Syncing iPad from Two Locations

My son just received an iPad Mini. While he spends most of his time at his mom's house, I'm the more "device savvy" of the two parents, and will probably be the one getting it all set up and organized. Is it possible to have two iTunes installations on different computers (both Windows machines) and keep things in sync with the Mini? If both installations of iTunes are using the same account, will adding an app at one location get it to download and keep things in sync at the other location? Do we need to have one computer back up the system, or can both do so? Can one computer be synchronizing notes, contacts, such and have the other computer with those items not checked and still have it all work out? How does syncing work for those "two household" kids?

i think you are asking for trouble.  a pad wants to sync with 1 computer, or it gets messed up.

  • Syncing iCal from two locations

I have a mac at home and as a family we use iCal. I also use iCal at work and would like to be able to have both calendars synced to my IPad. Any idea how best to achieve this? Thank you wise forum people.

    I use Gmail for syncing the Calender;
Google and Apple both offer popular calendar services, GMail Calendars and iCal. You can create entries in either program and then sync your dates. When you make changes to a calendar entry in one program, the changes will be "pushed" to the other so that both are always up to date. The program information will be refreshed every five minutes unless you change the interval in your iCal preferences.
    Instructions
    1
Open the iCal "Preferences." With iCal open, click the iCal menu and select "Preferences." Click "Accounts."
    2
Add an account. Click the "+" sign to add a new calendar account. Type a name for your calendar and then enter your GMail username and password in the appropriate boxes.
    3
Enter the Server Options. Add the following URL: https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user, replacing "[email protected]" with the email address that you use to log in to GMail Calendar. As a GMail user, you would enter [email protected] Uncheck the "Use Kerberos v5 for Authentication" option if it is checked.
    4
Add a new account. Click "Add." Select the calendars that you want to add to iCal under the "Delegation" tab by checking the appropriate boxes.
    5
Add your email address to your address book by selecting "Add Email." If your email address is not in your address book, you will not be able to invite or email guests to GMail calendar events within iCal.

    This is correct.
Ipad wilol sync itunes content and pics with one and only one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.

  • ICloud Mail - Accessed from two locations simoutaneously?

    Hello,
I got this message this morning from my iCloud Mail.  It says that my iCloud Mail account has been accessed from two locations simoutaneously, and that I have 24 hours to receive confirmation of ownership of my account or it will be suspended.  There are no links in the email to confirm that I am the real user.  What do I have to do to prove that I am the real owner?  I don't want my email suspended!
Thanks for any information before 9:00 AM tomorrow, because that's when the 24 hours are up.

Yea, that sounds fishy.  Can't believe that Apple would mispell iCloud.  Looks like someone wanted you to reply with your username, password and location.  Might be worth contacting Apple about it.  If you explained that you were contacting them as a good samaritan to report a possible security threat that might effect other users they probably wouldn't charge you for the call.
If you're concerned, you could always change your password (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE36).  After doing so you would need to sign out, then back in using the new password for all services you are using the ID for.  For iCloud, you have to delete the account (which only deletes the account and your synced data from your device, not from iCloud), then sign back in with the new password.  Your data will be synced back when you sign back in.

Ok now I get your requirement.
you cant achieve this -  how one receiver channel can put in two location if you dont have a dynamic configuration defined i.e Adapter specific attributes.
easy way - involve IR mapping
    else
have a adapter module to define your dynamic configuration.

Set the dynamic directory/file name etc for your receiver adapter.

  • Sync photos from two libraries

How can I sync photos from two libraries? after syncing one of them I close that library and open the other and choose to select certain albums and the warning pops up that if I sync the current selection all others will be replaced with the current library. So it appears that you can't add to the ATV hard drive additional photos from the second library without losing the content you already have from the first one.Is streaming the answer, and if so how do you do that?

You can't sync more then 1 library with the apple tv. Your only option would be to sync with one and stream with the other. Just make sure on the second library that you set it to share and then go to computers on the apple tv and select the shared library. ATV will give you a code that you will set on the second library when you have itunes open. Put in the code and you will be able to stream

How do I sync photos from two separate iCloud accounts onto my PC?

    Howdy Springcheer,
While this is not syncing per se, I'm wondering if iCloud Photo Sharing will do what you need to get photos from two separate iCloud accounts to your PC.

  • After syncing iPad from desktop I can't open my library in my ipad

After syncing iPad from desktop I can't open mu music library in my New iPad

I assume that you are looking in the iPod app. If so, and there is nothing there, then try closing the iPod app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the iPod app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iPod app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Can I sync iPad on two computers?

Is it possible to sync them using both my MBP and my iMac?

I've detected a slight difference in iTunes behavior trying to sync an iPhone & iPad on two computers. There's been much written about doing this with the iPhone and I've settled into groove over the last year and a half where I sync music and photos at home and just sort of use the work set up to backup and charge. But syncing Apps is something I've always done in both places. However, when I tried this with iPad the dual set up doesn't play nice and even unchecks the Sync Apps box at work.

