Syncing iTunes to Outlook 2013

Just want to sync my calendars on my iPod touch to outlook on the desktop.  Currently have office 2010 installed. And that works fine. Looking to move to Office 2013 but NOT if iTunes can't sync to it. Have NO interest in any syncing involving any cloud either.  Just want to sync to outlook via iTunes. Bottom line:  does iTunes play well with Office 2013/Outlook 2013??

Hello,
Thanks for your answer...
I think I will install Office 2010 until Office 2013 will be officially supported. Especially in 64 bits !
I remember at the beginning of Office 2010, I need to wait the update for syncing again the iphone with Outlook through iTunes.
So, wait and see.
Thanks..
Best regards
M

  • Anyone  lose the contacts from their I-5 after syncing it with outlook 2013?

Has anyone lost the contacts on their phone after syncing it with outlook 2013.

You are correct. There is no other way to recover this material, and yes it would have been a good idea to backup the iPhone prior to the restore. Remember that a restore to a previous date deletes everything on the device and puts it back to the state of things on the date you choose. The texts and contacts would be gone. Did you possibly sync the contacts with a supported application on the computer? That is the only other way to recover contacts. They are designed to be synced with a supported application on the computer, or with a cloud service such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo.

  • Can you sync Itunes with outlook for mac

Can you synce Itunes with Outlook fo MAC 2011?

Not directly. What you do is set Outlook to sync to Apple's databases (Address Book, iCal, etc)  via Outlook's Tools menu -> Sync Services and then you can sync to an IOS device, which is what I presume you mean.

  • Contact Sync problem - Syncing contacts TO Outlook 2013 stopped working, whilst syncing contact FROM Outlook 2013 to iPhone still works.

    I've tried everything...
iPhone version: 5S with latest OS (v.8.1).
Outlook version 2013, on Windows 7, latest iTunes version (12.x)
I prefer NOT to use iCloud (as the representation of iCloud contacts in Outlook ignores the contacts' folder division, which is important to me).
I have an Exchange server, though the sync is directed to my local Outlook client.
All other settings looks good (again, syncing FROM Outlook TO iPhone works, but I need vice versa).
I've tried syncing with closed Outlook client. Tried resetting configuration, tried moving to iCloud and back etc.. All, just to see the problem persist. Newly created contacts on the PC get synced to the iPhone, while newly created contacts ON the iPhone, does not get synced to Outlook.
    Please HELP.

I have the same problem, when I sync the contacts they pass well from outlook to my iphone, but not the way around, indeed it changes my iphone contacts information and dismisses all the inputs that I already made in the iphone.

  • Where do I set up rules for conflict resolution when syncing iTunes with Outlook?

I just got an iPhone 5 and I'm coming from a Blackberry.  I've been syncing Outlook Calendar and Contacts to a portable device for over 10 years, even back in the day of the pocket pc and more recently the Blackberry.  My iPhone 5 syncs great and seemlessly with Outlook using iTunes.  I've had no issues as of yet.  The problem for me is, it just seems "too" easy.  I didn't see anywhere where I could set rules for conflict resolutions.  For example, if your pc says one thing but your iPhone says another, who wins and supercedes the other?  What if by accident your iPhone loses all of its data, then iTunes syncs with your pc - will it delete all the Outlook data on your pc because it thinks it's syncing with updated data from your iPhone?  (in my case data I've had for over 10 years)
With the Blackberry software it asked you to set up rules for conflict resolution when first connecting the phone (including an option to ask you first).  In my case, I chose to have it ask me whenever it discovered a conflict.  So whenever I synced, it specifically alerted me exactly how many items are being synced, and then if there were any conflicts, it'd stop and then ask me which device I want to supercede the other.  This gave me a lot of piece of mind.  Now after getting my iPhone and using iTunes to sync, it's been great so far but I have to say that I don't have as much piece of mind.  Does anyone have any feedback on how to set up conflict resolution with iTunes and Outlook or does it not exist at all?  Again, what would happen if there was a conflict between the two devices?

Yes! Thankyou for that. I had of course put the context.xml file in the web-inf directory.
I followed your example to the letter and it still wouldn't work. Or rather, I followed to the letter expect for the difference between "WEB" and "META".
Once I worked that out, it started working like a dream.
Note to anyone else who has a similar problem, make sure you REALLY look at the answer given. Make sure you REALLY do have all the files in the suggested places. It will save you time.
    Thanks again.

  • Only sync Outlook 2013 contacts to iCloud?

I don't want sync calendars, mails to iCloud, I just want to sync contacts in Outlook 2013 to iCloud. Can I choose that?
    Thanks

Since you only want to sync Contacts -- what about using iTunes? Here's some info. Obviously, it has some issues ... but maybe you'll have better luck?
Then someone posted this in another forum -- please note I don't know if it works as #2 concerns me:
    1. Un-installed iTunes.
    2. Deleted the AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer folder (***Careful: This contains all the back-ups. You can do a copy of this folder, but delete it from AppData/Roaming.)
    3. Re-started Windows.
    4. Downloaded and installed latest version of iTunes.
    5. De-activated all plug-ins from outlook except for the iTunes plug-in.
    6. Plug-in your iPhone and sync

  • Microsoft Account/s and Outlook 2013

    Please advise on this scenario:
John's email is hosted on a Smarter Mail Server [email protected]
John buys a new Windows 8.1 laptop with Office 365 installed and signs into his Microsoft account using his email address
    [email protected]
He gets an Outlook.com account [email protected]
He sets up Outlook to connect to his Smarter Mail server via IMAP
He adds his old Outlook 2010 PST data file archives to Outlook 2013
John's Windows Phone was set up by the phone shop last year with a different Microsoft account
[email protected] where all his contacts are stored
He adds an Exchange Active Sync account to Outlook 2013 to get his contacts from
    [email protected]
This is causing all sorts of problems. OST file errors. Incompatibility with Outlook 2010 PST files. Non-syncing of contacts etc.
How can John get all his mail, contacts and apps into one account across all devices - preferably his main Microsoft account
    [email protected]
He does not want emails labelled "Sent on behalf of"

Per your post, this should be the Topology, right?
In general, this operation is normal and wouldn't cause the issue you list. However, we still occur the following issue:
    1. OST file errors.
    2. Incompatibility with Outlook 2010 PST files.
    3. Non-syncing of contacts etc
For one, IMAP and EAS profile also use OST file as the data file. The problem appear since you add the Windows Live account into your profile, so I guess the root of issue is caused by Windows Live associated OST.
    For two, please view this:

For three, IMAP doesn't support contact sync. The problem is also related to Windows live account, I would like to know if you receive the email through live account smootly, check if there is any sync issue log in the
    Sync Issue folder
At last, you may totally create a new profile to check the result of Problem 1&3.

  • Why does iTunes 12.1 does not sync new calendar appointments with Outlook 2013?

After updating iTunes to 12.1 64 bit for windows my NEW appointments, contacts and notes are not syncing from Outlook 2013 to my iPhone 5 and iPad Air.  Syncing was working fine before I updated to iTunes 12.1.  I have disabled all add-ins in Outlook just in case they were the cause of the problem but that hasn't helped either.

Thanks all for sharing your experience.  I have finally done the following to carry on syncing:
    (1) Uninstalled all Apple services: update, mobile sync bonjour and anything else I could find that was provided by Apple (see Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
    (2) Restored Windows 8.1 to a relatively recent restore point.
    (3) The restore also provided me with the previous version of iTunes 12.0.1.26x64 in the Download folder (and not the later iTunes 12.1 version)
    (4) I installed this in Program Files (x86) - my first attempt to install this version of iTunes in Program Files did not work.
And I am now able to sync Outlook 2013 with my iPhone/iPad Air.
Also I have unticked the alert me to iTunes update in preferences ... just to be sure that I don't get into this mess again.
Just wondering how long does it take Apple to fix things that they are aware of - or is it a case of working to their next update schedule.

  • ITunes 12.1.0.7 64-bit not syncing with Outlook 2013 Calendar

After updating to iTunes 12.1.0.7, Outlook 2013 (on Windows 7) is no longer syncing (via USB).  It was working fine before.  I'm using an iPhone 6  on iOS 8.1.3.  iTunes doesn't indicate any errors, it just plain doesn't work.  Thoughts?

