Syncing iPhone4 (4.3.3) with Aperture 3

Since upgrading to 4.3.3, I cannot sync any more images from Aperture 3 to my iPhone4.
I proceeded to unclick the Sync photos option  and hope for the best. Now I have NO Aperture images on my phone and cannot (re)sync them at all, receiving the "the phone "...." cannot be synced. The required files cannot be found".
Any pointers?
Thanks!

oopps - just found Ingo2711's solution. Worked great! (deleting iPOd photo cache from Aperture directory)

  • Apple TV 1st Gen + iTunes 10 + Photo Sync (with Aperture 3) = No Sync

I recently started to experience the same issues that others have reported regarding not being able to sync their Apple TV classic (1st generation) with iTunes 10.
I grudgingly disconnected my Apple TV from iTunes which wiped out all the content. Then when I started a new sync, the Apple TV (and my iMac) froze when trying to connect.
So, I disconnected them again, and quickly set the sync preferences to a "Custom" sync. After an hour of playing around with the settings, and turning on (one by one) syncing of video content, music and podcasts, I've narrowed it down ... to Photo syncing with Aperture.
All of the other content that iTunes will let me select, syncs fine. I've re-synced my entire music library, but if I even setup iTunes to sync 1 photo from Aperture to my Apple TV ... freeze-o-matic.
Anyone else run into this issue and/or been able to find a workaround to fix it?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your library has become a secondary (streaming only) library only (it is possible to turn syncing off by ctrl-clicking on the Apple TV listing in the device list and choosing 'Turn Off Syncing" from the contextual menu) and you need to reconnect your library as a primary library.
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

  • Syncing Folders with Aperture 3, How To?

    Hi,
I was wondering how can I keep a file system folder in sync with Aperture library (Both when I add files to the system folder or when I create a new versions in the Aperture library).
I know it is not supported in Aperture. Is there some scripts or a plugin to do this?
I know that Aperture was designed to be the sole Manager for the photo library, but I need this feature. Please let us not turn this discussion into a discussion about managing libraries emoticon - smile
    Any help is appreciated!

Thank you. That is helpful. Where can I get these scripts?
However, matching versions is another matter. There is no file for a version, it's simply an entry in the database. Do you really want to export every version as a jpeg/tiff ?
Sometimes, I would like to export the versions to have them as JPEGs. I know that Aperture was designed to manage versions in an incremental fashion. But sometime, I would like to have this option (For my PS3 to see the files [I know that you can sync your aperture library] or for my wife's Windows laptop to see the files etc...).
Rather defeats the purpose of Aperture.

  • Syncing photos with Aperture 2.0

After upgrading to Aperture 2.0, I no longer have the option to select which projects I want to sync my photos from. It is now all photos or none (with Aperture 1.5, you could select one or more projects). Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there any known workaround?

I have been running the Aperture 2.0.1 upgrade for some time now and still can't import Aperture albums. It's all or nothing.
Does anyone else continue to have the problem after upgrading to 2.0.1?
    Thanks

  • How do I stop MobileMe Sync with Aperture 3?

    Hi All,
I just published my first gallery to MobileMe from AP3. It was quick and easy and I like that it's easy to share to friends. However, is there any way to leave the gallery up while disconnecting or preventing Aperture from syncing with it? I don't plan to make any changes to this gallery now, after the initial upload and I'm wondering if one can just upload and be done with it (letting the gallery live on the web) - and not have Aperture try to continually connect to the gallery for updating. Or, is there a way to just update manually?
    Thanks.

    Hey narfee,
I found an article that can goes over how to unregister your computer from syncing.
MobileMe Sync: About registering and unregistering computers
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1074
It depends on what type of computer you're using, but I pasted the relevant steps below:
    Unregister a computer from syncing
If you no longer want a computer to sync with MobileMe, you can unregister the computer from syncing. You can unregister any computer that is registered for syncing from any other computer with Mac OS X v10.4.11, v10.5.8,  v10.6.x, OS X Lion, Windows XP, or Windows Vista, as long as you know your member name and password.
Unregistering a computer from syncing does not delete any data.
To unregister a computer from syncing:
    Mac OS X v10.4.11
    Open System Preferences
    Click .Mac
    Click Advanced
Select the Computer you wish to unregister
    Click Unregister
    Mac OS X v10.5.8, v10.6.x, OS X Lion
    Open System Preferences
    Click MobileMe
    Click Sync
    Click Advanced
Select the Computer you wish to unregister
    Click Unregister
Note: In Mac OS X v10.5.8, if you unregister all computers you may be prompted to delete unwanted sync data. If you are no longer syncing with MobileMe, you can delete the unused sync data from the MobileMe servers.
    Windows XP or Vista
    Open Control Panel
    Click MobileMe Preferences
    Click Sync
    Click Advanced
Select the Computer you wish to unregister
    Click Unregister
    Cheers,

  • Error -50 - Syncing iPhone photos with aperture

    Hi,
    The facts:
    OS - 10.7 Lion
    iTunes - 10.4
    iOS - 4.3.5
So when I updated to Lion and iTunes 10.4 my photos from Aperture will no longer sync with my phone.  I get the error (-50), which to my understanding is a time out error.  Now when I sync with iPhoto it works, no error.
Any help with getting my iPhone to sync with Aperture would be appreciated.

  • Apple TV Photos not that sharp? (sync with Aperture)

Not sure if other people think this or if I'm doing something wrong, but I sync my ATV with Aperture and the photos as displayed on the TV just aren't that sharp.
Does iTunes sync low res images to ATV?
I have a 1080p HD TV and have set ATV to output at that resolution, but I'm just not seeing the sharpness on the TV.
My only thought is this - I shoot my pics in raw format, which does look a little soft until they have some post processing applied (something Aperture does when viewing). I'm wondering whether iTunes exports the master file to ATV without applying any post processing.....? Any thoughts?

In another thread it was suggested that Aperture (unlike iPhoto) syncs previews that are fairly hi-res, but definitely not full resolution, to the ATV.
My pix from iPhoto look great on my 32" LCD and the files sizes are fairly close compared to the source computer. The person who reported the above info also reported a drastic difference in size - many gigs vs. hundreds of MB - between Aperture and his ATV.

  • Hi, I am trying to Sync Iphone4 with iTunes of my Desktop, but unable to transfer my purschases to iPhone.

Hi, I am trying to Sync Iphone4 with iTunes of my Desktop, but unable to transfer my purschases to iPhone.
On Itunes i can see that Apps are added on my iPhone, but after hitting the Sync button, it tries to do the Sync & nothing happens
I Have tried this on several times but nothing happens.
    Any solutions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks & regards,

Hey guys, I found a solution. I had the same problem, the sync will say "Determining apps to sync" in step 4 - 7 then suddenly just quits. So I did some research, apparently a lot of people have this problem, but everyone were just trying on their own PC, so I decided to try on my other laptop. My iPod synced perfectly with the other laptop so I knew it was the PC that was the problem, not my iPod. So basically it's just iTunes. I followed these steps to completely remove and reinstall iTunes on my PC and Viola! It syncs perfectly again!
Here's the link to the steps: http://www.imobie.com/support/completely-remove-and-reinstall-itunes.ht
Note: Before I did this, BeBuoi said to remove all the apps and resync, but that didn't work for me. So when I did all these steps, I had no apps in my iPod.
    Goodluck!

  • How to sync an iphone created photo album with aperture

    hello,
how can I do to sync a iPhone created Photo Album with Aperture?.
First of all, I created a new Photo Album on my iPhone (IOS 5.x), then I want it to sync with Apple Aperture 3, but Aperture created no new Album in the Project Folder. What can I do?
    Best Regards
    Sigi

If the album was placed on the phone by syncing photos from a computer to the phone, the way to remove it is to sync again but this time remove the checkmark in front of "Sync Photos From" on the photos page of iTunes (if you want to remove all previously synced photos) or change the selection of photos in iTunes to be synce. Each time you sync photos using iTunes it sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current settings/photo selection in iTunes.

  • Can't select projects for iPhone to sync with Aperture

I'm migrating from iPhoto to Aperture 3.3.1
I'm on a 2009 Mac Mini using Lion.
I can easily import iPhone photos into Aperture, no problem.
I've managed to get iTunes to allow selecting sync between my iphone 4S (latest OS5) and Aperture. All well and good. But...
What I don't seem to be able to do is select anything of substance to sync. For one thing, the only items available for sync are "Events"--for example "last 20 events" and macros like that. Since Aperture doesn't deal with "events" but rather "projects", I don't know how this translates.
I have a lot of projects in Aperture, but unlike when I was syncing with iPhoto--where I could select from a long list of specific items I'd created in iPhoto, I don't see any option in iTunes to sync custom named Projects, Albums, or any such thing from Aperture. Only these simple macros for recent events. And even when I select something like "the 20 most recent events" and try to sync, nothing is synced. Nothing gets transferred when I do a sync. No photos get transferred to the iPhone.
How do I get all of my projects to appear in iTunes as options to sync with my iPhone?

I see, we have been cross posting
What exactly are your settings in the "Previews" tab of the Aperture preferences? Have you enabled the sharing and the automatic creation of previews?
If you are not sure, if previews have been generated for all your projects, force the creation by selecting all images and selecting "Photos > Update Previews".
Since iPhoto and Aperture now share the same library, I don't understand why selecting Aperture as the sync source would be any different than selecting iPhoto in this regard.
Do I understand you correctly - You have only one library right now, that you alternately open in Aperture and iPhoto?
Then only one of the two Applications will show the contents: Aperture or iPhoto. The results I have show you above in my previous post do apply,  when I have two libraries, one used with iPhoto and one used with Aperture. The same library openened in turns with iPhoto or Aperture will only show all contents for one of the two apps; I assume this is to keep the photo cache inside the library small - otherwise you would have to waste space for two photos caches.
When I try to sync my Aperture library with iTunes, I see all projects like shown above with the switch set to Aperture, but set to iPhoto I also see only the two events you have shown. So use the application to sync your photos that will show all albums or events/projects.

  • Syncing iPad with Aperture

When I plug in my iPad I can sync it with the Aperture library that is currently open. Is it possible to sync the iPad with more than one Aperture library? Thanks for your help.

    fcandy,
    No you can not.
I commonly use two Aperture libraries with my iPhone. When I sync the iPhone with my sync selected library open, new and updated photos get synced. When I sync my iPhone with my non-sync selected library open, nothing happens in the sync process.
Though I haven't tried it, I imagine if the sync selected library got changed, it would wipe out the photo content of the sync device before doing a sync.
    Regards,
    Stephen
Note: What I mean by sync selected library is the last Aperture library selected in the synchronization process with a given device. I have a library that I chosen to use in iTunes. That would be my synced selected library. If I do a sync while another library is selected, iTunes does not recognize that any photo synchronization has happened. Though when switching back to the sync selected library, iTunes again updates to reflect information pertinent to that library after the device is unplugged and replugged.

  • Syncing iPhone4 Calendar with PC

How do you set up Calenders in iPhone4 so that it syncs with PC calendar?  My iPhone4 was set up with two calenders (when you clikc Show All Calendars) but the engagement came up twice in my Calender so I deleted one calendar and then when I synced this with my PC all the engagements have now gone from iPhone4.  Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

    Hi,
Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click iTunes/Preferences then select the Devices tab.
If you have a backup there, connect your iPad to your computer. Help at this link for restoring from a backup.

I still have my contacts on my I-pod, but am reluctant to sync it with the PC
You can sync your contacts from the iPod to your computer. You shouldn't lose your contacts. Instructions here.
