Syncing iPad and Picasa

How do I move photos into ipad from Picasa in the order they are in in the Picasa programme.  When I move them they shuffle about.

You will want to sync manually rather than automatically.
When your iPad is connected to your computer and you have iTunes open and running, simply select only the apps that you want to sync by selecting or deselecting (checking or unchecking the boxes) next to the apps that you want on each device. Select the Apps tab at the top of iTunes and under the Sync Apps heading in iTunes, you can even sort your apps by iPad, iPhone, iPad and iPhone, etc.
Just pick and choose which apps you want to sync to each device. I have an iPad and three iPod Touch devices that I sync using the same computer and iTunes library and each device has it's own content.

Because they are two separate devices.

  • Does anyone know the exact location where iTunes saves backup images of synced iPads and iPods?

My hard drive is full of these, and I wish to clear all but the latest backup image to save space!
Are there any other suggestions to rid myself of these excess space-consuming backups?

from this support article: About Backups
iTunes keeps only one backup created during the sync process for each device. If you restore the iPad and choose to set up as a new device from the Set Up your iPad screen, iTunes will automatically sync and create a new, empty backup that will replace your previous backup.
you will also find the location of the backups in the article.

  • Sync ipad and kindle

Is it possible to sync my ipad and kindle? I saw something somewhere that someone had done this but I cant fiind out how to do so.
I have the kindle app on my ipad but would like to be able to sync the two so I can swap between them. Is it possibel.
    thank you for your help

All Kindle apps and Kindle devices are synced to your Kindle account on Amazon, not directly to each other. As long as you're logged in using the same Amazon account information on all of the devices they should stay in sync. For further information, you should consult Amazon's help pages.

I have a macbook pro and an iphone. I sync them via the itunes program on my macbook . My wife just bought an iphone and an ipad. she has video and music on her iphone that she wants to put on her ipad. can she c onnect her iphone to her ipad and sync via her itunes accnt on her ipad? the reason i ask is , when she connects her iphone to my macbook, logs into her itunes accnt, the music library and photo collection is that from my itunes, and she doesnt want that on her phone or ipad. can one macbook have 2 different itunes programs with different libraries? I guess my question is how can my wife back up her video and music from her iphone on my macbook in itunes, then put that data on her ipad...without getting any of my data?
    1. No, she cannot connect her iPhone to her iPad to sync music. It has to go through iTunes.
    2. You can set up two accounts on your MacBook Pro. When she logs into the MBP with her name and password, she has her own library. She can back up her iPhone and iPad to that Library. Anything she bought from iTunes will still be authorized for that computer. Besides, she can have her own privacy that way.

  • How to sync iPad and iPhone 4?

How do I sync an iPad and iPhone 4 so that they can both use my cellphone number?
Also when I try to update my iPhone 4 in iTunes, it says my iPhone software update server could not be contacted, what does that mean?

Just plug the two devices into the Mac, as if the other one didn't exist. iTunes will keep them separate and allow you control sync of apps and media content as you wish.
As to iCloud, for the iTunes in the Cloud feature, if you use the same iTunes Store account on both the iPad and the iPhone, you'll want to turn off the automatic download option in the Settings -> Store preference pane on your devices. Then you can sync, download and update as you wish on each device.
    Regards.

  • Syncing ipad and iphone apps

  • Syncing ipad and iphone games together as one

I was wondering how or if I can sync my ipad and iphone together so that my games are all in sync...for example, I have tiny towers and angry birds on both but the games are on two different levels because they aren't synced together...anyone know if this is possible?

Wait a second-- so there is no simple way to sync data from games?  Isn't this something that could/should be possible through iClouds or Game Center or some kind of cloud system
With apps that require a sign in and where the data lives online (Pandora, Spotify, Evernote) it's all there and updated, no matter what device you sign in on
Kind of insane that it's not possible with games

You don't, as such. You sync each device with iTunes, and then you can sync content with the other unit. See:

  • TS3899 Email sync ipad and iPhone

How can I sync email on my ipad with my iPhone so that when I read or delete email on my iPhone it will show the same on my ipad and visa versa? Thank you

That action will only work if you have an IMAP email account. If you have a POP email account, your email actions will not sync across devices, so I assume that your email account is POP and not IMAP.

