Syncing iphoto across devices

Is there a way to sync iphoto on my imac and mbpro so that they have the same pics? I'm sure there is, but can't seem to figure it out.

What do you mean by "Sync".
The general term means when two Libraries (A and B) are compared and files in Library A are copied to Library B, while files in Library B are also copied to Library A so that both Libraries are identical.
This is bi-directional copying and you cannot do this automatically with iPhoto. No Syncing software is capable of parsing the iPhoto Library in this manner. One or both of your Libraries will be damaged if you try this.
You can have uni-directional copying - files in Library A are copied to Library B - this is essentially backing up. Obviously you can also copy from Library B to Library A.
The nearest you can get to syncing is to use iPhoto Library Manager to move files/Albums/Events plus associated metadata between Libraries. This process cannot be automated.

  • Domain joined Windows 8.1 using OneDrive to sync passwords across devices

Background : Domain joined Windows 8.1 devices using OneDrive to sync settings across devices, including "Passwords" under Other Settings. Domain user accounts are NOT local administrators.
Issue : When one drive goes to sync Wireless network security settings (passphrases etc...), a User Account Control (UAC) dialogue pops up from "Program Name : Networks" to enter administrator credentials. Domain users do not have administrator access
to local computers by strict policy.
The only way identified so far to stop the dialogue pop-up is to disable the password sync by group policy. However, that turns off ALL password syncing, including passwords desired to be sync'd, that do not encounter this issue.
Can the UAC be suppressed? Is there a way to NOT sync the wireless password settings?
Welcome any thoughts, direction, assistance, etc... :) Thanks much and have a good day!

    Hi,
I searched around but haven't find one way to achieve this, thus I'm afraid that we're unable to prevent the specific network password setting. the syncing settings for all passwords are combined together.
To suppress UAC, we can turn off the UAC under control panel\User Account or via GP  Computer Configuration -> Policies -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options ,but we don't recommend this.

  • Syncing email across devices

The directions given for syncing email across devices is not working for me.  I followed them precisely.  HELP!!! This is very frustrating.

We need better information.  What devices are you using?   Are you setting the account up using IMAP?

  • Syncing Jabber across devices

    All,
We are running 9.1 CUCM and IMP and I am looking to hopefully sync Jabber IM's across devices (Windows, iPhone, iPad).  This does appear to be working and I cannot find any documentation about if this a supported feature or not.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

We do not provide such feature. If anything, you'll only get the 1st message someone sends you, as it will "broadcast" it to all the devices in order to determine on which one you're active as you reply, and then it will direct all IM messages to that particular device.

  • Syncing ical across devices

Hi, I've recently started using the calendar application on iPad and iPhone, but noticed it hasn't automatically synced to my MacBook Pro. I looked at MobileMe but saw there was a charge for this service. Is there another way I can sync iCal across all my devices, please?
    Thanks a bunch.

    Hi,
Check your calendar where you are adding the event belongs to the MobileMe Calendar, otherwise will not synchronize.
    Best Regards

  • Syncing metadata across devices using the Cloud

I decided to authorize my work computer for iTunes Match. My main library is on my home computer. Once I saw all my music in the cloud on my work computer, I decided to do a little tweaking of the metadata. I didn't download the songs first, just changed the metadata. When I updated Match, the metadata went back to the way it was before. Do I need to download the songs to the local machine first before metadata changes will stick and sync to other devices? Or can I only make metadata changes on the home library?

Metadata changes (which can only be made from iTunes) are reflected immedietely on other Match-enabled iTunes libraries, but cause duplicates to be created on iOS devices.
For example, I changed the genre of song after it had been matched. It now appears under the old genre and the new one. I deleted the song from iTunes and iCloud, which removed it from my iPhone. However, when I added the song back in to iTunes and uploaded it to iCloud the duplicates appeared on my iPhone once again.
It's as if iCloud keeps a copy of every version of every song we match/upload just like Photo Stream. I just wish there was a Reset iTunes Match button.
Apple really needs to fix these bugs if they're going to take money from people and not extend ther subscription.

    Hi
I'm having issues with trying to get one set of contacts to display across all my devices.
Whereabouts do I create my master set of contacts and how do I then get that to be the same on my iPhone/laptop/iCloud/iPad?
Currently after much frustration, I have my Address book on my laptop exactly how I want it and also my iPhone but my iCloud contacts are still the old set.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • How do I stop syncing automatically across devices?

It seems Apple has decided I want to share everything on my iPhone with every other iDevice on my account.  Safari bookmarks, texts, phone calls, contacts, play lists, etc. automatically.  I don't!  I've rooted through setting to the seventeen different places I need to turn off sharing to stop this yet it still happens.  Last week, my wife ended up with my playlists on her Mini.  She deleted them and this is where it gets frustrating.
It deleted all the playlists from her Mini, my iPhone, my Mini and iTunes.  I had to restore them from a back up.  Then I saw my Safari bookmarks on her phone and figured she doesn't want those so I deleted them.  It deleted them from all devices.    How do I stop this?  Do I need to get my wife a separate account?  We share an account including the music, apps and movies we buy but we don't want to share everything!  I want my own contacts, booksmarks and playlists and she want's her's.  What is this sharing madness and how do I stop it?

  • Why has iCloud stopped syncing documents across devices?

Just recently, my iPhone has stopped syncing documents with my iPad. They are both on wifi yet they still wont sync with each other. I have gone through all the settings on both devices, and I can't seem to find anything wrong. I have even tried syncing both of them with itunes, but yet the documents still wont appear on both devices. Any recommendations besides restoring both of them?

Had the same problem. iCloud failed on my iPhone and on my iPad2.
Turned out, in my case, to be a corrupt contacts-database. I have 176 contacts on the iCloud-website, but only 50 of them turned up on my iPhone, In addition to all of the problems mentioned in this thread.
This is how I solved it:
    - Synced iCloud contacts with my Outlook 2010 (PC): http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html
    - Copied the new Outlook iCloud contacts-folder to an empty or new Outlook contacts-folder.
    - Deleted all contacts on my iCloud web-site.
    - Waited for Outlook iCloud-folder to sync to empty state.
    - Copied contacts (from the second step) back to the Outlook iCloud-folder.
    - Waited for sync to copy contacts to the iCloud web-site.
    - Did a factory reset on my iPhone to be able to reinsert my iCloud-account. Everything works fine!
Easier on my iPad: just removed/added the iCloud-account to get it to work again

  • Syncing Apps across devices

    Hello everyone,
My question is - how can I share the Apps I have downloaded across all devices?  I have a couple of devices, but they each have their own set of Apps.  I'd like to put some Apps from Device 1 to Device 2 and some from Device 2 to Device 1 etc but I am not sure how to do it.
Does anyone out there have an easy fix to help me out?  Thanks in advance.
    Lynn

    Hi LynnCheah,
If your devices are using the the same Apple ID the easiest thing is to enable automatic downloads.

For existing purchases you can download the past purchases you want.

  • Syncing bookmarks across devices

    Hi,
I would like to "clean up" my Safari bookmarks collection, but I am not sure which version would be treated as "authentic" by iCloud.
I'd like to do the clean-up on the iMac (this then would be the "authentic" version). But how to avoid that the messy versions, which are still on the other devices (iPhone and iPad and my wife's MacBook), will be "merged" with the authentic version, rather than just plainly deleted and overwritten with the authentic version?
    Thanks in advance for ideas/suggestions/solutions!
    Cheers
    Veit
P.S. Why are these bookmarks NOT visible if I log into the iCloud from the web? I thought this was the whole idea about the iCloud, that you'd have all your data, like contacts, calendars and bookmarks available, even if you logged in from another computer!?!

If you are already syncing Safari with iCloud, then you should have the same set of bookmarks on all devices. Any changes that you make on one of them will be propagated to the others, replacing whatever is already there. You can't see your bookmarks on the iCloud website because that feature has not been implemented by Apple.

  • Syncing deletions across devices.

I cleaned up my iPhoto library but the changes and deletions do not sync to my iPad.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for your response and sorry for the lack of clarity.  I'll try again.
I went into iPhoto on my MacBook and deleted approximately 500 photos and also moved some photos to other events and renamed other events.
For syncing, I plugged my iPad 2 into my MacBook and they did an automatic sync.
On my MacBook, iPhoto shows 1,496 photos while the status bar at the bottom of the window in iTunes that shows the amount of space used by various items shows 1,987 photos on my iPad.  In addition, in Photos on my iPad, there are many, many duplicates.  When I go into Albums > Events in Photos on my iPad, they seem to be organized correctly and the deletions have been made.  So, I think the question is how I get the photos themselves to sync with the deletions I made on the MacBook.

  • Syncing messages across devices.

I use skype in 3 different ways , Skype for Desktop, Skype for Windows (that tile style app) and skype beta on Outlook, none of the converstion get synced when I move to other one. If timezone is issue it should display somewhere around "yesterday" or even "week", but no luck.

    HI,
Syncing when using an Apple ID  (which the Touches and iPads can only do) needs you to create a Start Point.
If you are using Messages on your computer and were using the Apple ID on the iPad before it is best to turn everything Off  so that when you turn things On again all devices contact the iMessages server.
There is an issue with iPhones in that they can send Messages from the iPhone Number and the Apple ID.
iMessages sent from the iPhone Number will not sync (At this Present time) to the Apple ID.
In Messages beta I actually removed all my Messages on my iPhone to create the Start Point.
