Syncing Mac mini with Ipad

I'm struggling with syncing my Macmini (calender, notes, addressbook) with my IPad. MobileMe isn't accepting new members. Please help. I entered my addressbook all wekend and I'm stuck.
Many Thanks

It means it will erase everything. You can only sync with one iTunes library at a time. The Mac Mini is a new computer and it has a new iTunes library on it as far as your iPad is concerned.
If you copied the iTunes library onto the new Mac you are OK with the music, but you still need to make the Mini your new iTunes syncing library. You have to transfer all purchases into iTunes, backup your iPad, restore from your backup and sync all media content back onto the iPad.
This should help.

  • Sync mac mini with iPad mini

    Hello,
i have my Mac Mini running Maverick and my ipad mini with the latest IOS7 version, i can't sync my ibook files. can somebody tell me how to do it?
i am trying to transfer from my ipad mini to my mac mini.

Yes, this issue has appeared on some very long discussions, but I'll give you the short answer here. Books purchased in the iBooks store should be syncing across devices just fine.  The issue is with PDFs and ePub books obtained elsewhere.
Even though books are no longer stored in iTunes once you use iBooks on your Mac, you still need to use iTunes to sync them. The iTunes book section is now gone, but when you have your phone or iPad plugged in or connected over WiFi with iTunes look at the tabs for the iOS device.  You will see a Books tab that has syncing options for all or selected books.  Once you select what you want to sync and do a sync, your books should be on your iPad Mini.
Oops, I see you were actually trying to do the opposite of what I did, so this may be a little backwards, but I think the syncing will still occur.  Also, if you're referring to purchased content from Apple, maybe you just need to turn on some of the iCloud syncing options on your minis.
Good luck!  (I just learned this today.)

  • Syncing mac mini with G5

I did not know where else to post this.
My boss and I are in charge of a computer lab with 22 Mac computers; most of which are iMacs. We do have 10 G5 towers and we are trying to modernize them.
We have purchased a couple Mac Minis are using firewire cables to link the G5 towers with the minis. What we are trying to figure out is how to start them at the same time or how do we sync the startups? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Use mac mini with ipad mini

Hi - I am looking to move from PC to Apple gadgets and need to decide whether to upgrade laptop to Macbook Air first, or upgrade tablet to ipad (or ipad mini2?). Ultimately I will require more storage, so would look at either Mac Mini or Timecapsule.
Presently my laptop never leaves the desk, the ipad is useful when away and for free range browsing at home.
I use laptop for smallish excel & word docs, but more for email & general web browsing.
I have recently got iphone4 which I like & sometimes use when previously the tablet would have been used.
Any thoughts/suggestions about which way to go would be appreciated. The ideal would be Macbook/Air plus TC plus ipad mini2, but budget won't allow that. Would ipad plus Mac Mini work?
    Thanks

The Mini should meet your needs fine.

  • I recently purchased new Mac Mini with Lion installed. Now I can't get iTunes to sync iCal from my iPod Touch (3rd gen) to my Mini.

I recently purchased a new Mac Mini with Lion installed. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Now I can't get iTunes to sync iCal from my iPod Touch (3rd gen) to my Mini. Everything else syncs great, and iCal syncs from my Mini to my Touch. My Touch has the latest iOS installed. I have tried rebooting my Touch, removing the sync calendars option from iTunes>Info and checking it again after applying and closing iTunes, and restarting my Mini. Any help will be appreciated!

  • I need to sync my mac calendar with ipad and iphone and visa versa.

I need to sync my mac calendar with ipad and iphone and visa versa. I have read up on it and Mobileme seemed the way to go, but isn't for sale anymore.  Will installing lion allow me to integrate calendars???

You should post in the SL forum for more help.
Since you're using SL, you should be able to sync using iSync application or iTunes. I'm not familiar with it, but I know it can be done.
And yes, if you install Lion and use iCloud, you will be able to sync iCal between all devices. Once set up, whatever change made on one automatically updates the other. Same for AddressBook.

  • Tablet with Mac mini with bluetooth?

    Hi,
I was going to use an iPad with my Mac mini using blue tooth but I learnt I would have to also use a blue tooth keyboard etc to use it.
Is there any other brand of tablet that I could connect to my Mac mini with bluetooth without using another blue tooth device?

I was going to use an iPad with my Mac mini using blue tooth but I learnt I would have to also use a blue tooth keyboard etc to use it.
This makes no sense. The use of a Bluetooth keyboard has nothing to do with the iPad. You may use either a USB keyboard or a Bluetooth keyboard. Period. The iPad connects to the computer by USB for syncing and updating. But just having an iPad connected does not limit you to a Bluetooth keyboard.
Is there any other brand of tablet that I could connect to my Mac mini with bluetooth without using another blue tooth device?
What did you want to do with the tablet that needs Bluetooth connectivity? Other than backing up my apps and syncing my iTunes library, my iPad is hardly ever connected to my Mac. It gets used independently of my computer through it's Wi-Fi connection. (Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Google Calendar Sync, etc.) One of the few apps I have that connect the iPad to the Mac is to turn the iPad into a large trackpad for the Mac. That uses a Wi-Fi connection, so still no need for Bluetooth. I admit, it would be nice to sync my iTunes library over Bluetooth, similar to my Windows Mobile phone to my PC, but what do you need to do over Bluetooth?

  • HT204291 3th. gen apple TV with 5.2.1 and mac mini with 10.8.3, only black screen on TV after selecting Apple TV on the airplay icon. how to troubleshoot?

I have a 3th Gen Apple TV and a late 2012 mac mini with IOS 10.8.3
    - Connected thru HDMI to an ASUS monitor
    - Apple tv connected with wire
    - Mac Mini connected wireless.
    - I can see the Airplay icon on the screen
    - I can select my apple TV on the icon pull-down menu (first time it asked me for apple TV password)
    - Once selected, my monitor resolution changes and apple TV goes to a blank screen. On the pull-down menu, my apple TV papears selected and the option "match desktop size to:" is selected for my Apple TV.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?
    Additional Info:
    - I can stream from iTunes music with no problem
    - From an Air (on same wireless network) I can mirror my display. And form iPad and iPhone I can stream video and music.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Connect an amplifier (Rotel RA 12) to the mac mini with USB plug?

Is it possible to connect the mac mini with an amplifier via usb?

    Hillbille
I have a Mac Mini and a Rotel RA12.  As you have found out, you can use the optical out from the 3.5 mm output jack to act as an optical input on the RA12.   This option works fairly well to give you a pretty clean sound.  However, there are other options available to you.
One option is to use the headphone out as an analog signal using a tradtional 3.5 mm to RCA (split) cable, and running it to the analog inputs on the back of the RA12.  This will provide sound, but not quite up to the quality you will be getting using the optical out.  The reason being that the music signal is being processed by the internal DAC on the Mac instead of the better DAC in the Rotel.  The other obvious reason is the quality of cable is typically not up to snuff using that route (although, you can get some high end 3.5 mm to RCA cables).
Another option would be to use USB output from the Mac Mini and hooking it up to the USB input on the front of the RA12.  This is how I play music from my iPad mini through my Rotel and it works well.  Again, however, you are using the DAC of the Mac equipment instead of the Rotel and are limited as to what type of fileyou can play. For example, you can't play FLAC or 24 bit 88kHz files.
A third option, as someone already mentioned, is to get a USB/SPDIF converter, then run a COAX cable to the back of the Rotel RA12.  Depending on the quality of the converter, this is your BEST option for audio quality.   Using something like an M2Tech Hiface 2 converter will provide a high quality, jitter free signal between the Mac and the RA12.
Within that third option are two "sub-options" for music playback.  You can use iTunes to play back the music through the USB/SPDIF converter directly, or you can use a third party application that will bypass the volume control of the MAC to give you a much purer signal.  An example would be Amarra or Audirvana.
If you choose to use iTunes only, the sound will still be "okay", but you will not be able to play FLAC files or SACD ISO files.   You also won't have much control over the signal processing.   Either of thrid part applications I mentioned will give you the option to play other audiophile grade files, and give you a far better sonic experience compared to iTunes, and they can also be integrated with your iTunes library.  They will also allow you to utilize Direct Integer mode, upsampling, etc ... so that you can have a 44.1kHz file upsample to 192kHz at the Rotel, or have it upsampled to 192kHz in the Mac (using the 3rd party software) before it is sent out to the Rotel.  It just give you much more control over the signal.
The last option option above will give you an audiophile grade signal that will allow your Mac Mini to be used with very high end audio equipment with no comprise to the sound.  It will rival the very best of CD or SACD players on the market.  It also sounds incredible and you can use it in conjuction with the Apple remote app to control your music through an iPad.

  • What's the best set up with AppleTV and Mac Mini with 2TB external HD?

    Hi
I have an Apple TV and 2TB external HD connected to my Mac Mini.
I want to stream through my Mac Mini and I want all my media stored in my external HD.
What's the best setting so that I sync only one way to my external HD the contents of my Apple TV? I don't want anything except unwatched media on my Apple TV.
I'm fairly new to Mac world and Apple TV, as far as I read iTunes and Apple TV sync both ways, how do I achieve a one way sync to my Mac Mini with external HD?
    Many thanks

Ok that makes it clear, sorry I used wrong terminology,it should have been transfer rather than sync.
You don't want to stop transfers of purchased content. See This User Tip
While on the subject a friend of mine told me that the streaming videos doesn't work well,it kinda freezes and stops but the music stream is fine. Is that true or his set up is wrong?
It's not necessarily his configuration set up that's wrong, it's probably that he has a poor network by virtue of too great a distance or interference from other networks or other household equipment.
