Syncing ipaq rx3115

I am having a problem syncing my hp ipaq pocket pc (windows mobile 2003 second edition).  I have installed synce, raki, (v)dccm and all that good stuff.   I can connect  and copy files to the ipaq through Konqueror-rapip://pocketpc.   the problem is whe I go to  left click on the raki icon then navigate to configure pocket pc and try to select  appointment, contact, and task i get the error "Wrong library type for Appointment".
After searching and searching for two days i found one other person with this problem in another forum.  to fix it he installed ksync and kitchensync.   I have kitchensynce installed but after a few days of searching i can not find ksync binaries anywhere.   I have seen it in repos for ubunto, suses and other distros but can not find anything to install for arch.   does anyone know where i can find ksync?

There is a solution posted on the markspace.com web site (makers of Missing Sync). Basically, you run the File Juicer program to extract the .cab file from the original .exe and then you can install the .cab from Missing Sync.
I'd try this solution before going the whole "old version of windows" route.

  • IPAQ 211 ENTERPRISE HANDHELD WILL NOT SYNC ON WINDOWS 7

I'm migrating from Windows XP to a new computer with  Windows 7 64 byte,  installtion disk will not work and my research tells me to use WMDC. I coneect the device via a USB cable and WMDC does not reconize connection.  I downloaded WMDC 6.1 drive from website still not connection.  reboated system disconnect device several time and no reconnitions on WMDC.  The device  has Windows Mobil 6 Classic CE OS 5.2.1711, Processor : MARVELL PXA310.  I installed Office 2003 which I had on old system and worked fine with actve sync.  Any help on how to get my Ipaq to sync with Outlook would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I saw it in the forum yesterday!  I had to dig to find it... but then I come here today and I see so many people having the same issue... so I made a thread that has the solution as the first post and replied to some other peoples' threads.
I don't really know why iTunes 10.5 has this problem, but this fix seems to always do the trick!
Hopefully Apple can find the root of the problem so people don't have to do this in a future iTunes release.  It must have something to do with the push notification system they added to iTunes.  (In iTunes 10.5, your computer connects to Apple's Push Notification System so that it can know when your iPhone is on the Wi-Fi network and also to advertise when the computer itself is on the network.  It also receives requests to sync via Wi-Fi this way as well...)

  • Sync HP IPAQ (Mobile Pocket PC - H5550) and Minidisc Walkman to iMac

Having just moved from PC to MAC, I have a few questions....
I used to sync my IPAQ with PS using Active Sync. iSync doesn't appear to handle the IPAQ - is there a simple/free plug in needed?
If full sync is not possible then I would like to at least be able to copy the odd file from IPAQ to iMac and vica versa -is there a simple way to do this. (I successfully paired the 2 via Bluetooth but still cannot access the IPAQ with Finder??)
I also have a Sony Minidisk walkman which I used to use Sonic Stage to upload music to the minidisk. Sony says sonic stag is not compatible with MAC but is there a plug in for iSync or iTunes that would do it for me??
Many thanks for any assistance on these.

wrt IPAQ I was hoping there may have been a cheaper option but thanks for the info.
That's the best option for syncing Windows Mobile / PocketPC devices with a Mac. Others are:
    http://www.pocketmac.com/
    http://www.sync-mac.com/
If all I wanted to do was interrogate the IPAQ memory whilst the iMac and IPAQ are connected via BT do you think there is a simple solution for that?
The *Bluetooth File Exchange* application in the Utilities folder on your Mac should do that.
wrt MD walkman my model is an MZ-NH600 which is not listed as compatible but I guess I could try it and see what happens??
Yes, it will either work or won't.
The other alternative is to install Windows on your Mac using VirtualBox (free) so you can continue to use the few Windows apps that you can't find Mac alternatives for.

  • Problems in using Msync with  IPAQ 3760 and Active SYnc 3.5

    Hi,
    Environment :-
    IPAQ 3760
    Windows NT workstation
    Active Sync 3.5
I am using Active Sync 3.5 which does not need RAS
    configuration on the machine.
I am unable to run msync.exe. It does not give any errors
    messages.
The 9i lite documentation talks about RAS settings.
If anyone has faced similar prob coudl you please let me know
    the solution.
    regards,
    Sonal

You do not need to make a RAS connection with Pocket PC 2002,
because now ActiveSync itself makes an IP connection, and
Oracle9i Lite just needs an IP connection for synchronization no
matter how you establish it. Hi, I also experience the same problem. Using PocketPC 2002 I have a pasthru connection. Ik kan browse on the Internet with Internet Explorer, so the connections works.
mSync just seems to do nothing. When I press the Sync button, nothing happens (not even a progress bar).
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Bas.