  • Loading movies on the iPad from two commuters

I have 2 imacs, One is the "home base" for my ipad. on the other imac there is a movie I would like to put on my ipad, is there a way I can put this movie on my ipad without deleting all the information currentlly on my ipad?

Send the movie to your 'Home base' iMac then sync it from there. Here's the easy Airdrop Method http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4783

Syncing the Movies section to your iPad form computer #2 will remove any movies you have that are not on computer #2 form your iPad.

  • Is it possible to sync to/from two computers but only sync from a third (no upload to third/work computer, but download from it)?

    Is this possible:
Two directional sync (to/from) of history, bookmarks, etc on two computers and only unidirectional sync (from only, not to) on a third? I have sync set up on my work computer and I like knowing my work history when at home or on my laptop, but I don't want all of my home history being sent to the work computer. Is there a way to have a two directional sync between 2 computers but only send history from, but not to, a third computer?
As it stands now, if someone at work would get on my history it would look like I have been looking up flights and buying things on the internet at work, but I only do that at home.
    Thanks.

As far as I know, you can only access the iTunes store of the country you are currently in.

  • Sync albums from two iphoto libraries to iphone

I have two iphoto libraries set up on my computer. One for family photos, one for my professional work. I switch between them by holding the alt key when I launch iphoto.
When I go into itunes to select the the albums from iphoto that I want to sync to my iphone, only the default library shows up with selectable albums, i.e. the family library.
How can I get albums from two different iphoto libraries onto my iphone?
    thanks

    one20,
The iPhone will not sync from two different iPhoto libraries, but you can create a folder on your computer and just drag all of the pictures you want on the iPhone into that folder. Then in the Photos tab in iTunes, sync that folder to the iPhone. Anytime you want to add/remove pictures from the iPhone, you can just add/remove them from the folder without changing your iPhoto libraries.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • How to sync files from two different subscriptions in two different CC desktop folders

    HI,
I have two CC subscriptions, one for work and one personal. I ran the work subscription in two computers at work and at home (when I need to work from home.) The problem  I find is that there is not two different CC folders for each subscription. When I log out from my work subscription, all my files for that subscription go away. Then when I log in again, they whole syncing process starts all over again. I chose to have two different subscriptions so not to mix my personal work with my work's. Is there a way to have a CC folder on my desktop for each subscription? In this way, when I log out from one account and go to the other the files of the account I just logged out don't get replaced for the files of the account I  just logged in.  Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I just want to let you know what you should be seeing when using 2 accounts.
    Account one:
    1. Log in with Adobe ID for account one
    2. Files sync to Creative Cloud files which is located in your home directory on Mac or Windows.
    3. Log out of account one, Creative Cloud now displays the log in panel.
    Account two:
    1. Log in with Adobe ID for account two
    2. Files sync to account 2's Creative Cloud files which is located in your home directory on Mac or Windows. (Account one's Creative Cloud Files folder is re named)
    Thing to check for are:
After you logged in to account two, the Creative Cloud folder for account 1 should now be renamed, can you check this please to make sure it has.
The same is true is you log back in to account one, account two's Creative Cloud folder will be renamed.
The data should not have to fully re-sync ever time you log out of account 1 and then into account 2, however, can you be sure that the data is actually re downloading. ie; you had 5GB of data in account one and when you log into account 1 the whole 5GB of data is re downloading?, could you check this?
The Creative Cloud files panel will display "Syncing" for a short while is you switch accounts, this is normal and means the application is reading data on disk and data on the server checking for changes/added files etc. This is not re-downloading all of your data, it is simply checking.
You are able to move the Creative Cloud files folder to any location on your local hard drive via the Creative Cloud prefs.
    Thanks
    Warner

  • Syncing iPad with two user accounts on mac iTunes

    Hi,
We have a couple of iPads at home for the family and have ended up in a bit of a mess.  I want to clean the setup up once and for all so thought it best to check for some advise before doing anything.
We have two main user accounts on our home computer - one has iTunes containing quite a bit of media (tv and films - some purchased from iTunes, some ripped from DVDs).  The other account is my wife's for using - she has her own photos on iPhoto, her own iTunes music etc.
For her iPad we would ideally have it sync with her iTunes on her mac user account but to have it just sync her tv shows with the tv shows from my user account iTunes on the mac.
From the options this seems theoretically possible but need to be sure before I get going.
If it is possible - how would this still work with wifi syncing?
    Thanks in advance.
    Andrew

Yes I moved the iphoto library to a mounted volume, as suggested in the apple support pages, and it works fine now.
I also made sure the volume was mounted at log on automatically. The only downside is that I have to make sure may wife doesn't log on and use iphoto whilst I am logged on.
