Syncing issues to Outlook via google mail

I have had the iPhone 4s for three weeks and after countless hours and today a visit to the Genuis Bar, I am still not seeing it sync to Outlook properly.  Additionally I am syncing to iCal on my Mac and that is not consistent.  I am beyond frustrated.  Oh, by the way in the process all my calendar events on my business laptop were lost.  HELP!

Hello sue. This sounds like some fishy Google move to get you in their services. Are you certain it's Firefox and not Google?
In any case, try checking Tools > Options > Applications and change the "mailto" service for "ask always" or something like that. Maybe that's your problem?
Hope this helps.

  • Help. iPhone 5, calendar sync issues using Outlook. Doesn't work. Does any kind soul have a solution

At my wits end. iPhone 5, OS 7.1.1, using Outlook as mail, contacts and calendar but unable to find a solution to sync everything. I have my own domain and use a small ISP. It's not an Exchange server account. I've trawled countless forums but to no avail. Can anyone help? Steve.

Mavericks doesn't sync contacts or calendar via iTunes anymore. Apple removed 'sync services' so Outlook doesn't have the sync engine to move data between iOS & the Mac. It will still work on iTunes 11 on earlier OS X's.
On 10.9 you can either use iCloud, setup your own contacts & calendar server (OS X server, Biakal, Owncloud & many others) or you can find another online service to use to sync data, like Google apps.
There is a 200 page thread on the issue…

  • Sync issue with Outlook: Notes and Contacts ok - Calendar stopped syncing

    Greetings,
Syncing (via USB cable) between my iPhone 3GS (3.1.2) and Outlook 2003 SP3 (Cal, Contacts, and Notes) has never been an issue until my recent upgrade to iTunes 9.0.2.25. Since then, I noticed that my Calendar was no longer syncing either way. When I hit "Sync", iTunes would indicate that it's going through the motion of syncing calendar but no synchronization of the items take place. Contacts and Notes continue to sync fine. One off behavior is that when I connect my iPhone via USB, I get a pop-up window with "Apple iPhone" header
indicating "Camera connected" with option to pick an app (ie. MS Word) to lauch for this action. Never seen this pop-up. I just cancel out of it.
Few things I did to try to fix the issue, in vain:
    1. iTunes->Info->Advanced: forced a "Replace information on this iPhone" - no changes to my calendar
    2. iTunes->Edits->Preference->Devices->Reset Sync History - all calendar entries on iPhone are gone
    3. "Repair/Reinstall" iTunes by running the install executable
I stopped by the Genius Bar for an appointment related to my battery issue and asked the fellow about my sync issue. He wasn't "aware" of the issue.
Anyone has a suggestion for me to try? Thanks!!!

I tried now several things to resync my data cause it realy s*cks without. I tried to install itunes 9.0.2.25, 9.0.1 and 9.0.0 but nothing helped so far. I also tried to set Outlook 2003 as standard program for mailing (one forum wrote that helps, too) and I tried to find out if something blocks the communication betwen Outlook 2003 and itunes. But nothing could help so far, still no sync.
I find it interesting that when I connect my iphone to my PC an then switch in itunes to the device and the "info" pane where I can setup all my sync data with PIM programs that Outlook still remains there as default synced application. But the subfolder in contacts also the mail accounts that should be synced cannot be seen. The option to force itunes to overwrite the calendar, contacts, notes and mailaccount data on the iphone no matter what can be selected. But when i do the synchronisation all of these options are unmarked again.
Atm I'm thinking of tracing the problem down with Filemon.

  • Syncing two address books (via Google Apps) - select which gets new entry?

    Hello.
I have two Google Apps accounts (one is personal, one is work) which I have synced to my phone via the MS Exchange option when creating a new account. Everything works great (mail, calendar, contacts) with regards to syncing, etc. but, I am having a small issue with contacts. When I create a new contact via the iPhone, I don't know where I select which account the new contact should be created in. Does anyone know where I can select this so it's not always adding to the one account?
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

Follow-up: can I do the magic in Bento? (Please, tell me I do not need to go down on either of the AppleScript or FileMaker paths...)

  • Having sync issues with Outlook 2011 since upgrading to Mavericks

    Hi All,
My work Macbook Pro 13" is having issues syncing my inbox and sent mail automatically. It's a hit or miss if I recieve emails in my inbox in a timely mannor with out pressing the Send/Recive button (even when i press it takes minutes to update). My Sent Items can show up an hour later  even if I hit the Send/Recieve button.
All my mail is there and shows up/syncs on my iPhone quickly. I upgraded to Mavericks right when it came out and have only been having these sync issues for the last week or so.
I've cleared my mail cache and that didn't work. My calandar reminders and contacts don't seem to have any issues and no other apps have been preforming slow or strangely.... just my VERY important work email. My tech guys are stumped and I wanted to try you guys before they do a major rehaul of my system
    Thanks!

A new Outlook Identity will most likely solve your issues. If you have any data under "On My Computer" folders, see this link:
How to move your data to a new Identity
BTW, how much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities to find this info. You need a minimum of 10% free but 15-20% is recommended.
Outlook gets very sluggish when you are low on disk space. If you have a bunch of older Identities from previous rebuilds you can delete these to help free up space.

