Syncing Magazines to iPad from PC

Hi,
I have some magazines on my windows computer in PDF format and i would like to sync them to my iPad Mini Wi-Fi 7.0.4. I tried it with iTunes where i put the PDF in the books section and then sync but it did not work. What other way can i sync these PDF's to my iPad?
Thanks!

Okay, my process worked...
Step 1. Unstall iTunes and all associated programs (total 6 incl. iTunes.
Here is the link for that:
http://www.bluefireanimation.com/
Step 2. Re-install iTunes (do not attach iPad yet.
Step 3. Open the newly re-installed iTunes and clear sync history:
edit/preferences/devices/reset history
Step 4. (Very important) Same location as 3 above-UNCLICK "prevent iPods, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically"
Step 5. Connect iPad and sync.
This step will sync as much as possible from the library. If you are like me you will get a not enough memory error. If you do- no problem. You will be able to simply "uncheck' sync in all tabs except apps. YOU MUST SYNC ALL APPS INITIALLY. You can back later and sync only those you want to have on your iPad. Continue to sync one tab at a time with appropriate content.
These steps assume you completed a factory reset. The only difference is I am running Windows 7
Hope this helps...

  • Syncing photos on ipad from PC-

I can sync a folder from my PC to my ipad- but cannot load more than one album to my ipad- when I chose another album/folder to download all existing  albums on ipad disappear. Thoughts?

When I select the parent folder I then get the following selection box :
Below that I am then able to select the folders that I want to sync to the iPad. So I currently have 18 folders selected, and therefore 18 albums on my iPad.

  • Sync Pictures with iPad from Network Storage

Is it possible to sync photos from a network storage area instead of the HD?
If so where can i set the options in iTunes so that I can sync my photos not from my Mac but from a network drive/area?
    Thanks

Hei Alfred, I set them all up to do the same thing in settings. Ie, using the same icloud account, switching on the icloud account for photos, my photo stream is on, so is photo sharing. The imac and ipad have functioned well all the time. The iphone is newer.  I made sure that the iphone had the same settings for photos as the ipad, but no photos have ever gone automatically into icloud from the iphone. I have always had to do it manually. It is the same with my husbands phone and he has had it much longer. He isn't so computer literate, but I'm beginning to doubt myself now!

  • Sync videos to iPad from Aperture with Videos on external HD

    Hi,
I have the a problem when trying to sync videos with my ipad through Aperture.
When I sync videos which are in the mediafolder on the macbook the videos are perfectly synced to my ipad.
But when I have my videos (and Foto Originals) moved to an external Harddisk the videos don't show up in my ipad (the fotos does).
Seems like one hasn't thought about that function inside aperture to be handled by the sync interface in itunes.
Thanks in advance for your domments and maybe a hint to solve the problem?
    Joe

Thanks for your quick response Frank,
this helps to understand the intention on how the applications are programmed, but this is really not very userfriendly How to handle Fotos and Videos if you don't have enough space on your macbook.
Do I have to put the whole mediafolder from aperture to an external disk. Than I don't have the benefit of having a smaller mediafolder on my macbook, without the originals, which I do want to have on an external drive.
Today we're not only talking about external Harddrives, but NAS and iCloud, so I guess this should be optimized then.
But of course this is at the address from apple then, or is there somehow a workaround for that problem??
Thanks fo any help out there

  • Problem syncing photos to iPad from Aperture with a merged iPhoto/Aperture library

I recently 'upgraded' to us Aperture instead of iPhoto. One of the features of this was that I could continue to use the old iPhoto library in Aperture, and it automatically configures to Aperture settings - and it works great in Aperture.
The problem is that when I come to sync photos to my ipad, I have the drop down options for iPhoto and Aperture. The Aperture option shows zero photos, and the iPhoto option shows all the complete list of all my photo event/projects (from both my iPhoto days, and the more recent stuff in Aperture); but anything that I have created since moving to Aperture is greyed out and not accessible.
Any clues as to how I can sync the new photos as well as the old ones?
    Thanks

Have you enabled the sharing and creation of previews in Aperture? That is one big difference between Aperture and iPhoto - in iPhoto it is impossible to disable previews, but in Aperture you can create previews selectively, see: Working with Preview Images
Check Aperture's Preferences > Previews settings for "New Projects automatically create Previews".
Then select the images with missing previews in Aperture in the Browser and use the command "Photos > Update previews".
If that is not the problem, the iPod Photo Cache or the Aperture library may need repairing or rebuilding, see these documents on how to repair the Aperture Library:
Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library
iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder
First try, if a simple repair of the Aperture library will suffice, then delete the iPod photo cache folder. Make sure, that the backup of your Aperture library is current, before try any of this.

  • Syncing photos to iPad from iTunes

I got my iMac in November 2009.  My iMac OS is the latest series 9.  My iPad2 was purchased in July 2011.  I figured out first sync of photos from an iPhoto album in December 2011.  That took a while.  It should have been easier.  Last night I decided to add some photos to the iPhoto album and sync to add some more photos to my iPad.  But iTunes does not seem to recognize the additions to the album.  In fact, iTunes has not picked up any events or new photos after 1/12/12.  And there were plenty of new photos uploaded from the camera to iPhoto on the iMac.  iPhoto says I have some 4250 pics.  iTunes only recognizes 4050. I tried deleting the iPod Photo Cache to no avail. I also noticed that when I show the iPhoto Library package contents there is a folder called "Originals".  Its last mod date was 1/12/12 (coincidence?) but there are uploaded folders by date within Originals that are dated after 1/12/12.  It just shouldn't be this hard to sync photos...it just shouldn't.  iPhoto, iTunes and OS are all updated. The only change I can think of is starting to use a new Lumix ZS8 camera.

First launch iPhoto with the Option+Command keys held down and rebuild your library with just the option to "Examine and repair iPhoto Library file permissions" checked.
If that doesn't solve the problem create a new album with the same photos, delete the old album and try to sync the new album with iTunes. See if that will jumpstart the syncing process.

  • Can't Sync pictures with iPad from iPhoto in iTunes

I have an iPad 1, and original Aluminum Mac book running 10.7.
When i sync my photos to the ipad in itunes, it will not sync all 3000+ photos i want to sync from 5 different Albums i have set up in iPhoto. It randomly syncs 36 photos and that is it. It also puts the same 36 photos in two different albums. This has only happened since i installed 10.7.
It seems to only add videos and some pictures.

I was able to solve this problem by redownloading and installing iTunes from apple.com.
Then I created a new iTunes Library (hold alt on launch) and synced from this library.
N.B. Since I'm using iTunes Match and Mavericks has iBooks, my iTunes Library doens't contain any items on disk, so creating a new Library doesn't matter. If you have your music and or other items synced from your library, this may be not the best solution.
So looks like you are warning that creating a new library will loose things like album artwork, playcount etc.
Not really willing to take that sort of hit for Apples random decision to remove a key feature (even if it is a bug).
I would gladly receive any additional advice!

I have also noticed the same "problem".  I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

  • Some of the albums in the Beatles package I downloaded from itunes will not sync with my iPhone 5. Some songs won't play. They did sync to my iPad and they all play on my iPad. What can I do? I've already deleted all songs from the iPhone and re-synced.

I downloaded the entire Beatles collection from iTunes in 2011. Some songs skip and won't play. Some albums won't sync to the phone but they sync to my iPad. I've deleted the entire music library from my iPhone, shut the phone down, turned the phone on and synced again to add the music but now 2 albums won't even sync (Rubber Soul and Revolver). I've tried dragging the songs to the iPhone, no luck. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you may need to re-download the entire albums from iTunes. See this KB article for how to download past purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.
I'd suggest doing it one album at a time. Delete one, download it from your purchase histor, then the next, etc.

  • Does anyone know why music from my itunes syncs with my ipad mini but not my iphone 4?

I've repeatedly tried to sync a few playlists from my itunes to my iphone 4 but it wont work. I've successfully synced the same playlists to my ipad mini so why won't it do it for my iphone? Are there settings i've missed out? Thank you

Do the songs play OK in iTunes?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • How do i find which Apple ID is associated with music in my iTunes? When I sync with my iPad and iPhone it tells me I have music, apps etc from more than five IDs. I am asked for PW for a number of now extinct accounts.

Go to Settings/icloud. The Apple ID at the top of the screen is the only one you need to be concerned about. That one MUST be a working ID, and you must know the password for it, or you will be unable to use the phone if it ever crashes, you want to update it, or you want to sell it.

  • All I want to do is sync one video file from my computer to the iPad

    Hi all-
I ripped a "test" mpeg4 video on my home computer that I want to transfer to my iPad. That's all I want to do. I "assume" that this test video has to be placed in a folder somewhere on my main computer's hard drive so that iTunes "sees it" and puts it under one of those little tabs in iTunes like "movies" or "tv shows." Where do I put my test video so that it will sync with my iPad? I see the folders that have my music library for my iPod (Documents and Settings/Owner/My Documents/My Music/iTues) so I assume there must be some place I need to place this video in order to get it to transfer from my PC to the iPad.
    Thanks,
    Steve

You need to import it into the iTunes library from within iTunes. Content moved to the iTunes library folder manually won't be recognized by iTunes.