Same seems to go for new contacts as well!   I'm on Win8.1, and Outlook 2010.    All worked fine until I upgraded to 12.1.    Now only the contacts or calendar items that were in place prior to the upgrade get transferred.   Anything since the upgrade does not come across.   This is really an indicator that there are serious quality issues w/ Apple's iTunes.   And they wonder why people resist upgrading!

  • Have tried to install icloud 4.0 for windows and again it does not allow syncing with outlook 2013 calendar and contact using windows 8.1 and IOS 8.02 (unexpected error)? I thought itunes 12.0 and icloud 4.0 would solve issue but still same result.

I have tried to install icloud 4.0 for windows and again is does not allow syncing with outlook 2013 calendar and contact, using windows 8.1 and IOS 8.02 (get - unexpected error)?

Having same issues. had been syncing every few days with outlook 2007 contacts and calendar but since updated to 4.0.2 and latest itunes I get an error that it is unable to sync. I can't seem to find any solution.

  • ITunes sync with Outlook 2013 preparing to sync runs forever

iTunes sync with Outlook 2013 preparing to sync runs forever, what is the problem?

I have updated addresses and names in the iPhone. When I sync with Outlook it takes the updated name portion, but does not pick up the address from the iPhone. The Whitepages app (pretty handy app) will update my iPhone contact list, but I cannot then transfer that information over to my Outlook contact list. This all needs to work together. Solutions?

  • Sync issues between iPhone 5 and Outlook 2013 through iTunes

For at least 6 months I have been using a W8 laptop with Outlook 2013, and I've flawlessly been able to sync my iPhone 5 through a tethered connection to iTunes.  Two weeks ago, I lost the ability to update my Outlook calendar to the iPhone as new
calendar entries were not making it through the iTunes sync process for some reason.  Contacts, notes, and bookmarks still sync perfectly, but calendar entries have stopped updating.  I've recently installed regular updates to the iPhone IOS, iTunes,
Windows, and Office so something in the mix has caused my calendar sync to cease.  I have reverted my iPhone back to default settings and re-installed my user information, I've run scanpst on my Outlook file, and nothing has worked so I am searching
    for answers.

Does the calendar entries show correct through Web-based Access?
Which type of email account you are using?
Per your post, you are using iTunes to sync your message/Calendar/Contact betweem Windows and iPhone 5.
Is there a way to access your mailbox directly rather than connect Outlook to sync via iPhone?
Feel free to post back. Thanks.

  • Does iTunes 11.1 now sync with Outlook 2013 for Contacts and Calendar?

Previously I could sync and iPhone 4/4S with Outlook 2010 Contacts and Calendar but it stopped working when I moved to Outlook 2013.
Does anyone know if this has now been fixed with iTunes 11.1?
    Thanks.

  • Outlook 2013 calendar does not sync with iphone5

All of a sudden, I am unable to sync Outlook 2013 calendar with my iphone5. It had been working just fine and I do not recall making any changes. Any ideas what to look for and how to fix this? I am running Outlook 2013 under Windows 8 Pro, my iPhone 5 is ios 6.1.3, and iTunes is 11.0.2.26.

Exchange calendar became disconnected and did not sync for no reason at all. The solution - on your iPhone, go to Settings, Mail/Contact/Calendars, scroll to the bottom and set Exchange as your Default Account. Then do a test event on both tour iPhone and in Outlook and confirm it is working. Good luck - one word, patience.

  • How do I sync my calendar and Contacts with MS Outlook 2013?

I'm switching to a Samsung S5 from an Iphone 4S.  I used the icloud to manage contacts and my calendar with its integration with Microsoft Outlook 2013.  For a variety of reasons, I want to stick with my desktop version of Outlook rather than going to Outlook 365, but I need to figure out how I can share the calendar and contacts.  Does Google or someone else have an app that integrates with Outlook?

    Hello Fiona,
Congratulations on your new iPhone!  You can sync information to your iPhone from your MacBook Pro using the Info tab in iTunes when your iPhone is connected.  Use the steps in the following article:
