Syncing issues and avoiding losing at&t unlimited plan if restore is used

I am suddenly having syncing issues when I try and sync my 3G ipad.
I am not sure what has caused this. I did take advantage of last week's software update. Now, when I turn the ipad on, there is a graphic of a serial cord, and when I do get it to connect with itunes, it urges me to restore
the software.
I was one of the early purchasers of the ipad, and so qualified for the AT&T unlimited flat rate per month plan. I don't want to lose this subscription.
I had an Apple express appt. this morning, but never received the phone call!
I even tried to cancel it online after 30 minutes elapsed, but received the message that the "communication was unavailable!"
I am wondering if anyone with this special plan has gone through the restore process, and if that ended up wiping out your election for the 3G plan,
and caused a hassle for you. I like having this $30/mo plan and don't want
to lose it. Thanks in advance for any advice.

One other person posted that he lost his plan during the update. If you loose your plan all you have to do is call AT&T to get it reinstated. SInce your iPad says connect to iTunes, you have to restore your iPad. You have no other choice.

    My newly purchased 16GB phone will no longer launch the free apps I have downloaded. I followed some directions that said to delete them from the phone and then sync from iTunes (after logging off and then back on iTunes). I get the error message:

    Since the CC app messed up again and yet another reinstall, it is working (sort of, after several sync failures of lrcat) properly, including the menu, all be it very slowly considering the fast upload I have.
    As is the setting sync finally.

  • CC application file sync issue and CC App broken menu..

    1. File sync from Photoshop CC has stopped working.
    Photoshop reports the last sync time and date in edit>sync settings.
    However in my Application settings I get the following..
    Application settings are synced between many of your favorite desktop applications and Creative Cloud, allowing you to work consistently from any machine. To begin syncing, you will need to open your desktop application and click "Sync Settings Now".
    You currently do not have any synced settings.
    2. I have missing menu items in the CC app cog menu (I assume as reported on other threads) including "stop syncing", preferences/settings and other blank or greyed out items.
    Prior to that I had the also reported dead CC app issue and uninstalled and reinstalled the app, which fixed dead app but left the munu broken.

  • IPhone Sync issue (and album art messed up)

    Whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes, instead of just updating the media I have changed, it will randomly add anywhere between 30 to 300 songs that were already on my iPhone. It doesn't cause any problems with using the iPhone other then the fact that it takes a really long time to sync even when I don't change anything or add new media to sync with the iPhone.
    So far I have:
    -made sure I have the latest updates of iTunes and all software
    -re-set iSync
    -done an archive and install
    -had a genius appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and
    -they replaced my iPhone
    ...but my problems still exist. And on top of that, all of the album artwork on the iPhone is jumbled up. It looks fine in cover flow, but when I switch to the normal mode it will be the wrong artwork with the wrong song. My album artwork in itunes is not jumbled up, but all of the artwork for the movies and tv shows I have bought and downloaded from the iTunes Store has disappeared and I can't get it back by searching for album artwork.
    So, to recap, my 3 main problems are.
    1) iPhone Sync issue
    2) Album artwork jumbled up on iPhone
    3) TV Show and Movie artwork disappearing on iTunes
    If anyone can help your time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

  • Original iPad Sync Issues and random artwork

    My friend has been using an iPad (first generation) and he recently upgaded the software to iOS5.
    Lately, he has been having issues with the software: he cannot sync music to and from his iPad and he is having issues with the synced videos and their artwork.
    For example, he has a TV show called "Handy Manny" for his child to watch, but the artwork displayed for the show is irrelevant to the show itself.
    Does anyone know what may be the problem and how to correct it?

  • Sync Issues and Audio Drop-out from FCP to DVD Studio Pro

    I have edited a piece in FCP 5.1.4 and all audio/video is in perfect sync. I have been using this program for several years with no issues, until now. Upon exporting with compressor and importing into DVD Studio Pro, the audio is out of sync by 15 seconds and after that first 15 seconds there is simply NO audio, period.
    Any ideas? Please send the calvary...tight deadline and the hanging rope is getting shorter and shorter by the minute!

    Could be something got corrupted in DVD SP (preferences). I have had my audio act strangely and playback getting bogged down. Repairing permissions and deleting prefs works for this one for me. Did you do any recent upgrades to the OS or QuickTime?

  • Calendar and Outlook sync issues and inconsistencies

    Hello,
    These issues have existed since my first iPhone (3GS) and Outlook 2007, and they continue today with my 5S and Outlook 2010:
    1.  When I add an appointment on my iPhone calendar, after I sync with my PC the appointment in my Outlook calendar has a 99 day alarm and is marked as private.  I do not set either of these attributes when creating the appointment on my iPhone calendar.
    2.  Some all-day appointments that I create in Outlook show as 12am to 12am across two days on my iPhone calendar.
    3.  Some all-day appointments that I create in Outlook show as No Time on the iPhone, others show as the entire day.
    4.  After syncing through iTunes, some iPhone calendar items that have specific times get moved to the no time area in Outlook.
    5.  Notes for calendar appointments lose their formatting when I edit and update the note on my iPhone.
    Looking for resolutions to the above annoyances.

    There was a setting I hadn't found in the PC Companion software:
    On the start sync page there is a settings heading next to a spanner on the righthand side - this takes you to sync settings
    Select Personal Data Selection and then the properties button for Calendar
    You can then set the sync to select all your appointments or a subset.
    I hope that this helps someone - it has taken hours to find this setting!

  • IOS8 Ford Sync Issues and Apps Crashing!

    Hi all,
    I saw that there are others that are experiencing the same issues, but I can't reply for some reason, so in an effort to get Apple on board with fixing the issue. I am starting a new thread - Apologies for the length, but I am really annoyed...
    My phone is syncing okay via bluetooth in my 2013 Ford Explorer, as far as actual calls go, but I typically have to plug it in to my system to have access to voice control for music, a consistent issue between the MS operating system in the car and Apple. Anyway, I have noticed several issues over the course of the last few updates. 1st, they (I am not sure if "they" means, Apple or Microsoft) finally corrected the read text feature, and then MS updated the car operating system and I can no longer use this feature. Super frustrating when we are trying to be safe... but a minimal issue. Then, the alerts won't come through if the phone is plugged in, only when unplugged via BT. Again, not a huge problem while driving, but annoying.
    THEN the real music issues began. I started noticing that the music title was correct, but the album cover was  way off, some days it is all the way off, and other days it is less. After previous update, when I plug my phone in to the USB port, it will start at the beginning of my songs list. The most annoying part about this, is that when I close apps, I am very careful about keeping my playlist open, as the first song I have is kind of annoying. I know Tiff, DELETE the song, but there is a place for it depending on my mood. Anyway, I digress...  I assume this is another app crash issue. Now, with iOS8, when I plug it in, the car states it is on autoplay, but nothing happens, I have to hit play it on on my phone... which has crashed, AGAIN, so I can't use the fast play option from a locked screen due to the crash, so I have to search for my play list. Becuase of the MS/Apple issue, I can't use the hands free feature via BT, becuase of the apps crashing it has to "Download" my playlists... but ONLY if it is plugged in as previously noted. So, while I realize I sound spoiled, the point is, the reason I bought this particular model is to get the My Ford Touch. I want to be able to use the safety features... And the reason I stay with Apple is because I am loyal, and the thought of getting my music on another device stresses me out... I am already having issues transferring from a PC to my new iMac... PS I carry 2 phones for work purposes, with 2 different providers, and both are experiencing the issues, not to mention my husband's too.
    Now, to face the app crashes... It is getting worse every day, most apps are constently crashing. The Weather app takes a really long time to load current weather and Facebook crashes so many times while it is loading it isn't even worth checking unless you have time to load it over and over. Beta needs to be really tested and tested by real hard core users to get this figured out PRIOR to launch. I would expect some small issues, but these seem like a lot. Fix the crashing, that will solve problem 1 of the music not starting where left off. and Fix the auto start when plugged into devices. I have checked all of the settings I can think of and nothing.
    Finally, the entire phone freezes all the time. multiple times daily I have to do a hard start...

    Try shutting your iPhone totally off. Then wait 60 seconds and turn back on.

  • BB DM for Mac -- Calendar Syncing issues and now no sync at all

    I have a Bold 9000.  Was beginnning to experience frequent errors with PocketMac so went to BB to look for upgrades.  Downloaded new DM for mac -- PocketMac having been eliminated and assuming that BB would not post downloads with major bugs.  Installed DM, set up sync.  Softward told me there was insufficient memory for my iTunes playlist (already on my phone with PocketMac) but I sync'd anyway (figuring that if I couldn't get music, that was the least of my worries -- should have been my first clue).  Sync required me to turn on iSync to convert Entourage calendar entries to iCal (which I do not use, but which BB DM requires).  Although Bold, Entourage and iCal were all set to Pacific Time Zone -- calendar entries from Entourage moved 7 hours forward in iCal and on BB.  After several hours of attempted fixes, I uninstalled BB DM and attempted to reinstall PocketMac (by retrieving software in my backup files because it is no longer available for free download on BB) only to learn that the uninstall evidently left PocketMac with an inability to recognize my phone.  NOw I can't sync at all and I'm left with a screwed up calendar to boot.
    What is BB going to do about this mess?  Incidentally, my music is still all on the phone (despite deselecting the original playlist on the first sync when the software warned there was insufficient memory) with random duplicates of some of the songs.

    I just fixed the 7 hour sync problem.  The time zone on my Blackberry was set to Casablanca!  Once I changed it to the correct time zone and resynced my calendar everything showed up in the right place.

  • Unable to use recently downloaded fonts, CC sync issue and connection problems.

    Today was especially interesting.
    CC would say it could not connect and to retry connection, when I clicked retry connection is would fail, over, and over - I waited 15+ minutes for it to finally connect only to tell me "Coming Soon: CC will deliver fonts from Typekit to your desktop"? https://www.dropbox.com/s/5yci79zv3opmx12/CCForgotFonts.jpg < WHAT!? So now I had to search the Adobe forum to figure out why... More wasted time.
    Solution: LOGOUT from CC pref and log back in, then click the resync button tucked down at the bottom corner... No Auto-sync? No notification that my syncing was not enabled; Really?
    Shouldn't it be a little more intellegent, maybe remember that I just downloaded these fonts and to perhaps give me 30 days before asking me to login to verify If I still had an active CC account in order to use the fonts? This is starting to wear thin.
    Everyday I have to make sure I login to CC because if I don't I may not have a function or font. Then there is the licensing I have to accept each time because I logged out; each time!
    (I have deleted folders and reinstalled CC to 'fix' this, only to have it stop working after a day or two, even on a local administrator account and domain admin account)
    I'm just thankful I do not travel anymore because I couldn't with CC. I would have to install CS6 in order not to worry, that should say something about this new Adobe model.

    Autodiscover does resolve the details correctly but I do have two warnings saying that "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name on the site". One is showing for exchange1.mycompany.local and the other one is showing

    A few things:
    Pls verify that you have changed all InternalURLs to + AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri in ClientAccessServer. This is needed since you don't have the servers FQDN in your certificate. See

  • Lotus Notes Traveler sync issues and problems

    I could connect my Palm Pre2 to our company's Lotus Notes Traveler successfully.
    It is not as straight as on iPhone as my colleagues, the only point is to indicate completely the path to the Microsoft Exchange link, like:

    Then using my lotusnotesID and the Internet Password made it working REAL FINE.
    I could get my mailbox, agenda and contacts exchanged with the pre2, terrific!!!
    Some limitations though:
    1) Tasks and notes are unfortunately NOT WORKING at all.
    2) the calendar does not synchronize more than two weeks in the past, but it seems that in the Pre2, it is a limitation for any Microsoft Exchange server. I have another MS Exchange account, not the lotus one, and the limitation is the same, in the past NOT OLDER than TWO WEEKS!!
    (When i think that my Palm TX, Tungsten2, Palm W, etc, did synchronize 10 years of agenda, this is really sad that a new high tech device cannot make it!! I need to know what i have been doing last year or the year before in my professional life. iPhone sync shows EVERYTHING!!)
    MAJOR PROBLEM IS FOLLOWING
    This worked for about three weeks, and then I started to have a weird problem.
    It started on some received mails, and now it does it on every mail, all mails are shows properly in the mail list in the mail program: received from M.smith, on May 22, "Dear M.XXXX i think  ..." which shows the first words of the mail.
    So top display is ok.
    When i open the mail, it says "Retrieving Mail Text", it loops for 30 seconds back giving an error message and asking to try again. Trying again doesnot retrieve the body of the mail either.
    ==> NO WAY TO READ THE MAIL COMPLETELY!!
    It worked fine for the first three weeks NO PROBLEM AT ALL!!
    I have tried my Lotus Traveler account on an iPod and iPhone using the same MS Exchange configuration, and there
    NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
    So it is in the Palm Pre sync where something goes wrong.
    I reset my PALM completely, and created a brand new user from scratch, reconnected it to the Lotus Traveler account and I got the same error, so it is not a matter of database too large in the Pre2 or something else.
    It is INSIDE the PalmPre synergy sync itself.
    Reading my mail from other sources like Google mail, or from a POP account works like a charm.
    I don't know if someone at HP Webos can do something, but this is a message in a bottle.