  • Sync software for a ipaq

I am looking for a solution for syncing a ipaq to my mac, i know that missing sync will do it, i am just wondering if there are any cheaper options out there. I have considered a blackberry but i believe that the same issues occur with a blackberry, but i could be wrong.
    Thanks

Your only other option would be PocketMac:

  • Sync'ing a Palm Zire 72 with Windows 7 (Home Premium 64)

Ok I am probably a dinasour but have relied on my Zire 72 for years for all the contacts and calendar items I don't want to keep on my phone but now cannot get it to sync with Windows 7.  I never used Vista, migrated straight from XP to Windows 7 but have read all the threads on Vista and hot sync'ing.  I know I apprently can't use the direct USB cables as there are no 64 bit drivers from palm for this so I purchased the recommended USB-1510 IRDa adaptor.  Even though Cables Direct does not seem to have Windows 7 drivers, Windows 7 appeared to recognize and accept the Vista 64 drivers and the adaptor seems to be recognized.  I am using Hotsync 4.1.0 and Palm Desktop 4.1.4.  Have tried everything, soft resets of the Palm, reboots of both the computer and palm, reinstallation of the software, etc and cannot get these to sync.  I either get the message that the connection cannot be established or once or twice that the port was being used by another process.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I competely give up.  Many thanks!
    Post relates to: Zire 72

I have hotSync Manager 6.0.1 and while the Zire 72 will NOT sync over the USB cable it will sync over a Bluetooth connection. You need to have a Bluetooth interface either built into the computer or a Bluetooth USB plug in device. Then you have to set up the channel by making both devices visible to other devices once they recognize each other you have to follow the dircetions in Windows 7 for making it a trusted device. After they are trusted devices they will sync over Bluetooth which is slower that using a straigth USB cable but it works.
This is also the way you can sync a Palm LifeDrive and HP Ipaq with SW on Windows 7. Yes I have all three and this was the easiest way so  I could make them sync up suing the same interface. The Lifedrive and HP Ipaq can also sync over WIFI but this was easier for me since all the devices use the same interface, i.e. no remembering special setups.
I am running WIn 7 Home Premium and I am using Palm Desktop Application 4.1.4 for all Palm syncs. I have 2 Zire 72 Palms and 1 Life drive. They all come up in that Palm Desktop Application allwoing me to copy things from one to the other.

  • USB Sync stopping Windows 7 upgrade

When I purchased my Compaq CQ5110F (Vista) it was just immediately before Windows 7 came out but my previous one crashed so I couldn't wait and was given a Windows 7 upgrade package. As Vista suited me and I've been working with it until now ok but decided to take the plunge and upgrade. I've done all of the updates, backups, whatever, and went to install just now and it's telling me that the HP USB Sync is stopping the upgrade, although when I printed out the whole 12 pages of the compatability report, that wasn't specifically mentioned. I had previously had an HP Ipaq which was syncd to the computer but I uninstalled it yesterday as I no longer use it. When I look in the Sync Center there is nothing in there and I can't find anything that just says USB Sync - so now I'm stuck with the upgrade, it won't go further and I don't know what to do - other than abandon the upgrade, can anyone help?  I'm off work at the moment so it seemed the ideal time to do this ...   Many thanks.

I've finally managed it and everything seems to be working well without removing any further things, and re-installing -with the exception of Quickbooks 2010.  I did get it to open but there was a constant box saying Windows was trying to configure QB but was failing.  I'm closing it down and see if it does the same thing tomorrow but am I correct in assuming I'll need to uninstall it - that always makes me nervous.
A further question nothing to do with tech things - when I first registered it said I was a guest, now it says I'm a student, I didn't put that in and don't see where I can change it in the profile??

  • MacBook Pro and iPAQ

I just purchased my MacBook Pro and I'm leaving behind a PC legacy...lol! I have an iPAQ for work that I used to synchronize with my Dell. Can I still do this w/ my new Mac?

Just adding the relevant links and another possible application.
In order to use and sync a PocketPC PDA with a Mac you will need third party software such as The Missing Sync or PocketMac.

  • Lookin for a hp ipaq pocket pc charger for a 3715

im lookin for hp ipaq pocket pc 3715 charger

If you have the usb sync lead you can use it with any good usb outlet phone charger adaptor to charge the ipaq as it would plugged into a pc/notebook usb port but possibly faster if choose a 1Amp usb phone charger.
If you have nothing local then ebay has a selection of solutions.

  • Missing Sync or Pocket Mac

I currently have a Motorola v3i but I am returning it as I do not like the phone's address book/calendar functionality. I am considering replacing it with the XDA Mini S, which, as it is a Windows Mobile 2005 device, will not work correctly with iSync.
Therefore, I will be looking at The Missing Sync or Pocket Mac (hoping they are updated to work with WM2005 as per their web sites).
I have used Pocket Mac before to synchronise an iPaq with AB/iCal and quite like the way it integrates with iSync.
I have never used The Missing Sync but quite like it's features.
Have any other contributors to this forum used both of these products? Which would you recommend?

I can only speak of PocketMac Pro, (I’m posting a missing sync message today myself), and can say that it is certainly a love/hate relationship. If you have very basic tasks like syncing to only one program, it can work pretty well, but it falls flat many times. Their support, while prompt (within 24h), typically returns canned messages that, in my experience, never answer my problems and I have to deal with them for several more days. They make a lot of claims as to what their software can do, but definitely believe the ymmv rule on this one. They also seem to lag behind in developing with Apple’s progress on the OS. For example, I had things working pretty well before Tiger, but the syncing services just wreaks havoc on PocketMac Pro.

  • Treo 650 will not sync

I am trying to get my Treo 650 to sync with the Oracle Calendar Sync. The error on the handheld looks something like:
"Out of storage space during update of database CTimeSetupPrefsDB - aborting sync."
The log on the laptop (Mac G4 10.3.7) only says that the sync ended successfully.
I am using the USB cable. Has anyone gotten this to work?

Did you look at the available patches?

  • IPaq synch?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this - I'm in the market for a handheld with bluetooth and WiFi.
I've narrowed it to the Palm TX which appears easy to synch with a Mac (Intel iMac) and a HP Ipaq hx2495 or hx2795. I'm leaning toward the iPaq because it's an interface I'm familiar with (Windows at work)
Can I synch the iPaq to iCal and Address Book?
Any advice or opinions are welcome!
Thanks in advance for your help!!

To synchonize an HO iPAQ to the Address Book and iCal you'll need third-party software: PocketMac from Information Appliance Associates, or the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile from Mark/Space.

  • HP Ipaq 214 Enterprise.

    Hi all,
Sorry if this is a stupid question.
Can a HP Ipaq 214 be synced with my Imac 24 ?
I would like to transfer my calendar both ways. I have an Imac, Ipad, but I really do want to keep my Ipaq, as it is really robust and being in the plumbing heating trade I will ruin an Itouch within weeks.
    Kev.

You could try the Missing Sync from Markspace.com

  • HP Ipaq rx1955

    Hello,
I have the HP Ipaq rx 1955 and have no trouble connecting to a Windows XP PC, but the rx1955 will not get recognized by any Macintosh computer. I purchased PocketMac Software for my Mac and that too can not see this Device.I have read reviews about Syncmac and PocketMac ,they both state that a Ipaq rx1950 series can be used on a Macintosh, I just can not find out why any Mac does not see this Device. Has anyone else been able to connect a rx1955 with USB to a Mac?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Mark/Space also advertises compatibility with the HP
iPAQ rx1955 and the Missing Sync for Windows Mobile,
    but offers this caveat:
For USB connectivity, download the USB Switch from
HP and install it on your device.
    Download the file from:
    http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/handheldiPAQ/u
    s/download/23359.html
To install the file to your device…
    • use a Windows PC
    • try to extract a CAB file from the .EXE file using
a third party application such as FileJuicer
    • copy the file to an SD card which can be inserted
into the Windows Mobile 5 device and then installed
Once installed, select Serial USB as your connection
    mode rather than RNDIS.
Although they are vastly different products, you'll
    find generalized troubleshooting hints from
    Mark/Space—applicable to Windows Mobile connection
issues with any software or device—here:
    http://www.markspace.com/support/kb.php?x=&mod_id=2&ro
    ot=65
I downloaded Filejuicer and on my Mac extracted the CAB file. Copied on a Memory stick and went over to my PC and copied to my SD card. When I clicked on it, nothing seems to happen.
I have 4 setting under Connections, Beam/connections/Ipaq Wireless and Networking Cards.
You said “Once installed, select Serial USB as your connection mode rather than RNDIS.” But were I’ am I doing that. I can not find RNDIS to begin with. I did get a friends Ipaq 1940 and that connected right up. I didn’t have to do anything. The only 2 differences are, he has Bluetooth and I do not, and the MS Mobile version he is running is older.
    Please help.
