately we are at a bad place palm desktop 6.2 is not going to be able to read those files that are in the handspring folder because of the file structure and the way things are set up in the new version of palm desktop as in. If you look at your data files before it was address.dat now it is address.mdb. Just renaming the files and moving them won't remedy the problem just make things worst. So we have a few things we can do however, both could be time consuming depending on your data and how much you have.
So first thing is first and will probably be the simplest your Treo do you still have it and is the data still on it? If so you can just beam all yoru data from the device over to the Centro.
If it is not post back and we can go through uninstalling palm desktop 6.2 reinstalling the older version, backing up your data, uninstalling the older version, reinstalling the new version, importing your data then syncing.

  • Where does Computer save synced info from Iphone

I synced up my iphone about a week ago and now I'm trying to find some of that information in my computer. I can' seem to find any of the calendar events, contacts, or notes. This computer also has 2 iphones synced to it, could that be the problem?

Calendar events should be in iCal, Contacts in Address Book, Notes I think in email (but I'm not sure).

  • Sync calendar info from phone to my new MacBook Pro.

I am trying to sync info from my iphone to my new Mac computer. Each time I sync it wipes all calendar dates off my phone and replaces with calendar info from computer. I have chosen merge each time it does not help. My original computer was a Dell and i used outlook orignally.

Contact their tech support department since it's their product, not Apple's.  Did you read the user manual?  You make no mention of doing so.

  • Once I have synced my Google calendar to iCal, can I turn off syncing and save all info in iCal?

I have been using Google Calendar, and syncing info from it to my Mac, iPad and iPhone. Now that all the info I originally entered into Google Calendar is on my Apple devices, can I turn off syncing it and save all the events, birthdays, etc. that were put into iCal up to this point? I have only been adding to my iCal via the Mac, iPad or iPhone for several months now, so it seems silly to keep using Google Calendar.

Unless you have backed up your iCal data, there is no way to retrieve the now missing data. To easily back up your calendar data, simply choose the Back up Database… option under the File menu in iCal.
Microsoft cautions users that deletion of the Entourage calendar in iCal—without first disabling the synchronization function with Entourage—will result in exactly the outcome you see.
If you have not subsequently synchronized with .Mac since you deleted the iCal calendar, you can selectively restore calendar files as a collection of calendars from .Mac by using the Reset Sync Data… option in the .Mac preference pane by launching System Preferences, pressing the .Mac icon then the Advanced tab, and waiting for your client list to update. Once you've done that, press the Reset Sync Data… button, choose Calendars from the drop down menu and pick the option to replace the data on your Macintosh with data stored on the .Mac servers.
