Syncing iPhone with power pc mac

My iMac logic board went out when I bought my new iphone4. Can I sync
With an old G4 with power pc?

Mac system requirements
* Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
* Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
* iTunes 9.2 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
* iTunes Store account
* Internet access
You'll need to get a retail copy of Leopard(no longer sold by Apple), if you don't have one. Ebay would be a good place to look.

  • Can't sync iPhone with iTunes on Mac book pro.

I have a iPhone 4 that I just now updated to version 5.1.  I have a Macbook Pro running Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
When I connect my phone to the computer w the USB cable, nothing happens.  iTunes does not "see" the phone.
I also have wifi and when I try to sync using this, I get a message on the phone "Sync will resume when"Macintosh.local" is available."
I have done a sync before with no problem using the cable.  I have restarted both the phone and the computer.  What am I doing wrong now?

I have tried all the suggestions on the support site Mr. Finch suggested.  I have removed iTunes and after the third try, have downloaded and reinstalled iTurns.  Still no sync.  I have rebooted the router, computer, iPhone and still no sync.
It worked fine a month ago. Yesterday the sync worked fine on my other macbook pro to sync File Maker Pro.
    Any suggestions?

  • Syncing iphone with PC and MAC

I easily sync my Outlook 2007 calendar and contacts with my iphone 4 via iTunes. I recently got a iMac laptop and want to sync my iphone with it too. However, when I sync it via iTunes, all the calendar and contact information on my iphone is wiped out. Here is what happens:
When syncing with the MAC, iTunes tells me I have synced with another account and would I like to merge the information or replace. I always choose Merge. I click that I would like to sync contacts and calendar, notes and bookmarks. Then I click sync and it always wipes out my contacts and calendar info on my iphone. How can I get the information from my phone to sync with the MAC?
    Thank you in advance!

have the same problem. Prior to the upgrade to iOS4 I was happily merging the calendar and contacts on my iPhone (3GS 32MB) with my office PC in Outlook and my home MacBook Pro with address book and iCal. I ad been doing this for 6 months without problems. Since the upgrade I have had no end of problems. If I sync at work, choose the option to merge, I get everything in the correct place. I then come home and try to do the same with my mac, again choosing the merge option but it wipes all data from the work PC and replaces with the now outdated data on my mac. Somehow the mac is over ruling the merge option. There are numerous different data entries in each compter now so it is nothing to do with one being empty.
this seems to be a common problem amongst colleagues with 2 computers and one iPhone, has anyone solved it yet or are we simply waiting with bated breath for Apple to solve it?

  • Syncing iPhone with Two Computers: Mac and PC

I have a Macbook running 10.7.1 at home and a PC at work running Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.  I sync my iPhone (music, photos, contacts, calendars, photos) with my Macbook at home. I have set up MobileMe syncing on my MacBook and iPhone.
If I install iTunes on my work PC, set up MobileMe syncing with Outlook, etc., can I then connect my iPhone to my work PC without problems?  Or, upon syncing my iPhone with my work PC, will everything be erased?
I am trying to sync calendars and contacts through MobileMe to my iPhone while continuing to sync all of my music, apps, etc. to my Macbook at home.
    Thanks

Let me try to explain.  I want my sync my work calendar and contacts from my work PC to my iPhone while maintaining everything else (music, apps, pictures, etc.) on my MacBook.
Can I sync my work PC Outlook calendar and contacts through the air using MobileMe and connect my iPhone only to my MacBook?
    Thanks.

  • Syncing iphone with both home Mac and work PC

My office uses Outlook 2003. How do I regularly sync my office calendar/contacts with my iPhone? I have a Mac at home so would prefer not to change my iTunes platform to Windows, and would like to merge the Mac and Outlook databases.

Yeah, I have very specific requirements-- I hope someone can experiment and come up with a solid walk-through before I consider one.
Work PC: tasks and calendar items from Outlook
    Home Mac: contacts and calendar
The tricky thing with syncing multiple computers appears to be dupes, on the second sync, after syncing to a different machine in my experience. Overwriting is sketchy, though I'd probably risk overwriting my home computer (because I can always get it back with .Mac... hello Apple, cough .Mac syncing OTA...).

  • Sync iPhone with 2 different Macs?

How can I effectively sync the contacts and calendars with Mac Book Pro and my Mac Pro desktop with my iPhone and still keep the iTunes content from my desktop? Every time I attempt to sync with Mac Book Pro it wants to replace the iTunes content.

