Syncing ipod touch 4G on 2 PCs with different iTunes library
First, I know Syncing should be to one iTunes lib on one computer. However, I basically want to transfer all content on my wife's itouch to my itunes lib on my laptop (sort of a backup). Considering that the itouch syncs to her itunes lib on a different pc, is there a way for such transfer?
When I connect the itouch to my laptop, it offers to transfer some purchases but does not copy apps, photos, videos from the itouch to my laptop. The alternative it gives me is to replace all content on the itouch with content from my itunes lib.

I have created an iTunes account on my current computer for my daughters ipod touch and tried connecting my ipod nano and it won't sync and says that it is associated with another iTunes library so how do I merge the two libraries?
You do not merge libraries.
iDevices sync to one and only one computer.
If you want a single library, you manually move the content from one library to another... all content will still be associated with the Apple ID it was acquired with. -

With your iPod connected to your computer and iTunes running, select your iPod form the left pane, click the File menu in top bar, from there select "transfer purchases from iPod"

Please help, I am constanly re importing songs, I have to re sync my ipod to my library each time i plug it in, and I am unable to import songs from my media player, any ideas?

Even though it is the same music in iTunes, iTunes does not see it as the exact same library because you had to re-add all the songs to it.
You will need to erase and sync and you iPod will simply end up as it is now.
It's like of your house burns down and you rebuild it exactly the same, it is still not the "same" house it was. -
My computer is old and keeps freezing up. I need to get my Itune purchases to a new computer. I messed up and synced my Ipod with my new computer before I moved my library over. Now my Ipod has no songs on it and the songs are frozen in my old computer. Is there anyway to get my songs onto my new computer and have my Ipod touch sync with my new computer. Or have I lost all of my songs? HELP

I have changed the Genre of my much of music in the "music" file to reorganise my music. I expected these changes to be reflected in my Touch after I syncronised the two but nothing changed.

I am using ipod shuffle. Now it's having some songs.these songs was synchronised with my old desktop itune library. Now i changed to laptop and downloaded latest itune software. Now i need to add more songs to ipod without change old songs on ipod. How it's possible? Please help.The way iTunes and iPods are designed is not compatible with what you want to do. The best approach would be to open iTunes on your old desktop, and make a backup of your iTunes library, from which you can copy across all the songs from your old library onto your new laptop - not just the ones that were synced to the shuffle. The other approach is to search online for a utility that will copy songs off an iPod without syncing it, add those songs to your new library, and then erase-and-sync the Shuffle. This way, you only get to save whatever was synced to the Shuffle at the last sync. -
I am trying to transfer my music and apps from my iPod Touch to my laptop computer's itunes library so that I can update the IOS. I have tried "Transfer Purchases from iPod Touch under File/Devices and nothing seems to happen. The itunes library on my laptop is still empty and everything is still on my ipod Touch. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or how I can make this happen so I don't lose it all?

How do you set up a different ipad on same computer with different itunes library
I am trying to update a clients ipad (who does not have access to internet at his residence) on my personal computer. When I open up itunes with his apple ID, I continue to get my itunes library information. I don't want to mix my information with his information. How do you set up a different i pad/itunes on the same computer? What I need to do is update the version of his i pad as his i pad is version 4.2.1. Thank you

It appears a window saying "The iPod can not sync. There is an internal error of the device" I thought it was an error from my ipod but now i have a new one and it appears the same message

You will not lose anything. The new iPod will be recognized as a separate device. It can be configured completely differently than your existing one.

I'm trying to recreate a iTunes library on a new computer, and when connecting the iPod it asks if I want to sync with the current iTunes Library as it is not the original one (old computer houses the original one). Yes, synching to a different iTunes library will erase any content on the iPod touch that is not in the new iTunes library. If there is content on your iPod you wish to keep, you need to get it into iTunes before you allow it to sync your iPod. For content purchased from the iTunes Store, see this support article:
