Syncing ITunes with My documents music folder....?

Was just wondering if its possible to sync ITune with the music folder on my computer as it gets annoying having to add new music manually, especially as Windows media player does this automatically without causing duplicates...

iTunes doesn't do folder monitoring.
One possible workaround is to look at 3rd party solutions such as iTunes Library Updater:

iTsync, a non free commercial program is another possibility although I don't have any experience of either myself.

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

How can I transfer music from my iPhone to my iPad.?
I no longer have a PC. Mine died and cannot be restored. It had iTunes with my entire music library on it.

If you are running an OS of 5.0 or higher, you should be able to use the iCloud to sync both devices together & share music.

  • How to for dummies: sync itunes with pc to import pics from apple iphone 5 to pc???

    1)   How to for dummies: sync itunes with pc to import pics from apple iphone, 5c, 7.1.2., to pc?
    2)   How to delete photos from iphone (when I pick a pic there's no option to delete from trash icon)?
    3)   How do I get the app (VS) VarageSale back on my phone screen? It is only listed in settings > notifications.
    4) Or how do I delete the VS from settings, so I can reinstall?
NOTE:  I have been to Verizon and they could not help me and it is too far to go to an apple store.  I have downloaded the apple manual and it is toooooo technical for me.

If you don't have a backup of your pc, you will have to use a third party solution to get your music back. Wiki has a [comparison of ipod managers|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparisonof_iPodManagers] here which you can look through to see if any meet your needs. I have used [CopyTrans|http://www.copytrans.net/copytrans.php] successfully but I did purchase it so I don't know what the free version supports.
You can [download purchased Apps for free|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519] but that won't work for music, movies, etc.
Hope that answers your question. Sorry about your lack of backup. Better luck next time.

Do you have iTunes match? You need a computer to manage an iTunes match library.

  • Can you sync Itunes with outlook for mac

Can you synce Itunes with Outlook fo MAC 2011?

Not directly. What you do is set Outlook to sync to Apple's databases (Address Book, iCal, etc)  via Outlook's Tools menu -> Sync Services and then you can sync to an IOS device, which is what I presume you mean.
    Regards.

  • Merging iTunes Media folder with general "My Music" folder

Using iTunes 10. My designated storage folder for files imported into iTunes is the default "C:\Users\My Name\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music." Over the years I have also imported many mp3 files and stored by artist/album/song in the general "C:\Users\My Name\Music" folder (same parent folder in which "iTunes music" resides).
For various reasons -- mostly related to cleaning up my drive and making simpler backups -- I would like to move all my itunes music files out of "iTunes Music" into the general "Music" file without losing the locator links in iTunes.
Is there an automated solution for this, rather than just dragging each folder out of iTunes Music and into Music and then reimporting through iTunes? Can I simply import the entire "Music" file into iTunes and let God sort it out, or is there some better way?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Wesley Everett wrote:

You could do that, but be aware that iTunes will treat each file as if it were newly imported, i.e. with no rating, no playlist membership, play count of zero, and Date Added of today.
or is there some better way?
You will probably find it preferable to run Consolidate. Read the article in iTunes Help before you run it. Long story short, it will copy the files all to one place and maintain their current library information.

  • Syncing iTunes with Sugarsync

    Hello,
I'm hoping some advanced mac/itunes user would have an idea of how to accomplish my goal.
Question: Is there a way to use sugarsync (or just in general the idea of a duplicate file system) to have an identical itunes experience on 2 macbook pros and a windows 7 desktop?
Explanation:  I have a windows 7 desktop and 2 newer Macbook Pro's.  All are consistently updated with the latest OS and iTunes updates.  In general, I'm trying to make it so that my media and files match as exactly as possible on each machine and they can be used interchangeably.  I have a highly organized and complex filing system with a large amount of files and have successfully been able to do this for everything so far except for music/iTunes.  I have about 80-90 gigs of music all organized in folders/subfolders within the iTunes music folder that originated on my desktop.  99% of the music I've ripped from CD's rather than purchasing or downloading through iTunes so, from my understanding, that makes iTunes match and home sharing not really an option.  What I want to do is use sugarsync like I have for the rest of my media/files to sync the content between the desktop and 2 macbooks so everything will be identical whenever I go between using one or the others.  For example, I want to be able to have my wife rip a CD into iTunes onto her Macbook at work and (after uploading time) be able to go and have it on my PC at home as well as any playlists that it's been added to.  Similarly, I want to be able to rip a CD or make a playlist from my home PC and go on either Macbook and have it automatically be the same when I open up iTunes.  I've tried doing the research and while sugarsync says it doesn't support this feature, it is so close to working.  I have it so that the files are all synced correctly and automatically and any changes made on one machine are automatically changed on the others.
There is just one problem that I can't figure out and if I could get this right it would work perfectly.  The iTunes library file that originated from the desktop points to the media based on the PC file path c:\users\username\my music\itunes\.  On the mac it's users\username\music\itunes.  So even though I have everything syncing exactly within the main itunes folder, the library file points to the path on the PC.  So when I open iTunes on the macbooks, all of the music is there and all changes are made, but I get the exclamation points by each file, showing that iTunes can't find any of the media.  I haven't done this, but I would guess that if I direct the macbook to the correct folder to find all of the music, it will do so, but then give me the same problem on the PC where it says it can't find anything and cause me to have to keep redirecting every time I use iTunes.
I'm hoping someone can give me any insight into a fix here because I have everything so close to being set up exactly how I want and this is the one thing I can't figure out.  I have two basic theories, but don't know if and how they're possible.  One would be to have sugarsync sync the media as I already have it, but have the macbooks have a separate library file from the windows desktop so that they can each point to the correct file path.  The other is to somehow have the iTunes software on the macbooks point to the correct file path in a way that doesn't rely on or alter the library file so that it will automatically know where to locate the files.
Does anyone have any experience or insight into this or have any other suggestions?  If your suggestion is to buy a mac desktop, I'd love to, but have to finish paying off the macbooks first.
    Thanks

"Are my movies, etc, now on the hard drive of the apple TV?" when user syncs the files are on the ATV hard drive up to a finite capacity. If user deletes any of the files from the itunes library used to sync then they get removed off ATV hard drive.
"close my MacBook" streaming does not work when the computer is sleeping. Requirement is computer on and itunes open to stream. Should not effect synced files though.

  • SYNC  Itunes with a Windows Mobile??

Hello everyone, I juts got the AT&T HTC Kaiser with Windows mobile 6... is it possible to syn my itunes music with my device through the Active Sync.
Can i download Itunes into my phone and then trasnfer my music is there like a plug in hat i can download and convert my "smartphone" into a Ipod???
    Thnanks in advance

Only the iPod/iPhone range and the iTunes enabled phones from Motorola are compatible with iTunes for Windows and with songs from the iTunes Music Store. If your phone shows up in Windows Explorer and allows you to drag and drop music files then you be able to use songs in your iTunes Music folder but it will take a bit more work. Also you can't directly convert standard iTunes songs to another format due to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy protection. You may be able to get your phone working with the aid of a third party helper program. Have a look at this one and see what you think:

  • I need to get the music off my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN onto either ITunes or in a music foldes on my new computer. Not all the music was purchased from Apple Itunes HOW DO I DO THIS WITHOUT LOOSING ALL MY MUSIC??

I have not had a computer for several years and I just got a new one. My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. Thank goodness I had it all on my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN. Now my problem is that I don't know how to get the music off my Ipod Nano onto my new computer!!! I was able to get the songs that I purchased thru ITunes by just authorizing my new computer. But I have alot more music that is on my Ipod nano that I can't put into my ITunes library. In fact, I can't even get my music into a file folder on my computer!! I really need help. I don't have any copies of the music anywhere else and some of it is hard to get. How do I get my music either into ITunes or into a file folder on my new computer or even if I could get my computer to recognize my Ipod and sync all the music into windows media or something like that. Every time I connect my IPod all that happens is that it tells me if I sync the IPod that it will replace all the music from my ITunes library on to my IPod. And I am guessing that means all my music on the IPod will be erased. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Thanks from the bottom of my songsters heart

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.