  • PC Sync issues with Outlook and Iphone

Can anyone point me to a discussion group which can address the sync issues I am having with my iphone since upgrading itunes and iphone last night on my windows PC.
Most discssions threads are mac orientated and as a result I rarely get a response to my issues!
I am not able to carry out any syncs on my iphone as it crashes outlook.
I appreciate any advice to where top look for an answer to this.

I found a workaround and I hope this helps someone, I had a client with this issue today. Her iPhone synced up great with the outlook calendar but not with the contacts and that was what was important to her. Here is my words of advice.......
    1. Please don't bash apple on this issue, I have seen many posts that do this on this topic.
Apple seems to be releaseing full exchange support in June.
    2. Here is what I think is going on.
Take a look at WHAT type of set up you have on your outlook (imap, Exchange, or POP)
If you use your outlook with imap or exchange, outlook will not create a .pst file, you will have a .ost file which seems like itunes sync cant read and you get an error. With a pop account you get a .pst file.
    Here is what I did.
I made a personal folder and copied all of her contacts to it and changed the DEFAULT mail folder to point to the newly created personal folder. (personal folders make a .pst file)
then I went into iTunes and started a sync and all the contacts got synced up with her phone. ( she was very very happy )
Hopefully in June the iPhone will have full exchange support.
Hope this helps and please correct me if i'm wrong.
    Thanks

  • Sync issues between Outlook 2003 and Centro

I purchased a new Centro about a week ago, and I have been syncing it with Outlook - I thought it was working fine, until I realized that calendar items that were added to my Centro were not showing up in Outlook.  I reinstalled the Hotsync Manager, and was able to get it to sync both ways again, but after shutting down my computer, I am back to the same issue where it will not sync with Outlook.  Today, I installed the Palm Desktop, but I do not want to use it if I don't have to, since I would rather have to only have one program open for e-mail, calendar, etc., in addition to Outlook giving me more options with my calendar organization.  Any ideas on why I keep losing the ability to sync with Outlook?
    Post relates to: Centro (Verizon)

This may be caused by an outdated version of Chapura PocketMirror, the software that lets you synchronize your device with Outlook.
    To help prevent data loss
Chapura recommends that you download and install the latest updater of the PocketMirror Standard software. We recommend you update to the latest version from Chapura's downloads site, www.chapura.com/palmsupport. PocketMirror Standard v.3.1.2 (and later) resolves this issue.

  • Sync issue with Outlook 2010

    Hi,
Not sure if this would be the correct place for this, but here is my issue
We have a client with Exchange 2010, and Outlook 2010 and they seem to be getting sync issues. the error that comes up is

Now I have tried some of the standard troubleshooting steps but it seems to keep happening.
This is what I have tried
    1) turned off any 3rd part addins
    2) turned on outlook logging, but it does not seem to indicate any errors, or I may not be reading it right
    3) removed the ost file, and let outlook recreate it
    4) turned off cache mode, and turned off offline file, re-open outlook turned back on offline file, cache mode
    5) removed exchange support files for outlook, and repaired office
So I am not sure where to proceed from here.
    Thanks

  • BB BOLD 9700 sync issues with Outlook for MAC

    Hi Support,
I hope that you can help me?  I have been having issues with my BB calendar not being able to sync with my Outlook for MAC calendar.  I am using BB OS 6.0, Blackberry Desktop software 2.2.0 and Mac OS X version 10.7.2.
I have been able toget around the calendars not syncing but this morning I added iCal to iCloud, stupid move as it erased my entire calendar.
i was wondering if someone could help me restore my Outlook calendar and have my BB and calendar sync properly.
    Please Help!!!

Hello and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
The BlackBerry Desktop Software needs a local calendar for sync. It does not support the iCloud.
You will need to create a new local calendar in your iCal to continue synchronizing with the Desktop Software.
As for restoring your Outlook calendar, you will need to talk to Apple for assistance.

  • Sync Issues with outlook 2007

here is the issues in a nutshell.....
    1) When I put an appointment into my blackberry as a full day, it syncs with
my outlook as a 2 day appointment. This also happens when I do an all day
appointment in outlook it changes to a 2 day appointment on my blackberry.
    2) Also when I put an appointment into my blackberry at a specific time eg.
8:00am meeting it syncs in outlook at 7:00am meeting, one hour earlier…….
    Strange
I have been through all the blogs and crackberry.com, and this one but can’t seem to find
    a resolution…..
I have downloaded the DST patch for both outlook and blackberry but nothing
changes…… adjusted both clocks on Outlook and my Blackberry as well.  I have verified that the BIOS clock is also correct.
I am running the blackberry desktop manager 4.3, Outlook 2007, and have a
blackberry curve 8310, that has v4.2.2.153 software on it.
    Any help would be appreciated
    thanks in advance

    ok...
From experience, I can tell you the two calendars are both default calendars with iCloud. 'Work in Cloud' probably doesn't contain any of previous inputs because your iphone probably defaults to your regular calendar.
For me, I was able to get a good understanding by looking at the icloud calendar at icloud.com and the outlook calendar side by side. I recommend doing so, and playing around with things so you can figure out how they work.
With Outlook, you are going to have locally stored stuff (like Contacts), and your cloud-stored stuff (like Contacts in Cloud). That is why you are seeing two different sets of data. It looks like you dont have any locally stored contact, which is fine. All of your contacts are in iCloud (or...Contacts in Cloud), which should correlate to your iphone. again, it might be best to just pull up icloud.com, and put it side by side with outlook. it helped me get a good understanding of how it works.

  • Best Way to Sync Iphone with Outlook - Parallels, Google Cal or Mobile Me?

I just bought a macbook pro. I must sync with outlook because the software I use in my business syncs its calendar and contacts with outlook and then I sync my iphone to outlook. It seems there are three options. I am interested in feedback on these or if I am missing an option.
Parallels 4.0 - This will apparently let me sync with Outlook. I have not tried it. But this would then require me to keep all my photos and music on the Windows partition, which I would prefer not to do.
Google Calendar. I could sync my outlook with Google Calendar and then sync Google Calendar with ICal and then sync on Apple OS side. This seems clunky, but I get to keep my music and photos and whatnot on Apple OS side.
Mobile ME. I think this is an option but I have not investigated it. I think I can sync with outlook and ICal kind of like google calendars but am not sure. Not that thrilled at spending 100.00 year for this service.
Any input. Other options? Let me know.

You can sync iTunes content with a single iTunes library. You can sync iTunes content and transfer photos with iTunes on your OS X side, and sync contacts and calendar events only direct with Outlook with iTunes on the Windows side. Your iPhone can have different sync preferences with iTunes on different computers, and in this case with iTunes on your OS X partition, and with iTunes on your Windows partition.

    Hi,
Which version of Exchange server are you using?
This issue may occur if the Outlook client computer is configured to use proxy settings when Windows Internet Explorer is used. However, the IP address of the Exchange Client Access Server (CAS) server is not in the exclusion list.
To resolve the issue, Please follow:
    1. Start Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
    2. On the Connections tab, click LAN settings.
    3. Select the Bypass proxy server for local addresses check box, and then click Advanced.
    4. Type the FQDN of the Exchange CAS server, and then click OK.
    5. Restart Outlook.
Please let me know the result.

    Hi,
Do you mean other machines that configured with the same email account don't have the issue?
Have you ever tried to manually download the Offline Address Book? On the ribbon, go to SEND/RECEIVE tab>Send/Receive Groups>Download Address Book...
If issue persists, please first check that the Background Intelligence Transfer Service (BITS) service is running:
Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools, and then click "Services".
In the list of services, click "Background Intelligence Transfer Service", and then make sure that the status of this service is set to "Started".
Outlook uses BITS to connect to the URL that's provided by the Autodiscover service. (Outlook use Autodiscover service to automatically configure themselves for access to Exchange server.)
    Hope this helps.

  • Sync Issue for Outlook 2003 Resolved

First let me say that this has been a bit of a laborious project. I was able to successfully resolve the sync issue on my connection and was replicated on a second machine and second iPhone using the same process.
NOTE: This worked with the following: Windows XP Pro, (Version 2002 SP2) and Outlook 2003. Your results may vary!
With your iPhone NOT connected, do the following:
Go to the Microsoft Website under Downloads and be certain you have the latest Service Pack 2 for Outlook and all other Windows security updates downloaded installed on your machine, then (IMPORTANT!) RE-START your machine!
    In Outlook:
    1. Go to Tools/Options/Other/Advanced Options/COM Add-Ins
    2. There should be two add-ins listed:
    - iTunes Outlook Addin
    - Outlook iTunes Sync Addin
    3. Be sure the boxes are checked for both items.
    4. Then under Help/About/Disabled Items, highlight and enable the iTunes add-in, if it is still disabled.
    5. Close Outlook, and RE-START your computer.
(Seems these add-in gets written into the Windows registry as well as the Outlook add-in manager.)
    6. Open Outlook and check Help/About/Disabled Items and the COM Add-ins to be sure the add-ins are recognized.
Connect your iPhone and sync. Once the sync process is complete, check your phone for any/all synced items...
Again, once this process worked on my machine, and was replicated on a second machine (Same OS, and Outlook version) so I know it can be done successfully without help from Apple tech support.
I'd be curious to hear from anyone trying this process to see if this works in a different setting, (i.e. OS version, etc.)
    Good luck!

I tried this, including rebooting my iPhone prior to resyncing it with Outlook, and there was no joy.
My symptom is that I can enter calendar items on the iPhone, and they appear on Outlook, but I can't enter calendar items on Outlook and have them appear on the iPhone.
My suspicion is this: I have multiple email accounts feeding into my Outlook account. I think that may have something to do with it. I've been waiting and reading the forums here, because I've been concerned that the iPhone support calls would be flooding in. But this is starting to be pretty annoying, so I'm going to try to call Apple and see if they can help. (And also with the "no additional mailbox" problem, which is also pretty durn annoying.)
If I find an answer, I'll post.