Syncing music, video, photos and podcasts can only sync from one computer.
If you try to sync these items with a second computer, you get the message about erasing the content on your iphone.
However, syncing contacts and calendars can be from multiple computers.
If you decide to sync contacts and calendars with a second computer, make sure contacts and or calendars are the only things checked. If any music, video, photos or podcasts are checked, you will get the erase error message.
When you sync contacts and/or calendars with another computer itunes will try to merge the data.
So, if you do this often, you end up with the same data on each computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to sync iPhone with new Mac without losing all my iTunes?

I have recently got a new MacBook after my old one crashed... but I have been told that anything not bought would be lost when I sync my iPhone with my new Mac... I have already transferred the bought songs etc... is there a way (cheap or free if possible!) to transfer my music and videos to my iTunes library on my Mac?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
    Option 1:
If you have purchased a new Mac from an Local Apple store, I'd advise you to bring in your old computer along with your new one in, and have them assist you on transferring. (Assuming your computer doesn't not even power up)
    Option 2:
If your computer can be powered up (seeing the Apple Logo), and your hard drive is fine, then you can connect the two computers by using a Firewire cable, and then transfer the music files by drag and drop.
         http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1661
    Option 3:
There are 3rd party software that you may purchase used to extract music from your iPhone, but it will have to be done at your own risk.  You may Google for extracting music from iPhone for a start.

I can not see any other way of showing a side bar view and i can not access any way of controling the sycn service. It seems to be syncing calander but not my contacts. Have I missed something?

  • How do i sync my iphone with outlook for mac 2011 calendar?

how do i sync my iphone with outlook for mac 2011 calendar?

Here are some instructions from Microsoft:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2452489
Alternatively, depending on where the data in Outlook is coming from, you could set up your phone to sync to the same account that Outlook is syncing with.  For example, my Outlook 2011 and my iPhone both sync to my work Exchange account, so I have that same calendar in both places.

  • What is my best option for synchronizing tasks (to-dos)/calendars on my iPhone with an Apple Mac?

I currently have an iPhone 3GS (will upgrade to 5 when available) and Windows XP PC (soon to be retired!) and happily sync my to-do's/calendar between Appigo To-do/iphone Calendar on my iPhone and MS Outlook 2007 on my PC.
Looking ahead I want to buy a Mac of some kind but before I do so, I'd like to try and find answers to the following questions.
1.) What are my options for synchronizing tasks / calendar on my iPhone with an Apple Mac?
2.) Which is recommended as the best?
3.) Which options should I avoid?
    Thanks in advance!
    Mark

    You have 2 options:
    1)  Ensure in all cases "store email on the server" is set.  I suspect on one device it's not set.
    2) (preferred IMO) On all devices, set option to bcc: yourself to true.  This way you always get all the emails and can file them via IMAP, and they'll be everywhere (with mail headers which preserves sent date.  "sent messages" often DOES NOT preserve the sent date)

  • How to sync iPhone with iTunes on another computer?

I will try to sync it again tonight and let you know how did it go.
    Thanks again.

If you do, you will lose all of your information on the phone. You can only sync to 1 itunes library at a time on 1 computer.

  • Recently downloaded latest version of iTunes software, afterwards, while trying to sync iphone with PC received this error message: Unable to Load Resource not found; SyncUICoreLocalized.dll; please advise, thank you

THIS HAS EVERY APPEARANCE OF A SOFTWARE GLITCH BY APPLE ... So first suggestion is NOT to begin reinstalling various software but to await some answer & fix from Apple.  Too many have same problem on various systems, in my view (I am not an Apple rep but have certainly faced many glitches over the years).
PS - LOTS of Apple software problems these days, including many people having their Contacts shredded.  What's going on with Apple?

    2- desktop (home)
Frequently : I sync iphone with my laptop
My problem : When I want to sync with desktop, Itunes want to erase data & restore with itunes (desktop),
How do I make this 2 location itunes with a single data.
TQ & sorry for pour English.

How do I make this 2 location itunes with a single data.
You can't, as this has never been a feature of any iPhone. By design, iPhone syncs or manually manages iTunes content with ONE computer at a time. Any attempt to sync or manually manage iTunes content with a second computer will result in ALL iTunes content being first erased from your phone, to be replaced with the content from the second computer. Pick one computer & stick with that computer.