  • WIFI sync iPad and iPhone with new computer?

Bought my iPad in the fall, but didn't sync with my iMac because it was old and performing miserably, and because I was waiting for the MacMini to get a refresh so I could use it as a Media Center. Well, now I have my shiny new MacMini, but when I go to my iPad settings to do a wifi sync, it says it will sync next time I'm near my friend's computer. This is strange, because the only time I've EVER hooked up to a computer was once, at his house, to charge up and copy a book I wanted. I did not do anything except drag the book to my iPad in the Devices list on the left (older version of iTunes). I've read on other boards that I have to right click on my iPad and "transfer purchases" but when I connect my iPad to the MacMini by USB, all it gives me is the "Welcome to your new iPad" screen, with the option to set up as a new iPad or restore from a backup. Right clicking merely asks me to eject or restore. The only backup listed is dated April 21, 2011, which is an old iPad that was stolen. I've been backing up this current iPad with iCloud and have never had a problem, but it would be nice to sync over wifi if i want to copy files or music, instead of relying on Dropbox all the time.
Simillarly, when I try to sync my iPhone, I get as far as the syncing options, but when I go to apply the changes, it warns me that my phone is synced with another computer and that I can proceed if I want to erase this phone and sync the contents with my current library. In both situations, I'm afraid to proceed because I don't want to lose vital work information that has been stored in various apps. Any words of advice here? I know my apps are backed up, but I don't want to be surprised by finding out that the apps were backed up, but not the data I entered into them. I previously followed a tutorial which claimed I could copy and edit a file from the original iMac and transfer it to the MacMini, forcing it to recognize my new compurer as the original library... so when I open iTunes on the new computer, it does load up the iPhone and recognize it over wifi, and I can fiddle with options without having to connect via USB... but I get halted by that warning, and the settings app on the phone itself still indicates my original library as the one it needs for wifi sync. I should also add that my original iMac indicates that I need a newer version of iTunes to connect with my iPhone's iOS, but it is also too old (it's Lion) to upgrade iTunes beyond it's current version. I feel like with all this amazing technology, the options for a person who buys a new computer but doesn't want to migrate the clustered mess of their old system... still shamefully limited... unless I'm missing something.

Hmm. That sounds easy enough... but how do I backup to the new computer when it doesn't give me the option? When I connect the iPad via USB, it asks me to:
    • set up as a new IPad
    • restore from a previous backup (where the only backup listed in the drop down menu is a stolen iPad with outdated information, dated April of 2011. It doesn't ask to restore from iCloud where this current iPad is backed up.)
If you're suggesting that I back up both devices to iCloud and then wipe them, then plug them into the new computer and restore from the iCloud backup, so that my new computer considers these new devices, that makes sense... except that I don't see an option to restore from iCloud. Does that option appear later? And is it absolutely certain that any app I have entered data into will restore that information as well, and not just the app? For example, if I have an index card app which I make essay notes in, will those notes definitely be backed up along with the app? Or just the app? I can't afford to lose all my work data.
    Thanks.

  • Syncing ipad and iphone to new macbook pro

I have a pre-intel tower mac that the iphone and ipad are currently synced to.
I want to sync them both now to my new macbook pro. I am unsure about syncing in general as I haven't done it myself yet.
I'm a little worried about loosing data, and wondering what happens to the old tower they are currently synced with.. can I not longer sync them to it once they are synced to the MAcbook pro?
    any tips will be helpful.

Connect to the MacBook. It will ask you if you want to sync with the MacBook. It should then ask if you want to save what is on the iPad. Tell it yes, and it should do so. You should have your iPad apps backed up anyway, but I am pretty sure that you do not lose anything by transferring to another machine. The iPad does not care if it was a Mac or PC that it is synced with, it is not in either format. You do need to go and authorize your Macbook on your iTunes account.
Besides there is a step by step instruction on [How to transfer or sync iPad contents to Mac|http://www.softwarebbs.com/wiki/Howto_transfer_or_sync_iPad_contents_toMac].
Hope it can do you a favor.
