Syncing Ipad 3 after deleting songs

Hey,
I want to erase a bunch of songs off my Ipad.  When I go and sync the ipad again with my main computers Itunes will it delete them on the main computer as well?

Many times, one of these things will resolve this issue. Not always, but they have worked for others in the past.
1. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
2. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
3. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
4. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
5. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • How do i get my ipad to stop deleting songs

MY ipad keeps deleting songs what can i do to make it quit?

The iPad does not delete songs on its own. Are you using iTunes Match? There has to be more to this that you haven't shared. Under what circumstances do those sons disappear?

  • My iPad 3 started deleting songs last night when ever we went to play them. Please help.

Last night I had difficulty syncing my iPad to my laptop. I had purchased some new music on my laptop and wanted to pull them over to my iPad for listening.
I couldn't ever get it to start Step 5 of 5 - just kept spinning.
I gave up and we just went to play some other other music from the iPad and whenever we hit a selection it automatically deleted the whole album - one song at a time. Some other characteristics I noticed... There were small red square blocks on the right side of the song list (one at each song by the song's time length - ex. + 4:32 with the + being the red box) I've never seen these little red boxes before. Once they appeared I soon learned that my song would disappear quickly after. I stopped trying to play music after the third attempt (meaning 3rd album mysteriously deleting song-by-song in front of our eyes).
What in the world is going on?
I'm ready to be embarrassed and discover I've done something to cause this - I'm even okay with providing laughter to others at my silly, iPad ignorant actions. I just want my music world to stop leaving me.
    Thanks

I was going to check up on my iPAD today to see how it was (today makes it a week since it all started). I've decided to wait one more week instead.

  • Use iPhone/iPad to Permanently Delete Songs from iCloud/iTunes Match

I have iCloud and iTunes Match, but I am doing my annual "spring cleaning" (yes, I know it's winter) of songs I don't really listen to or want to keep anymore. I want to delete them permanently from iCloud/iTunes Match. I used to do this in iTunes on a computer. I would delete them from the Song list and it would prompt me with a question to the effect of "Do you want to delete these from iCloud as well?"
Well, I am operating solely on an iPhone and an iPad now. I don't have a computer anymore. So I don't have iTunes software anymore and thus don't have this means of deleting songs from iCloud. I don't know how to delete songs from iCloud USING my mobile device. If I delete a song from a playlist or from the device itself, it is still out there in iCloud and still shows up in the list of songs at my disposal. I DON'T want to cheat the system and turn off the settings feature that "shows all music" in iCloud because then I won't be able to see anything I have at my disposal in iCloud. I want to be able to see my songs in iCloud, but I want to be able to permanently delete from said iCloud songs that I don't care about anymore.
So how do I do it from iOS devices?
Please don't tell me it can't be done without iTunes on a computer. That will just irritate me and drive another nail in the coffin of my growing frustration with Apple.

I honestly don't think you can do it. Nothing I've found online allows you to do this, which is awful because these songs still show up and play when on shuffle. I've even selected "only show me music on this device" and I still see some songs I've deleted and are only on icloud and I have no option to swipe and delete. I'm with you... forcing me to do this on my pc when every other need for syncing has since been removed is very annoying.

  • Cannot free up space on my nano after deleting songs

After I manually deleted songs or playlists from my nano thru itunes,
I still cannot free up space which the deleted songs/playlists
used to hold up. Why does this happened? How can I free up more space
    after deleting the songs/playists?

The amount of space each song takes up depends on the recording quality.
You don't have to delete songs - simply uncheck them (as long as "Sync only checked songs and videos" is selected on the iTunes summary page).   That way, you can uncheck a bunch of songs without losing them.
Re-sync to have the unchecked songs deleted.   If you still have more room, them re-check them to add them back.

  • When i sync music on ipod deleted song stay on songs list

When I sync music with iTunes on my ipod deleted songs stay on song list and cannt be deleted.

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs?

  • Syncing ipad resulted in deleting almost all aps, movies and music !

yesterday i wanted to sync my ipad (before upgrading my ipad to ios4) but my computer didn't recognize my ipad anymore. By means of online help i found that restarting the ipodservice (service running in the background on my XP computer) and a computer restart may resolve the problem, and it did! the ipad was recognized again and signaled that there were items that were not yet synced on my ipad. my previous syncs worked quite well and itunes is set at syncing all apps, some music and some photos.
However after i pressed sync in itunes, he started to sync AND DELETE almost all (75% of them, even ibooks) my apps i had on my ipad, including all movies, podcasts and music!!! I'm now left with some (seems random) apps and photos and no way to get them back as itunes also has the same set of apps (wonder how this happened!) unless by reinstalling them all again from the apple store (supposed i even know which apps are gone...).
Huge disappointment: i thougt my ipad was reliable, itunes for sure is NOT !!!

I encountered a similar problem, I was trying to copy some videos and one specific file wouldn't copy, it was arriving on the iPad with 0 bytes.
Here's some things I did... Eventually I got it on there:
Make sure the video file is successfully imported into iTunes (Can you play it from within iTunes?). It may be that the original file has moved and so it cannot be found - or did not import properly.
Try renaming the file to something shorter then reimporting to iTunes - this helps if it gets mixed up about the state of a specific file - as it effectively treats it as a new file.
Make sure there is enough space on the iPad (look at the size bar within iTunes before you sync). I had to delete a couple of other movies to make room.
After doing all these steps (especially the second one), for me I was able to get it synced successfully.
    Good luck!

  • Numbers in ipad crashes after deleting a file

when i try to delete a file from my numbers on ipad it crashes and i am forced to reset the engine. the app is updated. i reinstalled it. no result.

Apple’s iWork Team investigated the problem and subsequently asked me to check Accessibility settings and turn “Bold Text” OFF if it was set to ON. It was set to ON in my case. Turning “Bold Text” OFF fixed the problem. My iPad3 no longer freezes when deleting or renaming documents and spreadsheets.
Here’s how to do this if you want to give it a try:  Open the “Settings” app. Select “General” tab if it isn’t already selected. Open “Accessibility” page. The “Bold Text” option is ON if its switch is green. Turning it OFF will reset the iPad. Let us know if this works for you.

  • Syncing doesn't remove deleted songs

I'm using an iPod classic, and I have recently cleaned out some old music that I no longer want on my iPod. I deleted it all out of iTunes, but when the iPod synced, though it gave me an error about how the music could not be found (for some tracks which I had deleted from folders, but forgotten to get out of iTunes) NONE of the deleted music had been removed from the iPod.
Why is this, and how can I get it to remove the music when it syncs? I've never had this issue before on any other iPod I had.

If iTunes still has the libary entries, but can't find the files, that is what will happen. If you really don't want the music, make sure to delete the iTunes library entry too.

  • HT1849 After I delete songs manually from my iPhone 5s, when I try to pick a song, it will not chose that song but some song above it.  How far up depends on how many I've deleted.  How can I stop this so I can pick the correct song the first time?

After deleting songs manually from my phone, (say, I have a song on there twice and only want one or I realize I don't want a song on my iPhone) when I try to manually pick a song in the music app on my phone, the song that plays will be one that is a number of songs above the one I chose.  If I delete a number of songs, it may be four or five songs above the one I want to play.  It continues after I sync it in iTunes.  How do I stop this?  Thanks,  Gregg

    Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.
    Cheers,

  • Deleted songs on my iPod by sync with new Mac - ups! Can I sync with iPad to get all song back?

deleted songs on my iPod when sync with new Mac - ups! However all songs are still on my iPad library. Can I sync with iPad to get all song back?

You can use the transfer purchases feature to put the songs back into iTunes from the iPad - as long as the songs were purchased from iTunes.
Connect the iPad, launch iTunes and then right click on the iPad name under devices and select Transfer Purchases. But ..... Before you do that - turn off auto sync first.
Launch iTunes and the go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing Automatically. Check the box at the bottom that says that. Then click OK. Then you can connect the iPad to the new Mac to transfer the purchases.
This will only work for music purchased from iTunes. If you have music ripped from CD's, you will need a third party app - like TouchCopy.
You can also download the songs again in iTunes as long as you use the same Apple ID. But read this about downloading past purchases as there are some restrictions based on where you live.

Read the User Tip that razmee209 linked for you in the post above. If nothing in there works, there May be something on your iPad that is corrupt. Backup the iPad, restore to factory settings, and them restore the backup. If that doesn't fix it, restore as new and download all of your purchased content again.

  • Match to delete songs from iPad???

Just subscribed to Match. Ready to enable it on my iPad. It tells me all previous music will be removed from my iPad. But the Cloud will do me no good on the road without cell service. Does Match really require me to have no local songs on the iPad???

No, you can enable iTunes Match and also store songs locally. In fact, when you stream a song on the iPad, it actually doesn't "stream" it, but it actually stores the song locally once it has been downloaded so you can listen to it again or in the future without having to download it again.
If you want, you can download a whole bunch of songs so they are stored locally rather than "streamed" by hitting the download button for each song.
Or, if you want all of the songs to be stored locally on your iPad and still have iTunes Match enabled, you can disable iTunes Match on the iPad then sync your iPad with your computer. Then go back and enable iTunes Match on your iPad. It will warn you that all your music will be replaced by those of in iTunes Match. This is true, but it doesn't delete any songs if the songs in iTunes Match are the same ones already stored on the iPad. After doing so, iTunes Match is enabled but all your songs are stored locally.

  • Deleting songs in iPad Mini

How do you delete songs from the Music app in iPad Mini?

    Try this: http://ipadnerds.com/delete-any-song-ios-7/
    and http://ipadnerds.com/delete-all-songs-ios-7/
Used this suggestion and it worked great.  I deleted all the music off my ipad mini which I couldn't swipe off, sync off or otherwise delete at all.    After you do this, make sure you turn off the auto sync and from the itunes menu turn off the "Autofill".  Then you can reload just the music you want.