    Hi,
    I don't know what happened, but one of a sudden, on Monday afternoon, everything worked back ok again.
    I was about to show to a friend the famous message "cannot retrieve mail's body", but then the mail's body was retrieved from God knows where and it came direct on my pre screen.
    5 minutes before it didn't work, 5 minutes later it did work.
    I didnot change anything to my profile or pre or my lotus account.
    I just don't understand why this worked again.
    The only difference I can think of, but I am not 100% sure, is that when I "transfer" a mail to someone else; the message I send is truncated generally just after the list of the mail recipients;
    Sorry not to be able to say more than that, but it is weird for me too, how did it come to work?!?

    Ok, I have a G4 Dual and a MBPro C2D which I use .Mac syncing to keep my iCal items synced up (sunk up? ...
    Anyway, although each calendar looks identical to each other, there seems to be some sort of confusion as when the desktop syncs, it tells me there are 413 modified items... but even if I accept it, a few hours later, 183 come up and then a few hours after than 413 again. I'm happy to remove all of the entries from one calendar and let the other feed it fresh but I am not sure of the protocol to do that correctly and I don't want to lose any entries obviously.
    Thoughts, tips, or links would be appreciated.

    The actual performance depends on the type of query and what kind of fields you query for each file. CFileFind does a batch query that can be used as a cache for certain popular fields. However if you want to read more than what it returns, then you have
    to hit the disk for each file. At this point you may as well use IShellFolder::EnumObjects to do paging which you can use a virtual list to implement (so instead of reading 1.5k files, you read from the 30-40 files on the current displayed page, and read again
    when the user switch pages).

  • Syncing multiple ipod touches with sync cart and not losing apps

    I have inherited a apple sync cart with 2 drawers of touches for use in grades k-5. They have not all been synced using the cart (why? I don't know). I would like to sync them all and merge the apps. Is this possible? Some of the teachers have downloaded some great apps that I'd hate to lose. Many of them are free but some were paid.
    We sync using a macbook. Thank you.

    You can e-mail them to yourself - one at a time. They will not be of the original quality.
    You really should back up info/music/pics as hard drives can and do fail.

  • Sync issue and lost contacts

    My wife and I share an iTunes account.  We have never had any problems until now.  She hasnt updated her phone in a long time.  Her screen shattererd on her 4 and I still had my old one so she switched to mine.  When she did, I lost all of my contacts on my 5 and it all reverted to her contacts. (not good by the way because my iphone is also my work phone.)  Everytime I try to restore my phone to a previous backup, it comes up and my contacts look normal for about 15 seconds, then my phone automatically reverts back to her contacts.  I have tried turning off contacts sync in the settings but it still doesnt help.  I have no idea what to do here as I am running out of ideas and I REALLY need all of those numbers back.  Any help or tips would be extremely appreciated.

    Not sure if this will work for you but this method was developed by another user to all one to restore contacts from a backup while preventing iCloud from overwriting them.  If you wife's contacts aren't backed up, do that first using the app My Contacts Backup as this approach will require deleting them from iCloud.
    Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
    Start the restore from iCloud back up.
    Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
    As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
    Wait for the time out confirmation.
    Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn off contact syncing (keep contacts when prompted).
    Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
    Delete the iCloud contacts from iCloud.com on a computer.
    Navigate to settings > iCloud and turn on contact syncing (merge contacts when prompted).

    Ive had the annoying problem that some appointments created on the iPhone sync to iCal and some simply dont. I had one this morning, so I thought I would go ahead and do the advanced "Replace information on this iPhone". so i checked the Calendars button. Clicked Sync in iTunes and it not only wiped out my iPhone calendar, but it totally wiped out all of my calendars in iCal. All local and subscribed ones! At this point im stunned and disappointed. Anyone have a similar problem and a solution to recover your calendars?
