I am new to iCal. How can I synch the iCal between my laptop and desktop?

So I have my i mac and my ibook G4. I would like them to sync - photo's the same / itunes the same the whole lot to be the same. Files folders etc.Is there any software out there that can help me. At the moment its a manual process of making sure that pictures and music are independently downloaded onto both machines.

Well, iSync is purely for syncing Contacts and Calendars/Events to mobile phones and PDAs, so it won't do what you want.
Have a look at ChronoSync though... or maybe the free Silverkeeper will do what you want.

Sync webmail with desktop TB on Windows 7

Can I sync TB with my ISP's webmail,which I am told is a form of MS Exchange, some way? My ISP said it would only work with mobile devices.I want to sync my TB desktop client. Would Exquilla be up to the task? Thanks

Syncing laptop with ipad mini

Hi, can anybody help me please? I have a laptop with windows 7 home premium, and have just bought an ipad mini. I am trying to transfer my email contacts, documents, etc. to the ipad without success. I have downloaded icloud onto my laptop, but when I try to sync, there is a tick box for photos and bookmarks, but no option to tick a box for email, contacts, notes, calendars etc. Can anybody give me an idiots guide? Is it because the software on my laptop is inadequate? Thanks for your help.

Combining laptop with desktop

I will be buying a new laptop and I want to know if I can (and how) to combine the laptop with my desktop so that I have the same info on both. In other words if I update on the laptop will it update the same info on my desktop and vice versa?

Sure. Do you need the connection to be wireless? Most of the time you just need an adapter and a cable to connect to the monitor. Can you tell us your Mac model and display model?

Syncing Laptop and Desktop

Apologies if this is the wrong forum but I am trying to find a good place to post this.
I am looking for some advice on how to sync files and databases (iPhoto and other) between my 250GB laptop and my 500GB desktop. Right now, with the exception of my email which is synced via IMAP the data is /totally/ segregated. As a for instance, I am planning on moving forward with iPhoto Library Manager to keep the same iPhoto Database on both machines at the same time. The plan is to import photos into iPhoto only from the desktop, however, it is unclear to me how to handle the situation when I organize images on the iPhoto Database on the laptop and then want this to be updated on the laptop. Perhaps iPhoto Library Manager will take care of this.
Does anyone know where to go to find someone with experience in handling the OTHER information that one may need to work on on two Machines? I've had suggestions to use iDisk but in some cases the information that needs to be synced is in the 100 - 200 GB range. Is there softare that can handle this? Does it work via an Ethernet connection and start automatically like Time Machine does for my laptop when I connect via USB to the external drive (so far this seems extremely convenient for backing up the laptop...).
At the moment I am trying to decide whether I should spend money to try spend some money on a server of some kind or if I should focus on upgrading the HD on the laptop to 500GB to match the desktop.
I think I am moving more and more to the idea that I need to purchase a large size external drive and backup the data (perhaps using Time Machine on both the laptop and the desktop?) to this external drive with Ethernet connections to both machines. However, while this would make the data accessible from both machines it is unclear to me to what extent I can /sync/ data in this manner.
Anybody got any good advice on where to start with this?

You are, in fact, posting in wildly the wrong area.
That being said you will need some third system to make this work. If you have access to the late model OS X Server machine you want to look into Portable Home Directories. This will sync the account on whatever computer you're working on to the server account on login and log out.
A general word of warning - whatever system you decide to use needs to be on good solid GigE networking for the sizes you're talking about. If you're looking at over the network speeds any standard internet "high speed" connection will probably not be up to this kind of work - especially if your upload speed is capped.

Error When Syncing BB9900 with Desktop Manager on Windows 8 & Outlook

I have a BB9900 running 7.1 Bundle 2061 (v7.1.0.714, Platform 5.1.0.532)
I have a Windows 8 PC running Outlook 2010
I have downloaded Desktop Software v7.1.0 B42
I have .NET Framework 3.5 installed and enabled ( and it was prior to the installation of the BlackBerry Desktop Software)
Have set up Sync of calendar from PC to Phone for all calendar options
I have received the following error message :
"Caught_com_error_exception. Description (): Error(): -2147023151 (0x800706D1) : ErrorMessage(): The procedure name is out of range.ource(): (null)"
I have uninstalled & re-installed software a number of times, with multiple re-boots.
Any help on resolving the issue greatly received

Follow the steps in this workaround and then attempt the synchronization:
Open a command prompt window by using Run As Administrator.
Type in cd \ and press Enter.
Type cd Program Files (x86)\Common Files\XCPCSync.OEM\SyncSDK.209.601\Translators\MSOl and press Enter.
Type regsvr32 XCPCRdmptn64.dll and press Enter.
Attempt to sync again using BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Let me know if the issue persists.

Sync Curve with Desktop using Bluetooth

I am trying to sync my curve with my desktop using bluetooth. Is this possible?
my desktop and curve are successfully paired
In connection settings, "bluetooth settings" are grey'd out - so I cannot select enable bluetooth- does this have anything to do with the problem?

Palm Centro won't sync Contacts with Desktop

It seems that a few people have had this problem, and I haven't really seen it answered yet. When I enter new contacts in Palm Desktop, they do not get sync'ed to my Centro. The log will just look like this:

In other words, Address Book does not even show up here. I deleted my Hotsync ID on the Centro and changed it in Desktop, and that seemed to sync everything back up again. But the problem still exists when I try to add a new contact. (I also did a hard reset, and then everything sync'ed over as well... and now I'm back to ground zero.)O Adding a new contact on the Palm likewise does not sync back to the Desktop.
I have checked the conduits on both the Palm and in HotSync manager 1000 times, and they are set to synchronize properly.
I do not use Exchange, although I did unsuccessfully try to set it up once with my work e-mail (never actually worked, and I've since deleted the VersaMail account). I noticed this problem after the recent firmware update, but that's not to say that it's the culprit.
Any help or insight would be most appreciated!

Once you have successfully synced to an exchange server the only way to completely remove it from the device is a hard reset, one thing you might want to try is a program called NVbackup, back your device hard reset and then do a selective restore and sync back just your contacts, this should then completely remove the exchange account and help you keep your contacts, you may want to manually jot down your contacts just in case though.

Email not syncing fully with desktop

We are running a 2003 SBS server with Exchange. Desktops are Windows 7, 64 bit with Office 2007. 10 iPhones are in the field. Randomly, desktop mailboxes and iPhones do not sync - an item read or deleted on the desktop shows unread on the iPhone, sometimes 2 days after the fact (an employee leaves on Friday and checks email Sunday to find items read/deleted Friday are unread or still in inbox on iPhone).
The iPhones have 3.1.3 installed, and workstations are current on updates.
Any suggestions on resolving this?

Exchange is sometimes slow when it comes to updating read status. Do you have Outlook Web Access? What do you see when you access your account using OWA? OWA is probably the closest you can easily get to what the Exchange server thinks it knows about your mailbox. The problem could be that the desktop Outlook client isn't syncing the data over to the server.
Also, try removing and re-adding the Exchange account on the phone. If that fixes the issue, then it could be that the phone is having difficulty getting a reliable connection to the Exchange server.

Syncing Memos with Desktop

I have an error message "The organizer applications on your computer aren't supported" when I try to sync my memos on Blackberry desktop. The messages says to check release notes however I cannot find anything about this topic in the release notes.
I have a blackberry 8310 and I wish to create files to transfer my contacts and memos onto my PC to be able to move them onto a new blackberry (I'll be handing back my 8310 with a gap of a few days before I have the new one.)
Help please!!
