Syncing ipad with pc

I want to sync the music I have on the ipad to the itunes program on the new pc. Can I do this and if so how? I want to keep the music I have on the ipad too.

I don't want to sync what is on my iPod to my iPad. (I have a 32gb iPod but only 16gb on iPad. The iPod I use mostly for music.) I can't seem to add the films I have downloaded onto iPad to iTunes. If I could do that, I could erase them from iPad to create more storage.

Answer.....
Yes you will lose the films that you downloaded to the iPad when you sync with your own iTunes unless you transfer the purchases into your own iTunes library. Were these movies that you purchased? If so, you might be able to download them again for free. Do you have multiple computers that you sync from or is this someone else's purchased content?
You can select whatever you want to sync to all of your devices in iTunes, you do not have to sync the same content to all device.

If you lost all your apps on both the iPad and the computer, you can download the apps again at no cost. You can search your emails for app store purchases if you can't remember all the apps that you have downloaded.

The 'cehck for available downloads' checks if there is anything in the store that you haven't yet downloaded, it won't copy anything from the iPad. Have you tried doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases ?

Try authorizing the new computer usinjg iTunes with the new Apple ID.
Launch iTunes. From the menu bar (top of your screen) click Store > Authorize This Computer
Then try syncing.

Re-syncing iPAD with itune

hi,
Last week, i had to format my computer. this erased all data on C drive, include itune and itune library, with which my iPAD was synced.
Now i have reinstalled itune. But when i am trying to sync iPAD with it, everytime it says it will erase my existing data. I dont want to loose on the existing data as i have a lot of ebooks whom i have bookmarked and made notes in.
What's the way out so that i can syn my iPAD again with the itune library without loosing on the data?

I have an iPad 2 that I use for work. For this I have a "work" Apple ID which I use for synching with my work laptop. But is it possible to also sync the iPad with my "private" Apple ID and MacBook?

What you want to do is difficult. You can mix content from more than one Apple ID on the same iOS device, but that is easiest when the content is mixed together in the same iTunes library. When you sync your iPad to the work ID and laptop it will erase everything that is on the iPad. The same with your personal ID and the MacBook. There is a new ability in iOS 5 to sync specific content wirelessly to an iOS device. You could be syncing photos from your personal Mac and be syncing the Apps from your work laptop, but you cannot sync all content from multiple computers separately.

If you read my first question, I did get my ipad reset back to where it was when brand new. I'm still having problems figuring out how to sync it with my iphone that's backed up on iTunes. Should I "choose to set up as new iPad" or "restore from backup"? I think I remember your first question and I believe that I responded to it. Choose restore from backup. No you do not need to connect your phone when you do this. Now I am assuming that you did properly backup the phone.
Its really quite simple. When iTunes ask you if you want to restore from the backup, click yes or OK or whatever shows up - and then a window should pop up listing your backups. You should only have the iPhone backup to select from in the drop down menu, so select the iPhone backup and then click on restore. After the backup is loaded onto the iPad, sync with iTunes if it doesn't sync on its own. But I think that it should sync after you restore from the backup.

I see you have a new iMac and assume that it is running Mavericks. With Mavericks the only way to sync information via the Info tab would be to use iCloud. Here is some information that will walk you through the process of using iCloud.
